Great video man!!! One word of caution to you and anyone else who watches and hopefully reads this... Paint sprayers work at around 2000-4000 psi, lower end of that for a sprayer like what's seen here. That is more than enough pressure to break skin and poses an injection hazard. If that sprayer is still at usage pressure and you blast your skin, you could be injecting water or paint under your skin, which requires IMMEDIATE surgical attention or it can cause a lot of issues up to and including death. Maybe just use the garden hose to clean your hands!! If you forget to turn the dial down you could put yourself in a world of hurt.
    Other than that great video!!!

Just bought this a couple of days ago and this video makes it a whole lot easier to learn how to use it (my first time) than mulling through the directions. Thanks for making this instructional video. Would be great if companies for whatever product they manufacture, not only keep including the directions with their product, but make an educational video of their own and include the link where you can go watch it.

Just got done painting my house with this sprayer.. used almost 10 gallons. I referenced your video a couple times in the beginning to get the sprayer primed and tuned in and also at the end of the day to clean the sprayer. Just wanted to reaffirm most of the comments I read here… your video/process is awesome and spot on! Thanks so much for sharing.

Just bought mine yesterday and sprayed two garage doors today.
Once you set that little machine up, you feel really upset there isn’t anymore paint to spray. You feel like painting everything.
Thanks for the how-to on this sprayer. It cam in handy.
I would say that when you think all the hoses and gun are clean, take a white t-shirt and spray it to make sure. The hand thing works but it doesn’t show the contrast as well as a white towel or shirt

Exactly what he said. Before someone can upload their instructional/review video, RUclips should make them watch this video and list at least three reasons why it is the gold standard. 🙇‍♂️ Eh, that will never happen. Maybe they could branch off like the Kid’s RUclips, but for fully functional adults instead.

This video is EXCELLENT on how to setup and use. I think its vital however to thin the paint because it kept clogging up and I had a long day taking it apart, cleaning it, reassembling it and wasting paint.

Absolutely love this item. I never really saw myself getting a paint sprayer until recent of course I decided I wanted to repaint my house of course. And the first one I use which was a smaller one A Wagner not a good choice.. I'm sure he had his qualities but for me horrific. But this machine itself does the job. Basically I now have a Powerhouse in which now I can do small jobs big jobs if needs. or if other people decide to call upon me to do a job of course. Even though I'm still learning it and there are a few drips that happened to occur during the painting process but it's all fine and dandy because I know I could just use a roller and a brush any single time I'm doing a paint job anywhere. Very good machine I am very happy with my little investment.

Hey Austin, Thanks for the video, just bought one of these and I appreciate the detailed instructions, well done. ⚠️ As a cautionary note, you should please probably think about removing the helpful hand cleaning tip from the end of the section. You obviously accomplished without harm, but somebody who isn’t paying attention might hurt themselves after seeing that. It has been stated in other comments, you can just as easily use a hose for that with no risk at all.

Great video Austin! My unit has a prime/clean setting, you mentioned setting the control knob to start. Some of the Graco Corporation videos are really confusing. I painted my whole exterior house with the project painter plus, worked great. I stained and sealed a huge wood fence and other projects. Keeping the unit clean with proper flushing is key and using Graco Pump Armor is critical, especially for winter storage. It's also good to deep clean with paint thinner according to professional painters I have talked to. I'm currently painting my kitchen oak cabinets which saves a lot of time from brushing and rolling. I purchased a fine finish low pressure 208 tip, (FFLP Switch Tip) and a compatible Rac X blue guard, it sprays awesome.

Austin Makes Stuff How about with oil based paints? I just bought this rig. I have been painting off and on for many years and lately been getting lots of odd jobs. Tomorrow I have to paint some wrought iron railing and a mailbox post. This will make quick work of it and the job will fund the purchase. However, I will need to use oil based paint. Will it need to be thinned at all and what about clean up? Im guessing I need to run thinner and or mineral spirits through it until its spraying clean?

Jon Larson yes I’ve definitely learned that one. Otherwise there is a lot of wasted paint.

What are the steps I need to take to salvage the paint. Seems like there is still a lot of paint in the gallon when it starts chirping that’s it’s out of paint.

If it is done carefully, can you purge the line back into the paint tin? A little water should not affect the paint for next use as the open can will have lost some water content during spraying, anyway. Also, it would have been good to see more close up views of the actual paint performance and finishes. I am looking to buy a unit and usage and finish comments would both be helpful. Cheers 👍
