I think cheaters tend to be younger and want to treat ACC like an arcade racer. Others like data mining and testing. The problem happens when you are on a dedicated competition server and they bring their hot mess over.
It's always been clear for ACC that there was cheaters. There was too many 1% racers that were insane speed compared to all the other sims i've played and league raced in, ACC must have magically gotten the cream of the crop for the game because all the leagues have way too many 'aliens'. There is no way i can prove it ofcourse but if you have been simracing competitively for over decade you catch wind of these things fairly quickly. And this is obviously because of all simracing devs not caring about anticheat. It is even worse knowing a lot of this competitions in ACC had prizepools at the end of them. 0.2% grip or power won't be noticed by 99% of people and it is way too accesible for some people to not do it.
Back in the day in GTR2, people using speed hacks were doing it deliberately to ram and send other outside the track bounds, ensuring their race was over. Looks like this guy has at least better manners..
I was in the lobby, I asked him in the chat to reach the maximum speed, he got 420km, I have a replay of that, it's funny to see the car literally flipping over in the curves but it's sad to see that he was trying to defame Darren King's name and making fun him in chat
It is important that people talk about this and are aware of it. Also when developers ask what new things people would want to see, it would be nice if instead of new skins people would request improvements in anti-cheat.
I used to watch a warzone streamer & he actually got a cheater into voice chat with him & he asked why they cheat & they just said it’s fun, makes them laugh, not to win, just for fun & basically piss everyone else off
Oh man, you brought up such a touchy subject. I completely share your hatred of cheaters. I believe that there should be some official body that detects cheaters and bans them for life. At the same time, such a ban will not allow them to spoil the lives of others, even in the case of creating new accounts.
It is a never-ending evil... it happens in ACC, it happens in other games and sadly it is an almost impossible struggle like telling the thief not to steal again... and this bad practice is killing the games, because not even the consoles Save, cheats already exist on consoles. Hopefully one day soon we will see a solution to this.
I simply enjoy racing. I’m fully aware that I will never be a professional. It has never crossed my mind to cheat-it would feel like lying to myself, and on top of that, I would ruin others' fun as well. However, cheaters are partly the reason why I don't even try to race online. :/
For me personally I’m not an overly competitive person in sim racing. I do endurance leagues and I’m usually mid to lower end of the field but I just have the mindset of not caring if someone is cheating as it doesn’t fully impact my experience but I can’t understand if others hate it. I do believe that anti-cheating is necessary in a competitive scene especially if there are events with prizes involved.
I dont know any local friends that i can race with that still believe in clean racing. I enjoy watching you and your"crowd" plus the equipment reviews are very helpful
I learned back in the Sega Master System days cheating in games was only screwing yourself... I cheated my way through a game, and finished it, lost the desire to play it again and realised i rorted myself out of the purchase price of the game at the end of the day...
You know what sad is? When you alter game files to have advantage and you still finish p15, because you don't know principles... But you are right, J. Now on LFM on top split lobbies when I see Quali times 2 tenths off world record from P1-P10 I start questioning... It;s NEVER they are just faster than me anymore :(
If replay saved inputs and had option to replicate inputs within the physics for comparison while also being able to replicate the replay as iss the "comparison" would spot a cheater even if it was +0.5% grip or less, it would be spotted on the comparison (or if replay had a ghost replicating the inputs while keeping the replay intact, this would leave no room for error if someone was cheating or not and replay woujld also require car setup, tyre wear and damages to be replicated too). It would be a "no doubt" if someone was cheating or not but I dont think any replay system work like that
The telemetry is in the replay file. If you bring up the HUD you can see throttle, brake, and steering input. We just need a better way to see it in more detail. Applying it to another car might be tricky.
@@iVTECInside Yes we have telemetry but it is possible to notice if it is "stupid cheat" such as the one at the video, but if it is a slight 0.5% or 1% gain it is way harder to notice. If game records telemetry (what it does) but replicate the physics with its inputs on a ghost then the ghost would not deliver the same results for the same inputs (so the player car would be ahead of the ghost despite using exactly the same inputs and it would result in a total disconnection between ghost and player that would only become more severe as a lap goes on and even bigger from lap to lap (to the point a ghost would be crashing or spinning somewhere while the player would not be).
I am beginning to think that the manufacturers (Kunos, Studio 297, Iracing) have a duty. They always say that anticheater software is so expensive. But they earn so much from us simracers that I'm beginning to see it as their duty to develop decent cheater software. Thank you Jardier for this video. You are absolutely right!
