My three most anticipated ones out of these have to be Eternights (which I already pre-ordered lmao), Fate Samurai Remnant and Granblue Fantasy Relink
I'm a big fate fan so I'm hella excited for Samurai Remnant. But even other than that, it's so cool that so many different developers seem to be working towards making their old rpgs more readily available in a fresh, updated way.
Suikoden, Mario, star ocean, sea of stars, and granblue are the five I’m looking forward to the most.

My most anticipated three are: Granblue relink, baten katos and mario.
There's so much to look forward to. I'm mostly excited for Eternights, Silent Hope, Decapolice and Granblue Fantasy: Relink . But gotta admit, Fantasy Life is the ONE that I'm gonna sell my soul to

There are only ten games on this list that I'm looking forward to playing; Eternights, Fate/Samurai, Granblue Fantasy Relink, Sword Art Online, Persona 5 Tactica, Like A Dragon Gaiden, Infinity Strash, Crymachina, Super Mario RPG, and Sea of Stars.

Great list for leveling up my Japanese also here a quick lesson when you talked about the character Dai is actually a reading of a Japanese kanji for big/great/important(大) and many games use daibouken(great/big adventure)大冒険 so now you know. Good video
So keen for the Level-5 Revival. I'd played Fantasy Life back in the day but I've been investing like 60 hours into it this year almost entirely on 15-45 minute train trips and just enjoying it. I'm also keen for Sea of Stars.

Fantasy Life, Sea of Stars, and Silent Hope are the ones I'm looking forward to most! I hadn't heard of Eternights until I saw this video, and my curiosity is definitely piqued by the unusual combination of genres!

Not sure if its considered a Wrpg or Jrpg but I'm looking forward to World of Horror and Elden ring dlc. Jrpg wise I can't wait for Sea of stars, Super Mario rpg remake, Nayuta: Boundless Trails, Ys X (import), For my backlog I still need to play Cross Code.

I look forward to Sea of Stars. I'm impressed with the demo and i'm hoping it's as good as Chained Echoes. I also want to say that i'm still hoping and praying that Parasite Eve will get an HD remake released for PC.

Sea of Stars, Eternights, Star Ocean and Dragon Quest Monsters are day one buy for me. Granblue Fantasy Relink and Deca Police to if they release this year but I highly doubt it.

I am going to go with the Suikoden I and II HD remaster as the first one got me back into JRPGs after a long hiatus. For a physical release, looks like we will have to go the Play Asia route. I am also looking forward to Star Ocean: The Second Story R and Super Mario RPG. Boundless Trails... not sure about that one. I've been on the fence about the collectors edition, but feel that might be giving into FOMO; it is hard to tell how good will be, and I do not like those acrylic stands which just look cheap to me.

Suikoden 2, my first jrpg. I have a very fond memories of playing this game and I really cant wait to play it again.
Original releases of Mario rpg and suikoden 2 are still bangers today.
Dragon Quest Monsters is my big absolute must play from this list. Others that are "Almost definitely" are Star Ocean 2 remake, new Fantasy Life, Super Mario RPG remake, and the Suikoden collection. More possiblys are Persona 5 tactica if I get around to playing Persona 5 ever, Mon-Yu, assuming it's basically an Etrian Odyssey, Sea of Stars, and Baten Kaitos collection.
Quite a few good and interesting ones.
Sea of Stars has been on my Steam wish list for go knows how long, at least three years at this point. The game finally coming out is honestly incredibly surreal for me. Loved The Messenger to death and I hope that Sabatoge can deliver yet another banger, which just by looking at trailers, looks like they're about to.
What's crazy to me about Sea of Stars is I've been following the development of that game for YEARS on reddit in some gamedev circles I'm part of while developing my own game. I legitimately never knew the title until this video

cool list
CRYMACHINA is literally my most anticipated game of the year. Dunno what actual gameplay you saw, but it's a mix of NieR Replicant/Automata and Dark Souls. The bosses have a Dark Souls-ish feel, very strategic, slower paced, finding the right openings, movement management, and generally managing your damage output. There's a couple fights I saw that are closer to a "dance" with the boss being as nimble and fast attacking as yourself. There's a LOT of JP gameplay out now cause' it's already out over there. Honestly, the story is something I'm also looking forward to, I'm gonna run through Crystar before I tackle this (primarily to see the prior game in this "universe", I don't believe they are directly connected, but thematically they are definitely, plus just to see what the previous venture was). The only thing I'm hoping is that there won't be any Playstation related censorship as with what happened with Crystar (it doesn't seem to be the case).
2023 is the year of the RPG, and this train aint slowin down!

Unfortunately, I don't think Relink is going to make it before next year with no release date yet and GBVS Rising releasing in November.
RPGs I'm looking forward to playing are Rune Factory 3: Special, Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name, Super Mario RPG and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. Oh and Sea of Stars. The demo was fun.

