I think I have two candidates that would enjoy a dead heat in the form of Nissan 2018 fighting with AMG for the exact same criteria you mentioned and although it is way faster than both regular Lamborghini GT3 cars the Reiter Lambo which is lovely with it's wider body profile but absolutely require proper knowledge, experience and enormous time to achieve comparative performance. I managed to surprise persons in lfm practice lobbies at Zandvoort and also proper dismissed others in a multi-player race at Spa but given the efforts to make it drivable and done before I even had a clue how to use Motec I wouldn't recommend it period let alone for beginners.

Lambo is definitely a bit off the pace, but I think it's actually pretty good as a rookie car because of how driveable it is. For so many rookies the problem isn't lap time, it's consistency, and I think Lambo is pretty easy to drive for a finish.

    • @tirtel1
      @tirtel1 2 года назад +27

Yeah Lambo made me learn not to spin and in fact finish races, as it is just extremely grippy. But that can be both a blessing and a curse, as if you drive any other car like you drive Lambo, you're gonna suffer.

    • @Dornogol
      @Dornogol 2 года назад +3

Yeah I tried 75% of the cars when starting with acc (just like a dozen laps on 2-3 tracks i already knew) and the lambo was the one I got immediately the best pace with. So I drove it for my first 150 hours and learned the game on it xD but yeah it is fucked in every corner if you are not a great driver (yet) and felt only quick in the acceleration

The lambo is like a boat.. I don't like its handling. I think you need a well setup but a rookie does not use setups atleast when they got the game recently. The Ferrari is a good starter car also the Lexus. The last one is probably one of the best ones to start with because it is not too challenging but also challenging in some areas, which teaches you the best and basics in my opinion.

I'm wondering if by rookie you mean a rookie to ACC because as a rookie to track racing in general I'd say the most important thing to learn are the tracks and race craft.
Once you have those down *then* you can start worrying about min-maxing your car control. Perfect pedal control doesn't matter in a stable car with TC, but not knowing where to brake for a corner or not knowing how to overtake safely will straight up end your race before it begins.
So until you have a handle on track knowledge and race craft just pick the most stable, easiest car to get around the track lap after lap so you burn those corners into your brain and could drive them blind folded.

A series I would like to see is setup guides, I’m a complete novice where sim racing is concerned and also don’t know anything about cars (great combination haha) so I’m always on the lookout for what settings to adjust and what effects they have on the car both good and bad
I’m not looking for anything too in-depth as I know this would be very time consuming, but basic info as to how say adjusting the wing for instance will have an effect on car performance
I say this like it’s an easy topic, which I’m sure it’s not, but it’s one I’m interested in trying to learn, I know a lot of things are trial and error, but I think a basic knowledge on the effects of adjustment would help people like me gain a better knowledge and understanding of where to start 😁

  • @exidrial431

2:40 Really? I started Sim Racing not too long ago and the NSX was my first serious pick.
I was struggling with most cars (The Porsche 911 especially, for obvious reasons) but to me the NSX feels very easy to control.
Sure it sometimes, seemingly randomly, loses control when you hit curbs aggressively but other than that it's a very fun and stable car to me.
It might just be that I've gotten used to the car by now. Just goes to show that everybody has different driving styles so some cars may be much better suited to ones driving style than another - I encourage any newbie here to experiment with car choices.
If you've picked a car from this list as your main car and you're enjoying it so far then please keep going. Fun is the single most important thing.

Its traction feels so good, but I am completely unable to handle faster corners that need just a lift, a dab of the brakes or trail braking at high speed. The car immediately wants to swap ends. Tuning the behavior out just seems to gimp the performance everywhere else.
I feel like the trick might be to stay on the gas slightly at all times when not braking in a straight line to avoid the severe lift off oversteer, but it feels unnatural to me.

The snap oversteer under braking is what kills the car for me, i love it but also hate it, Eau rogue is almost impossible flat out the car just bottoms out and you lose like a second on the straight if you lift. It feels like just not predictable but also suits my smooth driving style.

