that second story gives me chills. they should’ve looked into it more than just settling on it being a hallucination. i thought i was hallucinating footsteps in my attic for more than 2 years until we caught a squatter in it
It’s a more logical and likely explanation than a psycho squatter. He admitted to having other hallucinations as well so case closed. Had he never had another hallucination again then it would be really strange but he was probably diagnosed with schizophrenia otherwise he wouldn’t just believe that he hallucinated it because someone told him.
I’m a trash truck driver and I work 5 days a week and I listen to him while I’m doing my routes and it helps it cause I never know what to expect from this guy! He’s helped me through so many many things

It's crazy because I listened to this this story on Friday and on Saturday, I saw and episode of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities where this woman taxidermied her husband.
Can you imagine peaking out your window to see who your new neighbors are, only for them to bust into your house later with a katana? That's the real horror story.

But like, this is near Detroit, allegedly. An area now famous for its zombie homes and dilapidated buildings because residents who are able to squeak by can't afford to fix up their houses. If you can barely buy a loaf of bread, how are you gonna buy cleaning supplies, paint, and new windows when hooligans go and tag your ramshackle house?
I always like to imagine these stories as "misunderstandings". Like the first one was just a guy who had a movie prop in the room and the car was parked and covered in the backyard or something. Watched the guy speed off and thought "huh, weird guy". Makes them funny to me imagining people generating entire horror stories off of simple misunderstandings.

The 6th story is probably the single story from this entire channel that has scared me the most. That scream sound effect gives me chills everytime, and the jumpscare at the end is a nice addition to the remake.

Story 1 is very iconic. And my God, the story 4 and story 5 still give the chills, especially the story 4. I remember legit having chills when I first hear it.
Some weird news about story 4, I googled the name of the guys severed head, and it did sound like a match. Long hair, 17 year old, missing, I don’t know. It’s honestly really creepy.
Yeah it’s crazy. Story 4 and 6 were definitely the creepiest for me. The thought of someone abducting someone, cutting off their head, AND PROPPING THEIR SEVERED HEAD KN TOP OF A STICK, it’s some of the most fricked up crap I’ve ever heard. Story 6 is just scary because elf the thought of an unknown creature stocking you in the woods, and that scream at the end was terrifying.
I had things like that happen to me when I was a kid too. I'd wake up to my mom being in the room, but the room was so dark that I couldn't see her face. It was just a black void. She was just standing over my bed. I'd get spooked out and she'd tell me to just go back to sleep. I think she was just checking in on my brother who also stayed in my bedroom, and I.. but I think I'd wake up at the wrong time, making it feel like if she was just staring at me. I'd close my eyes and I'd just feel a slight breeze as she went away I think. Never asked her about it. Being half-asleep and in the dark fucks in your mind.
I like that one a lot! That one, the movie theatre one and the scary screaming monster in the woods one (which is really a Fox. Same thing happened to me and a fox screamed so loud it scared the shit out of me and my dog and it oddly does sound like a person kind of)

The movie theater one has haunted me for so long I've done a lot of research into it. I did find the article about a 17 year old Donald Watkins missing from Meridian Mississippi. I found his family on Facebook and I guess they found him because his aunt posted about him going missing again in 2020 and saying 'he hasn't been taking his medications.' Most recent of anything I can find online is an arrest report of a Donald Watkins in Meridian Mississippi in August 2022 for trespassing, with the same birth year as the one listed in the missing person report from 2017. His own Facebook hasn't been updated since 2018 but from the profile picture and the picture in the missing boy article I'm like 99.9% sure that's him and he appears to be alive
What year did the theater incident happen? Perhaps he was disappeared the 2nd time he went missing? Considering the fact that the untreated mentally ill are at dramatically significant increased risk of being the victims of violent crime, the idea that he might have met with foul play is not that far fetched an idea.....
I remember that first story so well! The taxidermy part was what really set it off for me 😬. That Craigslist comp video was what I think that got me into Mr.Nightmare back in like 2015. That and the pizza delivery volumes. I also remember Llama Arts animating that particular story which would eventually lead to inspiration for all the horror animators we have today.
The first story is definitely not true. I find it weird how ANYONE could believe it. One: The guy drove to get the car, alone. How did he think he would get the other car, he can't drive two cars at once, lol. Two: if it was truly a taxidermy human why on earth he didn't call the police? He never mentioned calling them. Not once. And I'm very certain that something like that happening would be on the news.

