... Suikoden 1 and 2 ... Eiyuden Chronicles! (I hope this can accept the old save) the rest goes latter after I finish PERFECTLY 3 above at least twice each ...
Thank you! It’s all me, no editors or help lol. I figured this would be a video people would come back to all year long so I figured I might as well make it easy to skim through :)
Labyrinth of Refrain really came out of no where for me as well. I was looking for something different to play and decided to fire it up on Switch and I was hooked until the end. Really excited for this next entry!
Whoa, and I'm not even close to finishing a lot of 2022 releases! Thank you for the list! Outside of the big names, I can see myself putting a lot of time into Blue Protocol and Atelier Ryza 3. Definitely a lot more games I gotta keep an eye on now!
Thank you for this amazing recap of what we will see in 2023. Sea of Stars was already high in my list for this new year and I can't wait for it. I didn't know Moonstone Island, but it seems really cool so thank you
Okay…WOW! This list is amazing and has everything and then some! Great work on this video - it’s definitely the best video I’ve seen so far of what’s coming out this year. 👏👏👏
Great video as always man. 21 minutes isn't crazy long 🤣 I'm so stoked for a bunch of these. I wasn't going to get octopath 2 because octopath 1, while amazing, was so long, but I think you sold me on it. Suikoden is one of me favorite series of all time so getting the remasters makes me so happy. I also backed Eiyuden and can't wait for it.
I'm going to buy Suikoden 1+2 at full price which I almost never do. I hear they are adding difficulty settings to Eiyuden, which will most likely mean level scaling and other bull shit. I will get it but wait on sale and check those reviews. How big of a sale should I wait for?
Another great video! I was never really much into jRPG (I think I'm more of a cRPG myself) but since I bought a Switch I've been trying some games in the genre and I've been really enjoying them! So I'll definitely keep an eye on these! I think there is something for everyone.
A lot of awesome games. After FF14 Endwalker(my goty 2021) FF16 would of been my most anticipated but it's not on pc So far Persona 3, One piece Odyssey,Octopath Traveler II, a few weeks ago i started Atelier Ryza 1-2 and both are really fun so Ryza 3 Blue Protocol,Fate,Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Holy shit... I never realized they put a release date on Galleria. I fucking LOVED labyrinth of refrain, was one of the most unique DRPGs released in recent history
Eiyuden Chronicles, Suikoden1&2 HD, Sea of Stars, Octopath Traveller 2, Trails to Azure, Trails into Reverie, FF 1-6 Pixel Remastered, FF7 Rebirth, Persona 3 & 4. So many good games coming out. Awesome video highlighting what to look forward to.
Really looking forward to Sea of Stars and Eiyuden (which I backed). I was looking forward to Granblue b/c Platinum was involved but something happened there... Suikoden is my favorite series of all time and anyone who hasn't played it should. But I already own 1 and 2 twice (original physical copies and on PSN). Not sure I want to buy it a third time. Suikoden Tactics and V are the only ones not on PSN, so it'd be nice if they were given a new release.
I actually discovered a couple of games i didn't know were coming, like Digimon World which i missed as i didn't own a PS4 when that came out, so it's awesome it's finally coming to PC!
I'm excited for all these JRPGs... It's going to be a wild year. For me the Trails games (Azure and Reverie, wished for Kuro no Kiseki 2023 localization release aswell but oh well) Eternights is also a game I'm keeping my eyes on, afterall, give me a game where you actively do lewd stuff (Press R2 to hold hands) :D but joking aside, it looks great Been waiting for this video for a while, thanks man
I love a lot z.z.z and moon island, and also all the new HD pixel art games, the Suikoden remake, and of course FFXVI this saga is my number 1 forever and ever.
Suikoden was so awesome in its time, but i have no desire to revisit it. I finished both games years ago. I'm invested in Eiyuden chronicles , I've been a kickstarter backer of the game from the beginning and i can't wait to play it.
... I hope it will become serial series latter like Suikoden ... and I hate whoever disband Suikoden team for whatever reason they have ... I'm sure this will sell well and the team can throw sh*t to whoever disband them ...
2022 was great for jrpgs and 2023 looks no different. Looking forward to getting Tales of Symphonia on the ps4 since i have it on the ps3 that my cousin lent to me. Every excuse is good to play one of my favourites JRPG!
90s 2000s and every year has good rpgs but im so glad to be around for the current releases. Theres so much to choose from and its all quality and everything i wanted rpgs to be but with high quality graphics. I love how alot of people and devs like the same games i do
thanks so much for this list! I usually hold your reccs in high regard and im looking forward to this year! Lowkey stacked... I should go ahead and finish cold steel 3 and 4 cuz reveire looks awesome!!!
For context on record of the agarest war, it was a pretty unique concept of generational armies (ala phantasy star 2/romancing saga 2). However, it was ported to mobile a long time ago, so I'm guessing the switch port is just a quick cash grab to port it from mobile to switch.
Have you thought about making a JRPG Release Calendar available for your subs and fans? Would be really neat to have just to keep up on all these upcoming releases! Love the videos btw~ Keep up the great content!
Too many, not enough time or memory space, I'll almost certainly forget most of them exist by the time they release. I'll probably just check out Fairy Fencer cuz I love banter of the cast members and kinda wanna see what they're up to. I'll play Relink if they let you dress up Djeeta like the mobile game. Oh, and Gran too I guess.
It's kind of funny. This is probably the largest "upcoming RPGs for 2023" I've seen uploaded up to now. And to your credit, you've even mentioned multiple RPGs I've seen others forget: "Labyrinth of Galleria", "Mato Anamolies", "Monster Menu" (this is literally the only video I've seen bring it up), etc. But even then...I can still point out a couple that were missed: "Void Terrarium 2", that "Mugen Souls" switch port, "GrimGrimoire OnceMore", etc. I guess that just goes to show how much is releasing or possibly releasing in 2023 already, it's almost impossible to keep track of it all. And to think this is just the stuff we know, there's going to be more that hasn't been announced yet. Regardless of your tastes and budget tolerance, there's seemingly going to be something for damn near everyone.
