I totally agree with Greg's assessment. The wild card will be injuries. Not only who gets hurt, but when in the season they get hurt. While OSU's offensive line injuries were more than significant, but at least they happened at a time that gave the coaches and replacements some time to adjust. Notre Dame had similar injuries to their O-line, but they happened during the playoff run, and they were still experimenting with new combinations during the last 2 games. It's a long grind now, and one of the biggest impacts of NIL and the portal is limiting the depth on teams. By playoff time every team will be down the depth chart at a few positions, and one or two key injuries late in the regular season, or early in the post-season could wreck any team's plans. Ask Kirby Smart and Carson Beck about that.
Now that 12 teams get in, it will allow for teams with 1 or two losses to get in and I think that is good. I mean Alabama with 3 losses nearly backed their way in this year.
For Ohio State they will find out early against Texas. They lose a bunch of talent both on the field and on the sidelines. But even with an early loss to Texas I still like their chances of making the CFP (when was the last time Ryan Day lost three games in the regular season - never). In my mind the biggest loss to overcome will be Chip Kelly. He brought balance to the pass/run mix that was difficult for opposing defenses to deal with. If Day and his new OC can duplicate that then the Buckeyes will be prepared for the push to repeat.

I would say SARK has at least 3 more seasons before he’s in the natty or bust mode. It’s only been two seasons since sark has gotten the program where he wants it to be. Prior to sark being at UT, they were essentially middle of the pack to bottom feeders in the big 12 after 09
texas, ND, and Penn State are my picks to be serious contenders next year... They didnt lose as much as alot and are plugging in players as good or better than what they are losing. Especially Texas and ND...they are both gonna be really good. ND lost some in portal, but it was players that wasnt gonna start in 2025
Penn State has no receivers or tight ends. Add their QB is average at best. Texas and ND are good selections. If my Buckeyes QB develops quickly, we’ll have a slim chance.
Not too worried about ND tbh. There’s been a lot of talk about O-line men hitting the transfer portal recently, but all the guys who transferred only started this year due to injuries. It’s not likely they would have gotten much playtime next year anway
Doesn’t matter how well Texas recruits they will always underperform the level of talent they have. Been that for decades and decades. It’s in the water. In their blood. Alumni. Boosters. Doesn’t matter what they do.
@tommyjones774 i would bet on CJ Carr... he was a top 5 caliper qb coming in.. they also have Amgeli which isn't top level talent but incredibly steady and could win with that roster. Carr will be the man though..
Id agree but we have the best player on offense and the best I. Defense returning. And Brian heartline will be the OC……4”smith” is gonna get the ball lol and 2 “downs” gonna lead that defense
NO SPRING GAME??? There are families who cannot afford tickets for regular season games so they go to the spring game (not Nebraska) every year. REMINDER: WITHOUT FANS THERE IS NO COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!! PLAY THE GAME!!!
Greg finally catching up on transfer portal NIL and that word parity. Certainly wasn’t there at the beginning of the season cause he was still calling for Alabama and Georgia dynasties to come back. That’s a big miss on Clemson. Look at the recruiting. They are not even in the top 25. The last 3 years have been 14, 14, 11. They are really not a good defense. Sure with some veterans coming back they can improve but they don’t have the guns to win 4 games in the playoff. OU 😂 man Venables is gonna be under pressure. I can see the defense being pretty good but they really need the offense to work otherwise their defense will be on the field the whole game and eventually break and that happened to them over and over last season.
How do you have a job?? LMFAO. Ohio State will never have a garbage mediocre year like Michigan. We actually get elite players and coaches and don’t lose them to a cheating scandal. We absolutely can and will go B2B next year. Penn State will always be second rate as long as James Franklin and Drew Allar are there.
Eh not really. We have the best portal class in the big 10. Most of the guys who left in the portal were either rotational or depth pieces. We only had 1 starter leave who was the power rb. Rhule dosent wanna show his hand which is completely understandable.
Im over this bs! Oregon spent 23 mill didnt win a natty. Was the season a bust was it worthless. Does it make them less of a team next year. What about Colorado was it a bust? Hismen winner top qb pick for the nfl. Those will have kids going there who want to do the same! This is nonsense it needs to stop.
This dude is so wrong. The elite teams are still reloading. The comparison to ttun is so trash. They haven’t recruited elite enough until the 2025 cycle. Ohio State has been recruiting at an elite for over a decade. So schools like OSU, Oregon, Texas, UGA, and soon to be ttun will reload.
The only Natty Penn State will ever enjoy comes from a can.
That was a good one
Knowles jumped on board with ”our conference foe, PSU”; never to be confused with “our rival”.
Coming for your wr next
Facts. Penn st isnt a rival they wanna be osu.
@@jasonvoorhees6416u think he'd play for that sorry az team. 😂😂😂 He will go home to fl before going to that ish place. Stop it
@@Buckeyebrotherhoodthan you can say OSU wants to be UM lol literally followed they model
Brent V to The Ohio State as DC ! Let’s make it happen
he’ll be fired next year anyway so probably

Well we all prepared for this era that we about to see in the day in age. Let's begin this era from now until the nearest future
Nah, OSU is an every year program. OSU football is the only plug and play program in any major US sport. They have never had a bad era, like ever
True but doesn't change the fact they aren't winning next year
They should try to plug & play vs Michigan probably
Agreed

Agree 100%, Greg. It will be difficult for my Bucks to win in Ann Arbor, let alone repeat.
We don’t need to win in Ann Arbor to repeat
Bucks fan here. I agree, but with the new format, winning in Ann Arbor might not be essential. But it sure would be nice.
The analyst are bored when you Penn state and national championship in the same sentence.
Do a quick recap of Allar's performances vs top competition

OSU recruiting and depth is far better then Michigan
Far? lol when is the last time you beat us again? 🤣
2026 OSU comes off the PSU schedule
As they chose not to play the Buckeyes
Every year. Good luck against Rutgers
There can only be 1 NC, yet there are 20 teams with natty or bust aspirations😂
so I guess that means the other 19 "busted"

PSU? In control against the Buckeyes?? Well, they had a hope and a prayer…that and a pick six. But they were never in control. Go Bucks!

You just said it, Penn State can’t win the big games
Clemson is done as a power in college football
They said they have a “tough schedule” next year that includes Troy, FSU, and Furman 😂😂😂
Matt Rhule and Nebraska are SOFT AF
Drew Allar is trash. So is James Franklin. Why are we talking Penn state?
Penn state defense is going to be elite elite. You can’t beat them if you can’t score. Also Allar was a true freshman, he is going to be better