Suikoden 1 and 2 is super recommended. I completed it in ps3. I rly like Suikoden 2 cooking competition 😂

Silent Hope is on my list just because it takes place in the same universe as rune factory. Don't know if that is important or not but it is intersting at the very least.

Of these, i'm looking forward to Eternights bc I liked the demo, and Sea of Stars for the same reason. I actually didn't care much about either before trying out the demos, but they won me over. Unfortunately i probably won't get either for some time, my backlog has grown massively this year and Blasphemous II releases on the 24th this month and i already got it and that's all i care about.
speaking of Decapolice..can we please get Yo Kai Watch 4? along with revamped ports of the earlier games?
Only really care about 4 as it looks like a spiritual successor to Ni No Kuni 1.

I played the demo and its got some of the Etrian Odyssey developers who Sega fired/let go when they couldn't help with SMT V switch port.
Specifically the artist is the same for certain, and the menu system is very similar. I don't know a single japanese writen word, but was able to play the demo, create my characters, buy supplies and enter the dungeon, all because it's the same requirements that the first 4 EO games had.
You have a mode where you can recreate the experience in EO by physically drawing your own map (out of the game), as the game will only show your grid location and current direction... IF you select that option at some point. 😂 I couldn't get much farther than that in the demo.
I discovered this game because of the artist. I like FPDC games, be they echi like Moreo Chronicles or silly and childish like Class of Heroes 1&2.
EO trilogy on Switch is nice, and i know this game isn't as good as EO, but i am certainly checking out the reviews when it launches.
Trails Into Reverie is unbelievably good. Absolute masterpiece

a lot of interesting titles, surprisingly. i wonder how many of those will release in physical / europe?
I would say like 70% are getting physical releases and all should release in Europe.
I've come to accept that the Suikoden remaster isn't going to be a full series collection, (or even include 3 despite the save transfer function) but it really SHOULD include both Genso Suikogaidens since they are directly tied to Suikoden 2 and never officially released outside japan. (Plus there is some precedent because even the lazy Chrono Cross remaster included Radical Dreamers)
Aside from that I can only hope we get all the 3D Suikodens including spinoffs in an HD collection later. Partly due to Suikoden V being my personal #1 JRPG.
Suikoden V is the only Suikoden I've played and I loved it. Really looking forward to the remasters of I and II :)
In term of new games I'm most excited for GBF because it looks like an actually great playable anime, flashy & cool moves go brrrr. It would also be better if it's actually challenging tho.
Eternight would be the next because of my expectation that there will be some unexpected sick twist for some reason since it's a JRPG.
And lastly Decapolice because I like detective. Dunno how they will approach the "deduction" tho, I really hope it's on par with Rain Code but then again RC is a VN.

Suikoden 2 is an absolute MUST play. One of the best JRPGs of all time for sure
Dai's adventure ran for like 300 chapters. It's huge in Japan. Also, the name is Infinity Strash is one of his strongest technique. It's a mix between Strike and Slash. At least do a little research on stuff.

Lots of cool games this year. Also i honestly think that Suikoden 3 and 4 needs a remake but knowing Konami i highly doubt that would happen as it would be considerably more work than 2d.

How fucked up is it when people have been burned so many times by CyGames that they have just given up on GranBlue Fantasy Relink coming out this year, let alone getting a release date, & are now just waiting to hear of ANOTHER delay. Lol.

Rhapsody 2&3 is the top of my list.
I pre-ordered the collectors edition the moment it was announced.
I was disappointed with Disgaea 6, and while I have read that D7 is better overall... It might be the first time since D3 that I skip on the Collectors edition.
I am interested in Sea of Stars, but there were points in the demo that pulled back my excitement a little. It's still somewhat high on my list, but my budget is bust for the most part until October because I grabbed the Collectiors edition of Rune Factory 3 Special. And I am more interested in the Star Ocean remake eventually. but the black Friday savings need to start at some point.

SAO hollow fragment is the first game and the best out of all Aquari dev SAO games. I played on Vita for more than 100 hours. but not the same as HR or Lycoris.

I know it's not a JRPG but many Japanese Gamers are excited for Starfield, currently playing Kuro no Kiseki 1 after finishing Trails into Reverie but as soon as September 1st comes, I'll stop everything and play it.
I want to know what's your thoughts on it and if you'll do a review on it @TheGamingShelf since I enjoy your review.

I probably won't review Reverie since I'm so behind on the Trails games, but once Kuro gets localized I'll be reviewing those for sure! I'll also be reviewing Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails which is a Trails side game.

SAO: Last Recollection is the main game I'm looking forward to this year. It basically just seems like a superior version of the last game and tbh I'm fine with that.
