      I love Vice but I think Vice can do better. It's great to shine a light on this but what can we do to make a change? Why are there not links to support people trying to help these girls. What is the point of watching someone else's sadness with no way to help?

      I love China so much. I would hate to see it become a petty dictatorship. They have grown and become such a powerful force on the planet. They should be leading the planet, not following and discriminating. Who wants to go to a place like that? Ask the USA.

    “we can’t show underage people” is loose translation for “we can’t have you exposing us, selling/exploiting these underage girls”. sick man.

    • @idrea43
      @idrea43 3 года назад +54

      I’m afraid that translation of yours is the only thing sick here. Age of consent is considerably lower in Japan (13 I think) so to them it’s like dealing with a girl with consent.
      Moreover, “exposing” the man for what? exploiting the girls exploiting themselves? That would never hold in a court of law, or just logically it’s unsound. The girls do it out of free will, but you strip them from both accountability for their actions and from their free choice.
      To add insult to injury, you don’t grasp that they have a different culture
      By no means am I an advocate for this foolishness, but place the blame where the blame is rightfully supposed to go

    • @pussydestroyer69285
      @pussydestroyer69285 3 года назад +210

      @@idrea43 you're a sick individual if you think 13 year old girls are able to think logically and make these kind of decisions for themselves. Also stop using culture as an excuse. "Culture" is used to justify abuse and mutilation of genitalia where I'm from so that won't hold up in court either. It's disgusting. Not to mention some of these girls were specifically targeted from low income areas and are probably doing this to help their families. The blame goes to the men that are exploiting them. Point black.

    • @idrea43
      @idrea43 3 года назад +11

      @@pussydestroyer69285 Point Blank*
      If culture isn't an excuse then the entire japanese government are pedophiles. Do you see how nonsensical the ramifications of your beliefs are? I ask that you think more perceptively in future. What's to blame is the predators and in many circumstances the girls themselves.
      And you can't crudely cross-reference culture as if they're all equally immoral.
      If the girls are being manipulated then obviously the manipulators are to blame. But don't try and shift accountability off all of the girls. Responsibility must be placed justly, not through a feminist lens. A healthy (or more accurately unhealthy) proportion of them walk into the industry by their own volition. And many of them are being targeted and exploited. The whole thing's a dumb idea in the first place.

    • @pussydestroyer69285
      @pussydestroyer69285 3 года назад +101

      @@idrea43 well, if the entire Japanese government are well aware of this and even participate then yes. Yes, they are indeed pedos. Lol. Was that a way to try and make a point? Or? This has nothing to do with your view of feminism. This has everything to do with the exploitation of CHILDREN. Because Yes.. these girls are CHILDREN. I'm not gonna blame children for putting themselves in these situations when the adults around them have failed them. Again, no 13 year old girl is capable of making this kind of decision on her own free volition. The blame will always be placed on the predators. I don't know exactly why you want to start "blaming" the girls. Like what exactly does that mean? You want us to shame these children for being exploited? Lol. Nice try.

    • @idrea43
      @idrea43 3 года назад +8

      @@pussydestroyer69285 Again, your lack of perceptivity leads you into a sad misunderstanding of what i'm saying. This isn't a black and white thing, don't make it out as though it is. There are undoubtedly girls who are targeted and procured. But there are also girls who voluntarily go into that sort of thing, at different ages. And to say the girls are entirely blameless is not distributing accountability justly. Like i said, no one cares for your feministic narrative when it comes to real life. This isn't about "shaming" like i said, simply a matter of justice. The procurers will always have an element of blame and in some instances so will the girls for actively seeking and accepting this.
      And you missed my point. The age of consent in japan is 13, regardless of this exploitation case. Are they pedophiles for that?
      Also thats an unsubstantiated claim, saying the entire japanese government is "In on it" (exploiting young girls). It's clear you aren't good at reasoning, i suggest you work on that.

      @Good Enough Guitar the age of consent being 13 is a widely spread piece of misinformation. each prefecture in Japan sets their own age of consent. for example, in Tokyo the age of consent is 17 due to the Youth Protection Laws of Tokyo. having uh relations with a 13 year old will get you arrested .

    • @Kriophoros
      @Kriophoros Год назад

      @@cxramelty242 lmao actually what you said is a widely spread piece of misinformation (yeah I just had this conversation recently so I know). This is taken straight from wiki page on Age of Consent in Asia:
      > An array of local ordinances adopted in all 47 prefectures [...] forbid sexual acts judged "indecent" (淫行, inkō) between adolescents (persons under 18) and adults [...]. A 1985 decision of the Supreme Court of Japan on Fukuoka Prefecture's bylaw held that the ordinances were not to be broadly interpreted as forbidding all adult-adolescent sexual acts, [...] also ruled that adult-adolescent sexual acts within "socially accepted norms", such as those within marriage, engagement, or a "similar sincere relationship", were not "indecent".
      So yeah in practice these laws only apply to underage prostitution. Also I googled Youth Protection Laws of Tokyo and found Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance Regarding the Healthy Development of Youths, which "promotes the healthy development of people under the age of 18 by restricting their access to published material that is considered inappropriate" (again, wiki) and has nothing to do with age of consent. Are you sure it's the correct name?

AND JUST BECAUSE ITS LEGAL DOESNT MEAN ITS MORAL. its so weird how grown men try to defend the 13 year old law so much, and even as someone whos 15 its mad weird, i would not want to have relations with a 14 year old let alone 13. disgusting.