left out redemption reapers =[ sRPG with fimilar aspects of fire emblem with a darker tone. Masayuki Horikawa who directed FE:path of radiance is involved. Planned for Feb 2023
Actually Tales of Symphonia was original released 2003 for ps2. The ps3 version was a polished version already. It came with it's sequel Symphonia Cronicles. The PS3 version is in the self. They could remaster Tales of the Abyss at some point. Looking forward to GranBlue Fantasy and StarRails - Hoyoverse!
I don't even know about Legendia maybe I missed it. I never had a Game Cube so, I don't know about either. Symphonia was definitely on ps2, same as Abyss.
I'm a major Fire Emblem fan, so I'm obviously looking forward to that. I only ever played Mega Man Battle Network 3 back in the day, so I'm interested in the collection. Wrestle Quest and Monster Menu might be interesting, though in regards to the latter I've found that I mostly just like Disgaea from NIS, with their other games only being just okay. I am absolutely getting Rune Factory 3. RF4S was my introduction to the series While I definitely plan on getting Disgaea 7, it probably won't be for anywhere near full price. 6 was just so incredibly disappointing. I never played the suikoden series, but I am interested in both Eiyuden Chronicles and the remakes of the first two. I'm also interested in all 3 front mission remakes. Never played the series. Moonstone Island, Sunnyside. And WitchSpring R seem interesting, especially the first one.
Nice blue archive bgm lol, I'm looking forward to all the persona like JRPGs, they usually miss but I have faith at least one of them have learned from others mistakes
Wheeeeew, man what a list. My poor wallet. Thanks for organizing this - going to have to reference this a number of times this year. Also, unannounced, really hoping DQ3 gets a '23 release date!
Suikoden HD I and II look way better than the PS1 versions so I'm looking forward to it. Suikoden V is my fave. I also think Granblue Fantasy Relink needs to come out this year. But it feels like a good sign that they will have a playable demo next month for their event.
I just brought Chained Echoes and Jack Move Lets go they look really good to be honest ^^ and i love your videos im glad i subscribed to you you deserve it bro ^_-
"winter" goes into the first few months of the new year, ya know? Wouldn't expect FF7R2 before Feb/Mar, which is still winter, but a Dec release would be very welcome!
Well, this video is shots fired at Backlog battle :D I'm definitely all over FF16. I'm curious about Loop8 and One Piece Odyssey. I want to play the Megaman battle Network games. Sea of Stars is probably day one for me. I've been waiting for Granblue fantasy ever since a trailer impressed me three years ago. Fuga 1 is in my backlog. FF7-2 will not be out in 2023.
The one out of all of these that I am most excited for is Suikoden 1&2.. I grew up playing that franchise and always favored it over Final Fantasy. It definitely got lost under the shadows of the Final Fantasy franchise as well as many other awesome JRPGs of that era.
The Gaming Shelf, isn't Genshin Impact due for release on the Switch between July-September though? That is the one game I'm HIGHLY anxiously awaiting for!
@@TheGamingShelf do you have one for 2022? I feel like i definitely missed some games and this list was so thorough. Edit: nvm i found it and my bank account is in trouble 😂
One Piece Odyssey, Octopath Traveler 2, Suikoden Remasters and Sea of Stars are the ones I am most excited for and that I plan to pre-order/get day one. Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D also if it releases next year. I am also interested in Granblue Fantasy Re:Link but I'll see on that. For the others not really that hyped for.
Soo many awesome games..so little time! im literally making a list as i'm watching the video , and i have 11 games i want to play jotted down already! lord help my wallet.😅😅 Thank you for this taylor great video.
@@TheGamingShelf well all of the upcoming trails games , eternights , both upcoming final fantasy games , fe engage and grandblue fantasy relink just to name a few😂😂
Excellent. Now to quit my job and pump energy drink directly into my veins and I'm good to go! i can be liek my neighbor in the aprtment next door who never leaves or sleeps.
I don't known if I'm more excited for new games like FE: Engage or all my beloved games like Persona and Suikoden. But I"ll play them all. Agarest War is a love and hate game. It's pretty good since you can marry multiple generations and have a son with the skills of the girl you marry. It's a great visual novel, but the combat is horrendous boring and sometimes broken. The only great question of 2023 is... Will Granblue REALLY be in 2023? I'm hyping for this game for a long time. u.u Eiyuden is my most waited from the list. As someone that really loves suikoden I can't wait to play that spiritual successor. (BTW Do you known about a game named Codename: Wandering Sword? I discovered it by accident since it's not much spoken, I think it will be out in 2023)
🎮Which JRPGs are you most excited to play in 2023?
FF16
Eiyuden Chronicles!
assuming ff7 part 2 comes out in 2023 then that's my number 1.
also fire emblems engage is my most anticipated short term.
...
Suikoden 1 and 2 ...
Eiyuden Chronicles! (I hope this can accept the old save)
the rest goes latter after I finish PERFECTLY 3 above at least twice each ...
Hopefully dragon quest 3hd. If DQ12 probably won't be out this year maybe 3-2dhd will be ready before the year ends. The spin-offs are pretty fun too.
Just want to say thanks for adding chapters to your videos.
You're very welcome!
Bro your commitment to even making this list and also having timestamps to organize it whoever you have edited it's very much appreciated
Thank you! It’s all me, no editors or help lol. I figured this would be a video people would come back to all year long so I figured I might as well make it easy to skim through :)
Labyrinth of Refrain was such an amazing out of left field hit for me that there's no way I won't try the next entry in that series.
Labyrinth of Refrain really came out of no where for me as well. I was looking for something different to play and decided to fire it up on Switch and I was hooked until the end. Really excited for this next entry!

