The roughest coaster is my emotional roller coaster
Too real
I felt that
Oof
Dang bro sniff
RIP
Me: sees what he has as the most painful intamin
Also Me: *unintelligible screaming*
Skyrush Fanboy exactly. Isn't even bad. Nice name. I agree with that statement
So you want a Shoulder restraint?
Skyrush restraints seriously suck. No, they do not hurt every single time.
My first painful experience started fine. I didn't think anything was wrong at the station. By the time we got to the top of drop hill I knew this was going to be painful. This was at night, so I didn't know when the next turn was coming. Every motion simply increased the pain and reduced my blood flow. When the ride ended I stumbled off the ride because my entire right leg was completely numb.
I am not exaggerating. The ride staff did not blink either, so I believe this is way more common than it should ever be.
@PureAwkwardness No. That would kill the airtime on Skyrush.
cant be worse than goliaths walabi holland megacoaster latbar, its the metal seatbelt latches, inbetween, but the latbar, hydrolic just locks, being pushed cheked at the station by staff.
My niece dragged me on Predator last Sunday (I usually refuse to go on that) only if we rode near the front of the train, and I was surprised how good it ran and actually had airtime on it, also the New section of Titan track was glass smooth! Now if Six Flags does the rest of the coaster with Titan track, it would be a great coaster again.
I must’ve ridden Scream on a real good day. I rode front row and it’s in my top 30. Everybody I talk to seems to hate the ride but I personally thought it was one of the better B&M’s I’ve ridden, especially because of the amazing zero g roll.
I agree. We love scream. I didn't find it rough at all.
Coaster Limits i agree, i ride scream on every visit to six flags and imo it’s getting better every time, it’s very smooth, i love all the b&m’s at magic mountain, but riddler is getting rough, still a good ride though
I would say the most painful ride I’ve been on by B&M is Vortex at Carowinds. That was a god awful ride. I didn’t like Riddler’s Revenge either, but Georgia Scorcher is the best stand up imo.
I found it super smooth. Surprised to see it on here
@@coreygrimes9166 ridder overrated asf ive been on it 3 times its pure trash my legs hurt after riding it and then i cant walk for the rest of the day
I'm glad you mentioned the wooden coasters at Holiday World! They are awesome coasters for a park like that but you will get a little bruised experiencing the fun on a couple of them.
When you ride Hades 360 get the front 2 rows. 3 and 4 are ok. Anything behind that is excruciatingly painful. I rode in row six and was crying afterwards because of how much back pain I had, and I'm a healthy 18 year old. It took me a solid minute to be able to even walk off the platform
I laughed when I saw Steel Eel in the intro! I just rode that a couple days ago and agree with what you said about it -- even though I find the rough valleying to be a bit more bothersome than you seem to. And it seemed to happen after every hill when I rode it! Each time I rode it, though, I rode towards the back, so that very well may have been an influence towards my experience.
The coaster DOES have good airtime, though! That first drop, especially, is surprisingly good!!
I haven't found many others who feel this way, but my most painful experience from B&M is the bottom of pretzel rolls. I love flying coasters in almost every other way, but at the bottom of the pretzel roll I always get this dull pain from getting flattened by the positive Gs.
Vekoma: you now what they say about our coasters
“It’s all fun and pain”
I immediately thought of Taylor getting thrown into the trash can by mr Vekoma lol
@@SkyrushFanboy lmao same
Unless it’s Expedition Everest
@@Howlingburd19 yep
Man, The Legend is so painful that it feels good to me. I literally couldn't breathe towards the end and I wanna do it again lmao.
I got all happy when you mentioned Morgan 🤣 I’m from Minnesota and it’s really cool how their first rollercoaster is Wild Thing in Valleyfair! ❤
My most painful moments:
-marathoning Millennium Force in heavy rain at night. Looked amazing going up the lift hill against the lights of the ride and then it felt like being stung by 1000 bees the rest of the ride. Still did it four times though.
-riding Steel Vengeance behind a lady with really long hair and getting whipped in the face the entire ride
-on the Beast when we entered the last tunnel for the first time and that turn comes, my friend’s head smashed into my shoulder. I now brace myself every time we start tearing down that hill.
