Today I'm bringing you all a cool overview of the newest alloy everyday carry, the CZ Shadow 2 compact and the difference between its predecessor, the CZ 75 P-01. Two great carry pistols for the money that offer a lot of performance. Feel free to drops some comments below! P07 atill hands with the full Cajun treatment has got to be my favorote handgun
The P07 is hella slept on. Definitely works some magic once tuned and honestly feels more like a polymer S2C now days with Omega functions lol
I thought I’d be able to resist an S2C because I have a full sized optic ready S2. However my friend recently got a CZ75 Compact with some G10 grips and Dawson sights. I did WAY better with that thing than any of my other compacts. So now an S2C may have to join the family…
I solved the issue by buying both the Shadow 2 and Shadow 2 Compact. No more decisions, happy now...

Thanks for the feedback! The compact models are hard to resist. They just shoot so well plus you have plenty of option to enhance them if you like. The S2C is well worth it though. Gets you what you need out of an alloy compact gun from CZ no problem. Thanks for watching!

If you really mess with the S2 then honestly it’s no reason the S2C shouldn’t be your compact. I run my S2C as my back up competition gun and it works just as well in terms of speed and accuracy. Whenever the time is right, I would run it.

I read elsewhere that CZ is planning on rolling out a new P-01 sometime this year. It'll be interesting to see what that looks like, but I'm guessing that it'll at least be optics-ready from the factory.

Thanks for the feedback! I heard about a couple optic ready rereleases from CZ so you know we are waiting and then it’s gonna go down! The omega is classic but the sear cage has have some solid tolerances for a sweet trigger. Definitely post the S2C release. They have to snap lol thanks for watching!

I liked the idea of the compact when I first saw it. Now I never fired a CZ before but after one magazine it shot so well I fell in love. Now I’m thinking of a second for my granddaughter. It’s that good. I shot a center hole out of that first target. Protection beyond belief.

Whoops, commented before I saw you’d already converted the S2C to SAO. Excellent work! Just need to add a carry magwell
Much appreciated and thanks for the feedback! I thought about the magwell but honestly magwells on carry guns just don’t work optimally for carry builds. Maybe duty builds but the gun has a slim grip to take advantage of for carry so it should be solid rn. If you get a magwell yourself let me know how it is though. Thanks for watching!

FWIW.. love my P-01 Decocker.. haven't watched the video yet but AFAIK the Shadows are by concept competition guns.. no FPB .. target triggers

Try a P-01 non omega it’s a traditional true 75 and has the same traditional lock work system as all the other 75 series that makes them so great and easy to modify with Cajun gunworks parts yourself but the omega system is completely different system and I’ve seen even seasoned gunsmiths have a lot of trouble with them bc you tune one part and it throws the rest off so then you go back in there to tune that part and it throws off the first one it’s a very real pain in the ass now it shoots just fine stock just like a standard P-01 but you also can’t get all the mods you can with a trad 75 like the reach reduction kit and a few others and it will never be as smooth shooting as a trad P-01 and all you really get is the option of changing out the decocker for a safety and who needs an external safety especially when it means you loose your decocker but you do get a flatter trigger and a cooler looking hammer but you can get a better looking trigger and hammer from CGW and as for it being better than the shadow well if you have the CGW pro package it’s better shooting but if ya get the package on the shadow it’s about the same imo but the shadow has a lighter trigger pull and a tad more accurate maybe but it’s not a responsible carry gun at all bc you need at least a 3.5 or even 4# SA trigger to carry it out in public even for a seasoned shooter so you can pay a little more for a CGW P-01 unless you buy used and they’re just as good used as new, I have four of them all with slightly different setups and the P-01 only gets better as you shoot it and it’s absolutely true especially with the CGW pro package and I almost forgot the only thing about the P-01 is no optic cut so when I send mine to CGW I have them mill it out custom for a Trijicon RMRcc bc it gives you the ability to direct attach that optic without plates and I don’t know even with plates or maybe a lot of plates you would even have the option for that particular optic bc the RMRcc is a tad longer but it’s also skinnier so it doesn’t hang off the sides even a little. And oh yeah no safety.

That s2c trigger is insane, it’s just like a 1911. Which trigger and internals are in it? Also is there any way to get the SA pull in the p01 to a similar level to your s2c with reduced take-up and short reset? Thanks for the informational vid and subbed!
S2C looks real nice. It's a comp gun with very light trigger but i would prefer a gun with a definitive wall so there's no negligent discharge. What trigger is that and does it have a substantial wall or is it like the stock trigger?

