A VICE News Tonight investigation has found the group's tentacles are deep into Italy's food production, from field to fork. But one thing hasn't changed: the criminal group has shown it is still prepared to kill to defend its interests. - ruclips.net/video/8hHVuK8cA04/видео.html

It's like having a brand top of the line computer that works amazingly what's its built for at the time. Then fast forward 30 years that computer is obselete. It can still run basic things... Like Manual labor albeit runs slow or in a different roll as before. making children, sleeping etc. But the whole the entire society and environment has changed, different outlets, different software games applications, different ways to connect with one another Lan, wireless gsm etc.
Stuff we do today technology TV internet etc. And then over worked. Sleep deprivation, psychatric medicine etc. All unheard of before. Twinkies filled with delicious cream and sugar available by the truck load when sweet ripe fruit would considered a luxury in the past and even further in neolithic times Sweet fruit would be a lucky find.

True. I've experienced this in another way. My mom is very fair skinned despite being brown, like she's almost pale.. and I also inherited that, but not as pale.
People would always tell me I look like my mom, that I was beautiful, pretty, etc. Personally, I don't look like her at all, I look more like my father if anything.
But when my sister was born (different father), she was born dark skinned.. I was around 8 or 9, so I remember how people kept talking about how dark skinned she was.
Whenever we were at relatives or gatherings, people would always make that comparison, they would say I looked like my mom and then for my sister they would talk about her skin.
Nobody has ever said that my sister looked like anyone in our family. But my mom legitimately looked exactly like her when she was young. So.. why?
And I realized because were being prejudiced and discriminatory, just because of her skin color despite being family/relatives. It's messed up and sad.

My grandmother was an extremely fair skinned Indian woman and I considered my family to be a pretty progressive family. She went on to marry my grandpa who was a tall, dark and a handsome man.
So when she happened to tell me (a dark skinned woman) that she likes my sister better because she was fair, i was taken aback. And this happened just about a year ago.
I then started connecting the dots and saw a pattern - when I was younger and given lesser candy than my fairer American cousins, i was looked down upon. When I was given lesser affection than my fairer skinned sister, I was also looked down upon. I realized that it doesn't matter whether you come from the richest or the poorest household, you're still discriminated against in your own family in minute ways which mentally torment you, silently.
Luckily enough, my mum wouldn't pay heed to this 'fair skin obsession' and abolished the same within our home. For that, I am so grateful.

"My mom gave me this skin, and I love it." Made me tear up a little. It just put into focus with a single sentence how unnatural and wrong the narrative of "fair = beauty" is. If your ancestors were beautiful as they were, why you shouldn't be deemed as beautiful?
Melanin as also very protective and reduces the damage to skin and even DNA deeper in your body from radiation. You can compare how much more youthful very dark skinned people appear to very fair people when they reach middle age and older, and in the US where people live in the same area the difference is very apparent. *No skin color is better than another*, but if people developed a preference it would be more logical for it to be darker skin since we would look youthful for longer. There is of course the benefit of fair skin absorbing vitamin D better, but this can be supplemented in the diet. I just wish people everywhere were allowed to feel comfortable in their own skin instead of having fairness arbitrarily held as ideal in so many places around the world

I have done many trips around our continent and I've seen who different in dark skin tones we are. In cantral Africa and India, the more you approach the so-called Equator line, the more people are darker. It shows exactly why we have such a gift, but I always hate or sometime wonder why do people not embrace these differences as a matter of fact a kinda force of self-defense towards place, adaptation rooted from evolution of humankind. This word "fair" as its being used today has been redefined as meaning light,(as opposed to dark),
As in the term, fair skin, as in, "she is a fair skin person".
When someone says this what they are trying to say, (according to the current redefinition of the word fair) is that the person has a light complexion. This is a absolute redefinition of the word "fair".
This word "fair" never meant to have light complexion or light hair. Never once in any literature dating 100-150 years before now,(including the bible) is the word "fair" used as a description in regard regard to color.
This redefinition in and of itself has deep implications and strong undertones of racism. To imply by redefinition that something or someone is fair because they are of a lighter complexion is subliminally degrading those of darker complexion. That's to say those of darker complexions are unfair and ugly.
In India, this is being done as a prolonged form of colonial racism just as it is in Africa and Latin countries where "white",(actually various shades of red) people have colonized the people, land and culture.
      WAKE UP PEOPLE ....

    • @henri9109
      @henri9109 4 года назад +7

@@guestspinelli2435 I don't think the word fair and the subliminal meaning it may carry is the reason for Indian beauty standard being lighter skinned. In my opinion it has to do with the geography of the nation. In many Asian countries pale skin is seen as more beautiful because poor people have to work outside for living, which leads to unavoidable skin tanning. The correlation being that if you have light skin, it means you have enough wealth that you don't need to work in the rice fields. Wealth is the real beauty standard here. Same reason people buy expensive brand clothing.
I come from Finland, and we have a lot of white people here. Over here the beauty standard is to be more tanned. Because it shows that you have enough wealth to travel abroad to some warmer nation with sun shine. You get a nice tan while in that country, and then come home to your pale ass homeboys who get jealous just imagining the warm weather conditions you came from when they see your tan.

I'm a Sri Lankan who's considered light-skinned for my ethnicity. One of my good friends growing up had deep, dark skin and was constantly bullied by our school teacher and class for it. She used to be called 'kalu kaputa' (black crow) and was told she should wash her face more often to wash off the 'blackness'. She was very easy-going and took the jeering well but I could see that it really hurt her. I never joined in the jokes but I wish I'd stood up for her back then. The same teacher used to call me pretty just because of my light skin tone despite my friend being objectively waaaay prettier than me. These beauty standards are infuriatingly toxic.

I am wondering if a couple in India, Sri Lanka etc where beauty is measure by skin color gets married would they not consider the RISK of procreating and having a child with a dark skin color and having this human being plague with a life of prejudice, mocking, and pain and moreover many parents are dissatisfied and ashamed of their kid's skin color. The married couple KNOWS THE RISK AND POSSIBILITY of having a dark child based on their family skin color background thus, WHY CONCEIVE in such society? WHY RISK having a DARK CHILD in such society and be dissatisfied? WHY BRING TO SUCH SOCIETY A HUMAN BEING that will suffer the consequences of the parents GENETIC MATERIAL? I find it very unfair for the person who is born in such society; they are dark skin due to the parents DNA yet they pay the consequences of an unfair society due to the PARENTS CHOICE TO REPRODUCE WITH COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR THAT HUMAN THAT WILL CARRY THE BURDEN OF THEIR PARENTS DNA.
