      Just don't move your spray gun like he did at 9 minute mark...he has a Horizontal Pattern as pating comes out his gun and is also moving his hand back and forth Horizontally (left to right and back) which is totally wrong, you can never spray like that.
      To Paint correctly, with the pattern in the gun coming out from Side to Side...you move your hands UP and Down and then you can get coverage and overlap your spray properly. This is good breakdown of the product (must be sponsored) but this does not show how to paing properly at all. He could have watched any of hundreds of other videos to who how to do that.
      Vertical Pattern from Gun - Move hands Horizontally
      Horizontal Pattern coming from Gun - Move hands Vertically
      Always move against the spray pattern not with it!

Very professionally produced video, straight forward explanations without the cringe-worthy attempts at humor and goofing around so many youtube "instructors" do. UGH. here's me still cleaning up at 3AM.

    Thanks for the video! I just bought this exact model 2 days ago and followed the directions provided to get started. Wish I had known about your video sooner, would have made the process much easier. I used it today with a solid stain product on my deck rail and the privacy fencing I have attached to it on the outside. Before, each section between the posts, which were about 8 feet apart and had around 15 1x1 balusters between them, took around an hour or more to apply the solid stain with a brush and roller, because of all the nooks, crannies and surfaces to cover. I finished applying the solid stain in about 8 minutes using the Graco Magnum X5 to the 25 feet of rail and fence I had left to cover! It was amazing. The time sucker was the cleanup of the sprayer and installing Pump Armor liquid for storing the unit. Being it was the first time I ever did it I am not surprised.
    One thing to note: it is important to thoroughly mix the product you will be spraying and then strain it with a paint strainer prior to running it through the sprayer. Any debris in the paint can clog the machine and accelerate wear of the sprayer tips and pump motor.

And honestly waterborne is so good and for the most part easier to use that it hust makes sense to only use waterbase stuff... so just maoe sure you rinse with plenty of water amd if you want extra protection use pro clean pr lacquer cleaner from sherwin williams then rinse more with water. And remeber the tips do have a life of a few hundred gallons.

    Good video overall.
    The guard on the gun develops the spray “fan” pattern, depending on its orientation.
    The hose end valve supplied is designed to facilitate using water to flush out the system once done painting, versus running the pump. I find that flushing with water does a good job of clean up except for the tip and guard, as well the inlet screen.
    I find that using a a portion of discard panty hose, secured by a nylon tie strap over the inlet screen eliminates a lot of sprayer issues due to dirt or debris.
    Thanks for your good good effort.

    • @billnope7840
      @billnope7840 4 месяца назад +6

      @@neiltrenholm2949 The spray gun sprays the paint in a very narrow rectangular area, say 1 inch tall and 10-12 inches wide, depending on the angle that one holds the sprayer. One could hold the gun such that the rectangle is 10-12 inches tall and 1 inch wide. Typically one holds the gun so that the rectangle is more wide than tall and the movement of the gun is up or down, usually down. This covers a large area quickly. One could hold the gun such that the rectangle is more tall than wide and THEN the movement would be left or right so that the covered area again is large. In this last example, one would NOT move up or down. That would result in a very small area covered with FAR too much paint and almost certainly result in dripping.

    Greatly appreciated, I've had my sprayer for 2 years and frankly I was afraid to mess it up or waste a lot of paint, but I think I'm now ready to paint my kitchen cabinets.

    Ha! "Make sure that guard is tight and firm and secure" HOLY CRAP the results if that step is messed with WHILE painting. I had seen in the "Quick Start Guide" that the guard alignment could be changed for vertical/horizontal strokes. BUT I had not really paid close attention to that part of your instructions. First time using the sprayer, primer *all* over the place. BUT at least it was primer. I proceeded to manually spread it via brush, so all wasn't lost!
