Thank you so very much for this, Ellen. Something I was always curious about. This is not very common in South Africa so thanks a lot. I really want to add this to my product line😊
Hi Ellen, just wanted to thank you again for this video. I just finished pouring wax melts for family gifts. Love your videos and many blessing to you and your family. Merry Christmas🎄❤️🎄
Making candles is a complicated business but wax melts seem to be an easier option. Thanks for your tutorial. I really want to have a go at making these now.
I have never used a wax melt before, but listening to you is so inspiring, I think I'll try using one and maybe even making my own wax melts. Thank you!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💖👩🏽 Love watching your channel.
Hi sweets! I've started making wax melts too! Use POB and Online Labels as well 🙃 Thanks for giving me courage to add more FO 😊 Mine didn't have a strong HT at first. So I added more FO and they're much better! 1. I also looked up the flash point of each FO and noticed a couple were at 160 degrees, so I waited for the wax to cool down more. I think that helped too??? Maybe just convincing myself??? 🤷🏼♀️. 2. I put glitter in a couple, but I might try the sugar sprinkles too! 3. Do I need to put the ingredients on the label, i.e. Yellow #5 candle dye color, fragrance, type of wax etc? I'm not sure about labeling requirements for Melts. 4. Have you found different companies FO do better in Melts? (Crafters Choice, Natures Gardent, etc.?) Thanks for all your help, once again! My first public event is in a couple weeks!! And yes, those clam shells do jump out of your hands 😂
Hi This is amazing And this is new to me!!! What is the best way to use them.. Not as a candle isnt'it ??? I would like to make some and print instructions on the sticker . Thanks
i just came across your channel and i had a passion for melts for years and i decide i want to to this but i need to know about does labels please do a video how to make the labels im ready to start thank you
Welcome! Glad you're here. Labels are my weak point, I'm super tech challenged🤣 But the tools I use are Avery.com and Onlinelabels.com, both have label designer options.
Ok so these have a flat top but at the bottom you’re able to see the 6 different cubes….what happens when I go to take one out? Do I have to use a knife to carve out a cube?
Hi Great video and fun to watch I’m new so I’m just wondering. I think you put in 3 oz FO to 1 lbs of wax, that about 18-19% load.. My wax pro blend 650 says only 10-12% load. Does your wax handle a larger load? Or can melts in general handle a larger load? Thanks
Hello Ellen Ruth Soap How are you? what kind of stuff can you put in your wax tarts like dry flowers or glitters? can you able to make a list of the stuff we can put in the wax tarts
Thanks so much for sharing they all look so beautiful Im thinking of starting a wax melt business and I have a few questions if you don’t mind me asking you first do you not have to use the warning labels and what size are the labels you are using on the front of your wax melt thanks in advance 💜💜💜💜💜💜 love the helpful information
I have pure beeswax pellets - just for me at home, can I just put a tablespoon of the pellets in the melting pot and a drops of essential oils for scents? You heated yours, so wondering if heat helps with the scents in any way...thanks!
Hi Ellen, do you still use Pillar of Bliss wax? I'm looking for a new wax to try out. I'm currently testing C55 and it doesn't give a good cold throw. I've used TW30, but the scent doesn't last long.
I wish I could smell these! They came out so wonderful! I bought the POB recently to make wax melts but I think the clamshells I got aren't as big as yours lol probably my eyes deceiving me. Would you be willing to share where you got those clamshells from? I got mine from Maple Street through Amazon.
You can add up to 3 oz of fragrance per lb, but it really depends on how strong the fragrance is. Sometimes you don't need that much... Just add up the total volume of melted wax with F.O. and divide my the size of your clamshell, that should give you an accurate number.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you so much!! and one more question, at what temp do you pour into the clamshells? i was reading some reviews on different brands of and most of them say the highest temperature they can go is 150/160 degrees!
I've been really struggling with my HT, I've been trying this same technique with the same wax and percentage of FO. Do you suggest a minimum cure time? I'm also trying a small percentage of vybar 103, but still waiting for those to cure a bit. I'm starting to drive myself nuts! Thank you for your videos, I've learned a lot from them!
Yes you can. The amount of essential oils used and the temperature you add them will be different as you can’t add essential oils at such a hot temperature.
Another lovely video, as always! Thanks so much for sharing!🤗 By the way, does the craft paper you use for your labels come with that color, or do customize yourself? I really love the color of your labels. It's beautiful! 🌺 I have a skin care business and I use OnlineLables as well. I'm working on men's collection, and I was thinking a color like this would be great for the labels? Idk. My containers are black and clear, so I'm trying to find something that would go well with them.
Hi Ellen, as always, thank you so much for your amazing videos. I have a question regarding the sprinkles you use, are they just regular sugar sprinkles? Do they have to be removed before melting? Have a great day!
Wow! You are so generous with all of your tutorials. These are beautiful! I've been trying to get my gumption up to do wax melts- I've had requests for them, but find them intimidating for some reason. I've seen some recipes use mica to color- do you have an opinion on that? Thanks again, you're very encouraging 😁

I thought about making some wax melts for my mom in law because she burns them all the time but they're very cheap ones. The strange thing is when she burns the cheap ones and then cooks food that was nearby like potatoes, you can taste it in the food! She don't taste it but we definitely do lol. I like your video. Your wax melts are so beautiful. I have a question how many clamshells do you make from Lb of wax?
That depends on the size of clam shell you're using. And be sure to factor in the volume of fragrance too.
Thanks for this. I was getting no HT at 9% - I’m bumping it way up!! I want the scent to punch me in the face! Lol 😂🙌

Pillar of Bliss has paraffin which I do not wish to use, what would you advise is the next best?
You could use a soy wax, but it will be softer.

@EllenRuthSoap Thanks Ellen, can you recommend a supplier?
Hi Ellen i love your videos, i have a question, can you add the Fo by manufacture wax rate or you own rate?

for a wax melt, you can go a bit higher because there is not flame and it's not a skin product.

it depends on the size of you clamshell, when you purchase them they should tell you how many oz or grams they hold.
