We modifyers should be helping each other not holding each other back. Dry sump, custom brakes and a pedal box just so he could get that incredible intake in. Wow. The throttles. What a work of art. I have never seen something so good in a street car. Thats a barrel throttle btw. well done. This stuff is legendary.

Ive owned two AE86s, One Trueno and one very clean ADM Sprinter. I still have Kouki panda panels, bonnet and bumper in the shed, guess i can go and look at that lol Great car and vid!

The unofficial name for this engine we usually call it the 9A-GE because of the 1.9L displacement. Interesting story behind his rides and the past history of this AE86 being turboed. I lol at the zip tied ECU box in the glove box. Sad to see the stock cluster cant be reused. But prob be useless with such a high revving 9A-GE 16V. Those Evo brakes are prob overkill for this lightweight monster. But prob because of the past turbo nature. Didnt know those valve covers are part of the chassis structure for the Formula Alantic series. Mostly seen the flatter ones similar to the stock 4AGE units. Damn those ITBs looks mean than the usual aftermarket ITBs on the 20V 4AGE. I wonder whats the flow rate and the injectors used.
Lin Chester what’s better, a 16v bigport or a 20v for power per $ spent? Looking at a 6th gen celica st with a 7afe as a cheaper little project and would do the head swap to the 7age... don’t want boost I got my Speed6 for that. Not looking for crazy n/a hp numbers I’d be good with 150 whp and fun revs, car to toss around the mountain roads in my area
@@sleeper.simulant7327 Big port is great for high rpm application. The small port will be better as a daily. I will still think you should look over the 4A/7A. Price wise of building the 7AGE 20V it cost as much as the more modern 3S Beams which is way more powerful abd reliable.
Lin Chester I’ve heard the 3s BEAMS are crazy expensive and hard to find, at least here in the states they are. 4a parts are seemingly everywhere, at least where I live, and they aren’t super expensive. Then again I own a Speed6/6 MPS so I’m used to parts being expensive lol
@@sleeper.simulant7327 thing is thou the 7A still needs parts to convert from FWD to RWD use. Lots of parts add up to the cost of the 7A build. Belts pulleys since the 7A block is taller and timing belts need to be re-configured. Ignition system may need to be upgraded since the stock distributor system will not keep up with the new displacement. Trigger wheel, crank position sensor to be used for ignition system. Meaning a new ECU. Bell housing for RWD application and may need to modify the firewall to accept the 20V since it may interfere the hood and the firewall clearance. The list goes on. I have yet to touch the driveline and suspension. Its better you research on the 7AGE 20V conversion and the total cost. Correction: The hump on the valve cover is not because the engine was a structural part of the Formula Atlantic. That was the alternator bracket. A valve cover cannot be structural.
The valve cover is solid bolted to the head the same way an alloy sump is, it increases rigidity of the head and the gearbox is bolted to the rear and the front to the chassis
Tuned by an extremely reputable shop in Sydney. I think we are just used to huge power figures these days. Track times will tell the true story. Same at the drags; MPH doesn't lie
Arch Yeah but an MG/Rover K Series 1.8 can turn out 180 with just a cam swap, VVT delete and a map... I think the stroker kits working against him in this NA application, he’d probably be better off making it more square again bore/stroke wise and reving it to like 11k

Not trying to put anything down it's an impressive build, just curious about the technical aspect, you know? Is there more work to do on the cam gears? Or trumpet length? Maybe a combination of the two or any other aspect, as we cant see dyno sheet to see where the torque peaks and dips are

Plus the 7age has better low end torque and driveability then a modded 4age, better power curve as well. Peak numbers won’t be much different from the stroker

so what makes a 9AGE? i thought it was a 1.9L stroked 7A with GE head.. or is this missing something that makes it a niner? to my way of thinking, 7AFE + 4AGE head makes a 7AGE, but to stroke it out from 1.8 to 1.9, its make its a 9AGE.. just like a 4AGE stroked is a 1.8L 5.5AGE.. or something like that (since there is already a 5A block, 1.5L, slapping a GE head on, its basically a 5AGE, hence the 5.5AGE to lessen the confusion...)

125 KW, wich is different then HP. if we translate KW to HP, then it has 170HP. Wich isnt bad for a 16v 7AGE. Stock they have 130ish HP

I am not pro but if you do destroke you will lose cr so you will need to shave block to bring cr up again
