I had someone tell me to do that long time ago, before i started painting last year. not sure why people think if anyone says so on here, they think they started it. sometimes, not always. but its all good. :)
The Aussie floetrol is made by owatrol and they have the same thing sold as ez flow in the us and can be gotten on Amazon for fairly inexpensive prices .. it’s the same exact formula or at least the same ingredients 🤷♀️ it has the same effect on the pours ..hope that helps
I want to thank you for this infor! This is the 1st time that I have seen someone's Minwax as a color different from white!! I thought I didn't know how to buy it! Thank you. I don't feel dumb anymore!
Yeah I know what you mean. I think the brown is oil based and the white is water based. I’ve seen ppl use both and I’m trying to figure out which one works best b4 buying.
Thanks for your videos (I’ve watched SEVERAL so far). I love it when artists SHARE their successes and pearls of wisdom. 🥰. My question isn’t addressed to anyone other than the bigwig at floetrol who decided that the recipe would be different from Australia to America. They could be making a boat load in the US. Somebody’s head should be rolling. Just sayin.

Thank you so much for your video on how to mix the mini wax with the Floetrol and why . How that I understand that it acts like the Aussie Floetrol, I will go out and purchase it. Thank you, thank you!
Thanks Mata fantastic idea, that's what I do since my mix for the bloom technique is the same but without color, I do make US floetrol thinner since the Australian floetrol is much thinner, so I thin mine out with M1 .also there a painters mesh used in gallons size they come 2 to a bag for less than 3dollars at Home Depot and no more strainer needed just cut a small round putt in the top of the floetrol with a rubber band and its filters it fantastically

Hi Meta, just saw the option of adding Minwax. I like to know if this will cause issues when you want to varnish or resin finish a piece later. I heard about the the problems with silicone in your paints and the need to clean your art before you can varnish or resin. Does anybody have any experience with this? Thank you for sharing any experiences.
Hello nice too meet U from Spain!! and thank's for your teaching!!! 😍 What do u use this for...? Cup tecnic, blow dryer tecnic, deeping tecnic, spiral cup tecnic...? And do U addit to every color??? I mix my colors with a base like a pouring medium: untited base paint semigloss, and poliurethane gloss varnis. 15ml - 3.1. The floetrol i use for one of my cell activators is with 1 part of amsterdam titanium white paint, 3 parts of floetrol. 1/2 Ellmers school glue and 5 drops of min wax. There are people that also put acrylic ink. I do put It, in another recipe whithout the school glue. This for blow tecnic and swipe tenic. But I' never try other tecnics with Min Wax instead of silicone oil 100%... I would follow and check more your cool art!! 🤗🎨👏🏽✨
Hi there! I know this is a pretty belated comment but I have a question. Can you use Valspar wood conditioner or is Minwax the only suggested brand? I have lots of the Valspar. 😂 Thanks so much!
Help! Video old but new to me. I just happen to have Miniwax and am going to use Floetrol for the first time. Question on these measurements. 2 ml = 80 drops. 3 drops to 1 oz Floetrol. That doesn’t make sense. What is the measurement for 1 drop?
Do you mean paint pouring on cabinets? I have never personally done it, but I have seen some really cool photographs from others who have. So I know it is possible. I would think you would have to sand and prep the wood really well, and then also seal it really well.
Hi Carolyn. it doesn't leave a oily residue when it's dry the way silicone does. While it is an oil it integrates with the floetrol, and dries very clean. At least at the quantities I add it.
Thank you so much for all of your helpful and lovely videos. I am just getting started. My head is spinning with all the different recipes on youtube! I bought the red can (oil based) Minwax like you use and American floetrol. I also have Liquitex Pouring Medium and Sherwin Williams Ovation Plus Base C, untinted interior semi gloss. I'm confused about a pillow mix and a base mix. Are they different? I see everyone using a torch and I have one but then I saw where you can't torch house paint. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or direct me to more of your videos. I really want to do lacing so I can make dragonfly wings at some point. Thank you for taking the time. 💜
Hi Hazel, it sounds like you are interested in learning the bloom technique, which one I've never fully tackled (yet) But I highly reccomend checking out my friend @GarrickBrownArtStudio ! His blooms are amazing, and he's got lots of videos teaching about the technique.
Oh what is your recipe for paints flotrol min wax mixture and do you use water in a separate container in addition to the flotrol min wax mixture as well?...thank you very much CHRIS 😎
Thanks for sharing 🙏 may i ask you ... i m french and i need the principal ingredient to find the same product as min wax in france could you help me❤🙏
Hi from Australia thanks for your great video. So do I still need to add minwax to our Aussie floetrol and would it add a binding agent to help with crazing?
Thank you I’ve been using Valspar with conditioner I believe that it’s probably the same thing. Just was wondering after you use the oil based Minwax in the flow trawl, do you need to clean this canvas very well like you do with adding silicone?
It doesn’t effect it the way silicone does. I’ve used it quite a bit in base coat and haven’t noticed anything, even with the minwax. It’s Zinsser paint booster paint additive flow control not a paint conditioner.
@@judygould5244 If you’re asking me, it helps with producing pearls without using minwax or Aussie floetrol. It doesn’t have a bad oder either. The Zinsser is for water based paints as well- not for oil paint. That’s why it blends well and doesn’t leave any residue, unlike the minwax. But I’ll try anything really. The Aussie floetrol went bad being in my Florida garage this past year. ☹️
Try some Zissner paint conditioner either with or without minwax. Also cool effects. Got that tip from Michelle from Grateful Creations here on RUclips. She doesn’t use it exactly the way I do but, it’s her tip using the Zissner as an additive.