I know a few people who say they have encountered the Jersey Devil, in South Jersey. While listening to their stories, you could tell they were terrified, by the looks in their eyes, tone of voice and body language. It definitely creeped me out.

I think the hallucination one isn’t all that uncommon for children. I remember I believed in Santa undeniably my whole childhood. The reason being, I vividly remember (still to this day) one year waking up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve seeing Santa peeking in my room. I remember, once my parents told me the truth, thinking that maybe it was my dad dressed up but they said he never dressed up as Santa.
@@Pilk4life With how cruel this world can be, it’s not that hard to believe. Plus I heard a story about a kid seeing Santa and talking to him. The kid goes back to bed and sees that the presents are gone. He says he saw Santa and his parents are shocked, and call the police.

so the guy heard and saw a guy trying to break in to the house and just went back to bed, hoping the guy would just go away, and opted not to tell his uncle, especially an armed uncle? That is absolutely insane.
No, he only went to the bed to pretend he was asleep, because he thought the guy saw him. And because he didn't hear the clang again, he knew that the guy did in fact see him; which meant he either left, or he was staring through the window, which he was. But he was clearly intending to tell the uncle, given that he was literally getting up to tell the uncle, when he saw the guy standing at the window. You could say that he should have run straight to the uncle when he saw the guy. But he was smart to try to be quiet, not alert the intruder, and especially to lock the window.
Oh yeah, story 4 gives me flashbacks of pre pandemic feels. No restrictions, the best weekends, festivals, sports, and awesome people. Life was goooood👌. Thanks Mr. Nightmare.

Really wouldn't mind some more of these. I started listening to true creepy stories way back in December of 2015, and most of my absolute favorite stories were the ones I heard during the first 3 or 4 months of 2016. At least one night a week, I had serious trouble going to sleep. Since then, it's been incredibly difficult to find anything that really gets under my skin.
It's the same for me. When I first started listening I would get so scared but now it's hard to even find one that gets my heart rate up! And I listen to a lot of different narrators.
The second story about how the mom went into the closet , that happened to my best friend she told me her mom walk into her closet closed the door and never saw her until the morning ….

I seriously love Mr. Nightmare. I remember watching his videos in Elementary school and since then my opinion on his content hasn't changed at all. He's honestly my favorite story teller other than Mr. Ballen- And the consistency of each upload this month as well is awesome! Also, the movie theatre story scared the living hell out of me- As a kid, I swore there was someone lurking in the local Jr. High school's auditorium and hearing another story of something creepy happening in a similar environment just freaks me out more

In hindsight, in story 5 Marv was probably just like, high out of his mind watching TV and didn't even realize there were knocks at the door. Yeah it’s crazy. Story 4 and 6 were definitely the creepiest for me. The thought of someone abducting someone, cutting off their head, AND PROPPING THEIR SEVERED HEAD KN TOP OF A STICK, it’s some of the most fricked up crap I’ve ever heard. Story 6 is just scary because elf the thought of an unknown creature stocking you in the woods, and that scream at the end was terrifying.
The mom in the closet one is really unsettling, and I can see that being 100% truthfully recollected.
TBH, I don’t really remember hearing that story. Do you remember what video it is from?
I had things like that happen to me when I was a kid too. I'd wake up to my mom being in the room, but the room was so dark that I couldn't see her face. It was just a black void. She was just standing over my bed. I'd get spooked out and she'd tell me to just go back to sleep. I think she was just checking in on my brother who also stayed in my bedroom, and I.. but I think I'd wake up at the wrong time, making it feel like if she was just staring at me. I'd close my eyes and I'd just feel a slight breeze as she went away I think. Never asked her about it. Being half-asleep and in the dark fucks in your mind.
I like that one a lot! That one, the movie theatre one and the scary screaming monster in the woods one (which is really a Fox. Same thing happened to me and a fox screamed so loud it scared the shit out of me and my dog and it oddly does sound like a person kind of)

