The week after this came out my mom asked me if i'd seen it. Without being able to get a word in she immediately explained that she watched it in a day and a half and she needed someone to talk about it to. LOL
Condescending smirk? That my friend is the "That's what she said" emoji and is most effectively used after crafting an elegant but punchy innuendo Michael Scott would be proud of. 😏
During filming for this Jenna Ortega wanted to do all her scenes without blinking to really sell the unsettling nature of Wednesday which I think she nails to a tee
I dont now, where every of this "epic" facts about her comes??? no she not improve her dance, and no thats was not her Idea, it was the Directors Idea. Because everbody likes her, (me too) she is not a hero, that can everything. xD
@@jasonstrickland9245 Wednesday won't have a season 2 on Netflix. MGM just got bought by amazon, but Netflix still owns the tv rights i believe, so it's very up in the air.
@john kubus it will be on netflix mgm was bought out during filming of season 1 and netflix bought a multi-season deal so they have the rights still the details of the exact seasons they made a deal for are unclear but I would say around 3 or 4
When you talk about Jenna's ability to stare- she actually worked with Tim to not blink in her scenes. So she is literally staring throughout her scenes.
Inside joke (maybe). Wednesday is at Ophelia Hall. In the 60s series Morticia had a sister named Ophelia who wore all white, had flowers growing out of her hair and had a series of bad relationships
Yay! I love this show and can’t wait to see you guys reactions to it! And yeah: pretty much everything cool Wednesday does in the show was performed by the actress herself. Talk about dedication!
Yes!!! Honestly, after I watched this show (loved it btw) one of the first thoughts that went through my head was this seems like the type of show that'd be really fun to watch pReview'd react to. Genuinely excited for this!
Gotta admit, the only reason I started watching Wednesday was because you guys are doing a reaction to it. I'm not watching any of the shows currently on your reaction slate (Willow and Bad Batch) and I've got to say I've sorta missed seeing you guys from week to week so when you started reacting to this, I figured "ehh guess I could give this a try". I am SO glad I did! Thanks guys!
Such an excellent show. As an introvert who really doesn't like most of humanity's weird rituals and constant powerplays about the pettiest of things, Wednesday really struck a cord with me. Her deadpan humor and her observations are just hilarious and so spot on. Visually the show is also absolutely stunning. Absolutely loved it and can't wait for more.
I literally just came to your channel to see if you'd reacted to Wednesday yet, talk about perfect timing!! I can't wait to see your reactions throughout the season, I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did!!
I'm sooo glad you're watching this show. Can't wait for your reaction! This, Cobra Kai and The Sandman were my favorite shows of 2022. I'm still a bit sad that you didn't do The Sandman.
You had me 😂 at the "big ol' fiddle" stuff. My cousin's daughter has been playing viola a couple years & this Christmas got a cello so she could start learning that too. It's just a kid's beginner one, not fancy & super expensive like instruments can get but it sounds nice & even came in her favorite color (purple) so she loves it.
I watched Wednesday as soon as it dropped. When I finished the next day, I told my 74 YO mom she'd love it. She hasn't stopped playing it since! I can't tell you how often I hear it on the TV. LOL. It's such a good, fun show.
I don’t think many people comprehend how hard it is to act all the lines without blinking and occasionally in the wind! Playing Wednesday is a challenging role!
Yay! So happy you are reacting to this. It is always such a delight to watch your reactions. Looking forward to your thoughts and insights. Congratulations on your new baby! Loved the shoutout to Late to the Party. Lol😁😁
Ahh, so glad you guys are doing this show! I hope it hasn't been so hyped up now that it can't live up to it 😆 Can't wait to see the rest of the reactions!
