    After owing Glock, Sig, Kimber, Ruger, FN, and finally CZ, CZ is the clear winner hands down. My first CZ was the much anticipated P10C. The first version had a few issues but version 2 perfect. I was hooked, and sold all my handguns and began the CZ path. 2 years ago at my local gun show, i held the P01 Omega... It was made for my hand, perfect fit. 2 issues, not optic ready, and the 10+ lb DA pull was terrible, but i bought it already under a love hate relationship. I watched a video for the Mcarbo spring kit. It was only $36 plus install. Compared to cajun price and timeframe i thought i would try it. Local gunsmith charged me $75 plus the $36 to buy it and had it in hand in 3 days. For $111 it was transformed into a different gun. 6-6.4lb DA and 2.5lb SA. Buying a separate side directly from CZ to have optics milled so i have both. Even with irons, and I've been running optics on all my guns for the last 3 years, this P01 with irons is the best of all my CZs, honestly best shooting gun I've ever owned after the spring kit, 1000rnds, and polished up. And to top it off, these guns have run the Nato trials with 7 stoppages in 15,000 rnds! Yes that's correct, 15,000 rnds with only 7 failures. I trust that along with the military design, proven track record, and stellar performance for a gun costing only $650 retail before any work. Optics milling $300, spring kit $111, optic $300 holosun. For under $1500 you've got an incredibly reliable proven accurate great shooting handgun. My daily edc

    My EDC has evolved from a P10S to a P10C to a P07, and the latter is the first one I was really okay with carrying with one in the chamber (DA/SA triggers rock, y'all!). For some reason, though, I wanted to try the 75-style trigger guard with a holster I found laying around, and tried the P-01 and P-01 Omega alongside the PCR. Since I already had some familiarity with the Omega trigger system (it's used in the P07 and P09 I already have), and wasn't as happy with the decocker lever as I would like to be, I bought the PCR. One of the differences between the P01 and the PCR is that the latter has no rail under the dust guard, so mounting a weapon light isn't an option. I like the sights on my PCR better than what was on the P01 at the gun store that day.
    My decision came down to small ergonomic differences, because I know that any of the CZ compacts is going to shoot better than I can. "It hits where it's pointed, all I have to do is learn to point it at what I want to hit!"

    • @speccivilian
      @speccivilian  Год назад

      All of P01 variants like the PCR, D Compact, and OG P01 have the same grip so I know how you feel when making that decision. Solid choice! The PCR is one of my favorites but I’ve done some gunsmithing on that original seat cage and it’s such a hassle lol not too bad if you’re used to it but it can be a pain. The omega system is just soooo much simpler which is why I lean that way and which is why it’s silly they discontinued those models. I would appreciate the tactical decocker I had on my OG P01 on the Omega model but I figured out how to at least tune the decocker to feel a bit smoother. I honestly would’ve loved a PCR Omega but we probably won’t get that lol

    I'm sorry, but I don't think you're right about the difference with the internals and the ability the modify each gun. If you speak to anyone at CZ customs or Cajun gun works, they will tell you the exact opposite: namely, that working on the p-01 allows them to do far more (for example, smooth out the trigger in DA) compared to what they can do on the Omega model. I know this first hand by having CZ customs work on my p01 omega, and when it got it back, the DA on the trigger still had some stacking. In the regular p01, there was far more they could have done to smooth it out. When I called cajun gun works, they told me the same: that if given the choice, get the regular p-01, as there is far more they can do to customize it. Having said all of that, I actually liked the omega trigger and prefer the decocker location.

    • @speccivilian
      @speccivilian  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback! I believe you just explained that I was right though my man. In the video I explain that most people should get the Omega because it's more simple to modify not that you can do more make it better or smoother. In the video I explained that the regular P01 is more intricate thus should be left to the people who have a bit of CZ expertise because of the fact that it is so much more to do to make the trigger smoother, shorter, and even more crisp. That is why the internals makes the biggest difference because the internals dictate how much you can modify each trigger my man. I agree that the omega trigger and decocker placement is solid for the setup. More over that it doubles as safety

    funny thing with the P01 omega. those rubber bottom mags that originally came with it also have a 14rnd capacity... I spent ages trying to find more of them because all i could find were the 15rnd plastic bottoms and i didnt realize it would fit. so the old rubber bottoms in the omega were also 14rnd instead of 15.

    I bought an Omega, but the stock trigger pull is garbage. How was your experience with the Cajun process? Everyone speaks highly of them. Thought?