Yeah crying in AMG... I'm no Rookie at all but no Alien aswell I'm mid to top Field Racer (depends on how many Aliens are competing 😂) and the AMG for me is just a Love to Hate to Love to absolutely hate to absolutely adore Relationship xD And I'm kinda bad and just too lazy to do Setup Work which is bad in the AMG ..
And the worst thing are the Dampers in this Car imo... it kinda goes nicely over Curbs and Bumps but on the other Hand it doesn't at all ... and I hate it .. the feeling above first Chicane in Zolder for example is just absolutely horrible(BUT only after Update 1.8 I think it was.. before it was fine).. you need to completely change the Cars Setup to somewhat survive the Chicane ...
I heard from a lot of Friends that I need to change the Car because the AMG sucks..
But I dont want to 😅
That massive V8 Power, Torque and Sound is just too good.. and when it actually drives nicely it's just an awesome Car to drive for me.
But i still say and a lot of People will disagree like always.. something is wrong overall in the Game with the Physics and /or Setups. The Ground Collision and the Curb Behavior are just a bad Joke sometimes and this just isn't right ..
Or the Lexus I drove it in the 24h Race at Spa with you and its just Bottoming out through Eau Rouge all the Time. In Practice it was like okay'ish and just like every 8 Laps or so. In the Actual Race it was almost every Lap and worse than in Practice. In Practice I was Flat through Eau Rouge ez, in the Race I had no Confidence in the Car whatsoever. And they said and did a few Updates to the so called "random Bumps" which are clearly not fixed and still there. And well the Car was even quite high in terms of Ride Height so it was just weird...

I would put Porche No.1, very hard to drive as a rookie.
    Honda, also difficult.
Lexus, easy to drive but slow. Still a good rookie car tho. It won't destroy your car control confidence like the Porche.

Somehow I was expecting Jardier to put the Aston Martin V8 on number 1. Yes I know, it's also on 1st place in his top 5 best rookie cars. But the reason I would say it's also the worst, is because it's a trap car. It's safety comes at a price I feel. For a rookie like myself the slow acceleration of the Aston means it's hard to setup an attack. Even having a perfect exit out of a corner, 9 times out of 10 the opponent just pulls away so quickly that it's hard to get that slipstream and overspeed to attempt an overtake in the next breaking zone. But, good car to actually finish races with for me at the moment. :)

Aston is super simple to set up. Max wing, max rake, get on throttle way faster than feels comfortable. Car turns in really well with max rake/wing and allows you to actually nail the throttle faster and make use of the additional downforce

    • @femkeligtvoet8896
      @femkeligtvoet8896 8 месяцев назад +1

@@LITTLEBRAT775081 Very briefly, the lower the car the more downforce is generated by the ground effect. Then there is rake, which is the difference in ride height between rear and the front. The higher the rear is compared to the front, the more rake. This moves the aero balance towards the front, resulting in a car that turns more easily.
Normally, you'd like the car as low to the ground as possible, especially the front. Unless the car starts bottoming out too heavy. Rear ride height can be adjusted to balance the car. Lower rear moves the balance towards understeer, higher rear height moves the balance towards oversteer.

Rookie here, too dumb to make a good setup and too slow to be in a league or top splits but appart from the Lexus, specially the top 3, i vouche for them, i guess the one i would change in the list, handling wise, would be the Lexus and put the old R8 haha, that thing feels like a death trap to me, dunno why, then again i am bad at setups so maybe that´s why. Quite enjoy these vids Jards, keep them coming from time to time.

I understand that this is more focused on the more modern and competitive cars, but I'll give a honourable mention to the 650s and V12 Vantage for being extremely hard to set up for any pace whilst being BoP'd to hell and back on most tracks too.
For me, being able to have such a mixed field of older and newer cars (even if the newer ones are more popular for their safety) is one of my loves in GT3 racing, and I'm sure I and some others have been cruelly tempted to take the very pretty but very slow older cars to competitive events only to be struggling at the back.

I definitely agree on the Porsche though. I have been driving this car since i've started playing ACC a year ago, the first months were horrible on ACC, it takes a lot of time to master this car and what you said about setting the car up very aggressive to drive a good lap is exactly right. However if you learn to master this car (although it takes a lot of time) it is very very satisfying if you actually win races and set very good lap times, i love the aggressiveness of this car, its just something the other cars don't have in ACC in my opinion and that's what i absolutely love about the Porsche. It drives a bit like an old school car.

I use the AMG. I picked it because it has the simplest engine mode layout--just 3 options. With only having 3 selections, i can change engine modes quickly on the fly. This has especially helped me at Mt. Panorama, because i can throw it into 1 on the front straight, 2 up the mountain, 3 down the mountain, and back to one down the back straight, back to 2 coming through the chase. Using this method gained me nearly a second on my lap time, and kept my average fuel usage very close to using just 2 throughout the lap. Maybe used half a tenth of a liter more per lap. Worth it. I have a hard time keeping up with the cars that have many more engine modes, and can't change them quickly enough on the fly without it being a distraction.