I rode Millennium Force in a violent thunderstorm (our train was the last one out) and holy hell did it hurt
I rode I305 in the pouring rain and my face was bright red afterwards, it hurt so freaking bad 😂
Well, some things you do to yourself! You can't go that fast in the rain and not have it hurt! I did one ride like that on Magnum and could barely open my eyes. My most memorable was waiting for first car on Millennium and getting on around sunset when all the Lake Erie bugs start swarming. It wasn't painful...suspiciously so....until we exited the ride and I had to pick numerous pieces of bug guts off my partners face. We went this last weekend and I was SO ok with wearing a mask!
The first time I rode the beast, I was young and probably around 4 foot. I was trying to be brave and hold my hands up when we hit the helixes and I smashed my cheek right into the side of the train and got some light whiplash and a good headache before declaring it THE BEST!
I rode top thrill dragster when it was drizzling, and I regret that. I still don’t know how it was opened during that.
I rode Millennium Force back in 2018, and flew right into a swarm of gnats. I went from screaming "woo hoo" to spitting and gagging.
For Maurer, a very rough back-row ride on Spinball Whizzer; at Alton Towers, on July 3rd, left me with a bit of unexpected pain in my upper-legs and lower-stomach!
okaycoaster + Airtime Thrills for a full video would be the collab of the century

It may just be me because I have a knee that doesn't like to bend too much, but in general the most painful coasters for me are the ones without enough legroom in them. That said, some of the roughest rides I've been on:
- Matterhorn Bobsleds (Disneyland, Arrow): Better than it used to be since it got retracked not too long ago, but it'll still rough you up pretty good.
- Klondike Gold Rusher (Wild Waves, Zamperla): When I looked this one up I thought it was 20 years older than it actually is.
- Cannibal (Lagoon, one-off built in house): Mostly fine, but the Lagoon Roll element caused my knee to cramp up really badly for some reason.
I also rode Manhattan Express a long time ago, but probably suppressed that memory.
Yes I’ve been watching okay coasters. Seriously underrated
I agree that the restraints on Gatekeeper can make it hard to breathe, especially when trying to take a deep breath. Magnum's lap bars were painful on the thighs when going over the bunny hops, though I didn't notice that so much last year when they put extra padding on the bars. The pretzel turn, however, shook my head so much I got a headache. And when I rode the Vortex at Kings Island, going down the first drop my head got slammed into the restraint so hard I had an intermittent headache for the rest of the day, so I don't even remember much else about my visit (other than a vague recollection of riding Son of Beast when it still had the loop). Not surprisingly, I wasn't sad to see Vortex go.
Interesting, Scream at SFMM was very smooth for me when I was there in 2018; really loved that ride for being a parking lot coaster. Figured you might’ve gone with one of the stand-ups as roughest for B&M
Scream can be hit or miss, probably depending on the seat
Nevada resident here, I love that 3 out of our 4 adult coasters in the entire state were on this list 😂
This is what happens when your coaster boom comes in the 90s lol
@@AirtimeThrills lol true but even then, El Loco, our newest coaster (2014) just didn’t really stand a chance compared to other s&s coasters.
If Mean Streak isnt on here as atleast a cliffnote I will riot.
Had a migrane after riding that thing and coasters people call *rough I generally find to be fine.
I definitely think Predator is wayyy worse than Mean Streak. My 2016 Mean Streak ride was bumpy but not painful
I agree spider I live near cedar point and been riding the mean streak since it came out back in the day it was always a bumpy and rough ride
When I heard the music and "Why do we ride roller coasters?" My first thought to respond with is "JUST TO SUFFER????"
“That’s the price you gotta pay for good ejector,” he says right after complaining about how Skyrush’s ejector hurts
The slight discomfort from the RMC OTSR doesnt compare to the thigh crushing
The first rollercoaster I ever rode was the Legand at Holidayworld.... thought I would never want to ride one again until I was drug onto the Raven, thats the one that made me realize my love for rollercoasters.
Also the original Gwazi was a pretty rough GCI before it closed at Busch Gardens Tamp
Scream Machine at Six Flags Georgia, you ain't lying! Most painful coaster I've ever rode, no other comes close to the agony felt on this vintage coaster
Firebird at Six Flags America is B&Ms first coaster and it has some pretty bad head banging. The transition from standup to floorless didn’t help it , unfortunately.. I felt great same way about Rougarou at Cedar Point.
i gotta say, riding outlaw run when it opened was like a dream. but now that more time has passed.. when i went last summer, i got a huge headache from it. it sucks, because that's my home park, and i LOVE outlaw run
Whenever I think of CCI, I think of Excalibur at Funtown Splashtown in Maine. One of the best coasters I've ever been on.
