    ACC is what I have chosen to start with as my main sim racing game. Jardier has been insane with the amount of help with tips and racing guides. His guides have helped me so much in my progress as a rookie sim driver. ACC has been an amazing sim for a realistic and also beautiful racing experience and I hope they expand beyond GT3/GT4 or at least update AC1 to ACC standards/or better.

    • @mojolito

      I am also new to sim racing and I’ve tried a few different sims. Even though I want to do some F1 too, ACC had me hooked. Going back to AC1 is painful in many ways, everything about the UI and graphics feel so cheap in comparison.

    • @BeowulfGaming
      @BeowulfGaming 2 года назад +3

      @@mojolito what do you mean by AC1? the original assetto from 2014? that game relies on mods, and with mods looks better than ACC but it takes time to mod and set up :)

    Suggestion: You could do a series of videos about setups in ACC (like one video about the tyres tab, another about the mechanical grip tab...). The setups are a big struggle for most of the people in ACC, and you could share a bit of your knouledge

    I loved GT growing up but I went to hot laps in rally games partly because I gained a fear of track racing in terms of bumping into people and ruining someone's race. HOWEVER, because of yours and Jimmy's content, and the winter sale, I finally said I am gonna give track racing another shot. So thanks Jardier for helping us with these guides here and on Overtake!

    Another tip is not worry about car choice too much. I've spent way too much time in free practice singleplayer trying out all the different cars on different tracks and in hindsight I wish I spent less time trying to find the perfect main car and more time spent racing. So try them all, but pick your main car sooner rather than later and then stick with it. Not that you can't use other cars after that but that's what most people recommend because it allows you to really get to learn the car and the physics.
    Also, go to free practice, pick your car and any track, drive 3 - 4 clean laps, hit escape and go back to the garage as you go over the line, adjust for tyre pressures, then drive 3 - 4 laps again and see if the pressures are alright. If so, save the setup with the temperatures in the filename. Then do this for every track. It's a bit of work but you'll get the correct tyre pressures quicker in MP because you only need to adjust for temperature. One click up or down for every ambient degree colder or hotter is what people usually recommend.
    First two or three laps in an MP race: go ahead and use 3 to 4 clicks higher TC, then go back down when the tyres are up to temperature. You won't lose significant time / position because the cars are still close together anyway. A lot of people spin out on cold tyres on the first lap and this will help prevent that. Maybe when you get more experience you won't have to do that but if you're just starting out give it a go.
    Oh, and when following a car close behind, don't forget to brake a bit earlier. :-) Aris (one of the devs) did a stream on this that you can watch called 'How to Race'.

So looked at reviews for a wheel. Decided on T300. Also bought AC, ACC, Automobalista 2 and Project cars 2 on PC. Tried the wheel after setting it up on PC. Wow blown away with how good these games are with a wheel compared to controller.

Anyway, I didn't even know what to look for for specifications, or what was important for smooth ride in ACC. I use CSL Elite (official F1) base with CSL elite pedals (+ LC) and I have a feeling that I have not accomplish full potential of this setup. That is why I am looking to switch to a PC platform that also has other possibilities. Once again, thank you and congrats for winning a 24h race for Anna. I really enjoyed it

    Too Long Don't Have To Read:
    I might not be in position to pick up any "fresh" sim-stuff (sticking with GTR2 - yeah, cars are old but general feeling somehow is similar) or even the wheel (just a "normal" laptop with external keyboard for racing), I do love stuff you do and I must say - like two years ago I had to use High TC for any car with keyboard. And even with that I would spin out every 12 minutes (literally). With all races I have watched and stories been told (well, sometimes I even forget that there is race in background!) I have got to place where I can drive with Low TC for long races actually pushing the car and doing corners in right way (in short - before I tried to overcook entry and tires, losing ton of time and placing myself into spinning position), understanding what car actually does. Sure, keyboard has it's limitations but now I don't have to "regret" not having wheel so much and can spend free money for kartinh "outside".
    Cheers and get these 100K this year!

  • @CondorDrake
    @CondorDrake 2 года назад

    I dug out my old G25 and tried to run this. Installed game and hopped into a training session on Monza - I can't even stay on the track for more than like 2-3 corners lol. I think I managed to do 2 "clean" laps in a row in like 50 laps I tried, but I still haven't been able to complete 4 clean laps in a row so far. The wheel is hyper sensitive, like when you touch and move it by 0,1°, the car in game will almost make a 90° curve. So whenever I get out of a corner and try to just get the car to drive straight again, I notch the wheel left/right trying to make it go straight and spin out immediately. Not sure what I'm doing wrong there, I had no problems with rFactor (the old one, back then) and even drove 24hr races there, but in ACC I can hardly get a single lap done, and that is when I'm alone on a track.

    AOR is still the biggest sprint league by a considerable margin (400 signups and counting for the upcoming Season 9) ;)

    I understand what is steering lock but it doesn't do anything. I change it and wheel turns the same amount of degrees. I can put it to 90° and still I need to turn it 900°. What am I missing?

    Nice and helpful video, especially the multiplayer shout out for the leagues and LFM. Unfortunately I've to correct you on some things. PC ingame FFB gain >50% introduces clipping by design for lower end wheels. With a DD you should try to stay below 50% and increase the wheel base FFB strength (incl. FEI) wherever possible. Also 800° steering lock isn't enough if you plan to go for GT4. Few cars have 900°, e. g. Maserati GT4. In my experience there is absolutely no difference of changing the steering lock on a car to car basis, except you want to achieve a different steering ratio when the car setup options are not enough. Also DLSS adds quite alot of CPU overhead because of its temporal nature and may introduce some temporal artifacts. FSR doesn't and it may be the better choice for lower end systems , while it may not look as sharp as DLSS (even in High Quality mode).

      Some people want to change the steering from car to car so they get a "soft lock", so the real wheel stops where the game wheel stops. Personally i don't understand why you would need that, but personal preference.
