Lived on a farm property in 1997 as a child. I can tell you from experience that there is no eerier feeling than that expanse of hills and woods in the middle of winter more than anything. Our neighbors were pretty close together for that one spot but, after that it was just more woods and hills without houses for several miles. A couple who my mother was close with always said in the winter time especially they never let the kiddos roam around too far cos it gets weird out there.
I often theorize that nature has a mind of its own in the paranormal sense, from the amount of ghost stories to unexplained creatures or entities to stories of murder and other crimes. It's almost like the forest/woods/isolated rural areas have are.......alive and not in just a physical sense.
I live on 12 acres in an isolated area. These sorts of stories made me build a 10ft high steel wire fence around the entire deck with spotlights and cameras and 4 large hunting dogs ! Partly because of the wild dog packs, but mostly since there was a murder a few farms over. My infrared forest cameras have caught some strange things in the she oak forests. You’d be surprised by the amount of people wandering around at night. *update* Wow gosh I had no idea my comment would draw so much curiosity, I’ll do my best to explain. I am a single mother with a young son, I myself have a history of childhood trauma, so I’ve naturally created space from the general public most of my adult life. Moving to land was always the plan. We’ve been here 4 years now. The fence went up around the house/deck because of the wild dogs that hunt in the area. We lost a dog to them and it was heartbreaking, but then a murder happened a few farms over and I couldn’t sleep anymore. The fence is awesome. Ugly and industrial but effective 😊 As for the forests, the cameras are to track the wild dog pack. What surprised us what how often we would see a human walking through the forest in the middle of the night. I’m in Australia, so this forest is quite dense, and we are 30mins from town. We share the road with several farms, the 12 acres I’m on are part of a 122 acre farm. The properties are big and the forests are left untouched. The forests eventually come out onto a road, but nothing busy. Sometimes people are just wandering around, sometimes they’re sitting and smoking. I’m at a loss how they’ve found their way there as it’s through properties with old barbed wire fencing, in thick bush! Paranormal wise I’m a believer. Too many strange things happen, that I cannot explain. My son experiences more of that side of things than I do. We’ve had a few parties and the skies are so clear, and it’s always a hoot to watch newbies try to figure out what’s happening in the stars while they pull out the star tracker apps to explain what they’re seeing. No RUclips channel coming sorry folks, I’d feel bad uploading the footage of these people 🤣
That first story hit home. That was my family in the 90s. I was asleep through it all but my mom was talking with her family the next evening about how a woman came to our house in the middle of the night saying her car broke down and needed my dad's help. That was sus because to get to us, you'd pass a bare minimum 6 houses in any direction before a long stretch of nothing to finally get to us. At the time there were a string of break ins that involved using a woman to get a guy out of the house in order for 1 or 2 guys to break in while he was gone. Dad stayed up most of the night with a rifle listening out for anything.
It would still discourage them from going any farther. Even if you know they’re bluffing, you haven’t actually done anything to them yet and you’re not gonna risk your own life testing them
I mean if it was me, I’m not even trying to sound like a badass or whatever, if I see some masked guy on my property late at night, I’m shooting him the first chance I get. Not gonna risk giving a “warning shot” because you don’t know how crazy the person is, they might even try to charge at you. Similar to how the guy in this video was slowly approaching the op in this video
It's 3am here in India, and I'm just finishing my midnight study session while listening to Mr Nightmare and eating Pasta. Thank you Mr Nightmare for making it the perfect end to the day!
I LOVE farm horror stories! Farms are so damn creepy especially abandoned/no longer in use ones. My grandman's farm house (before it had to be demolished) was over 120 years old and the farm itself was crazy. There was a manure pit that was so deep that if you fell into it you'd need someone to drop in a ladder and it's heyday it was concern that people would fall in and literally drown to death in cow shit.
Can you imagine having to explain your death to someone in some afterlife? 💀 “So uh, how did you die before getting here? Peacefully? Living to an old age? A disease unfortunately taking you out early?” “Oh yeah no, I fell and drowned into a pile of cow sh*t,”
