That last one is one of the scariest stories I’ve ever heard
Ikr 😭
The last one was the least scarry for me. It's freaky, but chances are it wasn't even a person in the bush. It was probably an injured or rabid animal, likely a raccoon. And like the story says, what happened later that night was definitely sleep paralysis.
It's creepy, yes. But it's not very scary.
@@hondaaccord736 Same. I've had almost the same sleep paralysis situation. The girl from "The Ring" or at least what my mind created was crawling up my bed until she was right over my face. She then started making this guttural/gargling sound until I was able to jerk my head away while screaming "No!" Unsettling experience for sure.
After a night of drinking...
Don’t look at the picture just get distracted or it’ll stick to your head in your sleep
if a story is able to freak out Mr Nightmare than it’s definitely scary
Still can't believe I've been listening to this guy for nearly 7 years
Mr. Nightmare, I am proud to be a subscriber of your channel, you're truly a legend. Wish you all the best.
I love october. Mr. Nightmare brings all the uploads and im here for it! Mr. Nightmare = G.O.A.T
the mimic story had me in tears because i was so scared. I've heard stories EXTREMELY similar to that before. those are apparently a relatively common experience.
okay.. the face in the last story freaked me out.. hahaha (the laughing helps me, knowing damn well my body went cold for a second)
Last one was easily a demon trying to cause fear I would have started praying vigorously
Forgot who's channel it was on but one of the scariest I've heard was the one about kids having a sleepover and playing a game where the loser would have to spend the night alone in a room down the hall - the kid who reluctantly did so was taken during the night
People mostly always see stuff in sleep paralysis. He simply remembered what freaked him out before he went to bed.
I remember this first one man it’s been so long!
0:52 fun fact: it was originally said “bitchy mood”
That last one. Never heard of something like that? Ha.
I do not get sleep paralysis. No, I get hypnopompic hallucinations, which are the ones you get while waking up, but without paralysis. I'm diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia, or what the sleep doc called "Narcolepsy Lite," and one of the fun things that entails is frequently getting random bouts of vivid hallucinations after waking suddenly. But not the fun kind some people get, with fairies, pleasant smells, or singing. Oh no.
I've seen chains coiling above me like snakes; blood dripping down my walls; a man standing and pointing at me from the crack in my door; a man standing much closer at the foot of my bed and pointing; vines or tangles of hair creepimg towards me and writhing on the ceiling; spiders or other bugs converging on me along the floors and walls; and one incredibly frightening time, a drone with a light shining into my eyes just above me with a needle to extract my blood. It was frightening because I usually only experience one sensory hallucination at a time, maybe two (sight and sound), but they don't impact me. And while they often seem to be coming towards me, rarely do they get near before I fully wake and scramble for the light. This however? This was directly above my head, like I'd hit it if I tried to sit up. I could hear the whirring of the blades and smell copper, and the "light" really made me squint and my pupils ache like I was staring into a light. That got me. I remember shouting no and pulling the blankets over my head. I think I fell back asleep immediately.
But the most alarming of all? An antique rocking chair on my ceiling, with chains looped through and around it, slamming back and forth at unnatural speed. I can still remember the rattling of the chains and the bam of the chair hitting the ceiling over and over again. Did not like that one, no sir.
So anyway. What are all your sleep demons, paralysis or otherwise? :)
This man can tell you about how he dropped his cup of water and make it sound terrifying
i need to find that story where this guy goes to visit his parents on a long stretch of road and he sees a kid and the kid comes to his window asking for help the kid turns around cause someone seems to be chasing him and the guy hauls ass out of there and leaves the kid behind after telling him get in the vehicle the kid runs off turns out to be that kid and his friends ended up being missing kids and suppousably that as an area of voodoo and witch craft
I remember the first story from Llama arts when Mr. Nightmare was associated with it.

