    These videos are invaluable to those who want a germ free clean house. They show what does a good job and what is a waste of money, time and effort. You do the testing, so we don't have to. I appreciate your hard work. Thank you for your videos.

    This video serves as a fantastic control setting for all the rest of the videos on this channel. This could mean that any cleaner that does not perform at the same level as these results is not just bad but actively preventing your attempt at cleaning.

      I agree, this is a nice baseline so we can see when I test a spray product and use a papertowel to wipe, the papertowel isn't having a large impact! Thanks for watching!

    This was so interesting! I was taught in my microbiology class that scubbing when cleaning will rip holes in the cell membranes of germs, spilling their 'guts' out. lol It did kinda work but I think a little bleach is the way to go. So glad you're doing these experiments for us!

    I have always wondered about difference between hand washing dirty dishes and using a dishwasher.
    I grew up only handwashing piles of dishes. I always wondered how clean was that last pot or plate getting after doing a whole dinners worth of dishes in a sink of soap and water. Now that I have a dishwasher I wonder how clean really are the dishes getting with all that food particles floating/ flying all around.
    Could you rest this.

    What about washing your hands in the sink, does simply using your sink keep it clean?
    What about just flushing the toilet? I know tons of people who think just flushing means the toilet is suddenly bacteria free.

    • @FieldOfFocus
      @FieldOfFocus  6 месяцев назад +1

      I have taken many many swabs of my kitchen and bathroom sink over these past 2 years, and I think it is safe to say that regular daily use of hand washing does not keep the sink clean. As for the toilet bowl I have many videos about before and after cleaning the toilet, and again my before samples usually have a ton of bacteria so in my opinion flushing is not enough. Here is my toilet bowl playlist ruclips.net/p/PL6P5xAP9Rj6KvuUwdimssZK1LgszaZ_fx

    Could you do a vlog style video of how you clean different areas of your home. Cause I’m confused. When I disinfect my bathroom surfaces like counter tops, sinks, shower, should I use a sponge? And if so, aren’t I just spreading bacteria? 😫 I’m moving out on my own for the first time and I want to make sure I’m cleaning the right way lol also I’m curious out of all the product reviews, what products and cleaning utensils you prefer around your home. Thx

    • @FieldOfFocus
      @FieldOfFocus  6 месяцев назад +1

      I will add that idea to my viewer suggestion list. I am making a video about 5 of my favorite cleaning tools for February. I haven't done many vlog style videos but I will consider doing that. For now, when you are cleaning a bathroom use pre-moisten wipes (Lysol, 7th Generation Disinfecting) or a spray with paper towels. The bathroom is one area that I do not use sponges or rags, except for the shower/tub. So for sink and toilet - paper towels and spray or wipes. The shower I use white cotton cloths. The kitchen counters and sink I usually use a spray (Mrs Meyers, or Purell) with a white cotton cloth or Lysol Wipes. Some people like to clean with a soap product like Dr Bronner's, then use a disinfectant or sanitizer. GOOD LUCK!

    Hi! New to your channel. I was wondering if its possible to do the same test but the difference of water temprature. I am curious to see if theres is a difference of using cold or hot water to clean. Technically, most of the bacteria found in sinks (e. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, salmonella, etc) should not survive at 60 if not 70 celcius. That means that if water above the temperature 60/70 degrees C is used on bacteria then a change on before/after should be easily visible when compared to cold water.

    I'd be interested to know if you've not done it already, if you made a bleach spray with water for sterilising if it loses its effectiveness after 1 day, 2 days, 3 days etc to which point the spray is useless. I often make up a spray for cleaning and wondered how soon it becomes ineffective

    • @FieldOfFocus

    I was wondering if those gels that you stick in your toilet bowl actually keep it clean. Or those cleaners that you put in the toilet tank. Do they keep your toilet clean or do they just turn the water blue?

    • @FieldOfFocus
      @FieldOfFocus  6 месяцев назад +2

      I will add those sticky toilet bowl things to my list, I have been curious too. The ones that go in the toilet tank I haven't touched yet because a plumber friend said that they can eat away at the rubber gaskets in the tank... and I don't want any toilet issues!! HA!

      I don't think I've commented about it yet but I've been thinking I'd like a video testing soap and water. Probably wouldn't be my go-to for counters due to the potential mess and the hassle of rinsing but if it works well in plumbing fixtures, theres no sense in using an extra cleaning product.
      Edit: Might be interesting to test boiling water in the sink too. Maybe with a brush rather than a sponge..
