    Camera crew, I for one enjoy seeing the different ways that Brian manages, and organizes the cables as well as the banter between you both. Thank you!

      Thanks Rich! Glad you do, and I fear it drives people nuts watching me try to get the wires "neat"...but my OCD tendencies rarely let me relax until they're as good as they can be made to be (easily)... Glad you enjoy it!

    Hi Brian. In the manual it say use Switch F for Aileron. Switch C for Elevator. Switch G for Rudder. You can programme The NX10 so each switches talk to you when you switches them. If you forgot what swicth F is assignto do tap the switch and it tels you Aileron, tap next one Nx10 say Elevatror, Tap next switch it say Rudder. All switches on NX10 can be named like the Trottel cut on/ tottel cut of etc. That mens you have full control of all switches what they are assign to do for you. I have done that on my E-flight RV-7 And i am about to do the same with Viper 700mm EDF that i just bought januar 2024.

    People may not acknowledge but honestly the highest curiosity regarding every edf plane is regarding its
    1. max possible flight time with heavy batteries 2. ups & 3. retracts.
    It would be great if you give detail closeup blue light look of all inlets and cheater holes and of retracts holes demonstrating their functioning & even retract servo operation & mechanisms from underneath.

    I finally pulled out the factory extension system and installed my own, shorter extensions. I had to put extensions on my flaps to even get them into the fuselage so I could connect to the Y on the receiver!

    Thank you so much for the Viper 70mm radio set up. Never would have figured it out. You had the same issues I did and showed how to fix. PLEASE go a little slower when you are rolling through screens and tell what you are doing. You do well, but sometimes you fly past something critical.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  8 месяцев назад

      Glad it helped and if you do want slower, have you considered clicking onto the GEAR icon on the video player, and selecting the SLOW playback...you can do as slow as 0.25 X which might be too slow, but it might give you the edge you need. We try HARD, and fail for many, to strike a balance between going too fast and too slow.
      Hope this helps, and makes sense!

    I have Safe Select (Safe, AS3X, no gyro), thrust reverse, gear, flaps and 3 axis control set up on my 2000mm T28 using my NX8. The thrust reverse is on the bind button. You do not need a NX10 to set it all up.

    great review, are those 2 ferrite rings really needed? or that's something it can be removed to save some weight ?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  9 месяцев назад +3

      If you're working for the FCC - then by ALL MEANS - they save little children's lives - LOL LOL LOL - take them out if you wish. They're a complete waste of time, space, and weight, and only have to do with RF interference that might cause an issue to some ultra-nerd (even more nerdy than ME!!!).
      When Horizon Hobby makes a model, they follow ALL the insane rules, which is why they will often times cost a few dollars more (and yeah, I mean a few - like $10-30 more on a $250-$750 plane) - compliance while making "toys" for us adult men, is just tediously annoying to even discuss. What eve happened to "freedom"?
      Thanks for understanding my annoyance, and please understand it's not with YOU or your question, but is with these insane over-reaching, bureaucratic rules, we all get the privileged of following, but not being able to vote anyone out when they make more and more and more of them!

    Hi Brian, I like your show and I learned a lot from it, that's a interesting concept of running your wiring harnesses through the airplane, try using a snap swivet tied to a piece of thick fishing line or a a piece of wire to pull the wiring harnesses through, a little trick I learned from wiring guitars

    Thanks for the previous information.
    I used your setup for the Viper 70mm v3 with safe and throttle reverse with pilot fatigue all the channels are used up. There is the bind port on the AR631 receiver thats empty but i dont know how to use it. I want to install the KM After burner but i need an empty channel .I was thinking i need to get the 8 channel receiver i have the NX8 what do you think to do.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  8 месяцев назад

      Bind port is NOT a channel, BUT it will have power, if you're just looking to steal BEC (usually 5VDC or so) to run the Afterburner ring.
      IF you need SIGNAL, then you can usually "Y" off the Throttle channel and make this sort of thing work. This is as simple as using a SERVO SPLITTER CABLE like this amzn.to/4bKXO8S (for example...you probably already have one or more lying around).
      If you have issues getting it to work, there are some issues with the way SERIAL communication is handled between SMART ESC and the Rx, so if you can't get it to work, this MAY be an issue, and I believe that RC Geek has a compatible solution...just a thought, and he's a super nice guy too (Chris) - we're actually kinda "competitors" on RUclips, but he has a great little website... P.S. I'm not an AFFILIATE of his - www.thercgeek.com/

    Brian,
    After 15 years I am back to RC again. Everything has changed and I don't know anything about the new technology. Is there a current instructional book on how to match all the spectrum merchandise? Lost again. I have purchased a NX10, new ducted fan jet, etc Hobby zone I bought new btry and charger, but the cords don't match and Hobby zone doesn't tell you what you need to work. Just what you might need. Where do I get more info on the hobby

    • @032490mf
      @032490mf Год назад

      The RC industry has changed, for the worse I'm afraid. The days of modeling are pretty much over. About the only thing seen at the field anymore are cookie cutter made in China ARFs. Not much to get excited about. When Horizon bought out Hobbico from Bankruptcy they discontinued most of the line. Kits are all but non existent as well as glow engines. Now days people would rather spend ten hours a day on their "Dumb Phones" then building models.

      This type of question may not going to give enough information for most of us to help, but I'll give it a shot...
      Press the BACK button, or ESC button to back out, if you want to get out of "Forward Programming" - you might have your throttle HIGH, which might prevent you from EXITING, which would cause an unsafe condition...possibly making the throttle engage.
      If that doesn't work, unplug your plane, if it's plugged in, and then power down the NX8.
      If it won't power down pull the battery.
      Once rebooted, should be up and running from scratch...but if not, then you should call up Horizon Hobby tech support and get some help there.

    Bought the plane off your video. BUT please don't waste so much time testing AS3X. If Safe is working correctly and you can hear the servos move in AS3X THEN AS3X IS WORKING CORRECTLY. IF YOU DO NOT HEAR SERVOS MOVE WHEN YOU MOVE THE AIRPLANE AS3X IS NOT WORKING, LIKELY NOT TURNED ON! Test Safe first then AS3X. That would have saved about 5 minutes of this video. Great twist on Throttle Cut but I prefer Motor On/Motor Off sounds. It's one less word and more directly conveys what you did with the switch change.

    Landing gear ok, but poor..needs a ankle style joint so get more softness on grass and tarmac, stops bouncing and gear being ripped off..

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts

      The new softer tires and shock-absorbing struts minimize/eliminate bouncing on all surfaces! Have you actually watched any of the videos showing it landing on various surfaces?