I guessed that first story, soon as the first sentence was uttered I remembered it like a core memory. It’s such an iconic horror story personally because it sounds like something straight out of a film, allegedly it’s real or at least real enough to get a response out of me in the middle of listening.
Same!! I instantly thought to myself “I know this one!” 😂
I remember when that video was first released and he actually said in the description that it legitimately freaked him out while reading it. Knew that story would be in this video as soon as I saw the title.
same I noticed it half way thru the first story
True! It Reminded me of the Llama Arts video a few years back.
It was truly scary as hell
Does anyone else remember that story where a guy went to the movies and he was the only one in the theater and then he saw someone poking their head up from a row of seats looking at him. And it kept getting closer and he decided to leave because he was freaked out and when he walked by the row it was someone holding up a severed human head. That story is the one that has stayed with me and freaked me out the most to this day 😅
Mr. Nightmare told that story? I’ve got to find it, sounds so creepy. 😱
That one and the Smiling Man story where he was dance walking down the sidewalk then started sprinting at the person.
Yeah bro that was eerie af
@@elanorgreenleaf2274 Its called theater stories
Both stories mentioned in this thread are some of his classics. Not to mention the one out of the thousands that I've listened to from him which was a story about a groups of kids, I believe cousins or siblings that got to playing hide and seek and the storyteller ended up in an abandoned farm house I believe. The story went on to talk about how the child fell asleep in the closet after nobody came to look for him and woke up to it being nighttime. He hears the sound of someone walking around in the dark hallway and dragging something about, then the supposed person approached the closet. Before it opens up, an unknown person that was not originally in the closet with him breathes on or touches him and so he fled all the way out of the house without being grabbed or clearly seeing his potential attackers. This dream haunted 12-13 year old me for ages.
That last story was pretty disturbing. First time I’ve heard that one. Shit was like from the grudge and that image made the story even more terrifying! Great video as always Mr. Nightmare!
be glad you've never had sleep paralysis
(has happened to me at least 100 times)
Unfortunately that’s pretty textbook sleep paralysis. Some people get it and just can’t move (I’m one of those people), but some people get freaky hallucinations just about every time.
The image is a concept or fan drawing of the grudge (I think)
The reason why Mr. Nightmare is so popular is his no-nonsense delivery. I rarely subscribe to “true horror” channels because the majority of the narrators either have a voice I don’t like or speak with some sort of affected voice, trying to be scary or edgy or literate or urban or whatever.
But while Mr. Nightmare delivers each story in a very straightforward manner, he knows when to use inflection properly. In other words he doesn’t overdo it so that when he does do it it’s effective.
As a side note, I think he is also Chilling Scares. If not that channel is a hell of a copy cat. Either way it’s pretty good so if you like Mr. Nightmare you might wanna check Chilling Scares out.
I also like his use of sound effects and music, like if someone were to make a weird noise, he would be able to make a sound like described in the story, and the editing is also really good.
That's why I like Mr nightmare too. The others are so dramatic or they try too hard to be scary. Mr nightmare has the type of voice that actually helps you imagine the stories. With other storytellers I can't visualize the story they're telling.
Definitely check out Let's Read, he is a pretty good channel with binge worthy stories
It's not him although I can understand why people think its him chilling scares has that same almost slight grudge noise to his voice. But if you ever saw chilling scares oldest videos(he privated them) he does not sound like mr nightmare nonetheless chilling is my 2nd go to
Have y’all heard of Doctor horror? He was legendary at horror stories, now he doesn’t post at all

The story of that kid hearing their mom call their name reminds me of a time, many years ago- So everybody was home and I was in the kitchen and I suddenly heard my mom call my name as clear as day. Fair play
Sleep paralysis is honestly one of the most horrifying things that can happen to you. Alot of sleep paralysis stories are similar to the last one.
Truth. I dealt with it on and off through most of my 20's. I can't explain why or how, but it eventually just stopped happening. I'm deep into my 30's how, and it hasn't happened to me in several years. But yeah, it can be absolutely terrifying. It's like having a nightmare, except you're wide awake. I had a few that freaked me out so bad (and we're talking about a grown man in my 20's at the time, not a kid who was just scared of the dark) that I just sat up with lights on and watched TV for the rest of the night because I couldn't sleep afterwards. Really glad it doesn't happen anymore.

I started getting sleep paralysis in my teens, I’m almost 30 now and I get it every once in a while. I’ve gotten it so much throughout the years that I’m at the point where I give myself a routine to calm myself down and I’m able to wake myself up in seconds. I have seen shadow people and figures, and even hear whispering, but luckily these hallucinations where they approach me has only happened a few times.

