Hi, Nick! Thank you for another GREAT video! It just happens that I love making wax melts/tarts for friends of mine who have no business being near a candle flame!!!! I would like to have your opinion of the wax that I currently use for melts/tarts. Although I am grateful for your ideas about blending waxes, I have never been quite secure enough to try that. Instead, I have relied upon Pillar of Bliss (Nature's Garden). I get wonderful cold and hot throw, and the melts release easily from the clamshell. Have you tried Pillar of Bliss? If you have used it, how does it compare with the wax blend that you demonstrated in this video presentation? I really am curious about your thoughts. Again, thank you for your work in this art/business, and thank you, too, for sharing so much. As always, your video presentations have a way of keeping me current in candle making. Take care!
Hey Charles! I unfortunately have never used Pillar of Bliss but I’ve heard good things about it! It’s on a very long list of waxes I’d like to try someday but not sure if it’ll be anytime soon unfortunately. But if I do or I find someone else who has I’ll let ya know! 😄 And thank you so much for watching! That truly means the world! Glad I could help in some way! 😄❤️
It’s a great blend! A lot of my customers say they’re better and stronger than Bath & Body Works Candles! ❤ But I’ve thought about trying PB 100 too! I’ve heard good things!
@@the1994candleco It’s made in Australia. It’s soy, palm, paraffin, and vegetable stuff (I have no idea what veggies is in it lol). I love it. I’ve had it hold 18-21% FO without secreting the oil.
I just subscribed. I enjoy your videos and how easy you teach. I've been looking for best wax for wax melts and this was perfect because I already use 6006. Thank you!
someone took this recipe and slightly altered the measurements and is selling it on their pateron btw, i was subscribed to theirs specifically to have access to the recipe & noticed it was basically the same as this. i wasnt sure if u were aware so i thought i would let you know. thank you for this video.
Thanks for letting me know! Yeah similar recipes have been making the rounds for awhile now, even before I started so it's not like I came up with it 100% on my own. Although most people do different percentages, after testing these percentages and several others, these have been what works best for me! I don't like actually "own" the recipe or anything. But I'm sorry you paid for it only to find out you could get it here for free!! 😅
Thank you I have almost all Midwest fo I love them I just blended 50/50 pumpkin pecan waffles and peanut brittle it is🔥🔥🔥🔥 I got my waxes from Aztec and I bought some fo from them as well have you tried any from Aztec? My favorite is Midwest out of all the fo. My best seller for room spray is the one you use in this video❤
@@j23dowell I've only tried a handful from Aztec and unfortunately they weren't great throwers for me. I could barely smell them so I haven't tried any more recently but I may try some again! I've got some from them still sitting that I just never tried. Lol! And Pumpkin Pecan Waffles and Peanut Brittle sounds ammmazzzing!! 🤤 I may have to try that.
I thought they were too light as well from Aztec I think I’m only going to get my 6006 wax from them and not the oils. So far the rest of my oils have all been Midwest and they are strong. 💜 Do you have a pineapple scent? I’m looking for a good pineapple 💜
Great video! This confirmed for me my thought on adding a little parrafin wax to my Apri-Coco Wax for firmer, less messy melts! Everything else seems to be just as making my candles as well... but did I miss the approximate temp you poured into the clamshells? (I purchased mine from a candle supplier: either Makesy, Dream Vessels, or 16 17 some months ago lol) Thank you!
I usually don’t pay too much attention to what temp I pour! 🥴🤣 But I’d say it’s probably around 140-150ish. I pour fragrance usually around 180 and then stir for maybe 2-3 minutes. By then it should be cool enough to not melt the clamshells. Haha!
@the1994candleco Okay, sounds about right lol That's about how it works out for me with my candles also, but I just wanted to make sure since melts are something totally new for me to begin experimenting with... thank you, again🌹
Yeah technically you can blend any wax together! Haha! I’ve never done those together so I don’t know what your results will be exactly! I would recommend starting around 10%-20% probably and go from there! It kinda depends on if you’re just trying to harden the wax or get a stronger scent throw or what exactly you’re trying to achieve! 😄
New here and watching your video. Thank you for going over everything and going slow about each thing.
@@cherylrigney8108 Absolutely! Thanks for being here! ❤️

I love this! I will have to try this blend. I use problend 650 now. I love it but always want to experiment!

My pleasure 😄 I’m so glad I could help! ❤
I use Soy A27. I love the texture of it and it throws really well, but it’s really hard to get in the USA.
Oh I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that wax! Is it 100% soy? That’s awesome! 😄

I use 464 soy wax for squeezable melts … can I use it for these ?
I’m sure you could! I can’t say for sure how it’ll perform cause I’ve never used 464 but you could definitely try it out!
Hi Nick, do you think I could mix problend 650 with igi 4625? What percentage would you recommend?
