I just made the connection that the screw in the trigger that would adjust pretravel is for use with the Cajun Gun Works reach reduction kit. I could not have it installed or the double action would not reset. I did not install the reach reduction kit. Had I installed that kit, it would have moved the reset of the double action back (towards the rear) about 5mm. Then that pretravel adjustment screw could be installed and adjusted to accommodate this.
Good to know. I don’t have a CZ yet. Like what you have there. Wish I could recommend a holster. Saw a good one the other day online. Had same light and another point of retention. Black something. It’s one that keeps coming up in articles ect. a bunch of special forces type guys like it & I think it was on a sig forum. Had the hump/cam thing built into the muzzle end to rotate it in some..top shelf. Lots of fine tuning & adjusting possibilities. Mono block comes on it. I might try one. Saved your video for future reference. The optic, ever seen/ heard /know anything about putting the irons in front of the optic? I don’t have any of those either. A couple more things but late & that is enough for now. Hope you can find the holster. Black ops tactical.?? I’ll check later & see if I made a note. Take it easy.
confused, I was told by tier one they did not make a holster for my omega PO1, I wonder if it was because I do not have a light on it? You would think they would have mentioned that! I've heard nothing but excellent reports on their holster
@@jerrymayo4571 I am 99% sure any holster that fits the P-01 will fit the P-01 omega. They are the same gun with the same external profile and dimensions (dustcover, rail, trigger guard, slide, etc). The only difference is the trigger system and internals. Externally, the only difference is the trigger shoe and the safety/decocker. Possibly the side of the holster that goes against your body (sweat guard side) would fit differently around the decocker/safety lever of the omega. I just looked at my Tier1 holster and it has a larger relief area around the decocker lever so I am sure that particular one (axis slim model) would work. Possibly you were talking to a representative at Tier1 that didn't know the details of the CZ pistols. Hope this helps!
Ive owned bought traded and sold a ton of guns over the years, this has always been my go to for homedefense and concealed carry. Its hard to top the accuracy and reliability from this gun
Had an P-01 Omega got the DA down to 6# & SA down to 3.5# - sold it because of the long reset in the Omega’s to get a regular P-01 that has a shorter reset.
The conventional trigger systems are nicer. I have Omegas with Cajun gun works short reset kits and their triggers with overtravel screws - makes a big difference. Still not as good as the conventional system though.
I have to add that disassembling and reassembly of the sear cage was the worst 20 experiences of my life. I have lots of tools and decent experience, but that was pure torture.
Interesting. I have an SP-01, a PCR and a P01 and i disassembled and reassembled all three sear cages multiple times, got easier every time, and i rather enjoyed it. It was challenging yes, but nothing to cry about. Did you by any chance vote for biden?
Definitely does get easier every time, but always fills me with dread. Someone once told me that they were a “Glock Armorer.” I thought about the CZ sear cage🤔 and just smiled.
Sent my P01 Omega off to CGW for their full meal deal, added VZ grips and TruGlo TFX Pro sights. What a fantastic pistol! Congrats on yours. I have a CGW P07 as well and love them both!
I carried a very limited import called the P-02, it was the first iteration of the omega trigger before they changed the name to p01 omega. I loved that gun. You definitely set this one up well. And the DIY lapping was easily one of the best return on on investments made with the time i had it. Really made it feel like a 2000 dollar gun. Thank you for sharing that, as its often overlooked since its not something people sell.
Wish I'd seen this comment earlier. I recently bought a P-01 and went with a Vedder holster, which I can't have my WML on. I'll probably just end up buying another holster from Holster Co.
I have similar mods installed in my 75 compact with the full dust cover. These guns are very underrated, I pop off steel plates at 100 yards with mine. I have thousands of rounds through mine, zero issues. I run the same exact light, been using a Garrett Industries silent thunder IWB for the past 3 years, top notch holsters.
