Joy there’s lots of people with sewing channels but you are an excellent teacher, I’ve learnt a lot from you.🌺
Thank you for showing how you made the leggings. The tips are invaluable! The fabric is gorgeous!!!!!

What a nice comment Deanna. I had a BFF for years named Deanna. She has dementia now and doesn't remember me. So sad. She is 14 years older.
It is a "Joy" to watch you do what you do best. Thank you.
Girl,You have a God-given talent for TEACHING!!!! You have a special way of making people understand the concepts you are teaching. PLEASE keep demonstrating techniques. I LOVE watching you show the machine work too. What an excellent teacher! I learned so much! THANK YOU!!!

Wow! Great editing - those musical interludes made me laugh because I wanted to hear what you were saying.😂Wonderful sewing and look at you all color coordinated in your new “athleisure” wear! Bravo!!👏👏

Love your laugh and sparkle! No wonder you have such a huge following of sewing learners. Thank you! Tell us about that extra light hanging in front of your machine?
Love watching you.I have learned so much watching your channel. So many tips to make sewing easier.Thank you for taking the time to teach us.
Joy, may I say I love you most in these type of tutorials the best! I have watched you for years! And you’re best of doing sewing and creating crafts ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Patricia. They seem so boring to me. Probably because I cannot have music on when I am filming what I am doing. I am always making something. I'll keep doing them as long as someone likes them.
I love the outfit. It does look pretty easy and I might try it soon. Of course your tutorials will really help guide me through it.
Hi I just ran across you again. Love your top might have to give this pattern a try. You explain the gusset extremely well.
I'm getting back into sewing after a long time away. I enjoy all your videos, but especially tutorials like this one. Thanks Joy!
I just bought a fabric guide for my brother cover stitch machine. GAME CHANGER! It was a baby lock brand but worked perfectly on the brother cover stitch. ✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏
I need one of those!
@@Joy4650B I sent you a picture of the part number and what it looks like by your email . Let me know if you don’t get it. Part number is BLES8-FG. I sent another email with a link to Gail Yellen on RUclips where I discovered it. She’s very knowledgeable. Good luck! ✝️✝️
Thank you Joy for another video added to my sewing tutorial list. You are THE best! Both of the outfits look perfect on you!
Yes it fits you just fine. Your outfit looks easy to wear and that fabric must feel amazing! Great job!
Love your energy
Hi Joy, freezing here in the uk. Snowing all day. Thank goodness for Joy to cheer me up. Hugs 🥀🥀🥀
Love that you put colored fabric around neckline. Love your laugh!!
I have always wanted to make leggings for myself. Now I know I can. Thank you so much Joy. Blessings.
Love that blue fabric. So pretty.
I really love how you explain things, also got giggling about the gallon of wine too. When you put the elastic on I noticed it was the same size as the fabric, what a perfect out fit, love , love, love it.
That was a really enjoyable sewing tutorial, looks good on you.Thank you Joy.xx
Blue fabric is so pretty. Looks good on you. Love the outfit.
Your tutorial is so helpful! I’ve made several pairs for my Mom now that you’ve de-mystified that gusset!!😍🥰
Thanks for a great video and all the tips to go along with making these leggings. Love your fabric!
Love all the tops you’ve been making. Oh, It’s 5 degrees here. Love ya, Elizabeth
You explain things very well. Loved the demonstration!
I love this- you look fantastic! I must buy these patterns-- so cute! Thanks for sharing Joy!
That was so much fun. Thank you for sharing. I sew my knits on my machine too, then I serge the seams. Love both patterns. Will have to get those
Love the outfit! And thank you for the tutorial of how to put the gusset in.
Love the Top 👍👍Teresa Stacey 🇦🇺👏
Your outfit is so cute! Love the colors! Blessings!
Thank you for your excellent sewing lesson!
Thank you for the fun tutorial Joy, I have to try these two patterns myself. They look great on you.