All these stories are truly disturbing but the 2nd one gets me every time I hear it. I can’t imagine the horror that person felt when the old lady told them that the owner was murdered 2 years prior. Shivers = timbered 😂
Worst part is, it probably was the killer in that home. It's known that up in cabins like that the killers like to stick around the cabin and commandeer it because they're typically vagrants.
What I don‘t understand is why he felt the need to say „disgustingly pale skin“. That author was exposed for his racism in the original video. He never did reply. Unsurprisingly.
@@SorrowAvenue lol you are talking about racism here like seriously.
@@gyanansankhla977 But had it been "digustlingly dark", you would have brought this up yourself. Really goes to show the double standards.

Disgustingly pale with the fact that the person was watching the other sleep didn't paint the picture of someone from a particular race but rather the image of someone who has not been in society or someone who is not fit in society. You are here taking three words on your chest disregarding the fact that the person with pale skin because that's only how we can describe them living in some abandoned cabin who could very well be the murderer of the owner. You are defending a creep like come on and chill out.
Wanna know some real scary shit? Rent is due in 4 days n you’re missing half.
Story 1 and 5 hit way too close to home to me for different reasons.
Story 1 was when I started watching your channel and I was only like, a middle schooler at the time, and at some point I misheard a point in the story or thought something else, but since the guy was away from his car I didn't think the killer lady was outside down the road looking at him. I thought she was IN the car with him which is why he saw her in his rear view mirror. Fucked me up something fierce until I heard correctly a second listening.
Story 5 is like a constant fear I have I'm general, that I'll wake up one night and hallucinate some thing at the end of bed just looking at me. Also you're evil as fuck for zooming in on that image...
No way I thought the exact same with story 1 for years. That was the scariest part for me
@@312-z6x Right?! Like I knew homie was fucking up for leaving his car CAUSE I KNEW HIS DUMBASS LEFT IT UNLOCKED!
I was in 9th grade when Story 1 happened funny how times flies.
16:27 This is exactly what I saw, the first time I experienced sleep paralysis as an adolescent. It’s incredible how many people apparently have had that same experience. Felt like pure evil and it was so real to me that I genuinely thought something was in my room, and woke up my parents to check the house.
I had the same experience, but it wasn’t a floating head, but that white Bigfoot from my singing monsters game creeping by the hallway next to my door, it just kept saying “humm” over and over again how it acts in game as well.
1st sleep paralysis episode I had was a tall shadowy figure with chunks of flesh hanging off its body, long blackened claws, eyes that looked like the starry night sky and sharp ass teeth and its mouth twice as long as an ordinary humans.. it was fucked. The noises it made sounded like whispers and wheezing kind of like what story 5 was like.. whenever it tried breathing it sounded like it smoked for its whole life.. when it got close it yelled like a lunatic and that last yell echoed and I woke up sweating like crazy. So yeah story 4 and 5 really bothered me. Dreamed about a backrooms entity before the backrooms were even a thing.

true it was reallyy creepy… #2 is also creepy too like ghost stories like that are always unnerving
Look up audio paraphernalia I think that’s what it was
I’m sorry I meant audio pareidolia

@@cremantck that was creepy that happened only once to in my house, a voice said my name and told me to get the phone??? and I just ran lol I thought bro was messing with me nope he was just haning with mom cooking in kitchen 😂
The first story always reminds me of a story I had as a pizza delivery driver. I showed up to this seemingly abandoned house, I was told to go to the back. I was scared but had pepperspray. Nobody ever showed up luckily so it was probably a prank, but it felt as if I was being watched.
That's spooky... 😨
Story 4 will always be the most terrifying to me. Even if it isn't true, it's still a fear inducing tale. It's short, simple, but effective in the way that it features a fear of manipulation, deception from someone pretending to be a close family member. I think anyone would be shitting their pants at the thought of someone pretending to be your own mother, especially in your own home.
Exactly. What I got from that story was that some type of entity or demon was using his mom’s voice to lure him into the crawl space
just a hungry skinwalker trying to eat you know.
Probably was hallucinating
He must be schizophrenic
@@Lol-tn9lr my take was it was some sort of home intruder that somehow got a recording of the main character’s mom’s voice, broke into his house, and played the sound to lure him into the crawlspace and kill him.

