I love watching you and your Dad work together. It could be very easy to micromanage everything but you really allowed him to work on an area that he loved. I could feel the joy working together brought.
I agree! I learned as a teen, that if I was already working on a project: my Dad would always join in, when he came home from work. Many a long summer evening we spent together, doing yard chores, in harmony. My Dad was a joiner, not an instigator. Fast forward over 50 yrs, I have a micromanaging neighbor who is always frustrated that I can find helpers, when she can't. We are both single old women with a few acres to care for. The difference is I have friends who work with me & we enjoy our time together. She has workers that she directs & criticizes. Your observation really resonated with me. Letting others do what they enjoy & excel at, keeps the day enjoyable.
Living in a US city where so many people are lolling in the streets with needles or vandalizing public property, every day I look around and think that Americans need to put the emphasis back on family - parents, kids, extended family. This is such a wonderful, non-sanctimonious example of a loving family, doing simple things together, in preparation of a beautiful and doable Thanksgiving feast. Your program is good on so many levels. Elegant and unpretentious. High time for us to sit down, eat a decent meal, with silverware, look each other in the eye and have a chat. Beth, this was very enjoyable video to watch. First, your family is beautiful and nephew Luke is adorable. He reminded me of my boy at that age. Such a talented family. I usually forget about the table decor, but after watching you, I decided the day before bought some edible squashes: pumpkin, butternut squash, acorn squash, and spaghetti squash and decorated my table along with some store bought flowers from Publix (3 bunches/$12: 2 Blue Hydrangeas, 5 green carnations, and 5 yellow flowers). My son loved the corn pudding casserole. Funny, at first the blender would not run, because the frozen corn were so frozen😅. My daughter loves the Gratin Dauphinois. My friend made the Turkey. Thank you for your love-the sharing of knowledge, skill, and talent.
Beth, thanks for sharing your wonderful dad. My dad's only contribution to meals at our house was preparing scrambled eggs and scrambled sausage for breakfast but he had a warm feeling like your dad. This video brought back wonderful memories.

Wow, your lunch buffet looked divine and the table setup was amazing (and my 'inner Monk' salutes you for placing the knifes with the blades the 'right way' for better luck LOL) but most of all, I admire how it all came together as a real family event and how relaxed and calm everyone was - as family gatherings in my family tends to be always a little stressful.
What a joy to watch you and your family work together!! I love seeing the kids participate, they will love and treasure these years forever. I was watching g this with my 2 year old son, and he kept saying “I wanna go to that party” over and over again 😂. I love your Dad. It was lovely to see the whole family help out with the prep. My daughter has been setting our table since she was little, and she absolutely loves to do it. She is also a great sous-chef in the kitchen. We take our time the next day with the clean up.
Your Thanksgiving dinner looked wonderful and you were so lucky to have great weather. We live in Ventura County on a farm so the Santa Ana winds were howling outside on Thursday, that we could not enjoy our patio area this year.

I love that your bring your dad in on videos here and there as it's not only his beautiful talent and energy that I adore, but seeing the family dynamic with the love and support you all share is so heartwarming to me! I always learn a few new tips and tricks from your videos to keep my guests happy and comfortable. Your taste is impeccable to be sure! Your videos are always such a pleasure to watch! I'm still impressed with how hard you worked on your editing skills and learning to create these videos on your own. It's time consuming and a lot of work! It can't have been easy not to compare to the ones that were shot by professionals! So props to you Beth! You've done AMAZING!! Oh Beth, your Dad and family are so sweet! I always say you have the Best ideas. Love how the kids (workforce) and your honorary turkey carver all lended a helping hand. Your Dad is such a gem God love him. You know what works for me I don’t iron my table clothes I spray wrinkle release and just pull a bit and in a few minutes boom no wrinkles. I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome. Enjoy your family time God bless 🙏🏽

Oh Beth you made me hungry for anther turkey dinner. One thing I do to make sure I have enough gravy is to roast some turkey wings the day before. They brown beautifully and make a delicious gravy. BTW, I have the same gravy separator. I love it. Thanks for sharing. Your dad is always adorable 😍😍

Can we say that your nephew Luke can add another teaching Vlog to his resume - teach little ones how to help with a party - just adorbs! Everything looked beautiful, the food incredible - if there was a "I bow to you" emoji I would add it here.

I have a set of that flowered china! I inherited it from my husband’s mother, but a neat story about it was that my grandmother briefly worked for the company that made it. I can’t say that I’ve used it often but I love having it!

I love your Dad. It was lovely to see the whole family help out with the prep. My daughter has been setting our table since she was little, and she absolutely loves to do it. She is also a great sous-chef in the kitchen. We take our time the next day with the clean up.

Your Thanksgiving dinner looked wonderful and you were so lucky to have great weather. We live in Ventura County on a farm so the Santa Ana winds were howling outside on Thursday, that we could not enjoy our patio area this year.