I started with the NSX on the peak of it's garbageness. The car was slow, twitchy and overall not a very noob friendly package. Because of the turbo lag, if you started to accelerate too early, you were risking a spin, but if you were too late, you were stuck waiting for power..
But I stuck with the car and I think that now I'm relatively competent at racing it.

Your treatment of the lambo is criminal. The lambo handles like a god damn goddess. Its full of life, and I am a few tenths faster in this car compared to say the audi evo I or II. The lambo will forever be my safe place in GT3 racing. Unfortunately Jardier, I can no longer support someone who thinks so lowly of my baby. Its been a fun ride, goodbye
Jokes aside, was interesting to see how your list compares to my list. I also think its important for rookies to know that their skill will vary so much in the beginning, that choosing a car that isn't super fast really doesn't matter as much as they might feel it matters (unless its like AMR V12 or Jag). You can always make up for that slightly lower pace from the car with improving your skills. But once you're in a more competitive field of drivers, then you'll want to think about your car choice more closely. Great video Jardier, look forward to the next!

Another comment tho, i think the worst car even in the game is the AUDI GT3. For the simple fact that this car in real life was made to be AWD and for gt3 it has to be changed to RWD. And this crippled a perfect street project and turned it into a pig with wheels on the sim. Crazy enough, even tho now its RWD, it still felt to me, it conserves some AWD characteristics that makes the car horrible to drive. It pretty much has a tendency of sliding both rear and front ends AT THE SAME TIME just like an AWD would, except without all the fancy tech the street car has, making it really hard to trail brake of abuse a bit of powersliding.

Nice list quite agree. Personally i found it funny you put my favourite car at the top. But i agree on the points, but it is a Lambo, it sounds great and looks fast even standing still.
But it really is a pig to drive, i feel it is the most trailbrake demanding car or she just will refuse to turn, and don't brake too hard or the ABS goes nuts.
I tried other cars a lot, and i am a bit faster in the Ferrari, but comming back to the Lambo is like putting on old pants, they aren't the best but i just feel in a good mood in it.

I don't know why but I'm out my comfort zone in rear engine cars, Unpredictable I guess, Yeah front engine cars are always easier to drive, At least its like that with me.....
For me the Maclaren is probably the hardest car to race, Purely coz of bumps lol....
Bentley is probably the easiest car to learn in, Then jump in the Mercedes.....
ACC needs the Nordshliefe and Le-mans before more cars if you ask me, ACC would be at the top spot for sure if it had Nordshliefe and Le-mans, I would actually pay a few qiud for Nordshliefe on ACC, I find myself going to AC Purely for the Nordshliefe, My little channel will show you that, I am eager to get a record lap time, I'm pretty fast now tho, I will get faster too.....
Will be in the PC world of sim racing in a month or two, Looking forward to trying iracing, And ACC on the PC, Find out if the PC version of ACC is better than console version of ACC......
I want to start streaming aswell, Suffering with mental health problems, I want to see if streaming can help my mental illness, As Sim Racing helps with anxiety I suffer with, Helps the restless legs I gets from the anxiety, Also Sim Racing is great mental exercise....
It's great when you spend a week chasing a faster lap time an get it, Achievement buzz an that...
But yeah sim racing can help with mental illness, Just got to stick with it everyday.....
Still tho top little video coz it is good advice for beginners that's for sure......

The Porsche can be set up in such a way that it handles quite similarly to other cars. It's mostly down to setting the rear extemely soft to maximize exit grip, running very high rebound and very low bump damping, fairly low bumpstop ranges, and playing with the preload, aero, and other values to make the car feel the way you want it (and doing the setup with very low fuel so you don't lose control once it burns off and shifts the balance toward oversteer). Although this is all probably beyond the understanding of a true beginner. Being able to smoothly left-foot brake and transition from brake to throttle helps a ton, too.

To me it’s undriveable to the point that, youtubers advise to start with the carrer mode first, and i CAN NOT pass through the first race… First race of the game, can’t pass it, because the lambo is so shitty that i can’t do two laps in a row without getting somehow out of the circuit, because it’s so heavy and the brakes are so full of shit. I’ve tried the same map, BY NIGHT, with the ferrari 488Evo, and i got no problem, beating my own score by one second every lap until i reached my max performance… I really want to do the career but i can’t do it 😭😭

I wish the Mercedes was better because I love it in real life racing but in the game it's too slow and it doesn't sound nasty enough. I don't like the McLaren 720. To me it's sluggish.