That scary sleepover story with Anthony will always be scary for me😭😭
I remember the original sleep paralysis video. It's the only one that I can't watch again because it freaked me out that much
I remember when I saw that picture of the floating head type thing I couldn't stop thinking about it for the next few hours
In my head Mr Nightmare is the living embodiment of well nightmares and if a story scares HIM, then they are CERTAIN to be pure horror fuel
13:22 it is absolutely insane that people think about something supernatural/unexplainable before thinking that CLEARLY someone recorded her voice calling them and just kept on playing to lure the person to the crawl space. The tone, volume everything the same, this is a voice recording. Unbelievable! This isn't the first time on one of these stories I hear that it happens and people brush it off as being supernatural or imagination. I cannot understand either people do not believing while the door for the crawl space is open. One thing is to hear once your parents calling you from a distance, there are tons os explanations for that, if you are hearing constant and consistenly someone calling you to a specific - isolated - room of your house like this, there is definetly a human being there.
1. I love Mr. Nightmare's storytelling. He never fails to give me chills, especially on a cold day or night when it's raining out
2. The fourth story gave me chills. I've had nightmares of this happening, but with my dad. Someone pretending to be my dad standing at the end of a street, telling me to follow him only for it to be a disfigured version of him. It always ended right when the weird version of my dad would turn around, and I'd always wake up shaking. It's always terrified me thinking of something that imitates someone close to you in order to lure you towards it.
@Abdullah kamal Good solution :o

the ending of that second story sent chills down my spine. Imagine what might have happened had he fallen asleep? Bonechilling. Good instincts on him
Don’t you think it was a good spirit? Or like idk cause like idk
Don’t worry, I experienced that in Netherland all the time and fell asleep with a drink
@@daiyanalussier3746 how'd you come to think it's a spirit, and a good one at that?
I can prove ppl exist, no one has ever come close to proving spirits to be real.
So that person in the cabin was either the ghost of the person who lived there or the murderer.

For the 5th story, the sounds remind me of the Grudge type noises, but seriously tho, the image to resemble a floating head creeped the hell out of me, and the fact that it felt so damn real from their perspective
Exactly
yes!!
There was no need for the jumpscare with the face on the last story. My soul just left my body. I love this guys story telling 🤣 it’s an addiction at this point

I hope to god I never experience sleep paralysis
Thank you Mr.Nightmare for the uploads. I've listing to you for quite a long time (don't remember exactly when, but must be 5-6 years). I always likes your narration.
Is it just me who listens to all these stories all the time? It’s nice to hear them in a different order :)

Can we just take a sec to appreciate the fact this man has been grinding out videos for the past month
I own a 22 acres of heavily forested land here in central Texas. I love to solo camp out there. Well, a few years ago, in the late afternoon in late fall, I was out there setting up for my nightly campfire when I hear strange whistling and erratic footsteps. So I’m standing there like WTF. I mean, it is my land and I don’t do trespassers. Suddenly, maybe some 50’ to my left, I hear “Pop-Goes-the-Weasel” whistled, followed by a titter. Then slowly, a clown head starts to poke out from behind a large tree. The fucker was grinning. The makeup was all smeared and shitted up. He then steps into full view. The clown’s outfit was tattered and filthy. And, from behind his back, he draws a large machete and says “Let’s play!” So this was during that clown outbreak or whatever. So I just kinda blink, a little stunned by the sudden randomness of it all. He starts to walk towards me. Well, I’m ex-law enforcement and military spec ops, believe it or not, so I was like “Ok, let’s play…” as I drew the .357 magnum that I carry with me for the hogs. I started power-walking straight toward that fucker and told him to get down on the ground. Oh, how his eyes went wide before he turned and bolted while yelling “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” I still laugh thinking about that shit. Hope that dude learned his lesson, cuz even if it was a prank, it could have still gotten his head blown off. 2 to the chest and 1 to the head with a .357 mag is not gonna be pretty. Just to play it safe tho, I decided not to camp overnight that time…
**Edit: Yes, this IS a true story lol..,
That’s fucking awesome lmao that feeling must have been amazing
That is an amazing story 😆 🤣 the clown didn't know he was messing with a military guy
Seems to always happen out in the country. Conceal carrying is a must
Why does this sound like the more better version of the one scene from Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark scene?
I still can't believe there was a time in our lives when we all just knew there were clowns running all over the place
Its so good aswell to see you re read the stories and tell the difference from how you sounded when you last told the story years ago to now. The old voice gives so much nostalgia but is so cool to see your modern take on the stories with your newer voice!
Hearing all of these stories, old and new is quite nostalgic for anyone who has been watching Mr.Nightmare for a long time.
For the last story, it's pretty common to have scary images during sleep paralysis. Most of the time it's shadow people but it can vary. I have hypnopompic hallucinations (illusions that occur from sleep to wakefulness) which are very vivid and tend to be spooky but only last in short bursts. Of course what he experienced is scarier than anything I've seen.
But how do you explain the same noise in the bushes that everyone heard?

