This show was so refreshing and such a fun little streaming binge. It was much better than I expected it to be from hearing about it and the trailers….but also better than I expected it to be after watching the first 2 episodes. The cast of characters, the acting, the directing/cinematography, the love shown towards past iterations material of The Adam’s Family, the nods and Easter eggs, and some of the writing all are way better than I ever would have expected. Plus it being set up as a magical high school type series I was expecting it to be more of a CW vibe. And it did have moments that felt like it was in that realm but the majority of it is way better than it has any right to be.
Honestly, I’d be really into the show if they got rid of the love triangle. Both of the love interest were kinda mid and just not worthy of our dark queen lol the romance felt forced/CW

Wednesday was actually good ngl. LOT"S OF SUSPENSE. Also I feel like there was some Harry Potter shit going on but yeah, I loved the series. Jenna Ortega portrays Wednesday really well and I love how they brought Christina Ricci. I was expecting Gomez to look different than what I had in my head but it's fine. No spoilers but just wait until you get to the dance scene(you might have already heard of it) but it's so damn good. Tim Burton, LEGEND. Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas are classics. FUNNY HOW YOU GUYS ARE REACTING TO WEDNESDAY ON WEDNESDAY lol. Tradition right there. Great reaction guys like always!!!!!
I like the style of Tim Burton's films, the mix of humor/horror captivates me, there was no other work more appropriate for him to make a series of. For those who know the Addams Family, you can better understand the nuances of the series and the characters.

I'm with Blake about the fight coreography lol it was pretty solid. :) I thought it was a fun show I really enjoyed it, and Jenna killed it. My thoughts after the 1st episode were something like this: - really like the artistic choices they made with some of the scene compositions and camera angles. Tim Burton knows his shit no doubt - that rendition of Paint it Black was outstanding - Gwendoline Christie is absolutely stunning and she is a really good actress - Catherine Zeta Jones is gorgeous no matter what makeup she wears I was also surprised how quickly I was able to fall in love with a hand but then I met my wife and she did things that really opened my eyes lol :)
Since you guys liked La Llorona the movie so much, I was wondering whether you noticed the song La Llorona playing from 16:19. The artist is Chavela Vargas. There are plenty of versions out there, by Vargas herself as well as other artists, but Vargas is my favourite. It's a Mexican folk song derived from the legend.

The show was a good adaptation and it was good to see Christina Ricci (original Wednesday)come back. However, it is good as far as tv shows but doesn’t hold a candle to the movies esp part 2. Debbie and Wednesday carried that movie on their backs
Ricci was excellent as Wednesday (and perhaps the first to capture the malevolence of the character from Charles Addams’ original Addams Family cartoons published in the New Yorker), but she was hardly the original. Lisa Loring originated the role in the 1960s TV show and films and Cindy Henderson voiced her in the 1970s animated series. Jenna is the 7th to portray her as an actress and the 10th overall including voice actors.
Oh, well now Blake has to react (along with the rest of you) to the two Addams Family movies from the early 90s, The Addams Family and The Addams Family Values. I mean, absolute classics. It's also one of those rare instances where the sequel is better than the original.
Random but the OG Gomez- who is actually no longer with us- is the real life dad of Sean Astin ( LOTR Sam). And yes- Christina Ricci was Wednesday in the movies.
I remember seeing Jenna Ortega on Disney Channel and then seeing her in the series “YOU” years later and I thought she was a very good actress. Of course I still think she is an incredible actress and I was excited when I saw that she was going to be in the future Scream films. I haven’t watched the movie X which I know she’s in but when I saw the trailer it had stuff that I would rather not see 😂. In 2022 when they released the teaser for this show (5 months before it came out) showing what she would look like as Wednesday with Thing on her shoulder I already knew that I was gonna watch it even though I had never watched “The Addams Family” still to this day, and I am glad that this became one of my favorite shows to watch! I am excited for season 2 🙏🏾!
After the Wednesday series, if you guys want to see more Addams family stuff...I highly recommend watching the Addams Family movie and the Addams Family Values movie. 😘👌

Enid is me I have her energy and bubbliness Wednesday was my cousin and God do I miss my cousin she passed away it’s been 1yr but our personalities were like there’s we were opposites but yet got along and loved each other no matter what we were the outcast in our family black sheep she never got to finish this show but it was one of her favs that she seen on Netflix in awhile y’all are gonna love it I will power through just because y’all are awesome I’m just not promising I might shed a tear considering Wednesday reminds me of my cousin to much also she loves Tim Burton movies and shows so I got into his stuff and became a huge fan of his as well honestly would love to see Tim Burton and Stephen king come together and make something but that’s just a dream hope y’all enjoy the journey of Wednesday adams🫶🏽🍿🙏
