I recently switched from a toilet bowl wand with disposable heads to a silicone toilet brush and I'm really liking it. I love how I can get almost all of the water off with a few taps and that there's no trapped gunk in the bristles. I actually clean my toilet more often because of those reasons. And since there's no water dripping in the holder, it doesn't get all gross and stinky after a while. I use Clorox toilet bowl cleaner currently but going to switch to zep soon. I clean houses for a living and prefer the zep results I've seen at my clients homes.
Yesssss! I truly enjoy having a silicone toilet brush. I got it from Shein. I regret not having silicone brushes in my other bathrooms,. But I'll upgrade it later on
Nice experiment, thx! I simply wash my lettuce in water and spin dry. 'More concerned about pesticides than bacteria. I wash my lemons, limes and berries in a vinegar solution. Lemons used to mold within a few days when stored in a bowl on my kitchen counter. A vinegar wash has fixed this problem. I can easily go a week now with no signs of mold. 'Same with refrigerated berries. I use approximately 1 Tblsp of distilled vinegar per cup of water and soak for at least 5 minutes.
I have bought raspberries and blackberries twice in two weeks. The very next day I have went to use them they are already moldy. I have never had this issue before. Is it safe to clean it and use? I threw them out because I have never had this issue and thought maybe it’s a bad shipment (bought them from the same Walmart).
@@mrs.childers8333not an expert (just an old person). Not safe to wash and consume moldy berries. When you bring berries home look them over and remove any that are moldy or suspicious. Shake container gently to loosen berries, if they are stuck they will spoil. Refrigerate promptly and only wash right before consuming. Plan to eat sooner than later. Hope this helps.
Half a cap of bleach is very effective for removing bacteria from the laundry AS WELL AS the laundry machine. Make sure the bleach is thoroughly mixed with the water before touching the laundry, or you will get bleached spots. It doesn’t matter of course when you’re washing white towels. Detto does a similar job without bleaching. Both very cheap.
I appreciated you acknowledging areas where you arent actually concerned about disinfecting. I love your videos and like knowing which products are disinfecting, but i really only care about it for food surfaces. I mean even human skin has bacteria living on it, so as long as my dishes and kitchen counters/table are clean and everyone cooking is washing their hands, I'm not going to stress about floors or laundry being disinfected.
Thank you! My newest FAVORITE influencer. Soooo thankful your channel came up in my feeds. Thank you for your work!!! So time consuming, I'm sure. You are awesome.
Wow, a lot of work! I been on a similar mission to find the biggest bang for your buck while minimizing toxins. My mom always used to say a little anti-bodies never hurt anyone and "we need our bugs". But times have changed and seems like we have to dodge and dart from the blasts of mysterious chemicals we're getting hit with from every angle. It accumulates for one big pile-on problem for our bodies. We can't seem to get away from them totally, but to minimize seems a necessary worthy goal. I've been slowly starting to feel better. So having your reviews keeping an eye on toxic safety would be great.
I test all sorts of products and try to create playlists to classify them. So you might be interested in the Natural and Less Toxic Cleaners Playlist ruclips.net/p/PL6P5xAP9Rj6IJ5kgLIWGraNHNM-qYFH4B
That’s so real about the toilet bowl tbh, we aren’t licking out of the toilet bowl so it doesn’t matter to me either. My go to choice is the Clorox Scentiva in Coconut and Rainwater
I'm grateful to the algorithm for placing you in my recommendations today! As a nurse, I am newly obsessed with your channel, videos and meticulous processes... :) I did a few searches and have yet to see you use BioKleen's products but I may not be looking in the right spots! In particular I'm interested in the Bac-Out carpet stain & odor remover (for laundry) or the bathroom or multi-surface cleaners. Thank you for your awesome work and responsiveness!
@@FieldOfFocus some channels say to watch their video again. but what's not there, that's in a summary video, are the nuances of between product variability. The tester's final decision weighing all the products as a group. Thank you for being our guinea pig
To mop I use a Stream Mop . No smells and it cleans my floors very good! And I am not over concerned with bacteria in areas. I was taught that some bacteria is very good for us and does not make us sick, If we are too sterile that's when we can get sick. Because our bodys needs the good bacteria. Thank you so very much for all your testing! And I just use Dawn for dishwashing! And rince with cold water becauce your just rinsing off the soap.
I really love the Lysol power foam for bathroom soap scum and any surface cleaning! Smells great out rinses scrubbing bubble and really get the crap off!
Jeez, where to begin? I love to do laundry because now because I don't worry about staining my clothes. Oxygen bleach is like magic! I reference your Laundry Love book all the time. I've gifted your book, oxygen bleach, and horsehair brush to friends and relatives. It's life changing!
Would love for you to test some more Norwex cleaning products - I just watch your enviro cloth video! I would be really curious about their : -laundry detergent (ppp) -enzyme powder dishwasher detergent, -mattress cleaner -fruit and veg cleaner!
I love testing Norwex Products! I have an entire playlist dedicated to Norwex (I will link it below). The only thing that holds me back is the cost. The next thing I want to test is the liquid laundry detergent for a stain video.. .. I will add these to my viewer suggestion list! I never tried or have heard of Bucko until now. My shower is the one I dread most when it comes to cleaning. I'm going to see if I can get a hold of it.❤
I agree about mrs meyers spray cleaner. Its kinda pricey so i only use it for smaller jobs. Washing soda for bigger jobs like floors and walls. Cheap and effective. Arm & hammer powdered laundry soap is also an effective floor cleaner. I make my own glass cleaner: 1 qt water ¼ C vinegar 1 tsp dawn dish liquid.
I haven't tested barbecide, but I have tested vinegar on hard surfaces in this video here: Testing Vinegar! What Removes Bacteria Better:Full Strength, 50/50 Dish Soap or 50/50 Water?? #clean ruclips.net/video/9CKWda1vW5Q/видео.html

