      I would be interested to know if it would fair as well in the rinse cycle if you ran the load with detergent in the wash as many detergents supposedly neutralize the sanitizing properties of the Lysol, and their would likely be a fair bit of detergent left in the load when the rinse cycle runs

    See I don’t have a washer , I share a washer in my apartments. So I don’t have time to presoak. Thanks to this I’ll stick to just adding in my fabric softener slot. Thanks you ! Your amazing for doing this

      Ugh, I hear you. My cousin is going through the same thing. He said enough already! This is enough to have him house-hunting right now. Apart from the machines being a rip-off in his building, he cannot pause the wash cycles, a true luxury when you have your own w/d set in your home.

    I’ve been using this lately in my basic laundry machine that doesn’t have a softener dispenser. I wait until the drum is about half filled during the rinse cycle and let it do its rinse thing.

    I nearly bought this recently because it was on sale, yet when I read the directions it was a hard no for me. The first step was to wear gloves, then you had to use two lids full and the lid is not small, on top of that it was not for those who are sensitive and the label stated that you should ask your doctor before using. I am not comfortable washing my clothing with something that I have to wear gloves and other protective gear when handling, and on top of that I can not ensure that I can properly rinse it out of my clothing.
    When I was originally going to comment here I started to second guess myself as to what I read, as the instructions you were giving were different, and it seemed that everywhere I looked had similar instructions, but I finally found a current label that proven that my memory was indeed correct. I guess they have a pending lawsuit, and/or they realized that they needed to cover their back-ends better, so they updated the instructions. Reading the labels more closely I find that the Lysol Laundry sanitizer is even more scary. It is not even meant for extended use at all.

      hmmm interesting.. My bottle does not have that at all on it. No where on my bottle does it say to wear gloves ... interesting. I wonder why yours says it and mine does not. This is very interesting to me. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I would have worn gloves if that was step 1.

    Why can't it be combined with detergent in detergent dispenser? Is it because of chemical reaction with each other negatively impacts the performance. I'm asking because this would cut out the pre-soak because while it's washing it would get that recommended 15 minutes for Lysol sanitizer.

    • @FieldOfFocus
      @FieldOfFocus  10 месяцев назад

      I am not sure why it cannot be combined.. It says on the label that there are two ways to use it. 1) as a pre-soak and 2) in the rinse cycle. It says on the label "Not intended to be mixed with laundry detergents in the main was compartment." So I tested it in that way. Thanks for watching!

    • @themikeroberts
      @themikeroberts 9 месяцев назад +3

      The disinfectant in Lysol laundry sanitizer is a QAC, which is a cationic surfactant so that conflicts with the ionic surfactant used in laundry detergent.
      So it will have reduced (potentially no) efficacy when it's mixed with detergents.