One thing to keep in mind about having an anti-cheat is Usually cheats have a decent impact on the performance of the application. That would mean fewer fps and stuttering for some users. Of course, depends on each application. The more resources that normally require an application, the higher the chance of having these issues. ACC is also made with Unreal, which is a highly moddable engine making it easier to cheat.
Today are cheaters , modders, everywhere, specially in multiplayer games, simulators, etc. But it’s a shame for the game developers who can’t protect their game code for this kind of no skill people in the games but a pros to cheat the game, simulator, etc. In 1985 there was no cheating, today is in all multiplayer games .
It's really a pity that cheating found the way to the ACC racing series. I mean ok there always where cheater in public lobbys, if think it's really hard for the developers of a game to avoid this. But what makes me really sad is, that all the newcomers in ACC has to prove that they're not cheating if they're is fast. And also it's really sad as a newcomer to find his own point of view to get better. Cheating is a big problem atm i hope something changes.
This is the reason we have random motec supply in the league i race with top 3 garunteed with 2 other random place getters. We've been clean of late however we did have one endurance team banned from the league for it
Totally agree, Jardier. Also, what fun is there in cheating? I'm not the fastest but I enjoy a battle anywhere in the pack. Surely, in those cases where a car is going faster than is possible, the devs can auto ban them.
It’s wild this has been a topic for years now. Iv watched a lot of people whose cars are on rails and just assume I’m extra slow. But that little thought is always in my mind.
Have you checked what Kirill is doing after he got banned? Long story short - he developed his own cheat engine. Also there are some rumors he worked or is still working with NB Setups (you know the guys who didn't set Ford Mustang record lap in a LFM BOP server, but did it on their private one). Ah yes.. and weirdly enough they did an BMW record time on Nords on LFMHL server. So now BMW on Nords has +32kg while Ford has +7kg :D
Its sad. Public Lobbies in ACC are fucked these days. Yesterday i drove on Spa against one Cheater. He hitted like not a single Line, jumped over bumbs and stuff but still was 7 seconds quicker then the second place (me). Its frustrating. Especially because I'm just starting to get really fast and learn a lot.
The only people who cheat are the ones who can't do well on their own, no matter the game/sim! I used to play COD, but I won't anymore because it is inundated with cheaters.
I speak as someone who frequently races in public lobbies; A game that cannot even penalize backmarkers who crash around just for fun can never penalize hackers. Also, I'm surprised that the cheater issue was brought up so late by you bro. Some hackers even mocks people who warns them in the chat by knowing nothing would happen to them. I have left ACC completely and been racing in AC1 for 1 year and I am definitely a happier person. At least I’m not losing any hard earned safety points.
I always laugh when I mention cheats in sim racing still. And people swear up and down there has never been a single cheater/hacker in sim racing. “I’m just bad” 😂
I’m with you I absolutely hate cheaters in anything. Personally I put it down to a sense of entitlement. There are a lot of people these days that think that they should have anything they want without having to put the work in to get it.
That is sad to hear this is going on in current SIM racing games. If this is happening in ACC, then probably other popular SIM racing games may have the same problems. Myself, I do not do online racing anymore. Haven't done competition racing for a long time, i miss the racing, but just don't have the time. Anyway, Good luck to anyone solving the online cheating problems.
It destroys games. Counter Strike 2 was supposed to move their esports to the internal ingame ladder but it is impossible as only cheaters are on the top. Also it destroys the credibility of all the big events that are pulling an audience and it is worse than doping. Doping makes sports easier but still you need to invest your whole life to win, cheating in games you can do with zero skill. It is a blight on all forms of gaming and it should become illegal.
The problem with anticheats is that no matter how good the anticheat is, there will be cheaters regardless. It's in every game, be it shooters, MOBAs or anything else. Yes, they might get banned eventually, but the damage is already done and there will be new cheats soon, anyway. Besides, a good anticheat is very expensive to develop. Cheaters will be just one step ahead every time no matter what.
In this year we have got an example of cheating in Italian community, after the finish of the ACI (Italian federal Championship), where a driver and also his teammates became aliens drivers for 3-4 months. The results? The team don't exist anymore, and these drivers have changed game because they were banned from all Italians community, but they won the title 🤙
hi jardier this great video but i have to say i am done with ACC this is why i have gone to iracing but i will be looking at AC EVO BTW grate racing the other day in the renault clio you are doing so well thats what i call real racing keep up the good work and racing
I am 40 and I never cheated in any game in my life because how would you enjoy something competive if you know you have a major advantage? Now thanks to this video, since its release people started calling me I am cheating just because I am fast. I race in public lobbies as I have a kid and not much time for serious LFM lately. I usually do quali in a public lobby, if nobody is close to my time I just start last and have my fun like that. But now almost 90% of races people started calling me cheater. Jardier you shoulsnt be saying things like this as honest and fast people are getting called cheaters because of you. I dont deserve this shit mate!
