    I just started to look into hotshotting and I stumbled upon your older videos from 2 years ago. Out of curiosity on how you’re doing, I decided to check your newer videos. My goodness how your business has grown! Amazing! Even your personality is different. You seemed humble and nervous, now you’re so confident and you’re a pro! Congratulations!

    I respect the set up you have and you're happy with it, but did you ever look into the Roadmaster conversions that they have for trucks like yours? A crew cab with the sleeper will give you some more room for your cooler and getting dressed in the morning. 😁 Maybe when you have some down time you can look at them for giggles. Maybe your next truck. 😁 If I see you up here in Kansas or on the road, coffee's on me. Good luck!

      Appreciate the support from day 1 bro 🙏🏽🫡💯. Welcome to the hotshot lane, sounds like you are growing and that awesome man! My advice would be to work towards getting your CDL but until then build your contact list. Learn the partial game, hopefully you have a 40ft trailer. Rates aren’t so great right now so being patient is key. Negotiate every load even if it’s paying good. Go for the lightest loads paying the most money. It will be a challenge but you have to hustle and know where to put your equipment. Keep growing and stay safe out there 🫡💯

    When I was trying to avoid tint for DOT I used to take and cutout an 8" drop in visor for the front windows. Like the semi's have but instead of aluminum they're just cut up pieces of the foil we used as window shades. Keeps a lot of the sun out and can be taken out at any time. I loved them but now that I'm out I run 5% stacked tint. Tint laws are bs. I love how much it regulates the inside temperature of the truck.

      Hey brother! Thanks man! When I load and unload I go “on duty” and in the notes type “load or unload”. You load an unload time will only count against your drive time if you’ve used the 3hr difference between your 14hr shift and your drive time. Hope that helps bro 🫡💯

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks bro, with the trailer having the deck over the neck, empty I get about 9mpg. I did one container but it wasn’t a normal container. It was a modified container that was about 12ft high. Went about 150 miles with it and got about 7mpg with it weighing 15k lbs. I have the 4:44 gears so it did pretty well. I believe some 3500s see similar fuel mileage with the 3:73 gears and some less with the 4.10 gears.

    Does that hotshot CM bed automatically make your truck classified as a tractor? I kept getting hemmed up running a 40 foot with a pickup bed. I was exceeding 65 foot in total length.
    My setup was classified as truck trailer not a tractor trailer..they told me I couldnt have a truck bed becase even if its empty its considered cargo carrying on the power unit.... therefore a truck & not a tractor...... I was also instructed I needed a 5th wheel connection and not a gooseneck but I see literally everyone running a pickup bed and 40 foot or longer.... wtf.
    3 different states stopped me to warn me I was in 65 foot violation.

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  3 месяца назад +1

      Hey bro, yes my custom tractor bed allows me to register the set up as a tractor allowing me to ignore the 65ft rule. Most of the hotshot setups with a 40ft are over 65ft if you have mega ramps. If you remove the bed you can register it as a tractor and not have to worry about that 65ft nonsense. Ive been hearing a lot of ppl getting hemmed up by DOT bc of it.

      @@trevey16 all those seem really fresh if say nothing over 80k for reliability. But if your mechanically inclined you can get one with a bit more miles. $50k isn't bad for those miles and you don't really need a 5500 to do the job. Really look into the 3500 high output they can tow more than the 5500

    Bro you don't even have a sleeper like I seen in some other better hotshot setups. Took you years to buy a good a/c. How you gonna say ultimate when 2 people can't sleep comfortably in that truck.
    Highly doubt is a 150k setup when truck is a tradesmen lol and is only around 70k.

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  8 месяцев назад +4

      Lol. You must have watched the video and not listen but I get it, everyone’s attention span varies. I clearly stayed “MY”. I’m not comparing my setup to anyone else with a sleeper or what they got. And this isn’t a semi nor does it have a sleeper so yeah it’s not going to be as comfortable for 2. That’s obvious. Not sure why it matters to you when I got an ac unit 🤣 Another irrelevant statement hence the reason I’ve now stated this is my ultimate setup. One thing your right about is, it is a tradesman that was 70k but what you aren’t aware of is the taxes, extended warranties and other expenses like the custom bed build on the chassis. So before you go around on RUclips with assumptions and unnecessary comments, get your facts straight and leave the hate in your truck or whatever it is your doing. 😎

      Been great for us with having the different options on the trailer. Allows us to negotiate better and take other loads that a basic hotshot cannot take. Of course rates are messed up so we do feel the effect but we’ve been able to sustain with the boards and our contacts.