Agreed, by 10:50 I would have drawn and give him one (1) verbal warning to remain seated during my exfil in the lobby where staff shall be alerted about his presence and a refund for the ticket processed. Anyway, why bother researching online for murders or abductions without filing a police report? That information would be more pertinent to investigators than whoever is answering phone calls at your local theatre

I used to feel comfortable going to the movie theater alone, even if I ended up being the only person in the movie. But after listening to story #4, I will never again go alone again.

The movie theater one has haunted me for so long I've done a lot of research into it. I did find the article about a 17 year old Donald Watkins missing from Meridian Mississippi. I found his family on Facebook and I guess they found him because his aunt posted about him going missing again in 2020 and saying 'he hasn't been taking his medications.' Most recent of anything I can find online is an arrest report of a Donald Watkins in Meridian Mississippi in August 2022 for trespassing, with the same birth year as the one listed in the missing person report from 2017. His own Facebook hasn't been updated since 2018 but from the profile picture and the picture in the missing boy article I'm like 99.9% sure that's him and he appears to be alive

Considering the fact that the untreated mentally ill are at dramatically significant increased risk of being the victims of violent crime, the idea that he might have met with foul play is not that far fetched an idea.....

I remember that first story so well! The taxidermy part was what really set it off for me 😬. That Craigslist comp video was what I think that got me into Mr.Nightmare back in like 2015. That and the pizza delivery volumes. I also remember Llama Arts animating that particular story which would eventually lead to inspiration for all the horror animators we have today.

The first story is definitely not true. I find it weird how ANYONE could believe it.
One: The guy drove to get the car, alone. How did he think he would get the other car, he can't drive two cars at once, lol. Two: if it was truly a taxidermy human why on earth he didn't call the police? He never mentioned calling them. Not once. And I'm very certain that something like that happening would be on the news.

Story 6 was so masterfully told. The atmosphere was spot-on, the sounds, and the scream. It might be my favorite story on the channel.
1) Craigslist is probably not the most trustworthy site to buy a car.
2) I really hope that was in fact a hallucination

4) Glad that person ran out of the theater before becoming a victim

I know a few people who say they have encountered the Jersey Devil, in South Jersey. While listening to their stories, you could tell they were terrified, by the looks in their eyes, tone of voice and body language. It definitely creeped me out.

I think the hallucination one isn’t all that uncommon for children. I remember I believed in Santa undeniably my whole childhood. The reason being, I vividly remember (still to this day) one year waking up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve seeing Santa peeking in my room. I remember, once my parents told me the truth, thinking that maybe it was my dad dressed up but they said he never dressed up as Santa.

No, he only went to the bed to pretend he was asleep, because he thought the guy saw him. And because he didn't hear the clang again, he knew that the guy did in fact see him; which meant he either left, or he was staring through the window, which he was. But he was clearly intending to tell the uncle, given that he was literally getting up to tell the uncle, when he saw the guy standing at the window. You could say that he should have run straight to the uncle when he saw the guy. But he was smart to try to be quiet, not alert the intruder, and especially to lock the window.
Dude I’m just here for the scary stories, and I honestly find it kinda refreshing to revisit old spooky tales.

Really wouldn't mind some more of these. I started listening to true creepy stories way back in December of 2015, and most of my absolute favorite stories were the ones I heard during the first 3 or 4 months of 2016. At least one night a week, I had serious trouble going to sleep. Since then, it's been incredibly difficult to find anything that really gets under my skin.
It's the same for me. When I first started listening I would get so scared but now it's hard to even find one that gets my heart rate up! And I listen to a lot of different narrators.
Oof. I remember finding creepypasta in like 2006 and reading the entire site within a few days.

Also, the movie theatre story scared the living hell out of me- As a kid, I swore there was someone lurking in the local Jr. High school's auditorium and hearing another story of something creepy happening in a similar environment just freaks me out more
