While I have great respect for Coach Saban and his accomplishments, I also know that his job as an analyst with ESPN includes maintaining the narrative of his employer. ESPN is a significant media rights holder of the SEC. ESPN wants the SEC to stay the best football conference in the nation in order to maintain their investment in the SEC. So, bias is going to be a major effort to maintain that media value so ESPN can obtain the necessary advertisers and sponsors to pay the SEC member schools. Unfortunately, the ESPN/SEC narrative is imploding on itself. Instead, Notre Dame and its Independence is winning college football without any conference affiliation. So much for proving which conference is best!
The seeding and matchups were completely asinine. That has to change before next year. Oregon and OSU playing each other while PSU got beat by both and played SMU and Boise. Then you have UGA potentially having to beat Texas 3 times. None of the seeding made sense.
Idk I'm not a fan of texas or asu but if you go back to the earlier call where the texas reciever was in the air defenseless and got rocked his head snapped back and hit the ground which is what the rule is supposed to prevent. Dude launched at the reciever as well didn't directly hit him in the head more like the throat but the way dudes head snapped back that was targeting and why the rule was invented to prevent head injuries. The next one where the asu reciever caught the pass and it was helmet to helmet the texas back just closed in but didn't launch and the recievers head didn't snap back or hit the ground. There's not much you can do as a defender just wrapping up and making a good tackle. Thing is it ended up evening out and going to overtime and texas won.
The refs didn't call the targeting on texas. Didn't call the second targeting on Arizona, which led to an interception. Didn't call the offensive pass interference on Arizona. The refs missed calls on both sides.

Any helmet to helmet contact should be targeting call. Because no matter if it’s the top or side of helmet it’s the same impact. Logic would tell you whether you hit a nail with any top bottom or side of a hammer you can still get that nail in. Let’s be real they want to give Texas the best odds of winning. If they give asu that call and they kick field goal game over. If Texas needed that call they would have call it. This is why we need ai referee
Lets not overlook that every single ball Smith has caught in the forst two rounds, has come on the heels of a perfect throw from Howard. Cant defend a perfect throw....to the beat receiver in the nation by far

How come the best coach in the world could not win with 3 star men at MSU, or in the pro's? But the worst coach in the world win a national championship with 3 and 4 star players and get a pro team to the super bowl?
Trying every way they can to get Saban to say that Gunner will be the weakness. Wow.
Espn don’t want anyone discussing that they were in refs ear during review. They made the call just like they brokered the deal to get texas and ou to the sec 4 years ago. And then use clickbait this. I would love to know if saben has the integrity i have always thought he had to call it an obvious targeting call with his paycheck at stake.
The bad call ! Not mentioned! Click bait
he did not target the guy....it was a good clean hit...
the click bait got me- I thought espn was above that- guess not
Did the video of the ASU girls walk right in front of Auburn right before he is kicking on the sideline? Did this have any effect on Auburn?
14:14 I think some passed gas
