I actually like them both... for different reasons. Great video. First one I've ever seen that sets some guidance for consistency that is absolute and the same worldwide. ie: Amsterdam, Standard Series Titanium White 60% paint 40% water. If you can establish that this is a good consistency then you can use it as a benchmark for all other mixes. Unlike glue or Floetrol or Owatrol which seems to be different from country to country and paint colors and brands vary enormously. Thing is though with pour painting I have found that if the do the exact experiment over again you will probably get completely different results so it is not a good idea to base a conclusion on a sample of one. I produced a great painting using liquitex pouring medium and Amsterdam paints early this year but after about six attempts I have failed to repeat it and gone through a gallon of pouring medium with no success.
Both are good. It would depend on what outcome you're looking for. If you don't want cells, water is fine. I've only ever used Australian floetrol and I noticed that the UK one is thicker and gives less cells. If I don't want cells, I use a mixture of PVA glue and water as my medium. I do love Amsterdam acrylics. Thank you for sharing ✌️❤️

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment! I apologize, but I actually don't specialize in ocean/sand painting, so I might not be the best person to provide advice on that. I appreciate your understanding!
There is no difference except for the bubble effect. The image shouldn’t be credited to neither floetrol nor water. That’s just matter of luck. Just my opinion, go ahead and argue if im wrong.
I do paintings for my own home with only water. I don’t like the look of cells. It reminds me of animal prints which I’m not a fan of. To each their own. Acrylic with water only turn out great for my preference. I’ve done Dutch pours & blooms. You taught me I could do this. Thank you
Suggestion...Too much water in your water mix will cause your paint to break down and look chalky. Because the pigment has been thinned so dramatically, it will dry too quickly and develop pitting and cracking as seen in the first painting. May I also suggest not using yellow in this type of experiment. Yellow and green don't like to stick around. Archivally, paints mixed with this much water or Floetrol will probably not last nearly as long as traditional methods. We don't learn without experimentation though, so this type of thing is necessary. Please consider adding your testing element to your paint and mixing slowly to fully incorporate it. Just glopping it all together CAN leave lumps.
My first attempt with acrylic pouring was only with water on bristol paper. I did notice that the colours might have changed a bit with only water. Now, I do my pouring with water and matt medium just to keep the consistancy of the colour. I'm using liquitex or studio pébéo acrylic paint brand. And still, my mixes don't seem to be as fluid. I'll try to make it more fluid with what I have. I also found out that the ready to pour acrylic paint was not as fluid as my own pour paint mixes and I'm not sure why though. I just do pour painting for fun anyway.
I’m just getting supplies in to try the paint pour method and I’ve just bought FT, maybe I should of as the water only one is nicer. Not a fan of cells 🤦🏻♀️,
They are both stunning! I also love your presentation of both methods. I want to attempt but would like to know how long I should expect the painting to take to dry completely?
This is a bogus test. owatrol is not available in the USA or anywhere at a reasonable price. Same with Amsterdam paint. The better painting is water only anyway. The Owatoral one is u g l y. With the micro “pimple” so called cells. Got any informative demonstrations?
Well, I publish videos not only for USA viewers. In Europe, it's actually pretty cheap. You can buy the orange Floetrol in the USA, the result will be quite similar. Anyway, thanks for watching! :)
It’s a Floetrol demonstration without Floetrol?!? Owatrol isn’t Floetrol! Did we really need to see half the video just mixing paints? Not one of your better videos and I’m pretty sure Owatrol won’t be impressed - or Floetrol.
I'm sorry that you didn't like the content. Just a side note, Owatrol is actually the European Floetrol, so practically speaking, it's the same. Next time, feel free jump to a part you are interested in. :) I hope my future content will please you more. :) Thanks for watching Rael!

🤔 I really prefer the water only one. It looks smoother and no bubbles. Idk if that only happened with this one or if he did it again the results would be different or not. But at this moment it’s the water/paint mix for me.
Sorry complete novice here. What does the torch do versus the hat gun and at what point do you use each of them? Also, what does silicone oil do and when/how do you use this?
I like the WATER ONLY one best. I, myself, am not too "crazy" about having to have all the cells popping up all over. I like being able to see the colors "uninterrupted" as they would be with the cells being all on the painting.
The water-only design is richer, more depth, no annoying pock-marks and bubbles. After three years of acrylic pouring, I am finally rethinking both Floetrol and GAC800. The jury is still out on Liquitex Pouring Medium. Well done video, new sub here.
I wish you had taken the same care in spreading the water only one as you did the one with Floetrol. All the cells got poured off the edge on the water only one. But you saved them and spread them to the center on the other.
Which one do you like better? :)
I Like both😂😍👍🏻

I don’t like the way the water one crinkled a bit in that area when it dried.
Question: is that an American brand of Floetrol?

I like both. Question is that water your spraying on top the canvas after you poured the paint!
Can you tell me please the exact time of the video when it happened?
When did you put the silicone in? That's what makes the cells
There is no Silicone oil added.
The Floetrol itself makes the cells. :)
Do you think you would have had more cells if you had hit it with a torch or heat gun?
I actually did another experimental video, check out that for the answer! :)

What I am asking myself is when we do blow outs with hair dryer, do we use water or flotreol, also when we are doing a sky, ocean, sand painting, I know that there is a little bit of blowing when the sand and ocean meet but do we use water or flotreol for this kind of painting..??
The other thing I would love to know is can we use both on one painting paint/water and paint/flotreol on one painting…????
I want to thank-you in advance for helping me, I appreciate it so much, Hugs and Kisses, Xxxx… Johanne