Cute cute. I have both of these patterns, enjoying them a whole lot. Thanks, Joy. ~ L
Ha...I saw your cute outfit on Instagram before seeing the video. Have to say that baseball style of shirt is so youthful and cute on you and really shows off that you have lost ten pounds! I probably found them for you but I am going to dig through my stash and find a pattern or two I can put together to come up with something similar. It is so nice coming to 'visit' with you as you sew and get great sewing lessons along the way. And the inspiration is awesome. Thank you, Joy!
Those knit garments are so comfortable. It is fun to have a lot to choose from in my closet.
I love the outfit and the visitation it's a joy to visit with you.
Love your style of teaching!! Your leggings are amazing easy but not sure how they will look on me. Your clothes always look so cute on you.
Getting ready for that cold front and bad weather here in Tulsa! Makes for a good sew day
Joy I like it
The flowing top is nice I always think that you should have a longer flowing top with leggings for ladies our age and you have done a perfect job
Love it
Take care god bless you
Thank you Joy for walking us through this leggings tute!😆😂😂😂
Joy you look so cute! Well done, it is adorable!
I love your blue outfit, its perfect.
Wait... what? Your daughter is 50+ years old?🤯
Also love this tutorial ms. Joy! Was laughing during the whole tutorial. Especially the "...where my nose is..." part, where you just stuck your nose through the leggings. 😂❤
Love the blue. Looks lovely on you
I love the outfit!! It looks great on you!!
Great tutorial, Joy. Thank you.
i watched when you tried to put the gusset in the first pair, what a time lol - practice, practice, practice lol. Love the outfit
I would really like to have some of your energy! I love you! You pick up my spirits!
I think the top and leggings rock!!!!!
Thank you, Joy. Very helpful. Love you.
I love the music Joy! One day Jerry will be playing that hip shaking music his self 😀
Love the top! I made one just like it(not the colors) with lettuce edge hem.
Cute outfit! Thanks for the demo.
very cute and thanks for those great tips
Joy the bird nest stitching on the reverse side of the hem means the upper tension needs to be tightened. This was told me by a sewing machine repair man. Hope it helps. Love all the tips you so generously share.
Looks really great, love it on you
Hobby Lobby has simplicity and Kwakiutl sew patterns for 99 cents this week.
Super cute! I love it!
Ur a great seamstress Joy, love ur top leggings n instructions. U crack me up 😂 . God Bless U .
I love it!! Looks nice on you.
A very helpful video. Thank you.
Super cute outfit!
I am about to make the leggings again, I used your other video to make the first pair. I couldn't have made them without you but this video shows it all better.
Same 😀
Great tutorial! Thank you.
You make me laugh. 😀 love the outfit.
Haha...my husband just turned out his light and says to give you his best regards!
Very cool top!!
I love this fabric! Where is it from? Thanks for the gusset help. The legging pattern I use doesn’t have one so it’s just zip zip and done! This outfit looks so comfortable and your fun attitude is contagious! 😃🤩
Hi Joy, I laughed when you showed us where the crotch gusset goes.
Thanks for the sewing lesson Joy! Talk about screw ups. I don’t think I’ve made one thing that I didn’t run into a problem or sewed something wrong. I feel like I spend as much time picking a seam apart as I do sewing lol!
The seam ripper seen at some part of this video has a white rounded handle, that would be Clover brand ( if you don't have it).
Sharper than others. Recommended to me by someone who worked in a tailor shop.
Hey I think you do have a thread cutter on your machine! I have a Bernina too, it’s on the left side to the back right behind that light bulb picture. Love your energy!
Round part down - got it!
lol such a fun vid' thanks Miss Joy! xo Are these the leggings and top you say are the best ones? Or is it two other patterns? I love the outfit you created. Beautiful Ciao' for now!
Yes they are!
Love it... I mean them!💙
Which legging pattern Do you like the best? The Greenstyle sundial leggings or the Jaylie leggings??? Love your new outfit!!! We have below zero temps here in Minnesota 🥶
The sundial are easier because they don't have a gusset. I like them both though.
Joy, I got so tickled during you sewing the legs...during the editing you played music but you were talking. We talked about this before....you have to talk or your head would blow up. The reason I understand this is because my family says I would talk to a fence post. Kindred sisters we are. lol....... Love the time I spend watching you. One more thing...I made a sign for my sewing area that reads: "Your never too old to twirl" I make a lot of twirly dresses. And yes, I twirl.
