Becky, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and still here. This is my favorite RUclips channel and when you said you were from Pittsburgh I was like heyyyyy. I'm 28 and working on my recovery. I have a fair amount of sobriety in my 20s so far. It's definitely a struggle, but there's a really good recovery community and a lot of meetings in Pittsburgh if you ever choose to come back. Nothing better than sober friends. Regardless of where you are, you can do this if you want it. It can be difficult, but it's worth it. I can tell you have a huge heart and will be able to help a lot of people. Sending you love and hope from the 412.

I’ve walked this. Choices brought me in - choices took me out. This only happened after I was sick of my own excuses, and was tired of acting out what I resented others for having done to me in the past. Choose to be better than what made you originally decide to give up. The alternative is a Hell before the mercy of death. Life begins with learning to love yourself. This woman can love herself when she’s ready - not before. I love her, because I love people. However, that’s not enough. The clock can be an impatient debt collector - I hope she beats it.

My whole childhood was the exact same, no issues, had everything, and I still for some ungodly reason chose at 26 years old, after having my 2 beautiful babies, not drinking, not even smoking weed, I became depressed, and jumped at the feeling of feeling nothing at all. I have now been on and off opiates for 12 or 13 years. I am now 8 months clean again off of fentynal and meth. I almost lost the love of my life this past December to a heart attack, pneumonia, and a blood infection, all because he wasn't ready yet. I'm sorry you lost the love of your life, I know it hurts. I have been with mine 11 years on and off all through our addiction. I left 2 1/2 years ago to get me, myself clean and worry about me finally. I got clean and was clean almost 15 months. My fiance wasn't ready then either. Then he finally was and we did good again for months, and then we fell, but the difference was this time was that I wanted it still. I left and he stayed on the streets again and that's when he almost died. I remember getting that call that day, to come say good bye to him. I fell to my knees and the heart wrenching feeling was too much too handle. He was in a coma, and we were told he couldn't breath on his own, and his temperature of almost 107 wouldn't come down. We stood by his bed for days, and he miraculously woke up. Since then he hasn't touched anything, he started therapy, medication for his mental health, and actually dealing with his own issues. Please get help, you are an amazing soul and remind me so much of myself. We were not made for this life. No one was or is, but you have such a BIG heart, and you can tell you don't want this life anymore. I think you just don't know where or how or why you would want to get and stay clean. Please reach out to Mark and ask him for real help, he has helped so many people. You are loved and probably very very missed by so many. Please call your dad and say hello, tell him you love him. I know I can't make you want to get clean, that is up to you, but please please please do it for yourself out of anyone in your life. I can tell you want this, I can feel you want this. If you need anyone to talk to and you happen to see this please feel free to reach out. I know I'm in Canada and your out in L.A. but I can and will be there to listen and help in anyway I possible can. ❤

Even if you fall back down, get up and don’t hate yourself. You have support, get better and become someone who helps others transition to being sober, I feel like you would absolutely rock at doing that.

I went 3 years without talking to my father because i was using drugs and was ashamed. we also had an argument over money i felt was owed to me (child support he didnt pay that my mother told me about) while i was struggling to make it on my own. After 3 years of zero contact and lots of drug use i got a phone call from my grandmother (My dads mom) that my father had shot himself and was no longer with us. It broke me. Get back to your father Becky. Please dont make the same mistake i did. Im 2 years clean now and everyday i wish he could have gotten the chance to see me get better. I loved my father more than life itself. I miss him dearly. You can do this Becky. Your father loves you and has been waiting for you this whole time. God bless.

Girl, we all make bad decisions sometimes. Reality is, if you hadn’t done the drugs you might have never met the love of your life. Our experiences and choices make us who we are, good or bad. You can also choose to live differently. You are worth much more than this and you have so much good life ahead of you. Go to rehab, work the program, face your demons and deal with your shit. You can find your peace and have a better life.

Becky you are smart enough and you can do this!!! I'm 52 and just got clean June will be 3 years and I started using at 26. It's definitely not easy but I'm telling you if I can do it so can you you. I've never done heroin but I did blues and just ate them and I'm not saying I'm any better because I'm not and right now I am in the most excruciating pain I've ever been in in my life I am numb from the knee down and it's a mixture of sciatica and peripheral neuropathy but I think it's so much more than that and it literally is consuming my every thought and all I think about is if I could just take some pain pills but I know me even if I started out as prescribed I know eventually I will pop them like candy so I'm just going through it right now but I will tell you I got off of opiates from Suboxone I was on it for six months it was the easiest withdrawal and this is my story so nobody come for me in the comments please to Becky if you're able to do that I would so suggest it because my life now wouldn't be what it is if I didn't stay clean and I know that sounds cliche but it is the truth and I am sending you nothing but love and strength❤💪 and you are so right addiction does not discriminate because I have an amazing job as an office manager at a doctor's office and that's actually where my addiction began and nobody in my family did drugs or drank and my mom always used to say to me what did I do where did I go wrong and I would tell her mom and has nothing to do with you and unfortunately she passed away and never saw me get clean. Becky you sound so much like me when you talked about being compassionate and helping others I would be the first one when I have nothing so I can totally relate to your story and I definitely have compassion in my heart for you❤

Unfortunate that parents choose to humiliate & shame their daughters about their weight in an effort to control their eating. Becky probably felt inadequate and unworthy because her Dad focused on her outward appearance so much. She has a great personality & BIG humor which have helped her minimize the bullying although deep down inside her self-esteem probably suffered if her Dad's love was so conditional based on how she looked. Glad that she's now focusing on positive self-talk in order to propel herself forward instead of dragging herself down. Bravo Becky!
