Loved all your tips Ellen!! I've been making candles for several years now. After 3 years, I finally got the tip to use baby wipes for any spills. That was a HUGE help, as it works better than any other cleaner I had tried. I love your channel because you share so much of your hard earned experience! Thanks so much!
Love your mention of "buying in bulk"! Money saver right there!!! Managed to haggle with a lady on virgin beeswax a couple of years ago...(beeswax cappings, will produce a pure white candle when dipped or poured without bleaching or dying! Worth its own weight in gold! Lucky for me, she didn't know that, balm to my conscience, neither did I, yet.only thing is, being cappings and virgin, first use, no honey scent, well worth that sacrifice for the natural white colour! Just over scent anything else its paired with!
I just have to say…THANK YOU 🤍🌻 for being so informative with your videos. I’ve been watching them for over a year now, and I have finally gotten some supplies up to start my own small business!
I stumbled on your channel this morning and 4 hours later I'm still binge watching you! I have been making my own shower scrub for 3 years, but what you have taught me so far it's going to elevate it to the next level. Thank you so much for doing these videos.
Loved this video Ellen ,would be good to see more like this , thanks for taking the time to show us. Your such a lovely person and i wish you all the success you deserve .
I just came across your videos and I am so happy I did. Thank you for sharing. This video is very informative. This is one of the best wax tutorials that I've watch so far. I am going to order the wax right now.
Thank you so much! I learned more in this video on wax melts than I have watching dozens of others! I am sure you know but I have seen others freeze spoons to dip in the wax to test the color.
Thanks Ellen...I have been trying for a long time to get a good scent throw. I'm going to try some of your recommendations. I love your channel and watch them back to back
Good morning Ellen! Thank you for another wonderful video.. they turned out so cute!! Wax melts are definitely a hit or miss for me.. I use 2oz to a lb in my pillar of bliss wax. I add at 180 degrees and stir for 2 mins. Some are great some not so much lol.. food scents are my fave! I hope you have a wonderful day 😊
flashpoints are only for shipping and gel candles. they have nothing to do with when to add it in. it is true though that you don't want to add your FO in when your wax is too hot because it will burn off some of it so it's best to let it cool a little bit and add it right before you pour.
Awe, I just have to add that my friend and I share christian inspiration stories or wisdom and today she shared with me that the lesson of today was slow down. Dont be in such a rush for everything and let things work according to Creators time. It paired perfectly with what you said Ellen ❤🙏
Ellen!!!! It never dawned on me that I could "break the rules" with wax melts -- GAME-CHANGER! I have been so frustrated lately with disappearing fragrances that I was going to toss 40 pounds of different kinds of waxes. You just saved me money and all the frustration. Thank you!!
New subbie. I’m so exited to start with simple melts. I love a stronger fragrance than any I’ve ever bought so they will the melts of my dreams and unique. Thank you so much 🌹💕🌷
I so enjoyed watching this video as I do with all your videos. I love the idea of adding more fragrance to the melted wax without saying, as so many do, 1ounce of fragrance per pound of wax. I have changed over to Pillar of Bliss from 464 soy and ProBlend 650 because I think I needed a strong wax to up hold the molds I use and now I can add extra fragrance oil without feeling I'm doing something wrong. Thanks once again.
Teacher Ellen, thank you very much for this tutorial! You inspired me to learn making wax melts! I've no idea about this at all! Teacher Ellen, can I use gel wax, the transparent wax to make wax melts? Thank you, Teacher Ellen! Once again, thank you so so much🙇🙇🙇🙏🙏🙏❤❤
Very cute tarts! I've made soy mix tarts before and I'm like you, I love mine strong lol!! I love my rooms to smell really nice, I even have neighbors that walk by my trailer and tell me it smells so nice when they walk by lol, they ask me where do I get them and I tell them I made them 😊.
Great video, can just imagine how good that place of yours smelled! Marshmallow fireside is one of my favorites and the longer it burns the stronger it gets! A tip on cleaning molds, use a bottle brush and hot soapy water scrub them good pushing up with your fingers from the bottom of the molds to get the corners good, then throw in dishwasher if silicone not plastic..boom come out perfectly clean!
You have saved my sanity ! I have wondered if I could use those plastic pouring measure cups because I have a ton from my MP stuff that I no longer use. I too have the hardest time pouring and not making a mess ( didn't used to be this way but now? lol ) Was curious where you are in TN. I lived in Gatlinburg for 10 years and miss living up there horribly ! I use 4794 because of the same reason you use POB, living in South Bama now, the heat omg ! Least with this wax I don't worry about melting from the sun/heat here
These are so cute the brown ones look like chocolates to me, you could use a chocolate fragrance for them, they would have to be labelled "don't eat me", thank you for sharing with us 😊
Hi Ellen...I know this tutorial was done a couple of years ago and I love it! Can any type of glitter be used or is there a special kind for wax? I have a bunch in my cart from your Amazon affiliate store. Just want to check on the glitter. Thanks and have a blessed day. 😊
These are awesome! Thank you for the tips. I think I want to try that wax and get a bit more creative...Question...how do you clean your containers and molds? Wipe out with paper towel and use soap and water? Thanks for the video!
I use mica in my wax melts and my ladies and gents love the effect I too make my wax melts super strong too and that is why I have such a good following for my wax melts. My fragrance weight to wax weight is about the same as yours so I can imagine how good they smell. Do you package yours singularly or in a mixed bag of for eg Bakery Day, or Farmers Market, Perfumery Day or Day at the Florist type bags ?
@@EllenRuthSoap my best seller is Sweetpea and Jasmine, Coconut cream( Bramble berry), Kakadu plum, Purple hooters( Nature's Garden) anything citrus is always a favourite.
These are adorable! I have some of the same molds and love them. What would be your recommendations for packaging (both item packaging and shipping) since these are not poured into a clam shell?
Hi 🥰 Do the fragrances with vanillin discolor? If so how do you combat that? I'm thinking of making some vanilla ones for myself but don't want them to be brown 😭
Many people do not understand what flash point is. It has nothing to do with the temperature that you add it to your base. Yes some fragrance might be lost if added to a really hot (boiling) base. But the flash point is referring to the point at which the fragrance would be combustible when exposed to a flame. I've watched hundreds of soap and candle tutorials and the same incorrect information is being taught in most of them. Ellen Ruth, I enjoy your videos and your positive attitude, but many people explain flash point incorrectly.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve used the same wax multiple times now with multiple different scents and the scents always seems to fad within a day of putting in the wax warmers around my house even people I gave samples out to for testing had same issues
Hey Cupcake!! Thank you soooo much for doing a wax melt video. I started making them and I too bought the Pillar of Wax along with some foodie fragrances. The fragrances smelled fabulous in the bottle and cold throw. BUT when it came to Hot Throw it was barely noticeable and I even ended up putting 3 oz. of FO in 9 oz. of wax and the Hot Throw only scented a very small area (like a small bathroom size) 😒 These FO were supposedly for wax and candles. Have you noticed if different places have better FO for the wax melts? Even at 3 oz a half pound, these particular FO's aren't half as strong as the cheap ones at Walmart. If so, could you give your recommendations pleeeease. 🙏 I'm about to give up otherwise, because I can't make any profit putting that much FO in the batches. 🤷🏼♀️. Have a wonderful week!!!
It does get pricey using that much F.O.... I've had a "hit or miss" relationship with some scents, it is frustrating when the cheap store ones are so strong. I've found that some fragrances are just better/stronger than others while melting..
Super cute, very create & I thought I could smell them through the screen.... you also always have such great tips!!
Thanks so much! 😊

