What works best for you guys right now? Going OTR or regional? I didn’t explain much about the topic, I really just want to get feedback on what has been working best for some during the current challenges with the market right now.
Tim, where you out of? How can I hit you up?
@@steveco6891He out of Houston
Try and stay regional create a route the more you pass by the same building s same roads same views which will benefit multiple ways , you’ll know we’re the best restaurants , truck stops at, know where you get hood phone connection, no what places to avoid, and gives you action at finding common ground with the shippers in the area cause you guys share the same familiarity. 600 miles east west north south your home being in the middle you’ll end up being able to spend your 10 jr rest period at home with out losing time and money aswell
I'm got a 2022 3500 Ram and I have the same problem between 50-55(3&4 gears) mph. Having the exact issue. I replaced the egr cooler at 170k miles.I noticed it at about 178k. I'm at 200k now. I
My mechanic works at the Ram dealership. He did all my transmission flush and rear end maintenance. He said just pay attention to it and hopefully we can decipher if it is the rear end or tranny before puts me.down with a load. Great content bro! I'll make sure to keep in touch with feedback as well.
PD Diesel Power ....that's my boss he owns a hotshot company and is a major Dodge Ram diesel guy he just went through 8 3500s for similar problems I highly recommend you check out his videos he is a 6.7 master and knows these trucks inside and out I drive one of his 2019 3500s as a hotshot driver and love this truck ..watch some of his vids and you will see what he's gone through with his trucks it may help you diagnose your issues ....I really enjoy your videos keep em coming .
Also I went from OTR to regional I run the pacific northwest areas
Damn I been struggling so much. 😢but I’m keep grinding find something that works for me. Good luck out there bro. You inspired me to start hotshoting bro.
21:36 if you to go delete, you would be breaking the law very few states, even kind of allow it I mean, if you’re jumping from state to state doing deliveries that’s not a good idea on your manual it should tell you within how many miles you are supposed to maintenance you’re EGR you should carry a scanner with you because it even tells you what you’re damaging if you’re not performing proper maintenance on your EGR system because if you don’t maintenance your EGR, you’re opening more doors of problems to your truck
Change both filter in the transmission and put dealer oil we can can do it for you we are local here in Houston Texas been in business for over 30 years and we fix a lot of this trucks.
How do I get in contact with you?
I believe the transmission in that truck is supposed to be serviced every 30,000 miles. Bring back the hotshot vlogs😎
I went from OTR to southeast regional and last few months I’ve been doing short hauls locally and home every night. The gross is less but so is the cost. I still venture out sometimes but never more than 3-400 miles from home.
Yup but makes the work day much more comfortable aswell you know where the most convenient places to fuel up at are at you get familiar with the views , buildings all that break downs won’t be as nerve racking since your close to home or on familiar areas, eventually find yourself loading across the street from where you unloaded last week and get familiar with the shippers in the area or forklift drivers atleast I suggest creating g a route to build relationships close to home
A good mix of vlogs is good. Always liked all your videos since your beginning. Thanks for all the good info and content. Hopefully I can get the start up money saved faster than what I am now, can’t wait to get started. My mom passed in feb, so the expenses wiped my savings, so I started over saving for that start up. Be safe out there.
God bless ❤ you and your wifey team work 💪
Appreciate that!
I’ve been running regional. Occasionally run to Florida and surrounding states to Texas. I’m just tired of sleeping at truck stops. But for real on them getting all that info lol same with port loads. So many check in points and also check outs pita… I watch any content you guys put out so it doesn’t deter me what you want to share 💪But I would’ve place the loads to disperse the weight so that the trailer doesn’t buck too much. You did great with that load placement
Could be the module on top of your particulate filter! Its a recall on my unit.. Check that out!! Ken!! Oh!!
Most definitely will get that checked out brother! Thanks for the advice Ken!
Masterpiece Vlog 💯
Appreciate it bro! I been slacking 💯
Like always brotha great video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Much love bro I appreciate you 🙏🏽💪🏽🫡💯
One more thing is I've picked up from them several times and love the service and on time payments from them from that company.Try your best to get them as a customer it is worth it since we both are from Houston area.
Which place are you referring to?
I think so! Heaviest over trailer axles. Lessor heaviest in the center and the lightest at the nose! How was the ride? 👍🏾Ken! Oh! !!
You are right Ken! The ride was perfect 🙏🏽
21:18 waiting that you didn’t service your EGR system regularly bro that’s like one of the main things you need to worry about
Return of the Macc!! Man how I missed these hotshot load vlogs. Glad you’re doing well. If you have the time, we would all love…well, I personally would love to see this content back. I know it won’t be as frequent like before but you gotta feed us bro cuz we’re hungry 😂 anyways keep truckin , hustlin and bustlin 🫡 see you in the next💪🏼
Phil!!!! Man I appreciate that love and support brotha! Imma definitely do my best to bring this content back bro. It’s what built the channel fr 💯 But glad you enjoyed man! Hope you out there killing it bro! We gotta catch up 💯🫡
@@HotshotMacc whenever I’m in the Houston area we can go grab a bite to eat and chop it up. I’ll hyu before hand and see where you may be at and go from there. Looking forward to the next episode. Take care bro bro!
switch to Amsoil transmission, get transmission filter change when you change to Amsoil & oil you will be surprised
Gonna have to look into that
Respect boss man was wondering what insurance you guys have and also what do I need to insure to start hotshot non-CDL. Was curious do I need to have insurance on truck and trailer and what do I need on both or either one? Respect king
If you use your tow/haul mode and engine brake and cruise control alot. That's the transmission and rear end getting ready to go out. Hopefully that's not the case and its something simple. But do have it looked at. I know from experience and had to get a new truck cause of it.
