Schoolgirls for Sale in Japan

  • Japan’s obsession with cutesy culture has taken a dark turn, with schoolgirls now offering themselves for “walking dates” with adult men. Last year the US State Department, in its annual report on human trafficking, flagged so-called joshi-kosei osanpo dates (that’s Japanese for “high school walking”) as fronts for commercial sex run by sophisticated criminal networks.
    In our exclusive investigation, VICE News host Simon Ostrovsky will bring you to one of Tokyo’s busiest neighborhoods, where girls solicit clients in their school uniforms, to a concert performed by a band of schoolgirls attended by adult men, and into a café, where teenage girls are available to hire by the hour. But the true revelations come behind closed doors, when schoolgirls involved in the rent-a-date industry reveal how they’ve been coerced into prostitution.

    • @Kriophoros
      @Kriophoros Год назад

      @@cxramelty242 lmao actually what you said is a widely spread piece of misinformation (yeah I just had this conversation recently so I know). This is taken straight from wiki page on Age of Consent in Asia:
      > An array of local ordinances adopted in all 47 prefectures [...] forbid sexual acts judged "indecent" (淫行, inkō) between adolescents (persons under 18) and adults [...]. A 1985 decision of the Supreme Court of Japan on Fukuoka Prefecture's bylaw held that the ordinances were not to be broadly interpreted as forbidding all adult-adolescent sexual acts, [...] also ruled that adult-adolescent sexual acts within "socially accepted norms", such as those within marriage, engagement, or a "similar sincere relationship", were not "indecent".
      So yeah in practice these laws only apply to underage prostitution. Also I googled Youth Protection Laws of Tokyo and found Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance Regarding the Healthy Development of Youths, which "promotes the healthy development of people under the age of 18 by restricting their access to published material that is considered inappropriate" (again, wiki) and has nothing to do with age of consent. Are you sure it's the correct name?

AND JUST BECAUSE ITS LEGAL DOESNT MEAN ITS MORAL. its so weird how grown men try to defend the 13 year old law so much, and even as someone whos 15 its mad weird, i would not want to have relations with a 14 year old let alone 13. disgusting.

      Definition of Yakuza: Officially recognised gangsters who are BORN into this multi-thousand year old cult. They even have their own Politicians, and even declare their ill gotten gains for Tax every year.
      When the Yakuza come to the attention of the international press, the Japanese will make some token gesture to make the press go away (such as a supposed law to ban them) but in reality everything will continue as before. You could only begin the destruction of the Yakuza by working from within, but you can only get into the Yakuza by being born into it. I’m afraid that translation of yours is the only thing sick here. Age of consent is considerably lower in Japan (13 I think) so to them it’s like dealing with a girl with consent.
      Moreover, “exposing” the man for what? exploiting the girls exploiting themselves? That would never hold in a court of law, or just logically it’s unsound. The girls do it out of free will, but you strip them from both accountability for their actions and from their free choice.
      To add insult to injury, you don’t grasp that they have a different culture
      By no means am I an advocate for this foolishness, but place the blame where the blame is rightfully supposed to go

      If culture isn't an excuse then the entire japanese government are pedophiles. Do you see how nonsensical the ramifications of your beliefs are? I ask that you think more perceptively in future. What's to blame is the predators and in many circumstances the girls themselves.
      And you can't crudely cross-reference culture as if they're all equally immoral.
      If the girls are being manipulated then obviously the manipulators are to blame. But don't try and shift accountability off all of the girls. Responsibility must be placed justly, not through a feminist lens. A healthy (or more accurately unhealthy) proportion of them walk into the industry by their own volition. And many of them are being targeted and exploited. The whole thing's a dumb idea in the first place.

This has nothing to do with your view of feminism. This has everything to do with the exploitation of CHILDREN. Because Yes.. these girls are CHILDREN. I'm not gonna blame children for putting themselves in these situations when the adults around them have failed them. Again, no 13 year old girl is capable of making this kind of decision on her own free volition. The blame will always be placed on the predators. I don't know exactly why you want to start "blaming" the girls. Like what exactly does that mean? You want us to shame these children for being exploited? Lol. Nice try.