What if like at least few people at LFM Pro would be cheating, but they using it to gain like 0,2s per lap and they are good at hiding it? That is the issue. How can we be sure if someone is cheating or not, not including very obvious ridiculous things?
You can't be sure. The fastest 0,1% of players are going to be your best anti-cheat - if they find it really sus, it probably is cheats or atleast bug abuse.
That Orlow guy cheated for ages, he would be half a second faster than the top esports guys and no one cared because he only raced M2 and GT4s. I don't doubt theres a couple guys on esports doing shady stuff
@@sp33dou The fastest players can't be used as anti-cheat also, in instance If someone is 0.3s slower they just adjust it to be competitive at the top and not be suspicious.
Cheaters are the cancer of gaming - it doesn't matter whether they are in racing games, FPS games, or other types of games... These people are sick... they can't accept possible failure, that's why they do what they do
Thank you for just talking the way we all talk. The F bombs just make you one of us type thing. It's nice to have someone not censor themselves on RUclips. Thanks for being real.
@Jardier cheating isn't about winning, it's about not wanting to lose. It comes from a person having low self esteem and low self worth. Think about it, we say "work harder, improve your skills", but they think "I can't win, the game isn't fair". Why would someone put hard work into improving themselves if they think that they are worthless?
There are many motives for it. Biggest motive is money. People use cheats to boost accounts, which they will sell later on. Then there is the motive you mentioned. One of the least known motives is government pr/propaganda. I know that China and Russia have both had state organized esports teams, which were utilizing custom cheats to win competitors. Funny thing was that they were actually so bad that some times they managed to lose even with aimbot and wh or with sophisticated macros in League of Legends.
im part of a discord group and some one linked to new cheats for ACC that cost $100 and gives you cruse control, double car speed and 100% grip, seems like last 6 to 12months new cheats have been coming out for ACC, so might be time for them to add some kind of anti cheat
Jardier, even if it is for money, there is no justification or attempt to understand the usage of something that gives you an advantage that no one else has, period. Cheating is cheating, end of story
The psychology of the cheater is complex, ranging from the child who doesn't know better and is excited about "the fun of it", to the sociopath who can not accept being lesser than others and thus choose to prevent others from achieving greateness. A hypothetical question to illuminat this could be: Would you, if you could without getting caught; prevent someone from winning a lottery in which you are not partaking? Are you playing to win, unconcerned with your opponent's experience? Do you find pride in your win, or do you find pride in the defeat of you opponents? Are you playing a game, or are you waging war? Do you fight to win a war, or do you fight to win a peace? Another cheater is "the scientist", who in order to find things out, alters the settings to see what happens. This is not done to "make little of others", but to find an understanding about a process, one's existence, or a game engine. "I prefere to play games were all participants win. One might get a gold medal, but everyone had a worthwhile, and/or a good time."
What I hate about cheating is that the cheater is a human given the same skills and same capabilities as every other human, yet you decide to take the shortcut instead of practicing and improving yourself. Cheating for me removes the complete sense of accomplishment, the joy and everything…. it just sucks.
Why do people even feel the need to cheat in ACC in the first place? Why not just mod your car in the original AC to go 300,000 mph and pat yourself on the back
at first-great video jadier and thx 4 ur work. since the first video came out about acc and cheating, more and more cheater videos are popping up... where does this come from? why wasn't this spread to the masses earlier? Is this perhaps just a reason to leave acc without upsetting the community?
I Swear i get cheaters in LE Mans Ultimate Ill be fastest on poll position then when it comes to race ill be taking all corners great but 2 or 3 people just foot down round a corner without even lifting, Ive watched multiple replays to see what the hell is going on
Getting the feeling that many players have found out about how to cheat as I'm always in bottom at public and 1 year ago i was in top split, might be players generally getting faster and I'm not 😂 but it feels different in a way at public this days
It's because they aren't good at it and they know they'll never be good. But being that obvious is just pathetic. Taking away from good drivers. He mad.
Obvious cheating is like pointing that the game is broken and no serious competition could be held on it. The scary thing is that you can't tell if "pro" is cheating also ( because assuming everyone is cheating ) for a fraction of %. That fraction or 1km/h or so is only what it takes for a win in pro league. For me I would rather not compete in a game where cheating is possible, drive for fun but not competing.
