    Wow. Unbeleivable content. Congrats to u guys and the owner for his info. Like its been said this is what real content is and a true modifiyer. I hate guys that do sick mods but keep its specs a secret, it just kills tech advancement. Its so refreshing to hear a guy just easily give out his cam degree specs. We modifyers should be helping each other not holding each other back. Dry sump, custom brakes and a pedal box just so he could get that incredible intake in. Wow. The throttles. What a work of art. I have never seen something so good in a street car. Thats a barrel throttle btw. well done. This stuff is legendary.

    The unofficial name for this engine we usually call it the 9A-GE because of the 1.9L displacement.
    Interesting story behind his rides and the past history of this AE86 being turboed.
    I lol at the zip tied ECU box in the glove box. Sad to see the stock cluster cant be reused. But prob be useless with such a high revving 9A-GE 16V.
    Those Evo brakes are prob overkill for this lightweight monster. But prob because of the past turbo nature.
    Didnt know those valve covers are part of the chassis structure for the Formula Alantic series. Mostly seen the flatter ones similar to the stock 4AGE units.
    Damn those ITBs looks mean than the usual aftermarket ITBs on the 20V 4AGE.
    I wonder whats the flow rate and the injectors used.

      Lin Chester what’s better, a 16v bigport or a 20v for power per $ spent? Looking at a 6th gen celica st with a 7afe as a cheaper little project and would do the head swap to the 7age... don’t want boost I got my Speed6 for that. Not looking for crazy n/a hp numbers I’d be good with 150 whp and fun revs, car to toss around the mountain roads in my area

    • @linchester8464
      @linchester8464 5 лет назад +1

      @@sleeper.simulant7327 Big port is great for high rpm application. The small port will be better as a daily.
      I will still think you should look over the 4A/7A. Price wise of building the 7AGE 20V it cost as much as the more modern 3S Beams which is way more powerful abd reliable.

    • @sleeper.simulant7327
      @sleeper.simulant7327 5 лет назад

      Lin Chester I’ve heard the 3s BEAMS are crazy expensive and hard to find, at least here in the states they are. 4a parts are seemingly everywhere, at least where I live, and they aren’t super expensive. Then again I own a Speed6/6 MPS so I’m used to parts being expensive lol

    • @linchester8464
      @linchester8464 5 лет назад +1

      @@sleeper.simulant7327 thing is thou the 7A still needs parts to convert from FWD to RWD use. Lots of parts add up to the cost of the 7A build. Belts pulleys since the 7A block is taller and timing belts need to be re-configured. Ignition system may need to be upgraded since the stock distributor system will not keep up with the new displacement. Trigger wheel, crank position sensor to be used for ignition system. Meaning a new ECU. Bell housing for RWD application and may need to modify the firewall to accept the 20V since it may interfere the hood and the firewall clearance. The list goes on. I have yet to touch the driveline and suspension.
      Its better you research on the 7AGE 20V conversion and the total cost.
      Here is the guide for 3S conversion.

    Correction: The hump on the valve cover is not because the engine was a structural part of the Formula Atlantic. That was the alternator bracket. A valve cover cannot be structural.

    • @dan4age
      @dan4age 4 года назад

      The valve cover is solid bolted to the head the same way an alloy sump is, it increases rigidity of the head and the gearbox is bolted to the rear and the front to the chassis

    just like a 4AGE stroked is a 1.8L 5.5AGE.. or something like that (since there is already a 5A block, 1.5L, slapping a GE head on, its basically a 5AGE, hence the 5.5AGE to lessen the confusion...)

      It's just called a 7A because it uses the 7A bottom end. There is no 9A swap for these engines, with the 1.8L 7A-FE being the largest displacement in it's class. It's stroked to be 1.9L sure, but it's still a 7A bottom end, is my understanding.

      @@Mantenner there is no "9A." They call it 9A because stroker with 4age head. look up "9AGE stroker kit"

      @@MaximusPsychosis I know, I said that lol. That's just an aftermarket name, the 9A doesn't come from anywhere, I guess by that standard then yes this engine is a 9AGE, but that's not what it officially is by hardware. It should be called a stroked 7AGE, because thats what it is.

      @@Mantenner true true, it is a name 2 or 3 stroker kit manufacturers call it, it doesn't change the number stamped on the engine block. (unless someone thinks its the best thing to do, not legal in most places)

      Maximus Psychosis yeh I guess there no harm in calling it either, 9age because it’s stroked more then a 7a and is 1.9L, it 7age because it’s a 7a block, either works :)

    is the dry sump good for daily driven car?

      I mean, it wouldn't do anything for you if you're not revving it high, and also the amount of money it takes to run a dry sump system is not worth it. Uness you plan to fuck shit up on the streets

      Take more mods to produce HP.... besides its a NA.... 2rz Na vs This, cmon..... only chance a 2rz would have is to turbo it, and that's alot of money being thrown at it..

      No, I believe it's the 4A head on the 7AFE block, gives a little extra stroke.

      Why not a 20v head on 7a block? Piston clearance issues?