YES YES YES YES! I ALREADY LOVED YOU GUYS WITH HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, BUT THIS! THIS MAKES ME LOVE YOU EVEN 1000 TIMES MORE! LET'S SING IT, 🎵"IT'S JAY!...AND ADAM!, IT'S.....PREVIEW'D!" 🎵
*Addams* *Family* *vs.* *The* *Munsters* I grew up with The Munsters that came from the 1960s. And then watched The Munsters Today during the 1980s. The Munsters is written more like a typical sitcom. More slapstick. Herman is like Homer Simpson. Fred Gwynne was my fav. Love the Herman Munster laugh. He was such a klutz but a loveable klutz. Grandpa Munster was always so endearing. The Addams is written more with satire. While the Munsters consist of Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, and Werewolf, the more morbid and psychotic family are the Addams. Wednesday was trained as a child to swim next to sharks. I wasn't aware of the 1930s comic strip and 1960s sitcom of the Addams Family. I wasn't aware of this franchise until the 1991 and 1993 films which I saw with my family in the theater. Then the theme song with the snapping fingers got stuck in my head. If I had to choose which is the better IP, it's the Addams. While the Munsters had the better intro song, the Addams have the more interesting characters. Gomez < Herman Morticia > Lily Wednesday > Eddie Pugsley < Eddie Grandma Addams < Grandpa Munster Any Addams > Marilyn The Addams still have Thing, Uncle Fester, Lurch, and Cousin Itt. But I still love me The Munsters although I didn't watch that Rob Zombie film from last year because the trailer looked gawd awful. The Addams is the better franchise because it has the more interesting characters and that's why it has more revivals. Can I love both The Addams Family and The Munsters? Yes I can and yes I will. People may think I'm hating on Christina Ricci if I say Jenna Ortega is a better Wednesday. I'm not. I love Christina Ricci! Had a crush on her for 30 years. We're close to the same age born in the same year (1980) and so many of my classmates had the hots for her when we were still in middle school. Yeah, she has a big forehead like Mena Suvari but we don't care! I'll always idolize her. Christina was hot af when she was in Black Snake Moan. She's the reason why I love Wednesday. I just think Jenna did it better because Lisa Loring and Christina Ricci portrayed younger versions of Wednesday because they were still very young. Lisa was 6. Christina was 10 when she filmed the 1991 film. Jenna did it better being she's 20 and she portrayed it in a way by not trying to rip-off Christina's. I'm aware Luis Guzman isn't a popular casting choice, but in the comic strip, he is supposed to be short and pudgy. I guess Raul Julia portrayed Gomez with so much charisma, it's hard to look at Luis Guzman the same way thinking Catherine Zeta-Jones' Morticia fell for this guy. I'm not a fan of Luis Guzman as Gomez either but I can live with it. Guzman felt miscast in The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) too but Luis must have a great agent if he can land roles for Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Traffic. I think Johnny Depp, Oscar Isaac, or Pedro Pascal would've portrayed a better Gomez. Could've aged up the latter two but I guess Tim Burton wanted more comic accuracy. Catherine is actually Welsh but she can portray Latina as seen in Zorro. The 1960s Gomez, John Astin, is still alive, BTW. One of Sean Astin's dads. Hence, why Sean did such a great job as Bob in Stranger Things S2. A tribute to all the dads he's close with. Sean Astin is like the best son you can ever have if he's close with the 3 men he considers his dads. So understanding and caring like Bob. His mother, Patty Duke, must be smiling from above. Ranking My Favorite Characters 1. Wednesday Addams 2. Herman Munster 3. Thing 4. Morticia Addams 5. Grandpa Munster 6. Lily Munster 7. Gomez Addams 8. Uncle Fester 9. Eddie Munster 10. Cousin Itt 11. Lurch 12. Grandma Addams 13. Marilyn Munster 1990s vs. 2020s Cast Raul Julia > Luis Guzman Anjelica Huston > Catherine Zeta-Jones Christina Ricci < Jenna Ortega Christopher Lloyd > Fred Armisen Thing < Thing TBH, I think Fred Armisen had a better Uncle Fester. I thought Christopher Lloyd's was a little too much. Remember, he had amnesia for most of that first film and was brainwashed. Fred's version showed more emotion. But I'll still have Christopher slightly ahead because we only got 1 episode from Fred. My apologies to Jackie Coogan who portrayed the crying child in The Kid (1921) with Charlie Chaplin. It's only 1990s vs. 2020s since I didn't really watch the 1960s Addams Family. Favorite Actor For Each Character Gomez Addams: Raul Julia (1990s) Morticia Addams: Anjelica Huston (1990s) Wednesday Addams: Jenna Ortega (2020s) Pugley Addams: Jimmy Workman (1990s) Uncle Fester: Christopher Lloyd (1990s) but barely Grandma Addams: Wasn't shown in the new series. Lurch, Cousin Itt, and Thing I won't rank but I will say the Netflix version of Thing is the best one yet. So helpful to Wednesday and actually quite caring and thoughtful. Wanted Wednesday to have a surprise happy birthday. This is just a hand who can't speak and he's a better character than most characters in that school. And I do refer to Thing as a he/him since that's a male's hand. With Pugley, I've always felt indifferent. He's just there the way Marilyn Munster was just there. I went with the 90s Pugley actor for all the hijinks he did. The 2022 version was just kinda meh. Morticia and Wednesday have always been the most interesting ones for me. Christina Ricci even dressed up as Morticia. I thought their strained relationship in Wednesday was interesting. I like Lily Munster too and the character, Sindel, in Mortal Kombat 3 got inspiration from the Bride of Frankenstein and the Bride with White Hair, but Morticia just has this cool goth mom swag. Anjelica Huston portrayed Morticia to perfection. Shame she got old and fat like Kathleen Turner and Kelly McGillis. Since Anjelica did The Witches (1990), she was perfect to portray Morticia. I do hope she makes a cameo in Season 2. Yvonne De Carlo, OG Lily Munster, was a very beautiful woman. Same with Carolyn Jones, OG Morticia, whom the 64-year-old Lisa Loring (OG Wednesday) is starting to look like. Lily Munster, Morticia Addams, and Elvira are my OG Goth Queens. For The Munsters, it's pretty much every actor from the 1960s sitcom is my favorite. I don't recall too much from The Munsters Today and never watched the late-90s TV revival of The Addams Family. Jenna Ortega's Wednesday is the G.O.A.T Addams. She took Wednesday to another level that I'm not sure will be surpassed in 30 years. She's a superhero/super agent like a Black Widow and she's an experienced archer/sharpshooter like Kate Bishop. She builds contraptions. She's multilingual. She's a cellist and author. She fights for the underdogs and outcasts. She's a badass. She's the G.O.A.T.