The vortex was so fun when i was a kid. I rode it in high school years ago before they tore it down and it beat the crap out of me. Apparently the ground round it was sinking and it goofed up the track. I remember it being smooth for the longest time.
I don’t know about those boomerangs. Flashback at SFOT used to give me the worst headaches, though admittedly I was younger and shorter when it was still operating. The worst part was there was rarely a line for it, so I was always pressured by my siblings to ride it back to back to back. I haven’t been on it since it was relocated, or any Vekoma Boomerang for that matter so maybe it’s time to give them a new try.
2:35 I rode Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and it was seriously having a bad day with the B&M rattle. It was unbearably shaky. It appears that is not normal for Alpengeist, so I’m going to try riding it again.
4:36 Wildcat is awful, yes. It’s given me a bad impression for wooden coasters, as it’s my first one. I’d love to try others, though.
Alpengeist does have a rattle, but the last bad ride I got on it was years ago. It’s been absolutely hauling recently and pretty smooth compared to how it used to be. My opinion of course though
Magic mountain is the only park where their stand-up is better than their floorless
Ooooh I remember Great American Scream Machine. That one hurt!
The most painful ride I've been on is Creepy Crawler in Oakwood, Wales (the only park I've ever been to). Megafobia may be a bit rough, once slamming me into my restraint at the bottom of the drop (it was painful) but it's still my favourite because it makes up for it with airtime and a layout that's not too overwhelming for me since I'm new to thrill rides . Creepy Crawler, being a Pinfari, has horrendous transitions that demolish my ears and potholes(?) at every other piece of track. I do like the helix on it though, so it's not all bad.
ahhh, my very first ever coaster made this list ;) Great American Scream Machine. Rode once, never again.
So glad to see someone else who doesn’t like scream
I have ridden alot of rides but for some weird reason I always feel sick after riding scream.
Top 5 Most Painful Schwarzkopfs:
1 Mindbender at Over Georgia
2 Mind Bender at Over Georgia
3 Mindbender at SixFlags
4 The worst coaster at over georgia
5 Mind Bender at Six Flags Over Georgia
Oh and as soon as you said CCI I was like “too bad he’s never ridden rampage, well good for him.” (Obviously you haven’t ridden Rampage because you are obviously still alive. Lol)
Makes sense seeing Scream Machine on this list as old as it is. Fun fact that it uses the trains from the Georgia Cyclone.
I don't have too many "coaster credits" so my most painful coaster is the twister at knoebels, which I straight up thought I was having a concussion while riding.
Hades 360 is so painful. Last time I went on it i had a headache for 3 days and a neck ache for a week. I will never go on it again.
Darien Lake is my home park; I agree Predator is ROUGH. The Viper is also painful, particularly for short folks because your head slams into the shoulder restraints.
I think the old Vekoma SLCs, Boomerangs and loopers as well as Arrow loopers like Corkscrew should get Vekoma vest restraints to eliminate head banging. That would at least make them bearable. I also think some of the old CCI, Dinn Corporation and PTC coasters should get the GCI renovation GhostRider got. A complete re-track and new trains. That would greatly help with roughness. I think even the woodies in Blackpool Pleasure Beach could get it.
The Exterminator at Kennywood was my most painful ride.
It kept headbanging me and jerking me around like I was a dice being shaken in a Yahtzee Cup.
This was my first and only time I rode it and I hated it.
Also, I waited like over an hour for this ride for a painful ride experience.
Mine Blower at Funspot is actually the only wooden coaster we've ever ridden, we honestly thought all wooden coasters were that rough.
Still can't beat the inversions tho
Renegade at Valleyfair in MN is a pretty rough GCI. Cedar Fair needs to give it some TLC
My nomination for most painful coaster is The Boss at Six Flags Saint Louis. I rode it in the front and it was okay. Later on in the day, I rode in the back row and it was a completely other story. I don’t know if I suffered a panic attack, but I want to the hospital to make sure I hadn’t done any damage to my chest. Every thing checked out, but I’ll never ride in a Gestlauer wood coaster train again.