Why does your cz shadow 2 compact has a bushing in front of the barrel ?
Accu bushing, the trigger is also upgraded.

Love my P01 the Shadow 2 was a bit of a disappointment for me I’m saving an extra 500 and getting the new DWX compact which is absolutely amazing an now comes Optic ready with a rail

I've heard that p10c base pad compatible with p-01 15rounds mag and function just finein P01.Have you ever try that? thx
Must be CA with 10rd mag dumps. Sorry, man. Great vid. I just picked up the SC2 and have an SP-01. These guns all feel and shoot like my Jericho/ Baby Eagles. They even share mags. Did your P01 come with the Omega trigger? I'm not seeing any for sale with that stamped on the frame.

Where did you get your optic plate and front sight from for your S2C?
Good question! The front sight is stock but the rear sight is the Dawson glock rear sight the CHPWS mounting plate needs the glock rear. Thanks for watching!

What holster are you using that fits the tlr7a and optic for the s2c?
Great question! I have a universal holster I’ve been using because at the time no one had the mold that fit the tlr-7 sub. It’s a couple places that you can get it from now though. I’ve been looking at Legacy holsters myself to have some decent color options. Thanks for watching!

Much appreciated and good question! I’m running the CGW SA trigger in the S2C at the moment. Allows you to get a little shorter reset for a faster slide cycle. Works like a charm honestly. Thanks for watching!

Did you do anything to the P01 Omega trigger? I saw your P01 unboxing video and it looks like the reset is longer in that vid?
Great question! I definitely tuned the P01 with a couple CGW and CZC parts. The reset out the box is long af but once you get the right parts it’s just as sweet as the modern triggers. The standard P01 allows you to get an even shorter reset though if you shoot off reset. The omega style makes it super smooth to play with. Thanks for watching!

Are those p-01 lol grips “shadow 2” cut? Better?
The grips on the S2C are the Bogie Lok grips that are the same style as the P-01 but not the same cut. They are not interchangeable but they feel the same as far as grip. Thanks for watching!

Great question! It doesn’t really. I’m sure if someone had a universal holster it could “work” but the S2C dimensions are more like the P07 and the trigger guard is different so in my experience it was a no go. Thanks for watching!

Are the mags the same? The work in both guns?
Good question! The mags are compatible but they’re different generations so the blueing and followers are different. That’s pretty much it though. Other than that they’re the same. Thanks for watching!
Tried that today. S2 trigger is just too light to carry without decocker and striker block. Super flat shooting tho.
Is the grip on the shadow 2 compact a Little smaller than the p01?
Great question! The grips feels slimmer because the back strap is straight instead of curved. Your fingers wrap a bit better but it’s no shorter. Thanks for watching!

I think there is an aftermarket tab you can buy to fit your rail. I got one for my Staccato CS

The tab for Stacc is a bit different but the 1913 and the Sig TLR subs will fit the S2C no problem

The Shadow 2 compact not having a decocker, and NO firing pin block as a extra safety is what makes it a worse EDC. The P01 is suited way better for actual carry and self defense. Shadow 2 compact....not so much

200 bucks to have my Omega get a optics cut as opposed to the extra 700 bucks it costs for a shadow 2 I think for me personally if I need a optic I will just pay the 200 !

A Shadow 2 Compact that hasn't been modified to be single action only doesn't have to be carried cocked and locked.
You totally missed the most important differences
Like the classic P01 is safer with the firing pin block? And decocker, and the Shadow 2 compact has a janky safety instead of a decocker and NO firing pin block...

You were wise to get a P-01 when they were still available in the omega form. Unfortunately, they stopped makin' 'em. At least I got a P-07.
How was that wise? It has an inferior trigger and was discontinued for a reason.
@@AdrenalineTheory Less than half the price, and still a nice gun. Also lefty friendly, and if you prefer a decocker over a safety, it has that option. And you can try it either way, decocker or safety.
Again, worse trigger and the safety option was pointless given what the gun was designed for. Standard P01 with decocker is the only correct option.

@AdrenalineTheory Exactly. Models were usually priced the same but there were issues with the decocker walking on some Omega models. The standard decocker model can achieve better performance when tuned/modified. I don't think this guy understands your comments re. the standard vs. Omega models.

Thanks for the feedback! Honestly, I’d take my S2C over my staccato any day. I can shoot it faster, it’s more slim like, and looks much more sexy. The Stacc is a beauty but needs flavor. Shoots hella well but for the S2C to be half cost and shoots faster. It’s hard for it to not take the cake. Thanks for watching!