You got a new subscriber..Wow,, finally found a great CZ RUclips channel. Wish I could do what you did , but I’m not “ mechanically inclined” I have 2 , CZ 75 P-O1’s , and a CZ 75 D PCR. Really enjoy your channel. I may be having some questions for you sometime.keep up the good work 👍
Im glad your video popped up on my feed. It was my first pistol and i did trigger work myself. I wasnt sure if it was just me but i had to put the stock reduce spring back on, because of the light weight spring, it couldnt reset the trigger properly. And also i removed the set screw for the overtravell as well, for same reason, it wasnt able to reset. As i mentioned, it was my first time doin the work. I was so nervous firing that first round, but that was about 800 rounds ago, never had any hiccup even before any upgrade. Thank you for the confirmation. And yes, the sear spring work is a pain. Especially for a first timer like me.
Might be 9 months late to this comment but you can't install the over travel screw unless u get the pro package or seperately buy the reach reduction kit which reduces the double action reset point of the trigger while in full double action (not half cocked). I am also right there with you ans can't stand the reduced Power Trigger Return Spring. I can not stand the lazy reset it gives
@@chaysehiser never too late. always appreciative. its been working well thus far. im still not fully satisfied with upgrade, because i havent been able to mag dump to really see if it holds up well. until im able to mag dump atleast 50 rounds, i wont be able to say 100% that theres no hiccup after the trigger work. thanks again for your time.
@pvasicc209 what all did u end up upgrading on it? I may be able to give some advice. And on that note in the first comment I meant the pre travel screw lol u can't have the pre travel screw in for your double action reset unless you have the reach reduction kit. You can have the over travel screw in for your single action reset without any other upgrades
@@chaysehiser come to think of it, of all the springs i bought from MCarbo, i replaced the sear spring and hammer spring, with SS guide rod. I had to put CZ oem trigger return spring back on, MCarbos was too soft.
I just ordered my first CZ pistol and I’m getting the P01. I’m still waiting on it, it’s been almost 2 weeks now. Can’t wait. I heard the sear cages are fun 😂 thanks for the detailed video👍
Awesome first CZ pistol. Its the most difficult of the CZ hammer fired pistols to work on but not horrible. Absolutely get a slave pin for reassembly if you need to take it apart. This is the one I ordered with all my other CGW parts: cajungunworks.com/product/s-pin/
Once you get your hands on it you will not regret it. I LOVE mine! So much so I went ahead and bought its polymer framed counterpart, the P07. Love it as well. The only thing I changed from stock is I put a Meprolight Bullseye rear sight on them both 😊
@@donovanlindaman421 awesome 👊🏼 I also bought the P-07 and sent it to JagerWerks. Just got it back a couple weeks ago. Had the slide milled for a SRO, added top serrations, top window in sniper grey. It came out awesome.
Well done! I just Cajunized my new P-01 and changed back to the OEM trigger return spring for the same reason, but did use the 11.5# hammer spring as it's not a CCW. Also shortened my CGW trigger ~1/8" making it even more comfortable for my trigger finger. After realizing and confirming with a CGW Gunsmith (Daniel, I think?) who verified safe operation and called me back to thank me as he didn't know about the following either. I did install the pre-travel set screw as doing so renders the trigger inoperable (with the hammer fully down). It adds an additional pre-cock position... 1/8" cocked is no pre-travel as it's directly touching the wall, 1/4" cocked position gives ~3/16" of pre-travel. CGW let me Cajunize my recent RAMI for free as a thanks! Did my P-07 awhile ago.
Great video, I do own a CZ-75 P01 Omega, a CZ-75 Compact, and a CZ-75BD. Even though I am not a gunsmith as you are, I was not comfortable with these guns' recoils, especially with the CZ-75 P-01 Omega due to its lighter aluminum frame. I was able to correct this recoil issue on all three guns by using the Greek-made DPM three-spring recoil reduction assemblies, which corrected this issue completely. All three feel totally different now. I just wanted to share this with you and your audience. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing your experience! I have tried the DPM system in my compensated Sig P320 and didn't notice a difference - likely due to the flex of the polymer frame. These pistols are snappy with the aluminum frame that is for sure.
Great description.. have the P01 CGW Pro and once I get the optics cut.. it will crush the Shadow 2 compact.. ;D well not crush since it's virtually the same gun.. just $400-800 cheaper depending on if you get gouged by the baddies
I love my P-01! I had czcustom do the work on it with their trigger job and hybrid flat trigger with comp hammer and it’s beautiful! CZcustom is local to me so I wanted to support locally but I think I’m going to have Cajun Gun Works do my my Shadow 2 and I might do a combo of CGW and CZCustom on my SP-01 myself. I also have a QVO IWB holster for my P-01 since it’s my daily and it’s awesome, you have to order the P-07 with TLR 7a option but it fits great, no issues.
It is rare for me to subscribe to a new channel, but browsing your vids I noticed our tastes are quite similar: DA/SA pistols and revolvers. I am more familiar with the Beretta 92 platform than any CZ and SIG pistols, but I recently picked up a Cajunized CZ SP-01, CZ 75 D PCR, and SIG P226 in .40 S&W. Loving the Cajunized SP-01 Tactical, and the PCR is fine, but I was already thinking of upgrading/tuning it. Thanks for the detailed video. And I'd go with an ANR holster.
Its a handy thing when the slide and frame have coatings that add thickness - like Cerakote, or the "Polycoat" CZ uses. Speeds up the break in process and maker her slick!
Yeah I was starting to think my Cerakote guns just will have to be gritty, NOT ANYMORE!!!! Haha great video dude I’m going to give all of these things a shot
One of the better videos for working on CZ’s…..I’ve installed a few dozen upgrade kits from CGW and would agree with everything you did/said…only point I differ on is I’m not a fan of the Omega system at all…otherwise straight forward and to the point, well done!
great video.. almost makes me think I can do this myself.. really like the info. would be cool to see you polish up everything.. what you used to polish the sear.. etc.
Copying a comment I posted on an older video: Brownells has a great selection of gunsmithing tools. I got my fine ceramic stone through them. The others I bough on amazon. It's important to have a higher quality stone for finishing, the stones leading up to that one can be cheaper. I swapped the cajun hammer out for cz customs competition hammer. It was dangerously light on my p-01. With the reduced power firing block spring it was barely hitting 2 lbs with no defined wall what so ever. You could breath on it and it would go off. Even with the heavy block spring it was barely hitting 3 and even then it had no wall, just spring resistance then it would break. The cz comp hammer reduces the distance just slightly to make the gap between the hammer and the slide at half cock seamless at the angle which looks a million times better cosmetically and gave it a much needed defined wall.
This is the best gun you can get for carry, the king with Cajun trigger job, forget about glock, staccato m&p. I have one and is the only gun that never had a single malfunction.
Appreciate the recommendation. I have already purchased a Tier1 concealed axis slim. There is an update video on my channel regarding the holster choice and also the optic I had it milled for. Thanks for watching and commenting!
ANR kydex......they make a holster with your(and mine) pistol set up. If you prefer leather Falco makes a good one for this combo.....just my 2 cents. I have had a couple ANR holsters and they are top notch in my book. Their quick ship is only like a 7-10 day shipping wait so pretty quick for a purpose built rig IMHO. Lots of camo/colors too of your into that but black is the fastest I'm pretty sure. Hope that helped.....I always had good luck with them.
Sick! I bet you'll enjoy it. I have a 92X with LTT internals and this is close but not quite as good. However, I have the pistols set up a little different (concealed carry on the P-01 and range use only on the 92x). With CGW internals set up a different way it would be right there with my 92.
I prefer the Omega trigger decocker placement over the standard CZ. Both have similar pivot point but, the arm on the Omega is forward of the pivot right where my thumb 'pad' is. The standard hits my thumb below the knuckle so it's hard for me to use. Omega is the better ergonomics for me.
I prefer the Omega deckocker lever and position as well. I wanted to prioritize trigger quality and the conventional trigger system results in a better trigger pull (in my opinion). I will add that after polishing the hammer and sear interface, the deckocker action is much smoother, lighter, and easier. Helps with the odd location and profile of the lever.
Thanks for a great video! I recently purchased my P-01 for CCW and definitely replacing the stock trigger, grips, and sights. Debating while I’m in there to just buy the pro-package and use heavier springs (stock DA/SA is 11 and 5.2 lbs). Originally planned on the pro-package for my SP-01, but can’t decide which CZ I want to invest in
@@GeezerHawk15 I have heard since CZ bought Colt they have made major changes - Have gotten rid of many experienced employees on the CZ side, put Colt people in leadership positions and are focused on COLTS now, ignoring CZ guns and dropping most weapons that were not TOP SELLERS! This sounded like the opposite "rule of thumb" when one company buys out another, usually it is the seller's people who go, but the more I hear of people, including myself, having trouble locating the CZ line of guns, the more I think there is something to it. WHAT A STRANGE WORLD WE LIVE IN!!!!!! CZ has always had a stellar reputation and makes quality arms, police, military, etc. I was sold on them from the very start of my first purchase
Thanks! Yep, I always go into my modification knowing what the intended use of the gun is. This one turned out great! I've got 500 or so more rounds thru it of varying ammo since this video and it's been 100% reliable. Currently the slide is at CGW getting milled for a Holosun EPS Carry. I also have the IWB holster now so a follow up video is on the way. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The best holster iwb I can find for it is Hidden hybrid holster and even though it’s not listed they accommodate the TLR 7A and as of 4 days ago the TLR 7 sub
Thanks for the video and detailed information. What do you think of a ported barrel and slide for the P01 or 75B? I noticed you had very little muzzle flip with your grip and control.
I dont have any experience with porting. But lots of experience with compensators. They can reduce muzzle flip for sure. I dont think ports or comps are a necessary upgrade but they can help. If you want to squeeze the most performance out of your pistol. Ports are cool because you dont need to add a threaded barrel or add length to the muzzle. But ports reduce the velocity of the bullet. It's all tradeoffs. The P01 is a little snappy due to the light aluminum frame. I am actually considering porting a few barrels myself (I have access to a mill and machining experience) and the P01 is on the list. So maybe stay tuned for a video on porting.
Thank you for the video. I’m happy with the trigger on my CZ75 SP01, what I’m not happy with is the fact that to rack it it’s very heavy, any tip for making it easier to rack it?
Since the CZ slides are internal to the frame rails, there is just less slide there to grab on to which makes it harder. Before pulling the slide back you can manually cock the hammer, that way you're not fighting the main spring as well. Other than that, recoil spring changes could help but you want to be careful with that based on what type of ammo you're generally shooting. The gun from the factory is likely a little oversprung because they want it to be safe for all ammo types, and I would recommend keeping it that way unless you've made changes to the gun that necessitate recoil spring changes like adding or removing significant weight from the slide, or adding a compensator or barrel porting.
I have old videos, many that I do trigger work in, which may give you an idea. I have two new videos in the works currently but I will consider it after that. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I've had the standard size CZ 75 for over twenty five years. One of the best guns I've ever owned. Didn't do any extra work to it. Haven't had any problems with it at all and it's an accurate firearm. I'm considering getting this model. Is it fine out of the box, or is it necessary to make all these upgrades for it to function properly? That's something that would make me reconsider buying it.
I have owned quite a few CZ75 variants. They all functioned "properly" without needing additional parts. I have heard so many stories about firing pin retaining pins being a problem, but so many other things saying that it is only a problem if you dry fire without proper protection measures.....I just don't know about all that anymore 🤷♂️. I would say if you are absolutely dead set on a compact option for carry purposes, this is a good option.....as well as the P07, or if you have the money, the shadow 2 compact is a thing now.
I plan on getting this for my first CCW but my plan was just stainless guide rod and steel firing pin roll pin as I heard the factory ones wear out fast? What’s ur opinion on this
I have heard of the firing pin issue with the P-07/P-09. Not so much with the P-01, but I assume its the same pin/material. Additionally, I have only heard of that issue on the P-07/P-09 with tons of dry fire. However if it is of concern to you Cajun GW sells the pin separately for $5. I ordered the standard package for this pistol and that included the firing pin roll pin so I have it installed on my gun.