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment! I apologize, but I actually don't specialize in ocean/sand painting, so I might not be the best person to provide advice on that. I appreciate your understanding!
If you want cells.....FLOETROL! If not......water only. That is what I've learned here.
Indeed. Thanks a lot! :)
Ok. I'm. Going to try it. Thank you. I'm. Always looking for ways that cut cost for people so everyone can afford to paint. Thank you. I'm In.
Go for it, good luck! :)
I like Flotrol I use it always with paint
Thank you!
If I had no Flotrol my Art would have to wait till I bought some.
I like the one with cells.
Both are beautiful.
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much, Sumonda! :)
There is no difference except for the bubble effect. The image shouldn’t be credited to neither floetrol nor water. That’s just matter of luck.
Just my opinion, go ahead and argue if im wrong.
Thank you so much for the feedback. :)
Different liquids or solids do not weigh the same. So you must have something to measure the volume not the weight. Your pouring will be much better.
Thank you for the feedback!
I do paintings for my own home with only water. I don’t like the look of cells. It reminds me of animal prints which I’m not a fan of. To each their own. Acrylic with water only turn out great for my preference. I’ve done Dutch pours & blooms. You taught me I could do this. Thank you
Thank you so much! :)
Thanks for this video, was helpful. I liked the water only one a little bit more but the cells in the floetrol are pretty cool.
Thank you so much!
its cool for the video, but when water dries, the colors are extremely dull compared to initial pour
You can actually see my dried results in the vide! :)
These are definitely interesting. I can't allow myself to waste precious paint! It's costly to me and I don't like to waste anything!😮
Glad you like them! :)
I’m just getting supplies in to try the paint pour method and I’ve just bought FT, maybe I should of as the water only one is nicer. Not a fan of cells 🤦🏻♀️,
Blow it away, Lisa! :)
11/5/2023 I am not a big fan of cells so for this type of pour I would choose water only. Very pretty 🎉
Thank you very much!
They are both stunning! I also love your presentation of both methods. I want to attempt but would like to know how long I should expect the painting to take to dry completely?
It takes about 2-3 days, it depends on the environment.
How do they look when dry? From experience, just using water, leads to duller colors when it's dry.
It's actually look great even when it dries.
I hope my future content will please you more. :)
Thanks for watching Rael!
You do such an amazing job and your tortorials are picture perfect . Keep up the amazing work ❤️🌹❤️🌹
Thank you so much! :)
I agree with the water only preference, the cells in the Floetrol plus water don’t really ake an impression. Great video, thank you!
Thank you very much! :)
Water only has a soft dreamy floating feel. Floetrol is bold and vibrant. Both are appealing. I guess it all depends on the mood you are going for.
Thank you so much!
The music was not helpful during this tutorial demonstration. Would have preferred the voice of the person sharing what gowns on during the work.
Thank you for the feedback!
I like the painting with Floetrol better, the colors are brighter.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
I actually wanted to know which pour have more vibrancy n saturation i might be wrong but i feel more in water pour than floetrol ... please correct me or tell me ima bit confused cz they bith look beautiful in their own ways i like water more but stil im confused!??
Acrually there is no real difference when it comes to vibrancy :)
Hi Vizoli your work is amazing, thank you for sharing it with us, what’s the equivalent in grams, to your 33% pour
It's 30 grams.
Thank you very much! :)
Comme l'a dit Scarlatine, la vidéo est déjà 1 œuvre d'art musique melange😉et couleurs. Pour ma part , je ne sais tjrs pas ce que je préfère avec ou sans cellules. TOUT ME PLAIT .
Thank you very much!
I actually like the look of the pour with the water better, but the one with the floetrol has more cells and looks more galaxy like🥰
Thanks for the feedback! :)
🤔 I really prefer the water only one. It looks smoother and no bubbles. Idk if that only happened with this one or if he did it again the results would be different or not. But at this moment it’s the water/paint mix for me.
Many thanks for the feedback!
Sorry complete novice here. What does the torch do versus the hat gun and at what point do you use each of them? Also, what does silicone oil do and when/how do you use this?
Please have a look at my other videos, one of them shows you the torch vs no torch usage! :)
Interesting cells only appeared in the purple. Both are beautiful. Cells have a time and place.
Thank you so much!
I’m glad you did this comparison. It helps to see them side by side.
Thank you so much!
I love them both but the first one is absolutely breathtaking! I haven't tried this technique but I'm going to! You do amazing work!
Thank you so much!
I like the WATER ONLY one best. I, myself, am not too "crazy" about having to have all the cells popping up all over. I like being able to see the colors "uninterrupted" as they would be with the cells being all on the painting.
Thanks a lot! :)
The water-only design is richer, more depth, no annoying pock-marks and bubbles. After three years of acrylic pouring, I am finally rethinking both Floetrol and GAC800. The jury is still out on Liquitex Pouring Medium. Well done video, new sub here.
Thank you very much, Angela! :)
What's the Liquitex pouring medium? Is this an alternative to the floetrol or how is it used?
Can you mix the types of paint? i.e. some colours with just water and some with the floetrol.
You can, but you need to be sure that the consistency is the same.
Are you in the United States? Just wondering. Enjoying your videos a lot!!
Nop, I'm in Germany. :)
I wish you had taken the same care in spreading the water only one as you did the one with Floetrol. All the cells got poured off the edge on the water only one. But you saved them and spread them to the center on the other.
Thank you for the feedback!
Believe it or not lube……you know personal lube, makes great cells and flows
Wow, I didn't know that. :)
both are pretty but I like the cells best. But we can achieve that with sijicone
Thank you very much!
I don't like silicone.
I prefer Floetrol.
I like the water better this time. Thank you for showing the tutorial. Very interesting and informative
Thank you very much! :)
I bought Floetrol and it flowed like cottage cheese. I don't think I'll ever order it again.
Oh, anyway, thanks for the feedback!
