at 17:22 why is that so funny i dont get it? I tried to find the meaning on the internet but i did not see anything that would make someone laugh so much. What does it mean what she said??? *canterbury conversion* ?????
Tim burton and writers had done great to make wednesday addams, including if you look carefully the numbers on gomez prison numbers, 171912 it is the birthday of Charles Adams Jan/7/1912 the original cartoonist of the Adams family !
Catherine Zeta-Jones is PERFECT as Morticia Addams! Not only does she LITERALLY look flawless but she also has this very loving energy she gives off. And Luis Guzmán is equally perfect as Gomez Addams. As the only kid to a single mom I would’ve LOVED for Gomez to be my father. He gave his daughter a fencing blade at 5 years old, taught her how to swim with sharks, and gave her her own sense of independence while being incredibly loving and caring for her. I’ll be sure to do the same thing if I ever have a kid.
Ahh, maybe substitute the fencing blade with a walking stick and the sharks with dolphins, otherwise you might get issues with CPS, but the rest is fine and he is a awesome father figure.
Agreed. And the kid playing Pugsley is just the cutest lil guy, but that's a bit of a flaw... I almost can't believe he'd do some of the things Pugsley is known for. He's too precious.
Morticia yes, Gomez no way I hell. Why couldn’t they just find a young actor who looks like Luiz Guzman, instead of putting that exaggerated fake nose and ears on this young actor? That’s probably the only thing about this show that really bugged me.
I'm still not sure how he got away from prosecution when there were witnesses and he stabbed a guy to death. Regardless of the circumstances - self defence etc -, how come there was never a trial and he was only a "suspect"? The mayor covered up the poisoning attempt but how could they cover up the killing itself? Strange storyline.
@@susivarga7303 covering it up prevented the trial. It's not strange at all. You can't put a suspect on trial if there's not enough physical evidence, even if there's a witness.
I'm not sure if you realize that the redhead "plant teacher", Ms. Thornhill, is Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the movie Addams Family Values 30 years ago.
You can be charged with a crime as often as law enforcement wishes to, though it becomes harassment if the DA does not bring it to trial as quickly as possible. Double jeopardy just means that you cannot be tried twice on the same set of charges. Gomez was charged and then the charges dropped so that he never went to trial thirty years ago.
I think it is interesting that you keep referring to the teacher, Miss Thornhill, by the way, but not mentioning that she is played by Christina Ricci (Wednesday from the movies).
They did admit in episode one that they hadn’t seen it in a while. I read somewhere that the casting of Christina Ricci as Ms Thornhill was not originally planned. They actually hired Christina’s Now and Then costar, Thora Birch, for the part and then partway through filming she had to leave for a family emergency. Not sure how true that is, but that is what I read. And what a great idea to bring Christina in!
I think most of you didn’t understand it. Enid IS a werewolf and this is to just bring out her true self. It is NOT to try to change her into something she is not like you are trying to say it is.
What do you mean, "the teacher I can't remember the name of"?! It's Christina Ricci, the one who portraited Wednesday in the 1990s! That's all we need to know. :P (I don't know the name of her character either.😅)
Everyone has their own reactions to things, I guess, but I found it absolutely heartbreaking that Enid’s parents wanted to send her to conversion therapy to change her. Especially given how many conversion camps for queer kids still exist in real life.
The whole Lycanthropy Camp bit is a lot less humorous when you recognize it's an allegory for Conversion Therapy camps parents force their gay children to attend.
The comparison doesn't really work on a serious level anyway though. It is a joke, perhaps unintentionally. The camps the audience is obviously supposed to think about at that part (are they even still a thing nowadays? I've only ever heard of them from a select few movies, most notably But I'm A Cheerleader. I thought they were only actually a thing in like the 1950s or whenever) were all about religious (mostly Christian, I guess) whackadoos rounding up all the suspected gay kids and indoctrinating them NOT to be gay by making them act out cheesy old fashioned expectations of what straight men and women are supposed to be. The concept of these werewolf camps, though, would be more like if gay people were hosting the conversion camps and using them to teach suspected gay kids the "correct" way to be gay. (I get the impression that Enid's distaste is because the camps would enforce certain stereotypes about what a werewolf is supposed to be like (playing hard into all of the aggression / snarling / etc.) when she just wants to figure out how to wolf out on her own terms as the bubbly fun type of wolf that she wants to be. For the gay camp analogy that'd be like a camp that just enforces all the biggest and most blatantly obnoxious stereotypes in how they should always talk / dress / etc.)