@@EngineersArmoryAlright,I’ve seen a couple of debates on whether or not the po1 roll pin is meant to degrade and be replaced often or if putting the solid steel roll pin could damage other components. So I wasn’t sure if replacing it was a good idea or not but thanks for the info
@@captain603 Yeah, no problem. The only thing it would damage is the cut out area on the firing pin if anything. I think its really only a concern with lots of dry fire. To my knowledge with a round in the chamber (or snap cap) the firing pin is brought to a stop by the action of hitting the primer. With no round in the chamber, the firing pin will be brought to a stop by the roll pin.
@@captain603 Yeah something like that. Throw a snap cap in it. Dry fire is important to practice. But from what i've seen its like thousands and thousands of reps of dry fire before it would become an issue. I don't have any first hand experience with the pin failing.
I wish CZ would start moving to include their optics ready platform on older models. I really like their plate system. There are plenty of places that will mill the slide on this, and most other CZs. I am currently on the waitlist with Cajun Gun Works. Getting it milled for a Holosun EPS is only $170.
If you w ould stone the bottom of bar below w 😊😅😊here the pin goes through & make contact with over travel screw you will be able to use the screws for adjusting
Its a light gun due to the aluminum frame. Not much heavier than a Glock 19. Similar recoil to that. A bit more snappy though due to the aluminum frame. Polymer frames slightly distort when shooting making them feel a little softer. The aluminum has no give in your hand so it feels a bit more abrupt. Its still easy to control and comfortable to shoot for me.
so would this kinda of be the budget shadow 2 compact because just did a lil research and both have da/sa and aluminum frame? always wanted a cz pistol, i adore my 457
A budget Shadow 2 Compact is not far off. In my opinion the P-01 is better for defensive purposes as it has a decocker and firing pin safety block. The trigger on the Shadow 2 compact will be better whether you keep it factory or upgrade it. And I only paid $500 for this then put about $300 in upgrades which is half of what the Shadow 2 Compact is selling for right now.
Where are you guys finding these pistols? I've been looking but I can't find them anywhere. I'd like to get my hands on one, could always order but I'd like to feel it first if you know what I mean.
Yes this is a lot of work, but this is what I do for fun. And i am aware this is deep into trigger snob territory haha. The factory trigger on this gun is pretty dang good. What I did to it reduced DA pull weight and smoothed it out. It reduces single action pull weight. It reduced creep in the single action, making the break more crisp, reduced over-travel and the reset distance. The trigger is a nicer profile now and included that overtravel adjustment.
@@EngineersArmory Makes sense to me, I'm a 1911/2011, or flat face trigger snob myself so I was curious if all that work had other benefits and it did. I appreciate the answer. I have found next to no one makes a flat face trigger shoe for this model or the Omega. Waiting for Ben Stoeger to make one like they do for my CZ shadow 2.
@@icarusflight2396 My pleasure. Thanks for watching and commenting. CGW does offer a flatter trigger than the one I bought (flip thru the pics to find it, or select it in the drop down): cajungunworks.com/product/75585-85c-old-style-trigger/
I went with a Tier1 Concealed Axis Slim. I posted a video on my holster choice shortly after this one. Check it out for more info if you're interested. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Beretta 92 compact is better. Also the hk p30 lem is better. Both are easier to work on and both have better triggers. Add a LTT trigger job in a bag to 92 and it's phenomenal. Add a gray guns short reset and flat trigger to the hk and they beat the hell out of the cz. The hk p30 is the most comfortable to carry out of all three.
Trigger feel is largely subjective. I agree with you on the Beretta. I have a 92X with the LTT trigger job in a bag and I think the trigger is way better than this one. I also have a DA/SA P30 and an HK45 LEM both with GrayGuns short reset kits, fully polished internals, reduced power main springs, and match nickel plated sear springs and in my opinion they are both slightly worse than this. Close but not quite as good.
