CANDYMONIUM FULL Review Hersheypark's Newest Roller Coaster

- Опубликовано: 8 июл 2024
- Hersheypark just opened it's newest area of the park Chocolatetown and with that they also opened their 15th roller coaster Candymonium. I got a chance to ride this New hyper coaster on the season pass preview day. In this video I will review the coaster and give my thoughts on if I think it is good or bad and how I think it stacks up against the other Bolliger and Mabillard Hyper coasters. Now the only question is which will be better......I wonder how this will stack up to Kings Island's newest coaster Orion. Thanks so much for watching
Follow me on Instagram at Okaycoasters
Kinda overlooked Candymonium because of Orion, but after seeing the POV, it looks unique and amazing! I love the video and overall footage for this coaster that you have made, keep it up!!!
Thanks !!!!
I still can't believe that knoebels opened a Starbucks before Hershey did.
@Christopher Caserta They have two, maybe three. But what does this have to do with Starbucks?
Lol
except there's a Starbucks at the Tanger Outlets literally .5 a mile from there and over by Houlihans equidistant if not closer .. why rush?
Edwdscissrhnds sss what a fuckin loser eh bud😂😭
Does Starbucks even have any competition in the U.S?

I really like the B&M Hypers its just rare to see one as someone's number 1 overall but they make alot of people's top 10. Nothing wrong with that.

Finally! The quality review we were waiting for!
Thank you !!!! Hope it was ok!
@@Okaycoasters it was outstanding.
Highlights of this ride:
The queue is indoors and not out in the blazing sun
The seats are comfortable
There is nice floater airtime
There is a banked turn after the final brake run.
There is some theming to this ride.
Thanks for putting this review out ASAP! Really appreciate it!
Absolutely! Thank You
Top hyper, bold move, high praise
Oh man it looks so good! ❤️ On another note, you could make a video about anything and make it sound epic! Awesome video, and I hope to get on this sometime soon 🤞
Thanks so much!!!

I would really like to see this channel grow astronomical! For the work, effort and skill that this guy brings to RUclips, nobody deserves it more! Every single video is like a micro documentary! I feel like David Attenborough should be narrating them!
Thank you so much I appreciate that!!!
I gotta tell you, I consider myself an enthusiast, I dont have the means to go all over the country between my work and my family and living in atlanta, I rarely get out of the southeast. I would love to be able to visit Hershey Park, cedar point, magic mountain etc. Since I can't, I use these videos to form the best opinion I can on the coasters I cant get to. When it comes to the RUclips pages that do what you do, its not even close. You make by far the best content and I just want to thank you for giving people like me a chance to see these awesome rides. The passion you have for the coasters translates so well to your audience and I feel like I'm on these rides with you!!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the time you took to let me know that!! I also completely understand how hard it can be at time's to get to different parks. I still haven't got to go out West yet and many trips I take I have to cut riding to the bare minimum in order to have time to get footage. Thanks again!!!
My favorite thing about this review and others that you do is, it’s clear that you actually enjoy and appreciate roller coasters; all of them. There are so many reviews that are filled with nothing but whining, complaining, disdain, and almost loathing. This was honest, and pretty much what I would expect from this ride.
Thank you!! The shots you showed were great. This was tastefully done
Thanks so much for the feedback and the support !!!
Another incredible video with awe inspiring shots, great commentary, and mind blowing editing. I’m serious this dude has to be the best at editing in all of RUclips. Can’t praise you enough, can’t wait for the next video!
Whooops found you
I agree to that though!
Your videos are so touching! I love your videos more than any others!
That coaster visually looks awesome. It’s like a work of art. Also, the videos of this channel are amazing! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it
Good video man... Love that park and as a resident of the 717 when i was kid my first 2 coaster rides were the Super dooper looper and trailblazer... crazy part is they became my 3 sons 1st ever coaster rides as well and we look forward to riding this
Thank you for giving this ride some love. Most people took 1 look at the POV and said it sucks
With any roller coaster a POV will never do any coaster justice of what it actually feels like
Oh man so exciting! Nitro and Mako are two of my favorite hypers and I’m heading to the park this weekend to ride Candymonium! Everyone has only had amazing things to say about it so I’m so curious to see where it falls compared to other B&M hypers!