    • @speccivilian
      @speccivilian  8 месяцев назад

      Facts! The stock trigger pull is butt to me. Since you have the omega the Cajun trigger job would be easy if you really wanted to do it yourself. It’s like 7 steps and it’s over. I buy parts in pieces though because I don’t always need the whole package to make the gun better. If you do it yourself then tuning reset, preset, roller, and sear spring will be the main things you’ll mess with to get the trigger just right. If you send it off, once you get it back you’ll be hype for sure

Couple of gripes, lets start with slide. Its slim as hell, and thats a con imo. It does make up for it with its deep slide serrations, I can get a good grip. Second is the issues with dry firing? I watched many videos with people saying the roll pins break easily? They said the pins should be replaced but which ones? And does cajun gun works have them? I’m excited to put it through its paces but it has some stiff competition..being my HK P30😎

      Dope! You have a solid collection. DA/SA guns are fire to me! The TS2 Green is sweet, just wish it was an optic ready long range pistol so I have the option for a red dot. Of course, it can be milled but then you might have to run a proprietary plate and lose the irons depending on who does the service. I'd still want to run the irons for target training though. CZ Custom does a phenomenal job if you're ever considering a red dot system that allows for both irons and optics on the TS2.

    I was going to buy a WCB SXF9 but found both, CZ LE Omega and 75 P01 compact with all the upgrades built by CZC. All the Pins/springs, rebuilt trig’s, short reset, SS guide rods, both decocker set ups, tritium sights in OD green, etc. . $1499 for Omega w/red dot slide cut and the 75 p01 for $1999 w/H 407c red dot included.
    Is that a deal or too much $$$.
    And can this compare in shoot-ability to a WCB 2011 in your opinion? And yes I know, two very different tools.

      Great question! I believe less that $1500 for an Optic Ready CZ 75 B or P01 Omega is a deal but beyond that I don’t believe you’re adding to performance over just aesthetics, ya know. Typically when I do jobs, I upgrade specifics parts for performance first before aesthetics that way you can game the truly performance without wanting it to be something that it’s not because it looks too good. Now, honestly I’ve never got my hands on WCB 2011 so I couldn’t give you a fair comparison on that one, but what I will say is that I have a C2 and it’s the right upgrades definitely bring it up to par. Optic or not. Hope that helps my guy!

      Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to just give anyone anything. Everything that I own, I actually work hard for. If I come up on a discount code then I’m more than happy to help anyone save a couple dollars though for sure

    I appreciate the content and the information provided as I am someone who is planning on acquiring a CZ in the near future, but young man, it needs to be said. Your trigger discipline is non existent. I understand the parts where you demonstrate the breaks in the trigger to show the difference, but other than that I was cringing the entire video watching you pick up those guns and putting your finger right in the trigger. I sincerely hope for your safely and the safely of those around you that you develop safer habits when it comes to handling firearms, that’s how negligent discharges happen. Be safe. Again, thanks for the information.

    Omega def didnt age well. No longer offered and limited an already small aftermarket parts list.

      The P01 omega is no longer offered as it's discontinued but all other omega models such as the 75B, P07, and P09 are plenty available. Aftermarket's actually not too bad but it depends on what you're trying to make the pistol. It's not a Glock by any means so its not going to be as easy but if you know the parts needed for a fine tune and flashy accessories then there are plenty of options.

      I keep my guns mostly stock so not really an issue.

      Some owners of the P01 Omega reported issues with the decocker "walking" out. This doesn't seem to be an issue with the P07 and P09. Perhaps this was one of the reasons why they discontinued most of the metal hammer fired Omega models. The standard P01 has greater potential when modified as well. I personally like the standard model better, especially the decocker location. Also, current production P01 models come with 15rnd magazines.

    My CZ P01 Omega is a useless P.O.S and i will never be comfortable carrying it. After researching the issues I have learned that issues are way too common. If you're considering this gun for an EDC I would suggest anything but this.

      What issues did you have? You didn’t mention it.

      @speccivilian The slide locks, it has feed issues. Just a bummer of a deal. I expected better. I did not use reloads, and it failed the 2nd time I shot. It is 100% factory, I never dry fired it. It's less than a year old and has a 5 yr warranty. Hopefully they will take care of it. So, I'm shooting and about the 5th round the slide locks about half way back. This occurs at least once per mag. The feed issue its as if the ammo isn't seating well. But these are 2 separate issues.

      Carry mine everyday and will continue to do so. Currently at about 2500 rounds and not a single failure of any kind.