❤Thx for all of your work for US!! I Open my NOTES section, start a file on whatever ur subject is, & take notes. 🎉 Makes it so EZ when I make a shopping list.
for cleaning hard wood floors or hard floors serously try using a carpet cleaner!!! you can change out the bristles for another kind or cut them shorter if need ot just remove them but the action of spraying and sucking up the dirty warter works so well and so little is left on the floors i find it is less than any time I have mopped and I kinda like shuflinf around on a towle to add additional cleaning but i find there isnt enough time lol
I use the same two mops- the joymoop I have had over a year - perfect for everyday - my spinmop I use when I do a bi weekly cleaning (all wood floors and O love it for doing the moldings - so easy- I love odoban- have been using for years - had a house fire twenty years ago and that is what they used to remove the soot from the walls and they washed all our clothes in it (cleaners sent from insurance company) use in every wash as my softener - works great =smells great- and we live on a farm- and thank you so much for telling us about Bucko- it is a game changer - have hard water and even with a water softener-my shower doors are always gross- cleaned in one try- and also 7th generation wipes- had knee surgery and was looking for something to just wipe the bathrooms down daily without using a spray- thanks for that review- you do all the hard work for us lol
Would be really great if you took some of your Force of Nature solution, an amount that fits in your fabric softener dispensor, and tests if it removed bacteria from your laundry.
I would also like to see this! I think the Force of Nature website says that it doesn't work in laundry cycles because it's so diluted by the water. It can be sprayed directly on fabrics before washing, though
I use Lysol / Clorox wipes for most things. I like the seventh generation ones too but I can not stand the smell first some reason . For the toilet bowl I usually a fizzing tablet from a plant based company. I let it fizz up and use a toilet wand to scrub. The toilet wand sits in its container with a little bleach solution. The outside I use the chloride wipes. The mirror I just use soap and an old t shirt and elbow grease.
The Method grapefruit wipes are my favorite. Sometimes they're hard to find, so whenever I find them I get a few extra. For hard surface cleaners, Method also makes a grapefruit spray that is really good. I'm surprised that wasn't on the list.
Resolve urine destroyer spray works on furniture and toilet area, douse mist spray and let dry. It needs done again now after one month, but the stench is far milder. Anyhow I did use it on the fabrics on top of eucalyptus odoban spray and plain vinegar when the odor returned.
Thank you for your channel and your great recommendations! I’m happy to hear that some of the products you like to use are also ones I use, too, and I’ll also try some others you suggested! You do a great job!
I will give the Bucks a try. I have a cleaner that does a good job that I bought at a janitorial supply, but I do not feel comfortable about breathing it in. The all purpose cleaner I have used and have found nothing to beat for 30 years now is Red Juice available on Amazon. Doesn’t work on glass, but it works amazing at cleaning anything slightly greasy, doesn’t remove paint, safe in wood finishes, etc. It’s a concentrate, lasts forever, doesn’t irritate my skin, no strong scent. I don’t know and would be interested to know if it removes bacteria. Now that you have shown me what an amazing job hypoochlorous acid does with bacteria, I am going to go ahead and start using Swedish cloths in my bathrooms and feel assured that I can get them clean again (instead of wipes.). Thanks for these eminently useful videos!
According to Ann Louise Gittleman. Author of the book. Guess what came to dinner.( 40 years reseach parasites in humans)She said that lettuce and Straverry have a paradite called toxoplasmoxis very difficult to kill. She talks about letting sock lettuce for 20 minutes with a drop of clorox then rinse many times woth water...however, clorox can deteriorate your microbial.
Diatomaceous earth kills parasites in pets and humans, and it kills bugs. But it won't kill us or our pets ! Just try not to breathe it ,its very fine dust that has sharp exoskeletons that stab and kill parasites inside of the body!