Every POV of Predator looks like a friggin’ earthquake
In the UK we have an Arrow suspended with vekoma slc seats itnis called the vampire
Great American Scream Machine is definitely the roughest. I shook so much I couldn’t even see straight. The only coaster ever that I could not wait for it to end!
I honestly wish Walibi and vekoma would work together to completely retrack El Condor with the new STC track and trains... The slc layout is great, it's super intense and has great footchoppers. So by doing that retrack you have all the good stuff of the og slc plus all the good stuff of modern vekoma.
And I honestly don't think it would be super expensive.. The park recently got a Mack little dipper and a RMC Rocky horse.. If they'd do this they would get a top tier inverted coaster next to their top tier RMC and top Tier intamin Mega.
Basically giving the park one of the best top three lineups you can find. (excluding the obvious huge chain parks like sfmm and cp etc.)
He mention the great american scream machine and I can relate. That ride use to be so much fun. The last time i rode it i got a headache.
Skyrush isn’t that bad. Better restraints would make it more enjoyable, but it isn’t unbearable
and it’s completely marathonable. I’m wearing a Skurush shirt right now.
Got to ride scream at SFMM on Friday the day before they shut down due to Corona Virus. It was an amazing day. Total ghost town and to top it off we had a light rain so some of the rides were definitely going a couple mph faster :) I didn’t notice anything uncomfortable on scream. Only been on it once before that and didn’t notice it then either. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the ride with the exception of the parking lot theming lol. One I might add on there seems like it may have been fixed recently and that is X2. That last Raven loop used to be brutal IMHO. My last few rides on it feel like they have been much smoother but I want to say all last year there was a crazy bump right at the bottom of that last Raven loop right as the ride took the photo. (I think they moved the photo to the bottom of the first raven loop but I could be wrong). Definitely made for some awkward looking pictures. The first time I rode it several years ago I immediately couldn’t move my neck to the right and it stayed that way for a couple months and the same thing happened to my brother 😂😂😂😂. Don’t get me wrong I love X2 and it is probably my favorite ride there but wow did I used to have to brace myself for that every single ride!!!
Great video, thanks. I agree and/or respect all your choices but I can’t agree with you on Mine Blower. Rode it 3 times straight, front and back and thought it was butter smooth every time. Definitely one of my all time favorite coasters! But I do hear other people complain about it, which makes me wonder if it’s temperamental.
The way you bashed intamin at the end! I was cracking up😂
I'm just here for the Volare, I just know it has to be here.
I was not disappointed.
I knew The Predator wouldn't let me down 😂...and to think my dad waited 2.5 hours to ride it in 1990 when it first opened. I was too little to ride at that time, but have been on it about 60 times.
My home park is Darien lake and I agree, predator could definitely use an rmc makeover.
I’ve always been “immune to” roller coaster pain- not meaning that I can’t feel it, but that I complain the least. The closest park to me is SFOG, and I went a few times with friends and family, and all I heard was “don’t ride Ninja/Blue Hawk”. All I heard was complaints about it and everyone said it was one of the most painful rides there. I went on it as both Ninja and Blue Hawk and loved it. Felt fine. Maybe a little rough, but it’s very bearable to me. However, the same people who told me not to ride Ninja/Blue Hawk LOVES Scream Machine. And no. I do not. I’m someone who will ride anything and grin and bear it. Georgia Scorcher messes with me a bit as far as pain goes (but I have janky feet and legs, so I always just ignore that as normal). But Scream Machine? My mom who rode it when it was still fairly new (and running backwards) took me on it ONCE nearly ten years ago when I was like, 11. Never again. I hate that thing. That shit HURTS.
I’ll never understand people who shit on Blue Hawk and love Scream Machine under the same breath. 😂
I definitely agree about the comment on rain. I was riding millennium force for the first time, and I can distinctly remember the rain hitting me extremely hard in the face on that lift hill going up with the mag lift only to have what we’re probably the same raindrops kick my ass as we went down the drop
"Let's talk about more painful woodies...." **snort** Sorry, I'm immature, LOL!
100% A+
I remember Mantis as a harsh one on the legs. You get off and gravity is all messed up lmao....