I'm a slow racer, and I don't have time to practice. But as you said, when I get on the server and join a race...... then I want to feel like it's real. Even though I quali mid field and lose places at the start. I gain a couple of them, and the thrill of being composed, racing, etc... that's why I play. I finish at the back of the field a lot, but so be it. That's my level, and I don't mind. I enjoyed battles and enjoyed doing what I could. I'm happy about it, it's an experience... It wouldn't be when I would install a hack or a cheat... it would take away all the fun
When I first started Sim racing I thought that people wanted a realistic experience. But what can you do nowadays it's all about fake it till you make it, you don't have to have skills and integrity, just look like you have it. There is no empathy only your ego!!!
I don't personally cheat, but I know in certain things, like actual top level motorsport, teams cheat because everyone cheats. In f1, if you don't cheat, you don't win. You just have to find the most creative ways to cheat and not get caught
I am not a cheater. BUT I am always super frustrated with my own competitiveness. I dont have time to decicate myself to finding perfect lines and edgecase setups. This means, when I do have time to enjoy some SIM racing, I am usually put with the nuckleheads that consistently crash at T2 on every track, OR I am put on the grid with aliens and I am suddenly 4-5 seconds of the pace. I totally get why some people are drawn to getting that 0,1% advantage to feel like they actually belong with other people who take the SIM seriously.
Hang in there buddy. We have seen this problem before with other games. Third party anti cheat software could be the answer to this. Hopefully ACC2 has some protection or perhaps plans to solve this issue.
I've been gaming for 45 years and have always been of the opinion that if you have to cheat at a game then maybe that game isn't for you. Just lately, I have noticed what looks like an increase in this behaviour in ACC. When someone, in exactly the same car as you, is getting an incredible launch out of T1/T2 at Monza, it bring up your bullshit-o-meter.
I could cheat, I could hack the files to give me that 420kmh boost, I could hack the tyre grip. However my ability is such that I'd still bloody lose though.
Omg I was in this lobby.!! I remember seeing this guy blitzing past us all the time. He was so annoying. Caused so many accidents. I'm 707. This was a pub lobby. He didn't even finish the game. He just quit to pits
some people caught cheating in AC this year in league racing for prizes, they have anti-cheat but obv when new cheats come out it takes time...they were spotted when server re-starts each session they leave and come back...not sure how they look at themselves in the mirror! hope they are reading this! 🙂
Bro accelerated faster than the Top Fuel Dragster right there. One reason I quit ACC is because it has no Anti-Cheat System, I am a CyberSecurity student and knowing that a game without Anti-Cheat or bad Anti-Cheat is a bad game because you'll never win fairly.
i mean we paid for these platforms, why that FPS game we pay for has anti cheat evens free games have anti cheat but non of the sim racing games has anti cheat what gives ??? the big question is will ac2 evo have an anti cheat?????
I admit since the cheating issue got out I had too many suspects and made wrong accusations (not in public but still) over legit very fast guys I found. It is even worse knowing a lot of this competitions in ACC had prizepools at the end of them. 0.2% grip or power won't be noticed by 99% of people and it is way too accesible for some people to not do it.
watch out jardier community will come after you
Back in the day in GTR2, people using speed hacks were doing it deliberately to ram and send other outside the track bounds, ensuring their race was over.
One thing is for sure ... We all know what work the mom does of these people who use cheats.
All the studios turn a blind eye because a lot of them stream which boosts sales
This discussion is decades old. It's never going to change.
A GT car with afterburners on practically, jeezus that acceleration 😂😂
Jardier always has that positive attitude and a smile. So refreshing to watch.
Surely, in those cases where a car is going faster than is possible, the devs can auto ban them.
if you can't beat them, join them... it's a lose-lose situation for the honest players
Like people in Forza playing on keyboard beating everybody and people even applauding
???
cheating in assetto corsa is peak level of ''i dont know what to to with my life''
It’s wild this has been a topic for years now.
We live in a decadent society. The ecstasy that comes from cheating in competitive online games is only a reflection of real life.
Cheaters cheat for popularity until they get caught.
The only people who cheat are the ones who can't do well on their own, no matter the game/sim! I used to play COD, but I won't anymore because it is inundated with cheaters.
4:44 the cheater.
DEv: we need telemetry because we are not sure if he cheating.
🤣
“I’m just bad” 😂
cheats
I’m with you I absolutely hate cheaters in anything.
Personally I put it down to a sense of entitlement. There are a lot of people these days that think that they should have anything they want without having to put the work in to get it.
