      @wimmj6952 yeah, it's definitely hard to find one that's in between rust bucket and six figures. Hopefully I'll track down the right one. Been looking for years now. One that's pretty much rust free, but isn't perfect. Just a solid project. Might have to import one from Europe/Asia/Australia/South America. Probably Asia, but hopefully I can find one locally that's hiding in a garage.

      @skylineXpert exactly! I've been looking at Caldina wagons that are 4wd/awd, & I think they're turbocharged as well. A Celica GT_Four is a pipe dream anymore, but I'm keeping an eye out for one at all times. Plus numerous other dream cars. Like a 76' Corolla SR5 Liftback, since my family had a new one that they bought off the lot & it was gorgeous. A really nice blue with black trim

      When you clamp it down washer thingys compress and push up on another part opening an airflow path around the perimeter of the restrictor funnel between the outer casing and the restrictor

    • @inz1
      @inz1 2 месяца назад +20

      Very simply, there were washers in the intake restrictor that worked as a cantilever when they were squeezed.
      When you tightened the hose clamp, the washers pivoted on the housing and levered the restrictor forward, which allowed air to travel around the outside of the restrictor and in behind it. Bypassing the restrictor allowed the engines more air. More air means more power.
      It’s a difficult concept to explain, much more easily demonstrated. But essentially, when you tightened the intake hose clamp around the turbo, it pushed down on a washer that moved along a ramp which pivoted the restrictor forward.

    • @Graham_Patch
      @Graham_Patch 2 месяца назад

      RUclips comment sections are full of people claiming to know how the cheat worked. I don't believe any of them, since I've yet to see anyone adequately explain it. So far it's nothing but a load of dilettantes thinking that they can look like experts if they just mention 'belleville washer" and "hose clamp".

    Looking at the WRC, the political infighting, interests, regulation violations, and balance between rules and safety in F1 is terrible.
    In Japan, where discipline is very strict, Toyota's violation of WRC regulations is often discussed quite critically.
    However, in Europe, the home of WRC, there are many calm opinions.
    When it was reported that Toyota would return to the WRC with the Yaris, I remember that the reaction in Japan and Europe was completely different.
    Fortunately, Toyota has had a successful WRC season and is now highly regarded in all countries.
    I hope that the WRC will continue to spread as an exciting automobile race that will excite many fans.

    I wish motorsports (both WRC and DTM) went back to requiring homologation models.
    That gave us the most epic cars of all time. Like the Celica GT-4, Impreza 555/WRX-STi, Delta Integrale, but also the BMW E30 M3 and the Mercedes 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II
    Epic roadcars with true motorsports heritage.

    Wrx width 67.1 inches wheelbase 99.2 inches
    Celica width 68.9 inches
    Wheelbase 99.9 inches
    I doubt the dimensions had that much of an effect. Was probably just a better chasis/suspension and AWD technology. Considering those are the areas that in the end made Group A cars faster than Group B cars.

      Its crazy how very different the two cars feel.
      Not a perfect comparison but my stock st185 changes directions in a very different manner than any of my subarus, 05sti 06spec b, 96 leggy w v7 jdm sti running gear. To me and my driving style the subarus are much more grip and go and the st185 is much happier with the rear rotating. The st185 “feels” much more nimble but the subarus tend to grip just a bit harder and quicker out of corners.
      Just my experience. Hopefully adding an early evo to my fleet soon for even more compare/contrast

    I hope you like feedback...
    This felt more like a Wikipedia article about Group A than a story about a motorsports controversy. Where's the passion? Feels like it's not your wheelhouse. Like, who are you and what do you have to do with rally? Why should I care what you have to say, regardless of how well researched and edited the video is? I clicked for a story, not a collection of random rally facts. I could just ask AI if I wanted that. If I was new to motorsport I would've found this video very informative, but still not telling an engaging story. Not sure what you're trying to do here, maybe try talking to some fanatics or people who were somehow involved with the topic and really dig in next time. OR instead of making a CELICA GT-FOUR CHEAT video, make a video focused on Group A Rally in general so people aren't mislead.
    The description tells a more cohesive and concise story about the Celica than the video, I would've rather just read that on social media or something.
    You've obviously got some talent for video making so keep it up, I'm just saying as a motorsports enthusiast what I like to see. Cheers!

    And this is why FIA is a maffia and most people don't like motorsports. They pick and choose what manufacturers can and can't do, to penalize or help whatever manufacturer they choose. WRC and F1 are stacked with bullshit rules. I understand regulating for safety reasons (which FIA most of the times doesn't do) but everything else is just interfering with technological development and advancement. I love cars and I love races, but FIA organized motorsports are akin to comitee ruled USSR or China.