X-flight by far has the tightest restraints on the wing coasters. You legitimately can't breathe on the brake run while they stack the train from slow operations
Almost spat out my drink when he said “where your neck will become acquainted with the safety collars” he might’ve said something else about still idk why I thought it was as funny as I did but I did lol
RMC: Maybe not the rides, but every single train seat. My legs have hurt for at least 24 hours after sitting in one.
I loved Vortex and to me, it was one of the better rides in the park in late 2016, but this is most likely due to Banshee feeling like I was not moving and Diamond Back basically doing the same thing that RMC seats do to me.
The Smiler during it’s crash: YES
For some reason I don’t find Hollywood rip ride rocket rough at all, I just rode it last week but one of the people in our group did the other four did not, weird.
The sns free spins are just something else😂
The most noticeable gerstlauer jolt/pothole is the exit of the cobra roll on the smiler.
Was anyone else from Minnesota super exited when he briefly mentioned Wild Thing?
TBH I've ridden scream at SFMM dozens of times and have never once felt a serious rattle. The ride still feels smooth as butter to me.
Roar is one of the roughest coasters I’ve ever ridden
The beast at kings island was horrible when I went. It was very rough and shaking.
And btw Gauntlet at magic springs isn’t a bad vekoma slc it is very smooth with little head banging.
Tremors and Corkscrew at Silverwood are some head bangers
I remember suffering 2 concussions on a roller coaster at the Houston Rodeo last year... That shit HURTED. 😭😭 (It was janky and going way too fast)
Hero at flamingo land is the most uncomfortable ride ever. It’s a Zanpearler volair
American eagle feels like it’s gonna fall apart and I actually thought some airtime was so forceful on twisted colossus it felt like my legs we’re trying to break them selves off every time we got airtime
i think a very painful moment is on any rmc when your legs slam into the shin guards especially on twisted colossus on the drops on either side the camelback and the head chop drop on the blue track
I rode rip ride rockin 8 times on my trip to universal and I had a great ride
Roar at SFA is certainly a rough ride. It would be a great RMC convert. They could call it Chessie, after the Chesapeake Bay monster.
Also the shin guards on Superman Ride of Steel at SFA are terrifying on the hard brake over the last bunny hill. I flinch during the brakerun every time knowing I'm about to slam my legs into the shin guard.
I definitely think Wildcat at Hershey is the worst coaster running that I've ever ridden. I still have a headache from riding it 10 years ago.
the harness on jersey devil coaster did bring me pain, idk why, and its only 3 months old. maybe i do kinda agree with the pain on the raptors with those harnesses... well hey, nobody said the raptors are smooth
Revolution didn't have headrests either -- it was soooo nice.
Skyrush’s restraints are the very worst, they dig into your quadriceps when it delivers it’s air time.
Some people think I'm crazy for saying Scream is rough, but a front row ride straight up sucks. I don't know how some people think it's smooth, but lucky them I guess
FINALLY someone else that hates Skyrush!!!
I’m honestly surprised that nobody’s legs have gotten amputated from skyrush yet.
5:47 Same goes for Wildcat at Lake Compounce.
So the scream machine that was in Six Flags Great Adventure is now in Six Flags Over Georgia?
Valleyfair is actually my home park. It's a time and a half
I think the roughest Schwarzkopf I rode was scorpion at Busch gardens Tampa
The most pain I ever experience on a Premiere coaster is getting into the train.
Zachary Potter looking at you Full Throttle
Sees vekoma here comes the ninja! Proceeds to not mention the ninja
Most painful defunct : Son of Beast. Only coaster I've ridden that give me a splitting migraine. And i liked Mean Streak back in the day.
Dorney is my home park and hydra used to be buttery smooth but I guess they’re doing a terrible job a maintaining it cause it’s developed a crazy rattle
I will say outlaw run has a major pothole on the drop in the back seat
For me the worst Intamin i've ridden is The Shockwave at Drayton Manor, it's easy to see why they never made any more stand ups with Zero G Rolls, you're guaranteed to come off slightly concussed from the roll and the double corkscrews 🤯🤯🤯
i literally pay the admission fee for six flags over georgia just to ride scream machine as many times as humanly possible
I love Roar, and wooden twisters generally. I'd rather see it retracked by GCI than RMC'd. The other Roar at Discovery Kingdom was already RMC'd.
For the last time the legend isn't rough
Not anymore
I went on revolution opening day and it was a great ride with just a lap bar
