You are so good at everything. I just can't believe it Joy. You cut your own hair, make your own jewlery, make your own clothes, and make your own quilts. I wished I lived near you. So amazing. Thank you for sharing your love for what you do.
Oh my gosh! Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, Joy! I learned so much from these last two videos. As a 71 yr old re-entering the world of garment sewing your are my guru. I make so many mistakes but you keep me going. Seriously! I really want to learn fitting and pattern making. God bless you for your honesty, sense of humor and excellent teaching skills.
I really liked your presentation. You have a nice homey way of explaining the alterations. The pattern changes were much easier to understand. Thank you
Joy, I am so glad I found you, you are so good at altering patterns, my husband is delighted that I have started making garments again. I have been sewing for over 60 years and stopped making garments several years ago as my body had changed and I just couldn’t seem to get the alterations right. Now my clothes fit like a glove and I am loving to make garments again. Thanks for sharing your expertise. You are such a great teacher because you take the extra time to show exactly what you did to make the change and why. Here’s hoping you have a wonderful day and rest of the week.
Joy, it is so awesome how you show fixing mistakes! It's so valuable because I'll sometimes get stuck when things don't go according to the instructions. You're a treasure!
Loved your video especially on fitting the correct size I was buying according to my full bust measurement and then making a FBA. It was always too roomy. Your video is my birthday preasent. Today I turned 82. I love quilting and sewing clothes. Please keep doing these videos. Thank you!
I have to add my voice in agreement with those already posting: fabulous tutorial!! You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you for making the mistakes as it helps me to forgive myself for my sewing errors and to be inspired by you to not give up. There is a lot to remember to make sure ones garments turn out to fit. So grateful to you.
These are sooo helpful! I am not completely new to sewing but have learnt so much from watching you make these adjustments. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to show in detail how to adjust patterns to fit! This is the best explanation I have ever seen....and I've watched a lot.

Thank you!! This is the best fitting video I have ever seen since sewing again, for the past year. I also have 'skinny arms and hollow/flat upper bust', and you have demystified this for me. I also will know how to adjust patterns for my husband's high round back, with out difficulty. I have pasted the link into my Trello sewing information 😃 🇨🇦
I am so happy you are doing these videos, I am learning a lot and recovering from 10+ years of sewing drought... and acquiring some great gadgets too! Curve ruler... ordered...Yeah
What a wealth of information! I made my first ABB Tee. Pattern is great and instruction enclosed were awesome! I have learned how to make my first FBA, never thought I need it, but boy what a difference it makes. Should have put in a round back and a sway back adjustment as well, but thanks to you, now I know how. Love your no nonsense, down to earth approach to sewing. Absolutely love your videos, please continue.
Joy, you are such a good teacher. You covered things that most books don’t tell and the why. This is so helpful for those new seamstresses ( I don’t like sewist either). I do basically the same adjustments on my patterns except for the FBA, I am a “B” so no need. I live watching these tutorials bc they are also good reminders, too. Thanks.
Just brilliant, Joy, thank you so much. I have tried to figure these alterations out but now you have explained so beautifully, I can now understand. I sewed quite complicated things before having children and have only recently returned to making clothes for myself. There’s nothing worse than making all the effort for a bad fit you then don’t want to wear. Pointless and frustrating. You’ve made a lot of people very happy! Such fun! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕

Since you are now retired and have a little more time (ha), have you considered extending this tutorial into a regularly scheduled event? You could continue filming on-going tutorials of simple and creative changes to the basic pattern and we could all sew along. I'm sure your regular followers would love it and these tutorials would probably gain you many more viewers who want to join the fun. Give it a little thought.

I have to say, after watching a lot of youtube videos, your videos are the best. I really, really hope that as the months go by, that I will be able to make something that will fit me perfectly. After you did the zipper tutorial, I put one in my skirt. It's not good but at least I did it. I can only get better. I'm going to buy the curve runner today. Your viewers are so lucky to have you. x

You are a very talented teacher, enjoy your videos very much. I just want to let you know about my solution for bleeding markers that damage your table, cutting mat and even the pattern you are tracing. I use felt tip pens from PAPER MATE call: Flair! won't bleed through paper. Come in 32 colors and they are available in 2 widths: medium and ultra fine. You can even use the iron with steam, don't blead or smear
Fabulous tutorial Joy! Hey, I remember going with my Mom to Streets to shop when I was a little girl. The ladies who worked there were so classy and dressed so nicely. Back in those days when the staff were there to assist you (happily, I might add) and bring clothes to the dressing room if you needed a different size. Streets had the most beautiful clothes. If I recall correctly, it was a little pricey, but clothes were meant to last back then, so you were buying quality. Times sure have changed! I miss those days, don't you?
I sure do miss those days. You are lucky to find someone AT ALL in the stores these days, never mind someone who is trained to serve and knows the garments.
Back in the day, I was a Science teacher. You are a wonderful teacher. You really are. On the FBA, I need them as well to adjust to my “tube socks🤣”. I can’t even get bras to fit properly. I have the same shoulder issues too. I’m small on top but pear out. I probably will hav to make the sleevevthe same size or bigger as the top of my arms are fat. I will get this pattern and make the adjustments according to you and the fit directions. I’m so excited to get going. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I can’t tell you enough how helpful this has been. Also, you crack me up while I’m learning. I just love you.

Your viewers are so lucky to have you. x
GREAT video Joy!!! I never knew why my blouses gaped in the center front or how to fix it. Thank you so much!
OMGoodness. You make me feel so much better.I love to laugh with you .You are such a wonderful person. I continue to try sewing ,but , Have mastered how to make a tote bag! LOL Love your tutorials
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I will be ordering those right now!
Fabulous Joy.. as always... thank you so much... love love the details.... just what I want to see... so looking forward to the next video...😊
I love watching your video's and I'll be making this top. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the tutorial Joy! I’m learning and having fun 😀 I really appreciate all that you do🙏🏾
Geez, are you smart!🎓⭐️🎖⏯😀
Great instruction! thank you!
Not even five minutes in, and I've already learned so much! I always love your vids, Joy, but this one was extra spectacular! I can't believe how much I learned, and how fun it was learning it.
What a wonderful tutorial! I so wish I had found you sooner. My learning curve could have been greatly reduced. I’m going to download this pattern now. Thanks so much!!!
YOU'RE THE BEST!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TEACHING US HOW TO FIT.

GOD BLESS YPU
Thanks for the high chest pinch tip as I always have that problem.
Jeanie Peterson I am so excited that now I know how to fix the gap. 😁