      A typical "Pimp" would be found dead within hours in Japan. He would be treading on the official preserve of the Yakuza. The Yakuza control Vice and anyone who thinks they can muscle in, even GOD, would be found floating in the nearest river. Japanese Culture is the Worlds most complex.
      Definition of Yakuza: Officially recognised gangsters who are BORN into this multi-thousand year old cult. They even have their own Politicians, and even declare their ill gotten gains for Tax every year.
      When the Yakuza come to the attention of the international press, the Japanese will make some token gesture to make the press go away (such as a supposed law to ban them) but in reality everything will continue as before. You could only begin the destruction of the Yakuza by working from within, but you can only get into the Yakuza by being born into it. Every member is tattooed from birth, as part of the culture of protecting its own.

      This is incredibly misleading and inaccurate - shame on Vice for not doing their homework. In Japan, it's illegal to take pictures/video of people without their permission. This is ESPECIALLY true for underage minors. They were literally breaking the law by shooting the girls. The guy who came up and confronted them was probably not the boss, but someone who wasn't afraid to confront a big scary foreigner. People probably didn't tell them sooner as Japanese do their best to avoid confrontations, especially if it's a foreigner and they don't speak English.

      And before anyone comes out and start talking about it's a public area. The whole reason for filming. This was about the girls anyway. u r Not filming the general area anymore you feel me to individual.

      K-pop is not anime. It’s Korean pop, the performers are called “idols” and they’re much like these idols in Japan.
      Both male and female idols are commonly exploited by their company to do sex work, live in poor conditions, and struggle to make the industry, it can take up to 2 years for them to be put on stage while still being under contract the entire time
      Sure, it is their choice. But when you are put on a contract or you are only a teenager that left your family to do this work (ex. The Russian models in China) there needs to be a change to protect these workers.

    The amount of comments saying "well, this happens in other countries!!!" just to defend Japan are kinda gross. So what? If you are Japanese shouldn't you mainly want this eliminated in your country rather than using an excuse to allow it to continue? And we should all want to better our own nation instead of looking at other nations that have a similar issue and allow it to continue. Excuses don't allow for change to happen that is desperately needed, and that's pretty sad. This is a thing that happens everywhere, in the west when someone complains about any sort of issues a woman may have in her life, the immediate response is not "that's horrible, maybe we should fix that" it's a lot of times "well, at least this ain't the middle east" and the issue persists.

    Japanese men are expected to work very hard, or even just show that they are working hard by staying at work long hours, then going drinking, sometimes every night with their co-workers. Refusal, if the boss is there, is not an option. So they marry an "Office Lady" at work, who then gets pregnant, quits their job, and becomes a housewife, expected to bring up the kids. The children may never see their father during the week, and on the weekends he is too tired to spend time with them. They lose any personal and sexual interest in their wives, and might go out and look for gratification at whatever level with young girls. Their own daughters, without the presence of a stable father, end up vulnerable, and that's where the cycle comes from.

      During the week? Hell, I know people here who's bosses require they work and live in another prefecture, meaning they're lucky to see their wife and kids once every 3 months or so. They miss talking and spending time with women who'll listen, and feel disconnected from their own families so businesses like "girls bars" or "caberet clubs" are a popular option. JK walkers or "Compensated Dating" is a darker turn from this. On the other side of the coin, some overworked and disenfranchised single (and sometimes married) career women will frequent host clubs featuring young pretty boys with coiffed hair who are perfumed and stylishly dressed, sometimes in high school uniforms themselves.
      I don't know precisely the catalyst for the spread of these kinds of businesses, but Japan, a country priding itself on the cohesive family unit, has done fantastic work in wrecking families through an all-or-nothing corporate work culture.

I even met one of those young girls late at night in an alley and she was just standing there and probably selling herself (I walked by a few times that evening, so she definitely wasn't waiting for a bus there). She was crying, so I gave her a hug. :-/

Some of which I wish I could see more of in Europe. Like manners and discipline.

      ***** I suggest Japanese girls should become really fat, wear manly clothes, grow mustaches, eat a lot of hotdogs, hamburger, pizza, drink diet coke, and become butch.
      Wait a minute I would be describing American Girls!!! OOOPS!!

    The trend I found in the comments.
    Those with an anime character as their profile pic: protective, outspoken and white knight personality.
    Those without a picture: horny, aggressive, supportive.

      @@BadBoy-ri2le I don't mean that every kpop fan is the same but many are too crazy for their idols. Even when their financial situation weren't good, many are ready to invest tons into posters, photos, cards, etc. In concerts, many get run over, suffocated, fainted just to see their idols. On social media, if you mess with a kpop idol, you're screwed for sure.

      @@vietthanhbui5964 that's the reality of fandom as a whole... it is not just kpop fans who have those things in room... sports fans have their favorites soccer club and poster and merchs.. they scream when they watch football and if you mess with them you will also screwed up.. dont lie... Same in the anime fandoms... I am in one currently, and people have nendroid and poster and game and very much obsessed with the character and you will also would be fucked up if you mess with us too... it's the fandom culture that's to blame... and comparing kpop to jpop is a no-no. Japan music is good... but the idol industry is mostly a sexual fantasy... you can see it in the fandom age/sex... kpop girl/boy group fans mostly varies from teen to 30s, rarely older... as they are looking for a role model, and it rarely older because they seeing it as a hobby and they got bored (that's why kpop group only last for 7-10 years) and fans for both girl and boy groups are mostly girls that see them as a role model... but boy fans are also there and they are both in girl and boy group fandom... but Japan idol on the other hand could have a fans up up to their 60s and most of the girl idols fans are men... its rarely women.. they also have the underground idol thing which is disgusting.