Nice!!! Yeah I think you will really like this one too!
First of all, awesome quality! Can’t believe this is the first i’ve ever seen of your channel! I rode Candymonium yesterday, I agree that 2nd floater hill is insane! I found the front row better than the back, but I did get stapled on my back ride. Great hyper though, best one i’ve personally done.
Thank you !!!! Yeah I really liked that floater on Candymonium
We just rode for the first time this past weekend and we thought it was AMAZING! Thanks for visiting our town to ride Candymonium!! 🤩
Your video quality is unbelievable, you should be extremely proud of yourself
Thanks so much HersheyAddict!
I got 6 rides on this yesterday. Rides in the front, back and some in the middle. I feel like I can say that it doesn't really matter where you sit on this thing, you will for sure get many seconds of airtime (that first camelback has like 4 seconds). I personally think the front row is the best for this. Another thing I noticed, early in the day the first trims were not used, but got turned on for the last few rides. Even when they were on you still got great floater over that hill. The second trims seemed to be much stronger than the first, but even then there is still some floater over that last hill, and the helix around the fountain deligered good positige Gs. 10/10 ride, this is my new favorite in the park.
Thanks for all the good info!!!
Finally! Someone else who loves that element at 3:39 in your video. Hands down my favorite moment. That’s what I have been telling others on twitter and FB. Great review btw.
Thanks so much! Yeah I really enjoyed that moment!!!
This is a VERY good review of this ride. My son and I got to ride it 6-7 times over the weekend and I really loved it. You’re not kidding when u say that floater airtime felt like it lasted forever! That was my exact experience. The trim brakes hit a little different each time I rode it and I gotta say I almost feel like that’s what caused the extended airtime but what do I know. This might be my fave ride in the park now.
Thanks so much!!!! I sure wish I could have gotten 6 or 7 rides
Hell yeah, I'll subscribe. Probably my favourite coaster reviews
Haha Thank you so much for the support !!!!
I rode it about 15 times and it's my new favorite ride at Hersheypark. B&M did a great job with this one! 👍
“They may not be tallest, fastest, or the most intense”
Fury 325: ....you must think I’m a joke.....
Fury is incredible I was mainly talking about the B&M Hypers
okaycoasters Ooohhhh! Duh, I’m an idiot. Fury is a considered a giga 🤦🏾♂️ My apologies.
To be fair, B&M seems to consider Fury an example of their Hyper Coaster product.
@@donovangionis5383 Fury 325 is a giga coaster not a hyper. It's here in my city Charlotte NC
Apollo Praetorius Fury is the Hyper Coaster model from B&M. Giga is a term created by Cedar Point.
As usual another very well done video!! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much !!!!
The intro is amazing. Great review!!
You're videos are so well done that I wish they were longer. Keep em comin man. 👊
Thank you !!!!
Yes! Was waiting for this review.
Top Notch videos, and presentations. A freaking natural. " AND YOU KNOW THIS MAAANNNN!!! "
your narrations are insane haha i love this. feels like i'm watching a chevy commercial
Oh Wow!!!! Thank you so much !!!!!!!! Really appreciate that
@@Okaycoasters i guess i should've specified i'm talking abt the intro. the rest is normal haha. either way great video
Great shots!
I really like listening to your love for coasters, you can hear it in your voice . Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching !!!
The presentation of this coaster is amazing. After they add the fountain, my goodness. I just put this park on my, I have to visit list.
Oh yeah its gonna look really good when they get that going
Front was amazing! Back row was more amazing! It is intense but not at the same time so it's perfect for anyone. That first hill never ended which was amazing. The drop in the back was insane!!!! I love this ride and it was definitely a perfect fit for Hershey
Awesome video man! I really was super hyped for this.
Thank you so much!!!
I was sad when the intro didn't have you popping into the middle of the O and shouting "OKAY", but then you cheered me up with the content of the video. Every video you release is a love letter to a ride or park and it is amazing! I feel like you could do an effective series on unloved/unknown parks; you could find that ride or coaster or element that is good there and highlight it. Whatever direction you take this channel, I'm sure it will be awesome and I plan to keep watching.
Thank you so much for the nice message and the feedback! I still plan on using that original logo for a long time too! Thanks
Great video and review.