I use it on my toothbrush. I dip my brush in and let stand for five minutes. Then rinse and hang it up in my slotted holder that has UV light. I do this especially if we are all sick. I do each brush individually. Now I'm wondering if it actually works....
One item missing on your tests is the typical Lysol All-Purpose cleaner. The one that is available everywhere (lemon or orange scent) and even Walmart is selling by 3 litters.
Force of Nature is a fav in my house. Did you see they just came out with laundry detergent sheets?! I’m excited to test those out, you should maybe do a quick video trying them out, I’d like to know what you think. ❤
YES! I have used them, and have included them in a few of my videos (link below). They did ask me specifically not to do my bacteria testing on them since they make no claims to remove bacteria. Have you tested hypochlorous acid on surfaces for their antiseptic effect? Another one to test would be chlorine dioxide at various strengths. Briotech makes hypochlorous acid spray. You can make your own with calcium hypochlorite - if you want. I found it tends to be too strong when I make it and I haven't bothered doing the test strips to dilute it down to a usable level.
Here’s all the products they said :) Tub and showers: The Bucko Wipes: Clorox for dinning table, Lysol for bacteria, seventh generation and method for stair railings Toilet bowls: all of them did a great job but their favorite is the Clorox wands for accessibilities, for scent method and myers, pink stuff cause it clings around the toilet Glass cleaners: norwex cloth and jaws Mops: joywoop for floorings that aren’t supposed to be drenched in water and they used it in walkways, ocedar for when they had to get wood chips, concrete and stuff off of their floors and Crossways for their bathroom Mopping solutions: odoban and Mr clean mainly for scents Surface disinfectants, for kitchen sinks, toilet rims etc: force of nature they mainly use it for kitchen and living areas, purell spray they use it for bathroom and myers smells nice and they use it kitchen counters, island and quick wipe downs Fabric sanitizers: odoban Laundry sanitizers: Lysol and odoban
@@FieldOfFocus so I have a very bad case of double pink guy (both my eyes) I love with my grandson and he’s worried about getting it. I want to disinfect surfaces even things like TV, remotes faucet handles stuff that I’m touching that perhaps could potentially give it to him. It says it can last on surfaces for up to two weeks I got a little confused on everything I think for fabrics and laundry. You said Audubon but what about the surfaces and countertops and things like that that I touch that he will touch please?
@@barbsterboo3100can never go wrong with Lysol or bleach mixed with water. You can also use chlorhexadine mixed with water. Just follow directions on how long it has to sit on surface to kill bacteria. Some pink eye is viral not bacterial, but dwell time should be similar. Another thing that works and is cheap is 70% isopropyl alcohol. The 70% dries slower than 90% so kills more. You can add chlorhexadine to laundry too, but hot water and laundry soap should do the drink on its own. You can also add cap of Lysol concentrate (the old red kind)
I tried the Lysol laundry sanitizer, but I have sensitive skin, and it caused me to break out in rashes, even after rinsing twice. I've heard of this happening to others. For my whites, I use bleach, which doesn't affect my skin for some reason, and for colors, I use white vinegar and sometimes baking soda.
I am a caregiver for a person who lives with me. I have to clean up their adult diaper leaks regularly. There really seems to be no way around the leaks because of their mobility. I like lysol laundry sanitizer the best after trying odor ban and Clorox. I was wondering if you tested any of the products that you mentioned for bacteria found in human waste or would it really not matter/your favorites would work fine for most bacteria. I do use pet urine cleaner for some of the accidents because of the enzymes. Have you tried any of those type products?
Looking forward to seeing this video, but I just wanted to comment on your subscribers! Giiiiiirl! You’re SO CLOSE to 10,000! Keep up the great work, my friend!❤

