Nicely done Craig, this was the most enjoyable video to watch in quite awhile. Keep up the good work & best of luck with your move. Been there, done that.
You need to pick up one of the cheap tire machines (ie Mayflower. I have XK). I picked one up for my garage and have already changed out about 5 cars worth in a couple of months. Totally worth it to not have to deal with tire shops anymore!
Had 95 tsi AWD best car ever. Bought son 1991 tsi AWD on ebay and flew to Chicago and drove it to Colorado. Love these cars affordable for average guy back in the day.
I sold three of these cars at South Motors Nissan, and I loved them so much! I was so jealous I couldn't keep them as my own. They drop the rear on launch, but the hair blowers make these so much fun! It's not the fastest but definitely they are so much fun!
Had the exact same car finally sold it to a kid in high school. Him and his dad took it on a test drive for three hours on a Friday. I reminded the dad that the car was pretty peppy. They bought it anyways. Car was totaled on Monday.😢
Craig I do appreciate enthusiast builds. People like what they like. Not everything needs to be a hypercar super exotic. Just comes down to passion. Sticking to things you enjoy, is unique to you and that’s why I’m here.
Back in 1993 my manager at work bought a 1990 Talon. It was a purplish colour, i forget the name of it. Her mechanic inspected it after purchase and said the timing belt was on the way out. Dealer changed the belt. Next day she was stuck on the side of the road, belt jumped and broke the valves. Ouch!! She finally got it running right at least.
Absolutely love these cars, had a few growing up same red color. Would love to own another one if financially it was possible, would be a perfect project for my son and I as he also has a huge interest in the JDM car scene!!!!
My brother had the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX which is the Japanese version of the Eagle Talon TSI both cars are AWD. His timing belt broke at 62,000 miles on the highway taking out the engine. That was the end of that car but I'll bet somebody got a new engine to get it back on the road again.
Craig first I am glad you're moving to Flotida. Did that in 2018 from upstate NY. I am amazed that you and your brother are involved in the car business. You said your parents were teachers. Who inspired you and your brother?
This was the collaboration with Mitsubishi called diamond star motors which incorporated the Eagle Talon Mitsubishi Eclipse and Plymouth Laser. They came all different variations including Awd turbos and 5 speeds. They were very fun cars and you saw so many of them on the road.
@@andydhillon1977 mostly us techs laughing every time a tow truck brings in a AWD with only the front wheels in the air. I can’t tell you how many transfer cases we replaced. Parts kept many in stock.
@ko9446 Ah, I assumed you meant the front wheels were in the air due to transfer case failure and for the reason to be towed. Were the tow truck companies financially responsible for the damage they caused?
Nice!!! i have a dark blue 1991 eagle talon non tubo with the 4g63 manual (same as your's) and i love It!!! now him changing clutch but is running great!
This one is going to hurt! I bought a 92 Plymouth Laser RS AWD Turbo Automatic for 1k it kept popping head gaskets so I junked it and 15 years later I'm regretting the hell out of it!
I remember those. One of my buddies had one. Reason why I remember that car was because for a while he kept getting sick while driving it. Like, he'd have to stop, get out, and vomit sick. One day we were looking at his car to do something, can't remember what, when we found out what was making him sick. His exhaust manifold had cracked and he had "fixed" it with JBWeld. Turned out that JBWeld wasn't made for high temperatures, especially exhaust on an engine with forced induction (it had a turbo), and the JBWeld had actually begun to boil. When I say boil, I mean you could see vapor rising up off the "repair". That's what was making him sick. He was literally aspirating vaporized JBWeld when driving.
I had a 90 Eagle Talon TSI AWD 5 SPEED that had some major mods done to it but I kept blowing difs and transfer cases I ended up going through every scrap yard parts in my area at the time so it ended up being parked up on the hillside after I blew the trans apart so after about 2 years of sitting I sold it to a guy that never got it back on the road because he couldn't find a trans for it but that car was stupid fast in the 1/4 mile.
I never understood why so many people buy so many junked vehicles at one time and barely getting them restored or giving up during the rebuild process. Like what is the point in doing that? If you can't or plan on finishing it then don't accept it or do it. 😂
I'm guilty of this. Many of us have cars we loved as children and want them. The idea of spending time restoring them is exciting. Then life gets in the way. Craig has even more responsibilities than most people.

His SCCA entry broke on the parade lap, and after that he screams GTFOOTW at me in Pit Lane, my 1st time ever in the Pits, as guest of Merkur, being top NE salesman. Mr Sausage, Mr. Sindoni himself bought a Scorpio from me. Some sales you never forget, and others you wished you could, lol.
Hey Craig. Ever consider a second channel devoted to your, "enthusiast", project cars? An interested follower could go there and truly enjoy the content. Others who want the buying at auction, repairing and flipping could stay on this channel. Seems to me that your followers are split about 50/50. I think that your subscriber base would grow with that change. I, for one, would subscribe if I new what I was subscribing to. I'm not yet a subscriber because your content is all over the place.