@@MonkeMan2.0 Not just drowning. You could also die from suffocation from all of the carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from the manure. The manure pit my grandparents had was creepy in that the opening was really small and there was no sign or fence around it. Since the grandkids were born it was sealed away with cement, but it was still creepy because it just look so...inconspicuous. I never worked on a farm, but my parents and grandparents did and they had some scary stories. When my dad was a kid and it was winter his parents had him and a couple of his brothers chip ice from some machinery in the silo and this blade/steel bar (I can't remember what it was called) got activated when someone bumped into the on button and for over half an hour my dad and his brothers had to dodge this huge ass rotating blade. Thankfully it was low to the floor and so they could jump over it. Farming is an extremely dangerous profession and I'm amazed more people haven't died from it in the past century.
#2 story is why a farm near where I used to live has an electric fence around the entire property. Anyone who tries to climb it will get zapped. A lot of people whined about it and wanted the farmer to remove it but he refused and the city didn't make him remove it.
@@cornwalldonnahue6512 No, the farmer literally said in a live news interview that it was to keep people off of his property. They were stealing his chickens, so he got fed up and built an electric fence.
I live on a farm and ranch in the Midwest and worst I’ve ever dealt with was a crazy lady under the influence of drugs tapping on my glass at 3 am. Worst part was that I was out baling that night and proceeded to come home for the night, usually I’ll lay out on my lawn and watch the stars because of how peaceful it makes me feel. Although, this night I tried laying there but had this unnerved feeling I was in danger so I got up and went inside and made late night dinner before bed. While I was eating I heard tapping on the glass and thought at first it was a moth. Turns out it was a woman at my window talking to herself. When I noticed her I stood up in horror and proceeded to find a weapon. Fight or Flight kicked in. She proceeded to make a run for my front door, which stupid me left unlocked. With a pool stick and whatever remaining fight I had left in me I warned her I was going to call the police. She smiled and walked out the door into the night. The rest is history. Typing this up gave me goosebumps lol.
The dropping of the act by the bad guy in Story 1 was the creepiest part there. He knew he fell for a trick and gave up the charade. He seemed like he knew OP's group had probably called the police and didn't stick around.
Criminals not being afraid of a gun pointed at them is terrifying. Maybe start doing less warning shots and start making them regret their decisions. 100% reduce the odds of it happening again
He was a fool to defy an armed homeowner like that. United States law adheres to CASTLE DOCTRINE. Besides there is a saying "dead men tell no tales". Meaning the shot intruder would likely get no justice because they would not even be alive to tell their side of the story in court.
@@monicawatson2537 He was toying with his very dear life. Should the homeowners son have shot with the intent to kill, especially if it happened in late stages, nobody would have blamed him. Once you trespass like that in United States, your life is as much subject to forfeiture as a traitors life in Stalins Soviet Russia.
Farms are legitimately frightening. Been scared of them ever since I grew up around one. Rusty pitchforks, creaky boards, weapons everywhere lol.. very much a horror movie setting.
@kaal6272 you seriously expect a home alone teenage boy to shoot a group of cultists when most people know how cultists are maniacs? He was also surrounded. There is zero chance anyone eho cares about their life wouldn't shoot them
Mr. Nightmare just twists the knife even deeper making these stories even more frightening. Only downfall is that they’re so short! I could listen to a good hour or more in one clip
Oh boy. I got really good stories to tell. My parents lives on 40 acres and lots of crazies come by all the time. It's very peaceful during the day, being away from people and society; just surrounded by nature. At night though, it is a completely different story. All that quiet and being far from people suddenly becomes very scary and dangerous.
In Iowa, a typical farmer would grab his shotgun right away and not just try to bluff that they have one. A door is not likely to stop someone. They can kick the door in with little trouble. I grew up on a farm in SW Louisiana, and we were always armed. We also had big, territorial dogs. The best security we had was out Guinea fowl. They roosted every night in a bamboo grove in our backyard, and if anything approached our place, they would scream loud enough to wake the dead. Everybody in that area knew that it could be a fatal mistake to invade private property at night.
You can notice that all the “villains” in the stories that mr nightmare presents or really any story out there that are like his, they’re not about animals or monsters, they’re about people, sadistic people. A man is more scary than a bear because bear doesn’t find satisfaction with the victims at the end of his blade.
These are disturbing especially story 2! 😨 Being out numbered and not to mention what they did to that cow! one can only imagine what they were going to do to him! Hats off to these farmers!