You should see if your kids school would do a cleaning swap/borrow so yoy could try more cleaning products without having to worry about using everything up. And about products being tossed that otherwise might have not been use like the fabuloso for the scent.
@@FieldOfFocusMy friends and I swap products we don't love so we can save some money. I was just suggesting in case you wanted to try other things that people find popular but not keep them long term due to things like offensive scents, etc.
I retired from working in the microbiology section of a medical testing lab so I find your concept of plating interesting as I have done thousands of them. I'm guessing you use TSA plates for bacteria. My question deals with mold in shower grout. Bleach only kills surface mold - it will come right back. The best I've found is Concrobium but I wish there were other options.
I heard bleach doesn't kill mold best, hydrogen peroxide does. Where I work in a retirement community, we use a HP product to kill mildew and mold in our worse case showers.
This is my favorite video that you’ve done! I’m definitely with you on the Fabuloso! 🤢 Mr. Clean is awesome, and a bit nostalgic for an old lady! 😉 I made a spray with mine for the sink and toilet, and even dump some in the bowl. Nice scent that doesn’t linger. Disagree with Mrs. Meyers. I found it doesn’t rinse off well and it’s overly scented like their hand soap. No thanks. The lavender was positively putrid. Thanks so much for all your effort, you must have the cleanest house on the planet!😂 Have a wonderful day!
We have a septic tank and bacteria is what processes the sewage. It's not actually good to get rid of all of the bacteria in my toilet. That's how I see it. Only the seat and outer surfaces need it. Take care
I feel the same way as you do about the clorox toilet wand (the only one I use) and about the smell of Fabuloso (I can't stand it) now I've been trying to (baby steps) change from harmful chemicals to brands that care about what they put together so I use the 7th Generation wipes and I also love themn(my go to used to e Clorox Scentiva. I've bought the Bucko upon your recommendation 😃 which I appreciate and plan on finishing the bottle of but I find the smell too hard to tolerate but that's a personal thing, right? I appreciate your videos!
Sorry the Bucko smell was too strong for you.. it didn't bother me.. but glad you gave it try! Sounds like you are doing great finding what works in your home!
I don't like Fabuloso either because of the super strong scent, I usually dilute it. The only reason I have to use it is because it's the only cleaner that can remove my dog's horrible urine smell, not even completely but it definitely cleans my grout since the chemical is insanely strong.
Also, our pharmacist friend said you can’t beat 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean surfaces. How about testing it for germs as a toilet/or surface/or floor cleaner? Seems like a quick swipe with alcohol on a paper towel would make a toilet outside clean and a quick rinse after cleaning a floor would make it super clean. Would it be ok to use straight alcohol on a kitchen prep surface??
So I did want to give you an idea. I lived in an apartment where I had a glass shower and it was terrible to clean the glass door in the glass wall. Well, there there are 2 doors that were made in one big wall and in the water in Colorado is very bad with minerals and stuff like that, so I had so and I have a bad back so I can't clean my shower constantly. So I claimed my shower now. I just gonna gross you out 2 times in a year because of my back and the water, I mean, I would use a squeegee on my walls, okay, I would use a squeegee afterwards, but actually cleaning with a product twice in a year and I got this stuff called scrub daddy with the scrub scrubby brush. They're the little scrubby face thing. And it worked really, really well, you wet the wall down, you put it on there, you know, lather it up on there, make sure it's nice and wet and then when you go to wash it off, you gotta rewet it again, but it will scrub off very easily and make the shower look. Like there was never anyone in the shower. It really worked well. Now it leaves a really good scent. It's like a lemon scent. I do like more natural products, but but it works really well for glass shower doors, so if you have any of those in your home, it's wonderful. If you don't, it does work on tile, really well, too to get off. The soap scum or not soapscum, water scum on things also really, really well.
I would like to know the difference between dish detergents. It seems Dawn is always used for many different purposes and other brands aren't. Thank you! 🎉
I can't recall one cleaner that removes all bacteria... what I said in this video is what I use in my home after I use up all the products I purchase for testing.
Late but I have info on this topic. I watched a study on wooden cutting boards used for meat prep & came away with 2 solutions. 1. Meat cutting belongs on plastic for proper cleaning = dish soap & hot water. 2. Cleaning wood requires 2 items for complete cleaning; vinegar removes the grease & fat, followed by Hydrogen Peroxide to kill germs. Previously I had used Bleach but it left some bacteria behind (according to the study) that vinegar, followed by HP did not. Having a spray bottle of vinegar under the sink is super handy, esp w fruit & veg cleaning.
Thank you for your videos! They have been helpful! Two questions for you. Have you tested branch basics? I’ve seen a lot of people using that now. Second, what non toxic cleaning products would you recommend the most?