Back in episode 4, when the paint started to come down, the camera made it known that Ms Thornhill has just came back from somewhere… how she rushed in
I love y’all’s reactions. You actually do you thinking out loud and on camera. I think knowing what the person is thinking is part of the reaction. And I’ve already seen the show so I’m not here to just watch it again😂 good stuff❤️
One thing that struck me from episode 1 or 2 was the way that the subject of Tyler's mother (the sheriff's wife) was handled. What happened to her? Why won't the sheriff talk about it? I found that very suspicious. What is the sheriff hiding? Tim Burton wouldn't have written that in if it wasn't important.
Goody Addams is definitely in the past. An ancestor to the Addams Family. She survived the burning as shown in Wednesday's vision and eventually killed Crackstone after. The laughing at Lycanthropy conversion camp is really weird but well maybe you really did find it funny that such camp exists in this supernatural world. The guy keeps guessing and keeps getting it wrong. Fun to watch lol.
There actually IS a black chewing gum called Black Jack. It's licorice flavored. Or at least there was. I'm not sure if it's still being produced, but I know that it was at least as recently as the 1990's.
from my understanding, double jeopardy only applies if your are either convicted or proven innocent. if it never went to trial or it was dismissed, it can be re-tried. it can also be retried if the original verdict is deemed illegitimate, if it is proven that evidence was tampered with or something, the original verdict can be thrown out and the person can be put back on trial. but if he was just a suspect and never went to trial, its 'fair game'
Perhaps you guys didn't get the "conversion therapy" point with Enid and her parents. If you look deeper into it, it's actually a rather sad one. Think Mike Pence and conversion therapy.
Black Jack gum black licorice flavored and first American flavored gum and I think first gum offered in a stick form. There is also Black Black chewing gum from Japan which has a strong mint taste.
Double jeopardy is that you cannot be tried for the same crime twice, as long as jeopardy has attached. Not guilty or prosecutorial misconduct mistrial are the most common outcomes that attach jeopardy. The caveat is that you can't be tried twice for the same crime twice by the same sovereign authority. This means that you can be tried twice for the same crime if the crime is also a federal crime. Then you can be tried by the state and even if found not guilty, the federal government can try you for the federal version of the crime.
I think that after her brother died after breaking into Nevermore, then her Mother and her Father died, Garrett’s little sister made it her mission to get into Nevermore. But maybe with no parents or funding behind her and with no supernatural powers, she wasn’t able to do that the normal way…so years later, she got in…wait for it…as a teacher! Miss Thornhill! And then while trying to find a way to find out the secrets of what happened to her brother through other teachers didn’t work, she saw the perfect opportunity to smite the students and teachers who shunned her as a ‘normie’ when Wednesday arrived. Not sure why, but the body count ramped up once Wednesday arrived. Still not sure if all of them are attributed to Ms Thornhill, because it seems more like that goblin creature, but maybe she is commanding him, through some sort of potion? I think it is Tyler.
I have yet to hear you guys recognize the teacher as the Wednesday Addams from the 1991 film. I've been waiting for ya'll to mention it but maybe you haven't picked up on it.
I think it so crazy that a cover up of a murder was uncovered and the mayor gets to keep his job. Shouldn't the sheriff be required to investigate the cover up?
It seems quite coincidental that Morticia also has powers, considering her family name is Frump and married INTO the Addams' (Gomez) name. Being an Addams, shouldn't GOMEZ have inherited the power of Visions....? 🤔
Double jeopardy would only apply if Gomez had gone to trial and the result was an acquittal of the charges. Gomez was cleared of the charges before trial.
Funny watching you guys. You are overthinking it still but are you enjoying the series amongst all the guessing who's who and doing what? 😁 I watched all 8 episodes over a weekend and it is a lot of fun.
I have to confess, I was binging the series and fell asleep through most of this episode. Watching it now, the sheriff making a point that the entire Gates family is gone seems to point to the opposite. So, your theory seems to have some merit, Anthony.

We’re in episode 5 and I find it amusing that they still haven’t recognized Christina Ricci (the 90s Wednesday) as Ms. Thornhill. 😂😂😂
Did they say they saw it? Not everyone did.
@@nancyscogin7549 yes they did I think in ep1. But they admitted it’s been a while since they last saw the first movie. So it’s understandable.
Christina Ricci who plays the plant teacher in this show is the actress who played Wednesday Adam's in the 90's movies.
The tombstone means he was a brother, not that he had a brother.

Oehh.. You're right.. didn't notice that.. Nice easter egg
It’s say the one who was killed was a brother, not that he had a brother. It says son and brother, so what he was to his direct family.