I was there for the preview as well, got a seat in the back row. I put up a review on reddit that mostly echoes you with the most sustained airtime I've experienced on any coaster. The interaction with Spring Creek goes unnoticed by some but is one of my favorite things about the ride. Astounding ride.
I wish so much I would have focused more on that more now that you mention it
Thanks for posting!!!! I’m really looking forward to riding this !!!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching
Another great review! 👍
Btw, you gave me inspiration for the intro to my upcoming fun spot vlog
Nice!!! And Thank You !!!
The intro to this video is dope, gave me chills. The B and M hyper is a legend
Thanks !!!
Great video and review! I'm so happy to have this beautiful coaster at my home park 😄 and yeah sometimes the first trims hit hard, sometimes they don't hit at all. When they don't hit, the speed hill and wave turn are SO GOOD!!!! 😍
Thank you and very good to know! I wish so much I could have got that ride
I've gotten 3 total rides, and my first, which was the first rider day, was absolutely amazing. I did it in the back and was blown away. The other two, which were 3 days later, were also amazing, but the trims after the Hammerhead felt like they were on more.
Visited park on 7/4/20. Good coaster, great airtime, brakes on top of hills!!! Definitely a fun ride!!
I think Candymonium is discounted by a lot of folks, I certainly didn't give it much thought when I heard it announced. Then I watched the POV and man, that coaster looks pretty damn good. Happy for Hersey Park fans!
I am a bit disappointed as I wanted hershey to get a intamin blitz coaster but I haven't ridden a b and m yet so I dont know the quality of there rides so I hope I lives up to the hype
@@jeremyforrest9777 depends on what you like man. Those B&M hypers are usually packed with some great airtime. They're solid, you'll love it. It's a good addition, something they don't really have yet.
I’ve been on it 3 times. Each time I enjoy this coaster more and more. I definitely recommend it later in the day when it’s running better because the sustained airtime is much much better
Why do I love this channel so much
I appreciate it so much!!!
Your editing is insane!!!
Thanks so much !!!
Wow, this was such a well-rounded review! Only ridden one B and M hyper which is Silver Star at Europe Park and I loved it. Hopefully one day I can come across the pond and experience Candymonium for myself.
Thank you and that would be great! Hopefully you get the chance soon
probably the best B&M hyper of all time
Really? I rode it 6 times last visit and I thought it was a good ride, but there are definitely better ones out there.
TripodKat well I’m not a B&M hyper fan anyway
What about shambala
The best floater airtime moment i've ever experienced was the first hill on Shambhala at Port Aventura, another incredible B&M hyper.
the video is just awsome man greetings from ARUBA
Thanks !!!!!!!!
Your videos are fantastic!
Thank you!!!!
I rode this yesterday, row 7 on the blue train, in a mostly full train and the first trim didn’t hit very hard. I would take trims like that over a mid course anyday. The second trim hit harder, but I still got great floater at the end
Not having the MCBR was awesome
Hello Carson
This dude just seems like a nice guy by his reviews. Plus I completely agree with them, earned my sub for sure. 👍
Thank you for the support!!!
The second you brought Mako into it I knew this ride was gonna be something else. Definitely not in a hurry to go to a park right now, but certainly looking forward to my next trip to Hershey whenever that may be.
I think you will really enjoy it! Stay safe
This and comet were my favorite coasters in the park. On comet the ride ops didn’t check stadtbelts so I basically didn’t tighten mine and got MASSIZE EJECTOR
Just tighten the seatbelt in the station and loosen it on the chainlift, or just take it off but remember to put it back on before you get back.
i always take the seatbelt off on all the woodies at hp
Such beautiful footage! Would be great if you could add info about the camera you used in the description. Also a great opportunity to put an affiliate link in there if you're into that.
I’ve gotten 3 rides on Candymonium and I have to say, I really really enjoyed the front more then then back which is VERY odd for me. Candymonium adds such a shock when you enter the park, it’s a fantastic addition to an already stellar lineup! It’s a top tier hyper and that wave turn is EVERYTHING!