We kept my grandparent's farm and I'm alone on it sometimes. These stories are always in my head when I am. That's why we have security systems and guns. I don't think guns solve everything but when you're that far from authorities you have to have a way to protect yourself from people who want to mess with you or attacking/rabid animals. These situations are rare but still terrifying.
The problem with stories like these is the paranoia it can inspire. I’m triple checking locks and windows and under the bed, it’s hard to sleep at night wondering about letting your guard down. It’s no way to live.
These days u can't get caught slippin. It's a good thing to be a little paranoid. Paranoid or not tho I should just always do those things ANYWAY. It's just common sense.

Never fire warning shots, especially into the air cuz the bullets dont just disappear. You're either shooting the person or whats the point if they know you're not gonna actually hurt them.
Never been in a situation like this but I always think I’d only fire 1 warning shot, if that doesn’t work, I’d aim for a leg if they won’t stop approaching me or an arm if they have a weapon 🤷🏻♂️
It's remarkable how many people engage a threat with a firearm with, apparently, no intention of actually using it. One of the most dangerous things to do is engage someone or something with a firearm as intimidation counting on that to protect them, but having no intention or willingness to actually use the firearm. You should never threaten or engage with deadly force unless the situation justifies the use of deadly force and you're ready and willing to use deadly force.
Nobody does it better then Mr. Nightmare he’s most definitely one of the best scary story narrators i’ve ever seen and none of the other channels I watch can compare. i just wish he uploaded more i’ve literally watched every video on his channel and I hate having to wait 2 weeks for a new video lol other then that keep up the good work you’re killing it 👍🏼

Finally we have people reacting rationally to the presence of threatening strangers on their property: by shooting at or near them. So tired of people locking doors and hiding under covers.
@@roboticpotato3974 Also these are *farm* stories, and farmers are usually armed. I work (but do not live) on a farm, but you can bet that I'm strapped for anything that goes bump in the night. The second one is flat out fiction. I wouldn't be upset if Mr. Nightmare would have put it in a video WITHOUT the "TRUE" tag. It obviously wasn't true. Everything about it screams "written by an aspiring reddit author."
This makes me fear my farm. I own a farm in Minnesota and I’ve had an experience like the first story. It’s always a good idea to keep guns with you. I own a few guns. I own a Colt Ar-15 A2, 9mm handgun, a Beretta A300 Ultima 20 gauge, and a Christensen Arms Ridgeline Scout hunting rifle. Too many warning shots , I grew up in rural Kansas and I was always told no warning shots, you tell them to leave and if they still keep coming you shoot to stop. (Also always a good idea to get a gun that you can mount a light on)
If you give more than one warning shot, they assume you aren't actually going to do anything. And giving one warning shot, they might assume you just missed and start shooting back. Partly because of the wild dog packs, but mostly since there was a murder a few farms over. My infrared forest cameras have caught some strange things in the she oak forests. You’d be surprised by the amount of people wandering around at night.
*update*
Wow gosh I had no idea my comment would draw so much curiosity, I’ll do my best to explain.
Ugly and industrial but effective 😊
As for the forests, the cameras are to track the wild dog pack.
No RUclips channel coming sorry folks, I’d feel bad uploading the footage of these people 🤣
Any spooky shit like paranormal??

