I have this one on my favorites. I enjoy it everytime I watch it. I never thought it was bad or wrong, even if you had been doing it for a kick. You picked good music to go with it too!
I just picked up on what you guys are talking about. Us old truckers call that a trolley valve or trolley bar. Trucks still use this today and you can perform many tricks with it but it does flat spot the tires but we call it a trolley valve. It's the same type lever used on trolley cars to stop them. On semi-trucks we have 4 brakes. 1 - regular foot pedal, 2 - trolley valve, 3 - exhaust brake, and 4 - emergency brakes. Each has a purpose but some drivers are known to abuse these.
I've commented before on this video, I was just looking at it and still enjoy it. There's nothing wrong with showing what a truck, trailer or whatever you were filming the commercial for, can do.
Everytime I see this I think "only perfetionals could do this with a truck" lol. I enjoy it everytime. Has the right songs with it too! I wish I was good enough to slide a trailer like that...on purpose :)
I've commented before on this one, but everytime I see I like it. Anybody can run a rig like that and not roll it or wreck in some way is a great driver!
Yes, the main differenences are the cab and hood. If you look at the way the truck bounces as it goes over the rough dirt road it doesnt ride well. But in australian trucks, which i will say are different in design would not ride as rough. Which is why i stated they arent used over here. Little factors can sometimes make large differences.
thank you very much for the comment! it's nice to hear from someone that realizes it was only a stunt for a commerical. I think they are all just jealous that they would never get to drive like that and get paid for it too...lol
ugh that last run over the whoop de whoops made my nuts hurt...anyone whos driven a truck knows that feeling of a big ol bump and the boys bouncin off the seat.. ugh.. i watched this 3 times and it was awesome. i want this job!!!!
Lol, they probably had sore bottoms for sure, it's a good thing they were wearing their seat belts, or their heads would have gone through the roof of the rig. My co driver bounced a rig like that we were driving when he hit a ditch in the road going alittle too fast both of bottoms went up 3 or 4 feet in the air out of our seats it's a good thing we were wearing our seat belts our heads would have went through the roof of the rig if we weren't wearing our seat belts. Lol.
Espectacularrr !!!!! si señor and with some of the trailers that I like very handsome jej video and the music as it is called is to listen while I play with my truck game jeje
It's a controlled jackknife slide. If you will notice at the 38 second mark there is a white tractor with a cable attached to the back of the trailer. He pulls off and then pulls the trailer from the back where the cable is attached to create a controlled jackknife slide.
Not slandering your video, but your video shows exactly why perterbuilts arent used in Australia. Our roads are shit as and it would break them to bits in no time. With this video, that must of been one hell of a crazy commericial lol.
@p154831 thats not a downshift its what is referred to by drivers and my dad as a Jake-brake. It engages when you let off the gas and slows the truck using the motor.
Ha ha, no problem. That said, I'm just as amazed that people are still commenting on the 'message' of this video. It's just footage, outtakes, and a few photos that haven't been placed into any context, much less a linear narrative.
nice !!!! :DD i was watching the "second ride" and i thought to myself .... what will happen in the 3rd ride ! ... it will be like "a ride to the hell" looool :DDDD nice vid bro !!
Where did you guys get the truck anyway? Does it belong to one of those companies that rents trucks for movies etc? Is it still around or was it wrecked in a movie after or does it belong to a freight company?
Its amazing what a big truck can take I would have loved to been there. Let me guess how to make orange juice the trucker way. Well dam fine driving and what if anything broke?
hey. the pete was towed with a cable attached to the rear of the trailer. by the white/volvo. and the front wheels on the trailer were tied up.. i hope this answered yer question.
That wasn't snowman driving was it? I kinda recognized his style. How did the commercial go anyway...dole trucking, when we are late desperate times call for desperate measures. lol
before I read the description, I was thinkin' wow, he must be real mad at that trailer, what was the commercial? or was it maybe a commercial type of training film?
I have this one on my favorites. I enjoy it everytime I watch it. I never thought it was bad or wrong, even if you had been doing it for a kick. You picked good music to go with it too!
no wonder my damn bananas have bruises
Joe Young lol
ha ha; now I know why mine are always bruised too
Swift has this as their instructional video but they call it "Mad skills"
Lol
lol
😁😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
my back hurts just watching it
Just makes me cringe seeing machinery treated like that.
This looks like someone spent too much time in Grand Theft Auto and forgot to leave that driving style on the console.
Wore about 20,000 miles off of that truck in 3 minutes.
Hell... worse than that. That's a frame and spring breaker.
Job posting: Dole is now currently looking for a safety-minded professional driver.

Cool video thanks for posting!

At least this explains the high cost of bananas!!! Lol. Great behind the scenes video!!
Love the part after the first run, Nice slide you had going there.

Love that Jake Brake sound!

Hat's off to the driver keeping the truck tracking fairly straight with the tractor bouncing like that.
Isn't that a Freightliner Classic XL?

My first thought was that's truck must be gettin repo'd lmao😂 hahaha wow
Might as well have some fun with it
He wasn't tryin' to jackknife, he was just swattin' that Volvo, like a pesky fly.
pretty good drivin guys. Nothing beats that toyota commercial years ago tho
As someone that has to take a truck offroad...That driver felt that shit in the morning!!!
That is some funny stuff!!! That is one talented (and now probably sore) driver!
ya gotta love those 8" stacks with no mufflers.
i was having a hard time figuring out why you would ever do this, then i read the description.
I'd like to see the commercial you made out of it.
THAT is some bad azz driving!!!!!! GREAT job fellas!!!!! :)

that looks like so mutch fun i wish i could learn to drive trucks and do commercials
Espectacularrr !!!!! si señor and with some of the trailers that I like very handsome jej video and the music as it is called is to listen while I play with my truck game jeje
lol I remember that commercial! I thought it was all computer generated... had no idea you actually drove the truck over those bumps haha Nice!
that has got to be the funest job i have ever seen

What did the finished commercial look like? I would like to see it.
i remember that comm. funny as anything. reminded my dad of me!
obviously the driver was going bananas over the filming of the commercial

That was just AWSOME...5 stars for sure. So how much damage was there to the truck and trailer?

Doye O'Dell Was the first one, but this is someone else on this video. The original is on RUclips. Was done live in '57, per the description.
Poor pete its a beautiful truck
if anything this proves that big rigs dont have as high of a center of gravity as one may think XD
how could you do such a thing with a rig so beautiful this brought tears to my eyes to watch this
Well this teaches me a lesson,Now when I turn 17 ill try to be a trucker
What was the commercial for, crushed pineapple? Cool video!
Not slandering your video, but your video shows exactly why perterbuilts arent used in Australia. Our roads are shit as and it would break them to bits in no time.

Well dam fine driving and what if anything broke?
couldn't they have just used a freightliner instead? or a volvo
Justin Hood thats what i was thinking lol.. Not the Pete!!!😂
Or, to make it interesting, a Mack.
slr379x.....Hey Driver Ive got FREIGHTLINER FEVER. Better than a 13 letter Shit Spreader!!!
Son because a damn freightshaker couldn’t do it nor could a volvo they’d fuck up at the thought
hey.
the pete was towed with a cable attached to the rear of the trailer. by the white/volvo. and the front wheels on the trailer were tied up..

Never saw a semi that did 4 wheeling. Nice driving.
