- Hershey just made a HUGE announcement with the unveiling of ChocolateTown, the all new updated entrance plaza/shopping district, updated front gate, and massive roller coaster to go along with it! We're here to break it down bit by bit so you can know all there is to know about this new area coming in 2020!

1. I went to Hersheypark this past summer, and I did find that the entryway was sort of small and cramped. 2. I’m really excited for this expansion!! 3. Your analysis videos are really good considering how quick you make them after an announcement :)
Yeah.. I understand becoming more modern but I’ll miss the entrance that’s been there for 35 years since I first went :(

Hershey isn't a regional park anymore it's an international superstar a must visit in your life park amazing flats amazing dark rides it will have 15 roller coasyers when this opens (16 if you count ligjtning racer as 2) and crazy world class roller coasters and a decent water park
@@arkitect156 there's gonna be another new section of the park the flying Falcons is getting moved to it as well as a few others plus the confirmed return of the white water Rapids before the road was moved to go around the giant center of your coming in one of the back ways you could see it being built

I’m so excited!!! This is my home park and the entrance was a much needed upgrade. Oh, and also an amazing B&M Hyper is not a bad addition either.

This really looks awesome. I really need to go back once this is complete. It's really nice to see another B&M come to Hersheypark.
Should have been something other than a hyper as it's one of the worst possible choices thanks to Skyrush being in the same park, a B&M wing, dive or flyer would have been WAY BETTER OPTIONS. That alone undermines everything they're doing.
Cool to see that chocolate world is closer to the entrance and just adds to the entrance with something that was already there.
Your videos are very impressive dude. great job! Went there yesterday it was packed, lots of rides down and got rain, we got raincheck tickets that are good for next year! The statue was still there

wow now I see this park in a whole new perspective than I used to!
I'm a few years late to this party. But, I worked in Dauphin County a few years ago as a cartographer. They have 23 more acres. They basically paid PennDot to realign that road you see in the video. The bridge on that road needed to be replaced anyway. It was replaced in 2016 so they sat on this for a few years hence all the smaller rides the last couple years. It was a win win for everyone involved.
This is my home park so it will be a fun year next year.
You guys are lucky. My home park is Six Flags Fiesta TX and I also count Six Flags Over TX as one of my home parks.
John Lorton yeah they are great parks But I would take Great adventure and Hersheypark over SFFT and SFOT any day but that’s just me.
John Lorton yeah iron rattler is awesome it’s my 2nd favorite RMC and Superman is pretty good too.
I'm hoping the coaster stays the way it is in the renderings. That low airtime hill, 2 helices, and no brake run make it look awesome!
Haven't been there since like 2012. Can't wait to visit again, and seeing this will be interesting.

Looks like I'm gonna have to make another trip to Hershey in a couple of years. Maybe the new coaster can be my 30th coaster credit, assuming I don't go to another park next year.

It's going to be pretty exciting!!! I can't wait to ride Candymonium and see the new expansion, from the animation it looks like it'll be beautiful! I will miss the Tudor buildings though, I loved that. I think as you said the Milton Hershey statue will remain somewhere in the park, it's possible that they'd move it to where the entrance is or where the the ice cream parlor and restaurant will be.
This is pretty cool. I've never been to Hersheypark, but I'll definitely have to go.
I wish cedar fair had more actual restaurants/pavilions at their entrances or right inside the front gate

I used to work at Hershey and before you work your first shift you have company orientation and they share with you the entire history of Hershey and how they are carrying on Milton Hershey’s dream so I highly doubt they will remove his statue, it will likely be moved tho.

I was there the day it was announced, there was a lot of construction and 1 mall strip of track is there already
I live in Palmyra, PA, which is next to Hershey. We used to call SkyRush, ThighCrush, as the restraints were pulled down tight and uncomfortable. It has gotten better, but I am really looking forward to this B&M Hyper.

That 270 degree turn makes this coaster feel so much like silver star ( Europapark) and i love that

Some rides that have been retired such as The Falcon when the drop towers came out I feel they might bring back out, since they still own the rides and are just in storage
They did that with balloon flight and starship american so its always possible
I am going to Sfne, Sfga, and Hp next year in June! I am so excited but I only have 1 day at each park so wish me luck!

Actually Bavarian architecture. But yes, it was a quaint warm entrance to the park that I am sad to see abandoned with the new construction. Obviously it is cheaper to just stack brick instead of the detail of the Bavarian style but they could have kept that feel with the new construction. oh well.....
Me too, I guess you'd have to go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg to see that kind of architecture.

That new entrance is going to be sooooooo nice for all the high school marching bands that have championships at Hershey Park Stadium if they keep some of the stuff like the starbucks open for those events

I have season passes for the 2019 summer already because I live near there and I thought it was the 2019 year so I was kind of sad. But I’m kind of sad that they are going to remove some stuff and it won’t be as original but I’m super excited for it .

Love this expansion. I always found their entrance to be a bit squishy and awkward, especially before 6pm when everyone starts showing up for the free admission with proof of next day's admission promotion. Hershey park is probably my top hidden gem destination park.

I just road Sky Rush and got over my fear of it and now I have to get over a fear of this. The drop it the thing that gets me.

So we have Pennsylvania cross country states in that golf course they bought for the expansion. Not sure how I feel lol.
It's nice to have an addition at my homepark, technically my homepark is seabreeze but I don't count that.

What might not be a bad idea is putting the Milton statue into the kisses fountain. IDK just an idea. I'm a local so I'm always happy to hear when something is going down at Hershey Park

Honestly while it does look really nice, I am a bit afraid that the new area will not have the quaintness that the old area had, though it still looks like it would be a pretty good development, especially for a complex as big as Hershey's. Though again it would be nice to have some smaller side streets with perhaps a few smaller stores or eateries here and there. You gotta have a fine balance between the big, crowded main paths and the smaller, quainter side routes. I learned a lot of that from people in the City planning business and it's definitely something that can apply to theme parks too.
The new grander entrance looks kinda like Hersheypark's take on Disney Springs with the kinda vintage style retail center area....only complaint I have is the multicolored sign over the gate.....it doesn't really fit the upscale look they seem to be going for
The homemade POV missed that the exit of the first Helix looks to bank to the outside before dropping. Can be seen in the distance a few times in the video :O