@@mrs.childers8333not an expert (just an old person). Not safe to wash and consume moldy berries. When you bring berries home look them over and remove any that are moldy or suspicious.
Shake container gently to loosen berries, if they are stuck they will spoil. Refrigerate promptly and only wash right before consuming. Plan to eat sooner than later. Hope this helps.
I love Mrs Meyers too! I like the lemon verbena and lavender scents.
I really like the lemon verbena too!!!
@@Leah20048 yes i had a tea with that, i think.
I haven't tested Bleach in the laundry yet but I have it on my list! Thanks!
The only drawback to bleach is it nullifies the good bacteria in your septic tank if you have one like I do.
I just enjoy testing products!!! Thanks for watching!

Every presentation you make is so interesting!
Thank you for your kind words!
I love the Norwex glass cleaning cloth!
I like mine too!

I'm grateful to the algorithm for placing you in my recommendations today! Great idea! I love a summary video when there are extensive amounts of products used / tested on a channel!

I just went to order some and it is on back order!!!
Sounds good to me!

Would be really great if you took some of your Force of Nature solution, an amount that fits in your fabric softener dispensor, and tests if it removed bacteria from your laundry.
Will add that to my suggestion list. That is a good idea!
Thanks for sharing! I love hearing what people use to clean!
The Method grapefruit wipes are my favorite. Sometimes they're hard to find, so whenever I find them I get a few extra.
For hard surface cleaners, Method also makes a grapefruit spray that is really good. I'm surprised that wasn't on the list.
I do love that scent as well!! I haven't re-purchased it but I do like it!

Interesting! Thank you for watching and commenting! I will add Red Juice to my viewer suggestion list!
Thanks for the info!

@@FieldOfFocus so I have a very bad case of double pink guy (both my eyes) I love with my grandson and he’s worried about getting it. I want to disinfect surfaces even things like TV, remotes faucet handles stuff that I’m touching that perhaps could potentially give it to him.
It says it can last on surfaces for up to two weeks
I got a little confused on everything I think for fabrics and laundry. You said Audubon but what about the surfaces and countertops and things like that that I touch that he will touch please?
God bless you ❤
@@barbsterboo3100can never go wrong with Lysol or bleach mixed with water.
Thanks for sharing that!
I am a caregiver for a person who lives with me. I have to clean up their adult diaper leaks regularly. There really seems to be no way around the leaks because of their mobility.

Mr.

Also, our pharmacist friend said you can’t beat 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean surfaces. How about testing it for germs as a toilet/or surface/or floor cleaner?
That is good to know! Thank you for sharing!

Question for floors, what cleaner would you recommend to remove all bacteria 🦠 while mopping?
I can't recall one cleaner that removes all bacteria... what I said in this video is what I use in my home after I use up all the products I purchase for testing.
Will you please recommend a disinfectant for a wooden cutting board? I’m looking for a disinfectant after cutting pork and other meats. Thank you 🌸
I haven't tested a wooden cutting board after cutting meats yet so I cannot say yet. But I will add it to my viewer suggestion list!
I would consider trying Force of Nature. It's apparently safe to use on baby products and be in mouths, which is not true of all disinfectants
Hate the lingering smells also! Very chemical ! I do like the Downey odor remover in my Landry takes the chemical laundry soap out!!!
YES! I am not a huge fan of lingering scents.. but I tried the Mrs Meyers and I don't mind that one.
