    MTA Also purchased 92 MCI D45 CRTs and 5 MCI D45 CRT CHARGE Buses, all of these buses are purchased without competitive bidding, just like those 5 Solaris Urbino NAe40 buses from Poland. The CRTs are expected to retire the D4500CTs and a few 2011 Prevosts from NYCTA.

    Glad I am of use for these update videos. Given some recent developments, once the MTA Bus 40-foot Diesel orders are done, it would be an end-of-an-era as these would be the last fleet of 40-foot Diesel's to be introduced to service.

      Definitely, the information you provide is greatly appreciated. Stunning to see the conclusion of what has essentially become a tradition for the MTA: Ordering Diesel Novas and New Flyers together throughout the years (2011, 2015, 2019, 2022, and present). It feels like each bus iteration has built up to the current moment of deliveries for MTA Bus

    Goodnight sir and Thank-you once again for giving us another great video from next stop news. The Orion VII O.G and Next-Gens Hybrids. Really had big shoes to fill . When they Had came in to brand new to MTA Bus. MTA Bus Company was new also to begin sir. Not to get of topic sir. But the Orion VII O.G and Next-Gens had replaced the majority of MTA Bus Local Bus fleet GMC RTS and yes most of them where still in there original Private Bus Operators color paint. Sir The MCI Classic the ones with two doors and TMC RTS series. I am still surprised that the Orion VII O.G and Next-Gens Hybrids lasted as long as they did sir. Especially when they came to MTA Bus brand new. From 2006-2007 to 2021 to 2024 and the Next-Gens from 2008-untill the present sir. Thank-you once again for this video sir.

      @@MagicMike-rd8mz Good night, thanks for watching! It is my pleasure to make these videos. Indeed the Orions did, and although in my opinion, the Hybrids couldn’t fully live up to their predecessors, they definitely created a unique legacy of their own. It is very likely that the Old Gens and Hawkers would have been retired much quicker had the NYCT orders not been as delayed, as it would have allowed Lithiums to transfer out much quicker. The goal of fully killing Old Gens with ex-NYCT NGs was really only fully met at LaGuardia. Also, the MTA BC orders faced some delays also, but not as badly as the NYCT orders did.

      IIRC, The 2006-2007 Orion 7.501 OG Hybrids (#3500-3783, ordered along side #6690-6905), replaced the ex-PBL 1984-86 GMC RTS 04s, transit spec'd 1988-89 MCI Classics, the 1993-94 TMC CNG RTS O6s, many of the worst 1993-94 TMC RTS O6s (Diesels) and some Ex NYCTA 1990-1991 TMC RTS 06s (#8000-8396, repowered units) and 1993 Orion 5.501 Diesels (#101-316). The NG Hybrids replaced the rest of the TMCs and earlier Orion 5s.

    cp holds onto three main units, being 4119, 4278, 4601. on some afternoons laguardia sends two or more next gens but never just one and then they go back the next day like jfk loaning for spring creek but it just happened yesterday so you couldn't fit it in. i always wonder why laguardia never sends xd40s cause they're both new flyers, and maybe a weird suggestion, let baisley do the q65 school tripper to goethals

      That is a good point. LGA used to send the 2015 XD40s to College Point, but now they simply don't do so anymore. It's weird how 4119 is commonly at CP, given how it has all those LGA stickers lmao.

    I don't really get the difference between the LFS coneheads. But I don't really know the reason why LFS were removed from Ulmer Park years ago or even no LFS in the Brooklyn depots. What I thought was the capacity or turning since the front of the buses stick out.

    • @Techno-ov5ss
      @Techno-ov5ss  Месяц назад

      I'm not sure of the official reason, but it definitely helped for fleet uniformity.
      The Order I and II Coneheads are identical, and nearly identical to the NYCT Coneheads despite for some minor adjustments. However, the main differences that set them apart from the 2019 LFSs are the HVAC unit and the backdoor width

    • @dodge1515

    Now that Congestion Pricing is paused, what is going to happen now with the ex-NJ Transit 2008-2009 MCI’s that the MTA recently purchased? I am referring to the units that MCI built for the MTA back in 2008-2009 and were supposed to be numbered as 2251-2268. I heard that 2200 ex-NJ Transit 7106 has been officially repainted into the “Blue and White Livery” on May 14th, 2024. And not only that, it is also reported that this will be the first time since 2007 that the MTA will be purchasing buses in the “Black-back” since the moment when the Original Generation Orion 7 Hybrid’s were new to MTA Property for both NYCT and MTA Bus Company. I really do hope that those ex-NJ Transit MCI’s can enter service. These buses are supposed to go to Castleton Depot in Staten Island.

    • @Techno-ov5ss
      @Techno-ov5ss  Месяц назад

      I think they'll still enter service, since it is true that some of them have already received their MTA livery, and most if not all of them are on property, waiting for their repaints. They're at Eastchester for storage. Worst case scenario, a few enter service and the rest get scrapped

      @@dodge1515You are wrong in this case. Why? Because someone showed me a picture of 2200 (ex-NJ Transit 7106) already repainted into the “Blue and White Livery” and the bus was in the “Black-back.” It was officially confirmed to be repainted into the MTA Livery on May 14th, 2024. In the beginning, I thought that the rejected units will be repainted into the new “Blue and Gold Livery.” When NJ Transit purchased the rejected D4500CT’s that MCI built for the MTA, all those buses were delivered in the “Black-back.” The only thing that we are willing to know is if the “Rear Destination Sign Panel” will be restored in the back of the bus. The buses came with the “Rear Signs” but were removed a few years later.