I haven’t ridden either, but I think Mako still looks better
i've ridden Mako, i've experienced better B&M hyper drops and he says this one has the best that he's experienced, the best part of Mako is that sustained hill but if this ones more sustained then this is truly something special, and if the wave turn is that sweet then this is definitely the better of the 2
I’ll need to ride both to find out
Mako is great!
That sustained hill on Mako has always been my favorite until Candymonium and that wave turn will not let you down. The air was fun and the size of that support just adds to it. I think you will really like it
@@Okaycoasters yeah you where talking about the wave turn on fury 325 so I knew you would like this one
This is SO dramatic, and I love it. Hahahaha
Awesome vid!!!!! Stay safe from pandemic.
Thank you!!!
I have ridden it and it is my new favorite roller coaster
Its a nice coaster i Love it. and i havnt even rode it. but i would and love it.
Awesome vid!
Thanks!
great content fella
Just rode it today, freaking amazing, the airtime was just excellent. Im not at all a roller coaster person but wow this was amazing.
That’s awesome! Yeah I really enjoyed it too!
I've been on it 5 times now. And let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it looked ehhh online during testing runs. But it's a completely different feel when you're on it. So much airtime, I was out of my seat more than I was in it 😜
I couldn’t agree more! It really suprised me!!!
I rode this today back row with a full train and it was sooo good. Also rode it 3rd row during the pass holders event and it was good, but nothing beats the back row!
I only got that one ride in row 6 but I agree with you that back row is gonna be the best for sure
Looks like a phenomenal ride. She's beautiful
ITS A HE
Perfect timing! I’m on my way to the park now!
Nice! Did you get a chance to ride it?
okaycoasters I did! I agree with you. This and Mako are close but I prefer Candymonium

@@lilianamcelroy3331 how do you like it?

I can't wait to ride this!
Your soo underrated!!
I got 8 rides in last night. Obviously a very re-rideable coaster. I got 2 daylight rides and the rest were night rides. Very solid ride Hershey has!
This coaster was so much fun when i rode it.
I'm literally at the park in line for it now watching this lol. Really excited to see how it is. Also the line is one of those one's that'll trick you.
What did you think?
@@Okaycoasters I got very back row, and it's amazing, the best B&M hyper I've ridden so far!
When I was watching the slowed down clips I was like “I don’t remember it being this slow” but then I realized. I recently went to Hershey last week and this was my first ascent park and I went on wild cat, (the racer one I can’t remember), great bead, suppdooperlooper, wild mouse, and candymonuim and I like that the best. I loved the first dropped and I thought it was a great ride.
I rode it on Wednesday, it definitely was a great ride and an awesome experience!!! It was better than Skyrush, but it wasn't any Fury 325 or Millennium Force, but it was sure a good ride! You just earned a subscriber!!!!!!!
Again with the Millennium Force?!?
@@notapplicableproductions6504 I've never even rode Millennium Force, but I have family who have, and they said it's better. Also I saw the POV's for Millennium Force, and I think it would be better than Candymonium, but Candymonium is an awesome ride, can't lie!!!
great review , i might be a bit biased as i think shambhala at my local park is the best b and m i have ever ridden
Thank you very much! I haven't got a chance to ride that one yet but seems to get great reviews
I’ve ridden Mako and I can’t wait to ride this
My question, Were all teh other rides still open (exept for sky and Storm)? Also, short but sweet vid! Cant wait to hopefully get here with my brothers and sister again!
The day I went Candymonium was the only ride in the park open. Most of the park is open now but Storm Runner is closed for the season
@@Okaycoasters ah, thanks for the info, Heared Sky and Storm wont open cause they cant get the parts they need from intamin, but they can get parts for sky later in the season, but not for storm
I was able to ride Candymonium 5 times and the trim brakes were hitting strong everytime, but the airtime was still pretty solid throughout. I totally agree that the first giant airtime hill is the best! 👍
Thanks for letting me know that......It was very noticeable for me but when I was rewatching all my footage after the Voiceover It seemed like it wasn't always hitting very hard. I Started to get worried it wasn't always the case and I got it wrong.
Rode this last week! I said in my own video that the first drop and the first hill had the best sustained airtime I've ever felt on a B&M hyper. I couldn't believe but I liked this coaster better than Mako! And Mako is an excellent hyper coaster, so it goes to show how much Candymonium improved over it.
