    I totally agree with Greg's assessment. The wild card will be injuries. Not only who gets hurt, but when in the season they get hurt. While OSU's offensive line injuries were more than significant, but at least they happened at a time that gave the coaches and replacements some time to adjust. Notre Dame had similar injuries to their O-line, but they happened during the playoff run, and they were still experimenting with new combinations during the last 2 games. It's a long grind now, and one of the biggest impacts of NIL and the portal is limiting the depth on teams. By playoff time every team will be down the depth chart at a few positions, and one or two key injuries late in the regular season, or early in the post-season could wreck any team's plans. Ask Kirby Smart and Carson Beck about that.

    Now that 12 teams get in, it will allow for teams with 1 or two losses to get in and I think that is good. I mean Alabama with 3 losses nearly backed their way in this year.

  • @johnbochenek5526
    @johnbochenek5526 День назад +1

    For Ohio State they will find out early against Texas. They lose a bunch of talent both on the field and on the sidelines. But even with an early loss to Texas I still like their chances of making the CFP (when was the last time Ryan Day lost three games in the regular season - never). In my mind the biggest loss to overcome will be Chip Kelly. He brought balance to the pass/run mix that was difficult for opposing defenses to deal with. If Day and his new OC can duplicate that then the Buckeyes will be prepared for the push to repeat.

    texas, ND, and Penn State are my picks to be serious contenders next year... They didnt lose as much as alot and are plugging in players as good or better than what they are losing. Especially Texas and ND...they are both gonna be really good. ND lost some in portal, but it was players that wasnt gonna start in 2025

    • @jdmiller5832

      Penn State has no receivers or tight ends. Add their QB is average at best. Texas and ND are good selections. If my Buckeyes QB develops quickly, we’ll have a slim chance.

    • @michaelserwetnyk1607
      @michaelserwetnyk1607 День назад +3

      Not too worried about ND tbh. There’s been a lot of talk about O-line men hitting the transfer portal recently, but all the guys who transferred only started this year due to injuries. It’s not likely they would have gotten much playtime next year anway

    Greg finally catching up on transfer portal NIL and that word parity.
    Certainly wasn’t there at the beginning of the season cause he was still calling for Alabama and Georgia dynasties to come back.
    That’s a big miss on Clemson. Look at the recruiting. They are not even in the top 25.
    The last 3 years have been 14, 14, 11. They are really not a good defense. Sure with some veterans coming back they can improve but they don’t have the guns to win 4 games in the playoff.
    OU 😂 man Venables is gonna be under pressure. I can see the defense being pretty good but they really need the offense to work otherwise their defense will be on the field the whole game and eventually break and that happened to them over and over last season.
