Do you recommend the hue hub or bridge? I will be expanding to include many different lights, and I have to say, Hue’s website and information available on Amazon is confusing at best.. especially for novices. Brand new to this.
A Philips Hue hub is required in order to integrate with your lights with SmartThings. You can find the Philips Hue hub at www.amazon.com/dp/B016H0QZ7I
@@betterliving8353 the video explained clearly how to setup the multipurpose sensor via the app but I didn't see anything or understand how it controls a light plugged into a 120 vac outlet. Is the outlet a smart outlet that interacts with the multipurpose sensor? Thank you...
@@hockeystop05 The Philips Hue lightstrip I used in the video is a smart lightstrip. Hue lightstrip requires a Philips Hue hub to work with Samsung open/close sensor. The lightstrip I used can be found at www.amazon.com/dp/B08CKJWSFS, and the Hue hub can be found at www.amazon.com/dp/B016H0QZ7I. You can use other cheaper smart lightstrips as well; Philips is one of the most expensive. I also have a SmartThings hub, which orchestrates the automation. Collectively, the equipment is expensive but you can use this equipment as the foundation for all your home automation needs.

Do you need a Samsung smart hub for the sensor? Or just the sensor suffice?
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Did you need the Philips bridge for the lights or did you just connect the lights to the smart things app? Thanks
Any update on the bridge?