@@mrtumnus5690 yeah. It always makes me so paranoid. Also that image he used for the sleep paralysis demon story, with the demonic girl at the e d of his bed, “Hell nah, to the nah nah nah”
@@FUNGUSMAN920I got jump scared by that photo in the story with the drunk people.
@@mrtumnus5690 lol. It was freaky as hell though. Sleep paralysis is one of the most terrifying thing a human can experience. My friend, actually had a sleep paralysis demon from his childhood when he was only 5 or 6. He had a bad dream with his demon, where he stood up, and told him to go away. The sleep paralysis demon simply responded with, “No” I can imagine going through that.

Mr. Nightmare brother. I have been watching your videos since 2014 and can safely say you are one of the RUclips-horror-genre elites. Thank you for all the hard work over the years Mr.Nightmare. I have loved your content since 2018. Keep up the good work. And the first story you read is so nostalgic to me. Because the pizza delivery stories were the first videos I got recommended to you.

Your videos helped me get through high school and nursing school. Scariest one for me was the one called "The peering head" or something, don't remember if I saw it on your channel or not. But it was just in time for when I moved to a different city for studying, so I was in a new place all by myself. Could barely sleep that night as the slightest noise would freak me the hell out xD
That is why I avoid it
Mr. Nightmare, you have the best horror stories of any channel. So much care is put into each story; the sounds, the music, the ambience, his voice building the story up to the climax is all just on a different level to any other story teller. He is the embodiment of quality over quantity, and that is why you are not just my favorite story teller but my favorite horror channel.
Mr. Nightmare chooses the best stories to tell! Normally I don't get too freaked out when reading or hearing spooky stories but I'll have to admit, stories 4 and 5 really gave me a fright! Mr. Nightmare has such a wonderful voice too! 10/10!! Loved this video!! :D
It’s like Michael Jackson came back from the dead
The 4th story is actually something I researched. There are spirits that are called mimics and they act like family members or friends. Apparently they are really scary if you actually see one. They are grotesque but they are just ghosts so they can't hurt you they are just annoying.
Wow didn't know this and that's creepy.
So shape shifters? Kind of like skin walkers.
Demons
There in cod
Wow that sounds terrifying. Hope It never happens to me 😟
The one where his mom has dementia is the one that freaked me out the most. For her to just go over and be in his house alone and knowing how dementia plays with the mind... whoever broke in/ came in could have hurt her or killed her. I'm glad his dad doesn't let her go on her own anymore but I can understand how it's sad for him and a sense of relief at the same time.

Story 2, whether real or fictional, has got to be one of the greatest short stories I've ever heard
Agreed. When I first heard it, I almost jumped out of my skin. That was some freaky s**t.
Story number 2 scared me the most in this video. A paranormal booby trap.
That last one gave me true fear, like my chest was tight and I wanted to cry cause I felt so terrified. The image was very unnerving too, I had to look away from it or else it would appear in my nightmares. No idea why I felt so terrified. Great video as always!
I honestly have to look away. I can’t think of anything other than that image that actually induces fear into my veins
Reminds me of The Grudge. I remember watching that movie when I was 7 and hearing that croaking sound it made. Gave me nightmares.
Seeing that last one brought back some of that fear. I stared at it the whole time while listening to the sound and regretted every moment of it lmao. I don’t know what it is about weird, creepy sounds like that and people who look just slightly different enough (like the mouth and eyes that the image had) to where it freaks the shit out of you. And then imagining something like that inching towards you or crawling on the walls is just a different kind of immense fear. I wonder why that is. Usually get scared from something because it feels dangerous. But I don’t exactly see how that would incite danger other than it looking and sounding creepy lol
You ain't alone holy smokes that head I couldn't look at it either anymore. Now I won't be able to get rid of that image in my head 😄