Thanks so much for your holster recommendations! I have ordered an IWB holster with sidecar from Tier 1 Concealment. Holster and optic update video: ruclips.net/video/wuKMWosioxc/видео.html
Disagree. 3x the cost, no decocker option, no firing pin safety block. But to keep the P-01 relevant I would love to see the optics ready platform slide on it.
@dltz I bought mine new and have made no modifications. The first time I shot it, I had 10 handguns with me. So, I only shot the P01 about 30 times and with no issues. The 2nd time I shot it, I fired off about 50 rounds when the slide failed to return to Battery. This happened about every 3 or 4 rounds, so I gave up on the P01 that day ( I did not use any reloads ) I took the gun home and thoroughly cleaned it. The next time I shot with it I had the same problem but also had a new problem. The gun began to feed incorrectly and seemingly tried to double feed ammo. So now I had a slide not fully returning to Battery and a feed issue. I looked it up online and learned that there have been several reported issues of this occurring. However I have not seen a solid fix for it. One person documented sending it in for warranty work and waited several weeks to get the gun back from the manufacturer. And when he did get it back, the problem remained. So he sent it in again. But it sounds as if CZ was difficult to deal with. There are so many people who buy these guns and send them out for improvements it's impossible to tell how deep this issue is. I do know that the CZ P01 has been more or less endorsed by the U.N as it has become a U.N classified pistol. And indeed, that is impressive. However it is the 1st gun that I have ever purchased that came to me as untrustworthy. And I know from searching out issues that I am not the only one, not even close. I didn't have much luck in selling it, as I went with my friend and potential buyer to the shooting range. I explained to him the problem, and sure enough, he was able to witness the failures immediately. So recently I decided to keep it and I think I'll send it in to Cajun Gun Works and have it upgraded. But that's going to mean that I will have over $1100 in it. And I just think that for $1100, you can do better. I have spoken with other people online who have chosen not to carry the P01, but rather just use it as a range pistol. I am not ready to accept that as of yet.
@@watchingthecrazyworld7761 Thanks for sharing your experience! That is very unfortunate. I agree that the value proposition of this gun really relies on its reliability and performance for around $5-600. I would hope that your experience is not a common thing. Of course, I can only speak to the reliability of mine and its been 100% in its stock and modified configurations.
@dltz No problem. The cheapest that I have seen my exact one is around $750. So it's a real bummer to sell a gun for that much and not bother with quality control. And after that, to not even take care of the customer is very telling. After reading and seeing the examples of CZ customer care, I'm not even trying them.
@@EngineersArmoryI hear you. That’s cool. The only reason I made that comment was because the P01 is incredibly reliable from the factory. That’s the whole idea of that pistol. Aftermarket springs and trigger parts etc will make it less reliable. That’s not debatable. It is your gun. I understand you’re allowed to make your own choices about your guns. Good luck.
@@kevinmcconnell8395 it is a fantastic and reliable gun out of the box no doubt. And any modifications open the door to decreased reliability for sure. I am confident the modifications I made did not affect reliability (due to putting hundreds of rounds thru it since I have made the modifications). Always gotta prove it out!
🙄Recoil feel is relative and subjective. Relative to a full sized CZ75 or a polymer frame compact 9mm (where the polymer slightly flexes in your hand under recoil) the recoil is a little bit snappy. I have no trouble shooting this gun comfortably or in a controlled manner, and I believe the shooting footage shows that. I appreciate your concern though!
@@EngineersArmory I saw you shooting the gun in the video. I compared how much recoil you experienced to a video of me shooting my P01. Im not that great of a shooter and you had way more bounce than my stock P01. You need better recoil management if Im beating you.