That is sad to hear this is going on in current SIM racing games. If this is happening in ACC, then probably other popular SIM racing games may have the same problems. Myself, I do not do online racing anymore. Haven't done competition racing for a long time, i miss the racing, but just don't have the time.
Anyway, Good luck to anyone solving the online cheating problems.
Phew, I thought this was going to be about me when I got the notification..
😂
This is on the online challenges for ps5. Someone doing a 2:01 on spa is bloody ridiculous 🙄
Makes me wonder , if they are working on anti cheat for AC EVO?
I’d be surprised. Press X to doubt
Probably Not :(
In this year we have got an example of cheating in Italian community, after the finish of the ACI (Italian federal Championship), where a driver and also his teammates became aliens drivers for 3-4 months.
I just googled it.
There is an active cheat which locks your fuel at 0.5 litres.
I'm sadge people do this.
I wonder if some cheaters, like the flipping car make it so obvious to highlight to people that the game has plenty of cheaters.
Cheaters are the cancer of gaming - it doesn't matter whether they are in racing games, FPS games, or other types of games... These people are sick... they can't accept possible failure, that's why they do what they do
Some people dont understand intrinsically what hypocrisy means. Cheaters are probably concerned. They are hypocrites without knowing it.
We need a series exposing cheaters. Request replays to your email and expose them on your channel.
im part of a discord group and some one linked to new cheats for ACC that cost $100 and gives you cruse control, double car speed and 100% grip, seems like last 6 to 12months new cheats have been coming out for ACC, so might be time for them to add some kind of anti cheat
People cheating in iRacing is why we can't have even basic tire data for dashboards.
Is there really cheaters on I racing I haven’t ran into one I thought it was under control there
Jardier, even if it is for money, there is no justification or attempt to understand the usage of something that gives you an advantage that no one else has, period. Cheating is cheating, end of story
The psychology of the cheater is complex, ranging from the child who doesn't know better and is excited about "the fun of it", to
the sociopath who can not accept being lesser than others and thus choose to prevent others from achieving greateness.
A hypothetical question to illuminat this could be:
Would you, if you could without getting caught; prevent someone from winning a lottery in which you are not partaking?
Are you playing to win, unconcerned with your opponent's experience?
Do you find pride in your win, or do you find pride in the defeat of you opponents?
Are you playing a game, or are you waging war?
Do you fight to win a war, or do you fight to win a peace?
Another cheater is "the scientist", who in order to find things out, alters the settings to see what happens. This is not done to
"make little of others", but to find an understanding about a process, one's existence, or a game engine.
Why not just mod your car in the original AC to go 300,000 mph and pat yourself on the back
I think there are lots of subtle cheaters in this game.... A proper anticheat systen is a must in any simracing game.
at first-great video jadier and thx 4 ur work.
since the first video came out about acc and cheating, more and more cheater videos are popping up... where does this come from? why wasn't this spread to the masses earlier? Is this perhaps just a reason to leave acc without upsetting the community?
I Swear i get cheaters in LE Mans Ultimate Ill be fastest on poll position then when it comes to race ill be taking all corners great but 2 or 3 people just foot down round a corner without even lifting, Ive watched multiple replays to see what the hell is going on
I haven’t played much ACC after hearing about cheating it felt pointless to race random people on the internet.
Another reason why I don't race online. Stopped almost all online gaming in general. Cheating has just gotten out of hand.
It's why i only drive on LFM.
I just wish LFM would purge the list of fastest laps in GT4 and M2.
Cheaters are people who haven't achieved much in life and they blame everyone around them for their failures
some people caught cheating in AC this year in league racing for prizes, they have anti-cheat but obv when new cheats come out it takes time...they were spotted when server re-starts each session they leave and come back...not sure how they look at themselves in the mirror! hope they are reading this!
Why do they cheat? Just to show us that they are Gods in games. To feel invincible and unbeatable. To show off their abilities in games.
i mean we paid for these platforms, why that FPS game we pay for has anti cheat evens free games have anti cheat but non of the sim racing games has anti cheat what gives ??? the big question is will ac2 evo have an anti cheat?????
7:32 in the SWToR was absolutely besotted with PVP cheating, funny thing was I still managed to kill them even with the guy flying about the map .
The Dev should troll the cheaters by locking cheater steering wheel to straight
I admit since the cheating issue got out I had too many suspects and made wrong accusations (not in public but still) over legit very fast guys I found. It took me time and replay/telemetry study to acknowledge it was my "skill issue" haha, but yeah this situation is horrible. We can't trust anyone anymore