    • @idrea43
      @idrea43 2 года назад +8

      @@pussydestroyer69285 Again, your lack of perceptivity leads you into a sad misunderstanding of what i'm saying. This isn't a black and white thing, don't make it out as though it is. There are undoubtedly girls who are targeted and procured. But there are also girls who voluntarily go into that sort of thing, at different ages. And to say the girls are entirely blameless is not distributing accountability justly. Like i said, no one cares for your feministic narrative when it comes to real life. This isn't about "shaming" like i said, simply a matter of justice. The procurers will always have an element of blame and in some instances so will the girls for actively seeking and accepting this.
      And you missed my point. The age of consent in japan is 13, regardless of this exploitation case. Are they pedophiles for that?
      Also thats an unsubstantiated claim, saying the entire japanese government is "In on it" (exploiting young girls). It's clear you aren't good at reasoning, i suggest you work on that.

    The amount of comments saying "well, this happens in other countries!!!" just to defend Japan are kinda gross. So what? If you are Japanese shouldn't you mainly want this eliminated in your country rather than using an excuse to allow it to continue? And we should all want to better our own nation instead of looking at other nations that have a similar issue and allow it to continue. Excuses don't allow for change to happen that is desperately needed, and that's pretty sad. This is a thing that happens everywhere, in the west when someone complains about any sort of issues a woman may have in her life, the immediate response is not "that's horrible, maybe we should fix that" it's a lot of times "well, at least this ain't the middle east" and the issue persists.

      I went to a BABYMETAL concert in the Tokyo Dome back in 2018 and hooked up with a bunch of Japanese guys, all in their 30s, I guess. We went to an afterparty afterwards and then we all enthusiastically discussed who our favorite barely legal teen was, lol.
      Yeah, but for real, I'm in love with Japan, but I've seen (and experienced) first hand the very shady and downright ugly side of it too. I even met one of those young girls late at night in an alley and she was just standing there and probably selling herself (I walked by a few times that evening, so she definitely wasn't waiting for a bus there). She was crying, so I gave her a hug. :-/

      Matthew 18:6 Jesus says, “If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
      I don't think we can impose our standards on those who do not know Jesus. Rather we should introduce them to His love and then this problem goes away. Truly anyone who accepts Jesus can never think to commit these crimes against children nor do they need to because He will supply all their needs according to his riches in glory.

      By selling and exploiting young girls, you give those girls a bright future as the supporting pillars of society, and you give workers an avenue to release stress!
      However, if you keep on filming and exposing the darker sides of Japan's society, you only make things worse for everyone, and therefore, you're the villain!

Some would jump and think that they're doing shady jobs for money but in actuality just handing out fliers.

    That has to be one of the absolute worst jobs ever, I have done some very high risk high fatality rate jobs which I would gladly do every day over having to do journalism concerning disgusting and absolutely horrific situations like underage trafficking situations. However we need journalists like this in order to catch the people responsible for these situations and castrate those scum bags with also cutting off both their hands as a reminder to them to stay out of that situation and forcibly shut these filthy and extremely emotionally destructive situations down around the world.

    the japanese idol stuff really reminds me of the kpop industry. they definitely have their similarities. except, i think the kpop industry has a lot more female fans (but i don't know that for sure). i think a lot of the fans of japanese idols are usually men, at least that's how it has been depicted.

    • @brvhtxxbxk
      @brvhtxxbxk 3 месяца назад

      Yea, it definitely has its similarities,the fan cams are mostly taken by men who are obsessed by one idol of the group for either youtube or for his own 'pleasure'. The fan bases are mainly girls for sure but for boy bands,it's a mix of both genders,it's definitely weird but for j-pop,it's in fact more disturbing. Kpop idols cannot have sex or have sexual relationships with anyone while they are part of a group since it will break their fans delusion,if one idol gets caught,they get banned from the group or gets canceled(as far as I know)

    I was born and been living in japan for all my life. What if I told you that old guys just treat girls like that on a daily basis, and women are so used to be treated like objects they don't even see the harm?
    Even in the office I work in, men constantly say and do things that makes me uncomfortable and that I consider as sexual harassment, but when I told my boss (who is a man) he just said that they don't mean harm, and just act like that because I'm cute.