@@LightofRyga I appreciate your concern but I'm doing okay. Always working on it and practicing of course. Check out my new video on this gun, I ported it and there is even less recoil haha
What a wild extrapolation from the content of this video. Also, what will be the "best" concealed carry gun will vary from person to person. This is my favorite compact pistol (subjective) and I think it will be a great concealed carry option for ME (subjective). I have made no such claims in this video. Also the Xmacro/P365 is a completely different category of pistol and not directly comparable to compacts in my opinion. This is not a comparison of best carry pistols, nor a claim that this is the best concealed carry pistol, this is simply the work I have done to a specific gun to tailor it to my personal concealed carry needs (with some input about what works well for me thrown in).
I want nothing to do with a comp for concealed carry. And many of us prefer a DA/SA gun with decocker vs any striker gun for safety reasons. The P01 is a terrific choice. Only change I’d have made is to start with the Omega version of the same pistol. Great video and new sub!
@@EngineersArmory For me, the placement/ease of use of the decocker on the Omega far outweighs the (admittedly superior) trigger quality of the non-Omega for CCW use. If I were putting together a target/range gun, I'd def go with the standard CZ trigger. My Omega CZ's, done up by CGW are far more than just "good enough" for a CCW trigger...I think they're very good to excellent. Really enjoy your content!
@@robolive123 thanks for sharing! I really enjoy when others share their experiences and preference in the comments. Just makes the video and content all the more useful for someone possibly looking to pick up one of these guns!
About the same price (I paid $500 for this), 43X is 10 rounds out of the box - 15 rounds if you buy aftermarket magazines, shit trigger, terrible ergonomics and grip angle, shit sights. However, which carry gun is right for a given person is largely preference. I also put the 43X more in the micro-compact category with the P365, Hellcat, and M&P shield Plus, etc. A more direct Glock competitor to this would be the 19 or 26. For micro-compact I carry a Hellcat, I wanted something bigger and more comfortable with a great trigger and this fit the bill perfectly for me.
@@garrypeek897 lighter, optics cut, no hammer, goes bang, accuracy is fine at close engagement distance, list goes on. I like CZ handguns but not for repetitive carry, my opinion.
@@EngineersArmory true a 19 or 26 would be more comparable. I carried a 27 for some time, switched to 43 for the slimness and capacity, plus optic cut. No issues with accuracy shooting one to the other. The size and weight with a holosun micro ultimately was more comfortable appendix carry day in and out.
Do you need to polish all of these parts that this guy was talking about? I assume just running the gun will break it in, although I’m sure polishing is best. I don’t feel skilled enough to polish things on my gun
You don't need to do anything to this gun out of the box. Its a great gun. I like tinkering on my firearms so I upgrade them. Guns will generally smooth out a bit with use. This polishing work that I have done makes it smoother than it will be once broken in and speeds up the break in process. None of what I have shown in this video is needed - It's just what I like to do with my firearms. Of course, if you don't feel comfortable doing things like this to your gun, no big deal, not everyone can. Leave it to a competent gunsmith.
100% you dont have to do ANYTHING. My PCR, (P01 minus the dust cover rail), gets better as I use it more. Sure, I could spend another 600-700 making the trigger bla bla bla, doubling the price of the gun, but I keep my defensive weapons stock. My Glock 19, stock. My CZ Shadow 2 SAO, stock. To each their own, but I believe this is why CZ guys are categorized as "Hipsters." No hate, just saying I've tried all sorts of Cajunized this and that and rather just have two of the same model. I've got a 2075 RAMI, 25 rounds through it. Stock. Safe queen. Someone will pay good money someday for it to add to their collection. I am replacing it with a Stoeger STR-9SC just because it is
I just made the connection that the screw in the trigger that would adjust pretravel is for use with the Cajun Gun Works reach reduction kit.
Hey did you ever find a good inside the waist band holster for it? One that accommodates a tlr-7?
@@wildlandcamplife6532 yep! Tier one concealed axis slim. I'll be posting a video on it soon and showing the optic cut I had on the gun.
confused, I was told by tier one they did not make a holster for my omega PO1, I wonder if it was because I do not have a light on it?

I sent my P01 to Cajun for their full action treatment. Couldn't be happier.
I've heard they do great work! They sure make amazing parts!
Did it cost a lot and how does shipping work?