And another thing...this may be the first hyper coaster where the front seat may be better than the back. The airtime is stronger in the front, surprisingly.
I really thought so too! I wish I could have got a front row ride
Can you rank all the b&m hypers I just want to see your list.?
Living only 40mins from Hershey. I still would much rather drive the 1hr it takes for me. And go to Knoebels.. (personal preference. I dont want haters bashing me in the comments) I still am waiting for your hole park review on Knoebels, as well as Hershey park. Both are good parks in their own respective ways. Love to hear an outsider's prospective on booths parks
Absolutely cant wait to make that Knoebels video! That is one special park you don't see very often. Im a big fan of both.
I'll be waiting for it. I been goin and camping at Knoebels since I was born with family. It definitely is a special place
Knoebels is just an overrated fair. I've been there once, was repulsed and will never return.
Get this man more subs he disserves it
Between this video and Florida coasters video he went from 6k to 7.5k subs so he's gaining subs quick
At around 2:30, you mentioned you had tickets to get on The coaster. To sit in a certain seat, the blue train. Why? Do you have to have a ticket? Was this media day?
It was not media day but for the first ride event if you had a King size pass.....It was for any row but thats the one they assigned to me right before getting on
Feel so lucky to live in pa lmao. Great adventure 2 hours away hersey 2 and a half. Bushce gardens 5 hours and knobels and all other small parks.
Your right......So many great parks in a close area
Nice video!
Thanks !!!
i want to go to Hershey park to ride this now after seeing this video
I love it I ridden it to day on opening day this was my first b and m hyper now that is my favorite ride at the park and that ridden my rides on it one of 4 rides sat in the front seat it was breathtaking the View and the wind it was fascinating fun fact skyrush was my formerly favorite ride at Hershey but now candy modium took that spot
Dude if we Addne more Super awesome ride. Like a B&M Wing. Or Maybe a Vekoma Bermuda Blitz. It would be hard to Deny that Hershey is the best Park in America. (Also absolutely awesome content, everything about it is superb)
For the people that don't like this coaster, I think they don't understand its purpose. It is meant to be a tame and less exciting hyper because skyrush was way more intense than they wanted.
I agree with your statement and want to add something. SkyRush is a very intense hyper, only really good for the enthusiasts and thrillseekers, CandyMonium is for the general public.
This is off topic but dose anyone know if knobels is getting a b and m hyper, some people where talking about it but I just want to know for sure
I haven't heard anything
@@Okaycoasters okay, thanks for letting me know
So basically just floater airtime?
I sometimes feel Hersheypark missed out on an opportunity to make this a giga coaster. They could've had the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in Pennsylvania.
They legally can’t there is a height limit in pa and hp does not meet the criteria for anything super tall
Criteria listed below:
Hersheypark's height limit is 350ft, but they have to have special permission from the township to build that high. They actually have to get special permission to build from 200ft to 350ft.
This is straight from the 2017 zoning ordinance from Derry Township:
§225-425. Amusement Park Ride Height Exception. Amusement rides located in an amusement, theme or water park may be erected to a maximum height of 350 feet; provided any ride exceeding 200 feet in height meet the following criteria: A. The amusement ride shall be located a minimum of 1/2 of the ride height from property lines adjacent to public streets. 119 B. The applicant shall demonstrate to the Township Zoning Officer’s satisfaction that the ride will comply with A.S.T.M. F770-15, as may be amended, Standard Practice for Ownership, Operation, Maintenance, and Inspection of Amusement Rides and Devices. C. The applicant shall demonstrate to the Township Zoning Officer's satisfaction that the ride will accommodate the retrieval of patrons of the ride in a safe and expedient manner during emergency conditions. D. The applicant shall demonstrate to the Township Zoning Officer's satisfaction that an amusement ride of such a height is an industry normality and is necessary to remain competitive with similar amusement, theme or water parks.
@@knockout1219 yeah and since not all the gp liked skyrush because of intensity hp wanted a graceful crowd pleaser
U probably would have gotten a better ride on it if the social distance wasn’t on overload full trains would u get the full affect of the thrill it’s supposed to provide and the wait for the ride had to be horrendous because of social distance overload in the 90 degree weather.
There’s been little to no wait time for the ride since the park opened.