I do use all 3 just not the cruise control all the time but it gets used for sure. But that’s good to know man! I for sure hope thats not the case man but we will find out soon! Appreciate the feedback 🙏🏽🫡💯
I’ve been staying regional running containers out of Houston going to Dallas, Austin or Louisiana making 550 to 1200 a day but this heat has been hard my truck, blew my hydraulic line for my clutch on 20 going towards Abilene on Monday 🤦🏻♂️
How do you get into the containers? I've been interested in looking at that
Great video bro just now seeing it nice small load you have there i hope you have the truck seen about hopefully nothing major with it i hope you and the wifey enjoy your holiday Monday and be safe out there 👍✊
Thanks bro!! Should have the truck checked out soon enough!! Hope you had a good holiday man!! Appreciate you!
@@HotshotMacc your very welcome bro that's cool I'm I hope your holiday was good and mines was okay enjoyed time off work 😎
I'm seeing better per mile rates regionally around Seattle and down to Portland. Seems like anything over about 700 miles is
We are running a 26 box with lift gate LA to Washington back and forth we live close to the Oregon border in California we have only done a few runs anout to go full time but it has been good so far we have thought about maybe as going as far east as Texas 🤔
I used to twist the strap. But dot made me change them, said it was unsafe 😂
I guess it could be..
But that's alaska though.
Distribution looks good.
I sure wish I could get into hotshot. I'm so tired of driving the big trucks after so many years. Keep the shiny side up
Appreciate that bro! They’ve never told me anything about it but I have heard some situations where they brought it up. It can reduce the strap’s capacity by half but that’s why I always make sure to over secure. But it’s recommended even by manufacturers bc it reduces that flapping that can damage the strap or cargo. Thanks for the feedback on the distribution, I like to get advice from the ones that have been doing this for a long time and have the knowledge. And I feel you on that man, change is good and trucking can definitely get tiring! When that time is right go for it and make it happen brother! Stay safe out there 🫡💯
Regional seems convenient. But too many delays loading- unloading vs long haul . Im not sure. it’s a great topic to discuss. Great job on the videos. You inspire lots of people.
Man that’s a great point! You definitely have to consider the time and extra work involved. It’s definitely gonna be different for everyone but I might touch on the topic a bit more. Thanks for the feedback and the support brotha! 🫡💯
Fuel filters both
Always dropping the best quality content Tim thank you for taking your time and making these videos…. You and the wife are the best team ever … Next time you in Florida drive down home to fr.lauderdale lol 😂… hopefully you get the truck issue taken care of and out the way … Appreciate you god blessed 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🐐🐐🐐🐐🫡🫡🫡
My brotha I appreciate you man!! I’m trying to get back to it while running the business so appreciate you appreciating bro 💯🫡 I gotta get to Ft. Lauderdale again soon to see families so you know we gotta get together when that happens. Hoping for the best with the truck too bro 🙏🏽🫡💯
Hi, how do you find spots to park your truck overnight? I see you park at big parking lot stores at times? Or only truck stops?
I use the “Trucker Path” app to find the truck stop locations. Also use Google maps and zoom in to look at parking lots.
99k miles on my 22 ram 5500 and 0 issues so far. (Knock on wood)
Transmission needs to be serviced. Do not flush the transmission. Just drain the old fluid and replace filter. There is no such thing as lifetime transmission fluids.
Thanks for the advice bro!
Torque converter or pinion in rear end I think I have this issues on my truck
Ok thanks for sharing! Did you already get it looked at? Or how long have you been running with the issue?
@@HotshotMacc I was having this problem 4-5 months ago lack off power when towed and shuttering truck my dealer changed both this parts and goes away truck running like dream. And by the way you can tune your truck without deleting it will help with lots off things like shifting + power and mpg . Here’s the shop calibrated power in Woodstock Illinois. Check their videos.
Macc , would you suggest starting hot shot locally would be a good idea?
Texas
Enclosed car hauling is all over the place. Sometimes you get a great day trip but that never lasts. I’m sure that’s pretty typical of most hot shotting though?
Sounds like a transmission clutch slippin and chattering
Hopefully that’s nothing to major to het fixed if that’s the case! Thanks for sharing!
Transmission going out
😬😬🙏🏽🙏🏽
I want a job bro
T x
I doubt it’s your transmission honestly.
I feel the same way, I’m definitely hoping it’s not lol
Get it deleted. EGR will destroy your truck in the long run. All i drive are dodge 3500 and do alot heavy hauling. Get it deleted!!!
Do you recommend just a egr delete?
@MrYodeepYD it would help for sures. I last truck I didn't delete, the motor seized up and that was a 19 model
@laneellsworth805 what delete have u done or plan on doing on your new truck?
@MrYodeepYD egr delete, straight pipe, and I forgot what tuner I used. The most recent truck I bought, I did a pretty basic delete because it's my ranch truck.
Regional is better for many reasons: Less wear and tear on your equipment, less fuel, and your ass is hella closer to home. So if you compared 5-6K per week regional to OTR, the net has to be better regional.