Nice video. Holster Co. LLC has a large selection of IWB holsters for lights. Been running mine for over 3 years and love it
Wish I'd seen this comment earlier.

Great video, man. I’ve had a cz75B in the past. That’s a nice pistol.

Great video man!
I know this is from 5 months ago , but if you're still not settled on a holster , I highly recommend the Trex arms sidecar for a P01 with a TLR7A
Appreciate the recommendation.
I appreciate the input! I just got a tier1 concealed though. I really like it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just ordered my first p01, and cgw stuff, we shall see if it beats the Beretta 92 centurion with ltt internals. I'm skeptical but we shall see.

@dltz Thanks for the response and take. Will do. Liked and subscribed
great post, thanks
@@EngineersArmory Thank you so much for your answer. I’ll be checking the springs though. 🖖🏻
For all my CZ75 guns I use G Code IWB and OWB holsters.
Would you consider doing a tutorial on the stoning/polishing?
@@EngineersArmory gotcha so stock pin or steel not a good idea to dry fire a lot
@@captain603 Yeah something like that. Throw a snap cap in it. Dry fire is important to practice. But from what i've seen its like thousands and thousands of reps of dry fire before it would become an issue. I don't have any first hand experience with the pin failing.
The only thing is you can't get any aftermarket slides for the p01 if you wanted a milled one
I wish CZ would start moving to include their optics ready platform on older models. I really like their plate system. There are plenty of places that will mill the slide on this, and most other CZs. How is the recoil I have the shadow2 and was somewhat surprised by the recoil compared to my 2011s or even my xmacro...
That's alot of work for one pound. Does it feel tighter or better in any other way?

I run a TREX arms sidecar for my P01 and I love it!
Sold my p01 when the firing pin retaining pin/spring FROM cajun Failed. Was lucky to find the firing pin in a field of spent casings. Glock for the W.
My side feels glassy after 1000 rounds
Shadow 2 compact is the sp01 killer
Disagree. 3x the cost, no decocker option, no firing pin safety block. But to keep the P-01 relevant I would love to see the optics ready platform slide on it.
@@EngineersArmoryI agree. You don't need a decocker or firing pin block.

Harry Holster Singleton
I don’t see how hammer fired and manual safety and this kind of size still qualifies for a CCW in this day and age.
... And without a firing pin safety block *cough* Shadow 2 compact *cough*
If you're going to get a P01, you better send it in for some work. Too many have issues. Hard truth.
What issues? I have only heard of some issues with the Omega variant.
“Supple man belly”…😅😅😅😅
Your fingernails are stomach churning
My days as a hand model are numbered.
New build. Buy stop chewing your nails lol
I'm way too anxious to stop chewing my nails. My friend called me the human equivalent of a squirrel.
Only people with weird finger nails buy CZ
HAHA accurate 🤣

Worried about his belly which we cant see. Not worried about his nails which he shows off to the world.
Would be a pretty neat trick to do gunsmithing with my belly! Ugly chewed up fingers will have to do until I learn that skill.
@@EngineersArmory what I'm saying is you're hiding it from us. Show the belly.

Or just leave it alone…
Naw I like it better this way. You can leave your gun alone... because it's your gun and you get to do with it what you please...
@@EngineersArmorythat’s awesome
This is why I don't buy used guns.
This guy knows a lot about gunsmithing CZs, but not that much about recoil management. The gun is not that snappy. Get a grip bro.
1:33 Defensive use... Stupidity made in the USA...

OMG, you think this is the best conceled carry. NO COMP, max 15 round and a bunch more. Try Sig 365 x micro.
@@robolive123 Why start with the Omega version out of curiosity?
Glock 43x, cheaper, smaller, slimmer, easier to conceal. 15 rounds.
But it sucks.
I am replacing it with a Stoeger STR-9SC just because it is
Nothing wrong with saftey model vs decocker , it’s all in the training , also get rid of the balaclava ,makes you look like a goof .
Yeah safety vs decocker will largely be a preference thing. And no, I'd rather look like a goof and remain as anonymous as possible.