You living on a farm or a military stronghold?
That first story hit home. That was my family in the 90s. I was asleep through it all but my mom was talking with her family the next evening about how a woman came to our house in the middle of the night saying her car broke down and needed my dad's help. That was sus because to get to us, you'd pass a bare minimum 6 houses in any direction before a long stretch of nothing to finally get to us. At the time there were a string of break ins that involved using a woman to get a guy out of the house in order for 1 or 2 guys to break in while he was gone. Dad stayed up most of the night with a rifle listening out for anything.
That's tough :(
You can only fire so many warning shots before the trespasser knows you're bluffing
for real and bro really had the audacity to say that he was actually gonna shoot. be real with yourself 💀
It was hilarious how he said he could definitely shoot him and just ran away instead
Also because you don’t know if they’re alone

I LOVE farm horror stories! Farms are so damn creepy especially abandoned/no longer in use ones. My grandman's farm house (before it had to be demolished) was over 120 years old and the farm itself was crazy. There was a manure pit that was so deep that if you fell into it you'd need someone to drop in a ladder and it's heyday it was concern that people would fall in and literally drown to death in cow shit.
I love them, too; I also loved the warehouse ones.
Can you imagine having to explain your death to someone in some afterlife? 💀
“So uh, how did you die before getting here? Peacefully? Living to an old age? A disease unfortunately taking you out early?”
“Oh yeah no, I fell and drowned into a pile of cow sh*t,”
@@maxredjasper55 all of that information was captivating I thank you
I love true stories about miracles & answered prayers 🙏 ❤️
#2 story is why a farm near where I used to live has an electric fence around the entire property. Anyone who tries to climb it will get zapped. A lot of people whined about it and wanted the farmer to remove it but he refused and the city didn't make him remove it.
Good 👍
Or…. Maybe it is to keep livestock in
@@cornwalldonnahue6512 No, the farmer literally said in a live news interview that it was to keep people off of his property. They were stealing his chickens, so he got fed up and built an electric fence.
Why were people upset unless they wanted to steal from him
@@sunlightangel87
That farmer must be like Eustace.
Your one of those lying Redditors 🙄
The dropping of the act by the bad guy in Story 1 was the creepiest part there. He knew he fell for a trick and gave up the charade. He seemed like he knew OP's group had probably called the police and didn't stick around.
Story 2 was terrifying. Anything involving gore/decapitated things is definitely horrifying.
Thanks for a great video as always, Mr. Nightmare!
I know right, the death of the cow and the guys chanting is just weird and terrifying.

@@monicawatson2537 Number one, it's not fictional. It's real.
You must be fun at parties. You provide all the entertainment with your trolling lmao
Criminals not being afraid of a gun pointed at them is terrifying. Maybe start doing less warning shots and start making them regret their decisions. 100% reduce the odds of it happening again
the last guy attempting at a horror movie scene and changing his mind as soon as he heard a gun is absolutely hilarious
He was a fool to defy an armed homeowner like that. United States law adheres to CASTLE DOCTRINE. Besides there is a saying "dead men tell no tales". Meaning the shot intruder would likely get no justice because they would not even be alive to tell their side of the story in court.
He didnt though. It took a hand full of warning shots and he keept getting closer.

Oh boy. I got really good stories to tell. My parents lives on 40 acres and lots of crazies come by all the time. It's very peaceful during the day, being away from people and society; just surrounded by nature. At night though, it is a completely different story. All that quiet and being far from people suddenly becomes very scary and dangerous.
Man your stories always give me chills - the way you narrate is so unique and just one of a kind!! Best horror channel on RUclips! :)
His stories are awesome bro
@@luisthekingjaime94 ikr!
Some animals do torture. And get aroused while torturing. Bears eat you from the asshole up. They love for their meal to squirm....... So WROOOOONNNG.

You’re channel is amazing and I wish you the best in all you do!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
These situations are rare but still terrifying.
yeah Im not a huge proponent of guns but that makes sense