A nice fat video! I'm really looking forward to FFXVI, although Trails from Reverie and Azure is pretty high up there!!
All of them are gonna be awesome! Great choices.
Thanks!
Dang William thanks for the love!

Wow thanks for the kind words 😄 I was definitely later than everyone else so I knew I had to make it bigger haha
Great video as always man.
21 minutes isn't crazy long 🤣
I'm so stoked for a bunch of these. I wasn't going to get octopath 2 because octopath 1, while amazing, was so long, but I think you sold me on it.
Suikoden is one of me favorite series of all time so getting the remasters makes me so happy. I also backed Eiyuden and can't wait for it.
For me it is haha. I never make videos this long.
...
I don't exactly Octopath 1, but Octopath 2 seems closer to my taste (because the camera movement looks like Saga Frontier) ...
I'm going to buy Suikoden 1+2 at full price which I almost never do.
I hear they are adding difficulty settings to Eiyuden, which will most likely mean level scaling and other bull shit. I will get it but wait on sale and check those reviews. How big of a sale should I wait for?
Omg so many JRPGs to look forward to! Super excited for Ryza 3 😍

Thank you! And all those games you named definitely look fantastic.
I always said FF6 needed a remake not FF7. Now we have some level scaling action RPG FF7 remake bullshit plus FF6 is getting no love.
Trailes into Reverie is my most excited for 2023
4:36 i remember a time whene the internet was full of this game artworks, the arts are amazing, that all i know
It’s amazing that a niche genre survives and becomes popular again. 60 titles is no kidding
Hell yeah 😎 I remember the dark days of the PS3 when there were almost none.
It's hard to imagine that any jrpg will ever have as good writing as Suikoden II, so I'm happy to see it rereleased.
Good job bro, I used to watch it every time I need to relax a little and have some information and inspiration for keeping going.

That One Piece rpg was not on my radar until recently. It has quickly become a highly anticipated game for me

The close beta test for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is scheduled for this summer too.
Finally!
Will Honkai star rail be available on PS5?
Eventually yea! They did announce it, just no date yet.
Dragon Quest III HD remaster?
Hasn't been confirmed...yet.
@@TheGamingShelf 🤞
FF16 and 7 Rebirth are already MUST BUY GAMES
100%!
Hi.. Where is the thumbnail from
Fire Emblem Engage!
Looking forward to all the ff, dq, trails, tales and Phantasy Star 5.
(okay maybe I made that last one up)
It's always nice to have dreams 😜

I wouldn't count on it. The last few Final Fantasy titles have been nothing but disappointments especially XV.

I'm hyping for this game for a long time. u.u
Eiyuden is my most waited from the list. As someone that really loves suikoden I can't wait to play that spiritual successor.
(BTW Do you known about a game named Codename: Wandering Sword? I discovered it by accident since it's not much spoken, I think it will be out in 2023)
I'm excited for Xenoblade 3 story expansion which will probably get a standalone release like XB2 Torna.
what does early 2023 mean
The last 2 sao games were good can’t wait for the new one