Great suggestion ❣️ I’ll put that on my to do list

Hey love how much FO DO YOU USE FOR ALL YOUR WAX MELTS.
How long would you suggest to let your wax melts cure before testing?
I find a week is a good cure time..
These are adorable! I have some of the same molds and love them. What would be your recommendations for packaging (both item packaging and shipping) since these are not poured into a clam shell?
I have self seal "sleeve" bags that I stack them into. They can still get a bit bumped around, but not too bad.
@Ellen Ruth Soap Thank you. Much appreciated it. 💖
What size are your bags?
Could you tell me where you got the Bundt cake silicone molds please Thank you
Amazon
How do you package the tarts?
I bundle them in a small cello bag.
Hi 🥰 Do the fragrances with vanillin discolor? If so how do you combat that? I'm thinking of making some vanilla ones for myself but don't want them to be brown 😭
I don't think the vanillin discolors the wax too much, it's mostly soaps that have an issue
Can I use regular beeswax?
Beeswax has such a high melting point and is pretty sticky, I wouldn't suggest it for a wax melt.
@@EllenRuthSoap what can I add to beeswax can be regular palm oil?
maam , Are you using eatable sprinkle?
Yes, those are simply sugar pearls
What temp did you pour at?
I like to pour at just under 160-150
Thank you so much for answering me.My 9 yr started his own wax Melt business and we are always looking for a lil help..thanks again.
can i use liquid dye or is chipped dyes better ?
Both types of candle dye work beautifully.

Where is your heat gun from? The one I got from Amazon randomly stopped working 🙄
I got mine at Hobby Lobby years ago. I added a link to the Amazon version of the one I'm using.
Hey hun how much FO DID YOU USE HUN?
I say the amount in the video. It's approx. 3 oz per lb of wax
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve used the same wax multiple times now with multiple different scents and the scents always seems to fad within a day of putting in the wax warmers around my house even people I gave samples out to for testing had same issues