I hope you couldn't hear me talking!
@@Joy4650B No, just could see your lips moving.....
Hi Joy! Thank you for the videos. You are a wonderful teacher in my book. I do have a Q. I can’t find the sew along Jalie top. I need it and I can’t find it, please do not take them away.
Sorry i didn’t say it is the raglan top.
I just did that recently. I'll put a link here for you.
ruclips.net/video/zCJyvVR-JUg/видео.html
I was wondering about your raglan! (Yay, I have that pattern in my stash.)
If you ever demonstrate that pattern, would you consider telling us how to adjust the neckline width? That top is wide open on me and shows my straps. I know you don't have time to discuss every modification anyone might need. But, if you get the chance and are so inclined, I sure would appreciate it.
Did you go with the straight top rather than the version with the yoke? Another great tutorial. Thanks.
Yes. I do not like that seam across my belly. I feel it all day long.
Love you, too!
Hello Miss Twirlie 😄 I love a swing myself. I was popping in to ask you about the shirt to go with leg'ns. I have been adoring the one your wearing for days. I love the colors prints and style. Was totally tickled to see your going to walk us through it. I've picky ever made "A " (one) pair of jammerz ( pj pants lol) but I'm a busty gal tall and c wide shoulders taboot! Ugh clothes.. let's just say an over sized sleep shirt had been my friend for years. I'd rather feel good about the day while " being dressed for it".
Ok i LOVE these BLUE LEGN'S & TOP🤩‼️ now I need fabric as Cool as yours. But I'm on a budget. Well we'll but speak of that situation only believe the good Lord favor upon it😉 that said to Matthew an on-line purch and Make a mistake 😳
Anywho sister Joy I am sending Hugs n Bless'ns your way. TTNT🌷🌷🌷
( toodles till next time)
Thanks for the very helpful leggings tutorial! How much smaller was the elastic than the waist. 1 "? Or less?
About 1". I made it feel comfortable on my waist.
When I sew elastic that way it stretches way out. I use a zig zag like you do and still stretches. What do I do wrong? Love the fabric you used for the leggings. Yum. 15 below zero here fyi.
Buy quality elastic. Big difference. Old elastic is bad too.
How in the world did you figure that out?
What fabric did you use? I like cotton/Lycra but it’s very hard to find.
Joy, very informative video. Did you "lap" the elastic for "butt up" the ends.
I showed how I butted up the ends on a piece of fabric. Must have cut that or put music on top. I always butt them over a little scrap of fabric so there won't be a hump.
@@Joy4650B Thanks again Joy. I'll re-watch the video.
@@Joy4650B It took me awhile but I found your video on joining elastic - "Elastic Tip,... 2/12/19. I'm putting together a sewing/quilting tips booklet for myself and my girls.
With all that is going on in this country I'm sure God has a plan.
When you sew these pants do you cut it out with negative ease? If so how much?
You use the pattern for your size and you HAVE TO use fabric with 60% stretch as the pattern explains. It has to stretch both ways too.
Alas it is difficult to find 60% stretch fabric.
Ya learn LaVern💖
Joy, what kind of knit do you use for leggings?
You must have four way stretch. You can buy "activewear" from fabricmartfabrics.com, and it has a ton of stretch.
I just watched your video yesterday that you made 2 years ago making these leggings! You do a great job of explaining the instructions. On a side note I’m like your friend who gets dizzy - I had to close my eyes while you twirled lol.
I get slight vertigo also when you move quickly. But you are great Joy. I sew my waistband with sewing machine.
@@lyndaleekorn1408 ha ha me too but I love Joy and her videos too.
You don’t wear glasses to sew how do you manage that?
I wear one contact. Both eyes have lenses in them after cataract removal.
I really like the Jalie Clara Leggings pattern (and your choice of fabric is so pretty)....did you know they show a hack on their website to make them without the gusset?
I did not know about the gussetless style. I'll have to check that.
