candle/wax crafts became an addiction really quick for me. i just started a week ago and i have a big box from candlescience coming tomorrow lol ill be watching your videos if i need any tips
With 921 I recently been pouring at 160…I know you said it should be at 170..have you tested the difference or what are your thoughts on it. I am just trying to avoid some shrinkage pouring it a little cooler.
hello how do I work with the container wax, I order a large amount and they don't accept return even if its not open. any advice on how to use it for wax tarts. it was too soft and wouldn't pop out when I found out they won't accept the return. also my other question is when I am measuring in grams when my wax is solid I get a little bit over the amount I need for my clam shells at 17g leftover which is fine for samples. however when I melt the wax and pour it out instead of having over I am a whole 70 g short (instead of 4 filled ,I only have 3 filled) what am I calculating wrong. I went online for the cal and it says my measurement is correct but yet when its liquid the grams is not right
Hello, I got a quick question. Every time I make my candles I got bad headaches and also the feeling to throw up. Is because of the fragrance oils. Even though I love the smell of them all it makes me dizzy. Am I the only sensible one? What are your opinions about this? Do you have this problem?
look into a better quality fragrance or essential oil. Thats the exact reason so many people get sick from store bought candles, a lot of fake fragrances or "impure" ones can make you incredibly sick. They are poison.
I find that I can get away with using a higher percentage of fragrance oil with melts than I can with candles, for the simple reason that I don’t have to worry about a wick. What say you?
No wick means no fire, and there are a lot of wax melters machines out there to fill rooms with scent without ever lighting a match. There’s a market, however small.
I love mine. I have a Yankee candle frameless melter so I can leave it on when I’m not in that room without the paranoia that something may catch fire haha
With the hot plate do you sit your pitcher directly on it? I’ve always thought it was just a portable stove top burner for a double boiler. This would make things so much easier for me.
@@mesaphooo5284 if u have a weighing scale and a volumetric flask/cylinder /beaker you can easily know all details you need. Experts says, just follow the rules mass to mass ratio or volume to volume ratio.
Hello, my name is Austin . I am the sales manager of the company's international department. We are a paraffin wax production company that cooperates with CNPC(China National Petroleum Corporation)which is the largest company in China. Due to our direct cooperation with CNPC ,we have unique advantages in terms of quality and price. Our products are exported to Australia, the United States, Mexico and Vietnam all the year round. The paraffin wax produced is extremely stable and will not change color after long-term storage. It would be our utmost honor to establish a business relationship with your esteemed company. Looking forward to hearing from you.
You are using a scale that has 1g subdivision and that means that is not accurate enough for measuring FO. With your scale you don't know if you are measuring 33g or 33.99g...which is 1g more. For large batches it might not be important, but it is for small batches because your end product has more than 9% FO. Also...you should never melt wax directly on the heat source. I'm new in this...but this is common sense. And the last thing: yes, be afraid to put your wax back on the heat after you added FO because that will evaporate your FO... so many bad advice in this video.
your videos really help me grow as a candle maker

great video. I'm looking into candle making and will watch all of your pointers/tips!
Very accurate measurement...lol I'm a beginner and this video was most helpful....Thanks
Thank you, I barely started trying on wax melts, I did everything wrong, and wasted a lot of oil fragrance. :( This will help me a lot.
Glad I could help!
I have been wondering where you've been!

I’m stoked for you!
So what is the recommended cure time for wax melts??
If you don't mind me asking where do your clamshell molds? Most I've seen recommend pour temps of around 150F.
Candle Science sells clamshell molds that are rated at 180 degrees
Hello, dear professor, what was the second liquid inside the glass?

Im in Zimbabwe desiring to start candle business yo videos are so helpful . Getting the suplies is a big challenge
i use pillar of bliss wax for my wax melts. How long should I cure before melting?
What😮 it's ok to bring the wax with FO if the temperature goes down it will not affect the scent?
Hi
I recently made a big batch of candles and screwed up my FO measurements. Is there anyway to fix under scented candles ?
Really great video.
Hello! How can l calculate the burning time of the candle?Thank you very much!
I could not find the calculation/conversion. why did you divided by 1.09 grams ? what does it mean?
this is 9% of the perfume that he use
Is there a difference if I use fragrance oil and essential oil? Just curious. Thanks!
If i remember correctly, fragrance will give you a better scent as in stronger/lasts longer in comparison of essential oils
@@lycheeweirdo1371 Agreed , I use to make them with essential oils and not much scent
where is the .86 coming from?
Please tell me where I can get a beaker that measures grams. Like the one you use for fragrance oil

Where are the link for the worksheet?
Hi! What wax do you use? Can it be bees wax?
Beeswax, Soy wax or Paraffin

What wax do you use for melts?
In this video he used BW-921 wax.
Cool scale. Where'd you get it??
Why did you multiply the result x6. Wasn't that the final result?
Followed the recipe to the T and allowed it to cure for 3 weeks and went to test them and the hot throw is non-existent...
What's a hot throw ??

I know some people who do not feel too good when making candles, they will purchase a respirator. You might want to look into that.

do you use paraffin wax
I find that I can get away with using a higher percentage of fragrance oil with melts than I can with candles, for the simple reason that I don’t have to worry about a wick. What say you?
Yes, but usually not more than the amount the wax is capable of holding.
Nice job, I think we probably can cooperate on candle
What is the point of these wax melts?

I dont see the curing time
Why times by 0.86
Conversion rate from water’s specific gravity to wax.

I just place that bad boy right on the hot plate.
Directly heating wax like that is incredibly dangerous! This is such an irresponsible way to show people how to heat wax!
@@amandaw26475 lol those hot plates have adjustable temp. Obviously it’s not on high but a slow, low heat
@@hoptoit5910 Even the lowest setting on a hotplate is too hot. Stupid and dangerous thing to do!
Wouldn't it be .09 not 1.09
The weight of water can't be assumed as the weight of the wax because they don't have the same densities.
I was about to say that.

Ce bine ar fi daca ar avea subtitrare în română
this wax does not have a good hot throw
I’ve been using it and the throw fills the air really well. I have some that don’t but that comes down to the quality of oils or strength of the oils.
Sorry not helpful !! Got completely lost with your measures plus you speak very fast .
