If only the AE86s were produced en masse like the Miata. Toyota could churn out close to 500K units for both Trueno and Levi for 15 years if it wants to. It's one of the best affordable performance car.
stock power rating for the blacktop 20v 4age are actually closer to 155hp and that was at 7800 rpm. its actually pretty impressive how trd was able to get 240hp from it even if it was a 11000rpm.
Damn, who else wishes they had skills equal to Keiichi Tsuchiya? I can do Braking drifts and Feint drifts like KT in my S14, but never as good as Kei Tsuchiya...

304 degrees camshaft, trd head, dry oil sump, 11.5 compression ratio, trd crankshaft, try pistons and rods both forged. ect ect. If you want to have all the specs to build one, search in the corolla bible, you have all the reference, parts needed and miling/polishing details
When toyota had real engines, and not the crap they use today such as those crap electric motors and cvt gearboxes. If you gonna buy any new toyota just watch some old toyotas and the legendary engines, you will forget about the new ones.
That was pretty much the old setup of that TRD N2 AE86, and this footage came out in late 90's. It clocked at 1:00:78 in its most recent setup (15" RS Watanabe wheels, different cam profile and gear ratio, N2 spoiler extension, etc.)
Still takumi XD cause Project D did the same settings, lower the RPM to allow higher average power. Instead of having a high RPM but rarely used to the max. It wasn't until the finale that limiter is removed.

It was not making 240hp @ 11000rpm in this video. It makes 220hp @ 10000rpm