I am so looking forward to listening to this. I love listening to your videos during my day, but the playlist has to reach it but clicking the video and commenting earlier I believe helps the algorithm.
I'm so happy you guys are covering this. There were a couple of episodes where I was borderline on the series but then something great would pick it up and by the end, I just couldn't stop watching. The closest I got to a binge-watch in a very long time. Having Thing as a major character is the masterstroke. The second best Addams character after Wednesday. Yes, Jenny Ortega totally got the role because she could stare at Tim Burton so well.
I agree with you on the Burton statement. This show was not written by him at all, he only directs the first four episodes, also there was a partnership with a casting agent (required by Netflix). The last 4 episodes he is only a co-producer of. I am going to enjoy watching this with you guys, at this point I think that monster is the guy from those Honeycomb Cereal Commercials. He’s pissed and wants his cereal. 😂
The best cello joke in a movie was in a western. The sheriff walks in on a performance by a cellist and a beautiful singer. He is immediately outraged and draws his gun on the cellist. ‘’Take that big fiddle out from between your legs and put it on your chin and play it proper.”
One of my fave things, has to be the fact that Thing was performed by a person, A magician from Romania, where they were filming, apologise, his name escapes my mind. I'm just as impressed at the fact that at the young age of 20, Jenna Ortega learned 5 new skills, fencing, dancing, high German Kung Fu and the Cello.
This show needs a 2nd season IMMEDIATELY!!!! I was having so much fun from start to finish because it's the addams family under tim "crazy" burton, how can anyone mess that up?
GASP Adam you're from Northern VA too?! AYYYY!!! Anyway I'm sure you guys are gonna like this show but also PLEASE avoid the comments in case of spoilers because I'm DYING to watch your genuine reactions!
Also there's always very random supernatural stuff in the two movies , morticia and her mom or grandma were some kind of witches , and pugsley is basically invincible and gomez has almost domino level luck
The week after this came out my mom asked me if i'd seen it. Without being able to get a word in she immediately explained that she watched it in a day and a half and she needed someone to talk about it to. LOL
My dad did the same exact thing with me!! 😂 Lol
The show that almost every "main" reactor completely ignored and everyone is late to the party on. Welcome to the Party pals!!!
Yep Rejects only started a few days ago Blind wave are starting it in a few days this show has been SLEPT on it was so good
I know. It's been hilarious seeing the rush of reactors now jumping on the old band waggon. lol
And I was finished on the first day in 8 hours. 🤣
There's no such thing as main reaction channels. There's only what you watch and don't watch.
Yeah, I went to all my usual chanels and NO ONE had this in the docket. Why was that?
Adam (as a cellist) trying to hold back from strangling Jay as he made his fiddle jokes were crazy to watch.
As a musician it was super cringe 😂
Lol
Condescending smirk? That my friend is the "That's what she said" emoji and is most effectively used after crafting an elegant but punchy innuendo Michael Scott would be proud of. 😏

Well played with the Late to the Party gag. Well played.

The Addams Family is just so globally adored, added to Jenna Ortega's ever increasing star power, there was no way this show was gonna fail!
I was sold on her after the most subtle change in expression when the therapist brought up her writing
I thought it sucked
You mean stare power? 😁

The best cello joke in a movie was in a western. The sheriff walks in on a performance by a cellist and a beautiful singer. He is immediately outraged and draws his gun on the cellist. ‘’Take that big fiddle out from between your legs and put it on your chin and play it proper.”
The fact that people were writing on other channels' videos that you guys should react to this show is the wildest thing I've heard on RUclips.
Thanks for reacting, I'm sure you're going to love it fully 💜💜
You guys will love the series i didn’t expect it to be this good but it’s honestly a total treat.
So glad to see you guys reacting to this series! Yay!
Ayyy! Loved this show excited to watch you guys reactions
So happy you guys are reacting to this!
Interesting fact, the show was filmed in Romania's Carpathian Mountains, just outside of, no joke, Transylvania!
Both of your reactions to Wednesday's drip coffee comment had me cry-laughing!!!
OMG! I've been hoping you guys would review this one! Yay!!

Really glad you guys are doing this one!
Can't wait for the Rave'N episode.
"STRUT THAT RUNWAY GOTHIC MAMA!"
Also there's always very random supernatural stuff in the two movies , morticia and her mom or grandma were some kind of witches , and pugsley is basically invincible and gomez has almost domino level luck
I caught my dad watching it. And he was paying attention. He usually watches tv while watching vids on his phone.
let's go!!!! this series is so worth it i promise!
YESSSSS THIS WAS WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR
