- Festival of the Lost 2023 just might be one of the better Events Bungie has brought to Destiny 2 to date thanks to the sweeping changes they've made to the reward structure.. Today I review the Event and answer the question of if it's worth your time or not!

1 memento was all it took for us to like this event. Honestly, the thoughts of a Dawning memento for turning in cookies excite me.
On the topic of cookies, they should make the memento have the texture of a chocolate chip cookie
Instead of a memento as a reward they should just give shaders as a reward that can only be acquired during this event and allow us to apply the shader to our weapons and armour, this would give a bigger reason and motivation to get the shaders during this event...

Who said we liked this event? The predominant opinion is that the event is lazy and uninspired. Doesn’t surprise me you think this content is good when you couldn’t understand how your channel got demonetized when all you did was post low effort memes.

Some decent weapons (Demo/Stone Horror Story, Heal/Incandescent Jurassic, Voltshot Mechabre, don't care about "coping" Stasis will be back and 450s slap), an exclusive free cosmetic that is badass, decently challenging mode; for free event content, spooky season is a pretty solid offering
As I’m writing this, I just completed ALL FotL activities. I was/am taking a break from D2 until the last shape. But I wanted to dip my toe back and enjoy the season. I enjoyed it well enough and might dip back when the dawning drops. Other wise, I think I’ll bow out until the next expansion
I would love if they had a unique memento for each GM. I love the mini flex of the trials memento, and it would be awesome to flex a Lightblade or Mars Battleground memento as well. Huge opportunity for Bungie to expand on this and I hope they take advantage of it

Gotta say the horror story rolls are great if you love ARs, slaps in PVE and even more in the crucible. Still had my snap/quick Mechabre from last year and it’s still my go to PVP snipe.
this year i did all the event triumphs to get the seal (i skipped it entirely last year because pirate season was TERRIBAD), got my one memento, got a couple fair rolls of horror story, didnt spend a dime at eververse, and checked out.
yeah i could keep going to get more memento drops, but the one i got was spent wisely. it looks so spooky on the song of ir yut ❤️
The cap on glimmer has driven me nuts since the beginning
Would have been nice if each lost sector at least had a different objective or something.
Also I think it is worth mentioning that all the new weapons have Deterministic Recoil so in terms of feel they're much better than their older versions. So I can see why a lot of people are liking the Target lock rolls on the Horror Story.
My biggest issue with the event personally is the mask. I love trying different builds, but there’s no point when I’m stuck not being able to use an exotic. Plus my roll is shit on mine, so I’m just generally weaker because I have to use it

SPOOKY solid review. A few extra cons for me. Rhulk mask Silver only (maybe for dust in week 2 or 3?!), masks not being cosmetic (terrible stats and blocks exotics). But it's an improvement on Solstice and a step in the right direction.

I made the mistake, leaving when the chest opens, so didnt count towards the happy haunted quest
Turning in eerie engrams is amazing cuz I'm getting mementos, alloy golf balls and shards so it's good to stock up on material
First, love the editing in this one Joey, well done. Got to say, I love the addition of legend haunted sectors as a means of getting guaranteed engrams with the added bonus of more difficulty, it’s engaging and encourages the player to experiment with loadouts that offer strong offensive or defensive capabilities. My one gripe isn’t with the event, it’s with the player-base because HOLY SHIT this event exposes just how many players haven’t touched the 3.0 systems. Also the mementos not stacking is definitely a big L, although I’ve heard that you can store them in your post master, but I’ve yet to verify that. Anyways, have a spooky time, I look forward to your next video. ❤
Can't speak for this one, but I've gotten two from a single gambit match in the past and the second one has always gone to the postmaster.
I'm trying to figure out what guns look best with memento and my first was apex predator. All black on one of my fav rockets is very very clean looking. The cragtable shotguns look awesome too. Also try syncopation stasis pulse it is solid black very clean
Imo the Horror Story AR is worth farming for since Bungie is planning to rework Stasis for next season
its the "only" reason I'm doing this..just to get a good roll and them I'm logging back off LOL

Mad respect for defending an event most people crap on. I agree with what you say and I am sick and tired of Haunted Lost Sectors. I mean, I would much rather the Forest mode, it was unique. I also love this event, but I did like the last year weapons rather than this year set. Keep being honest on these events, it is a nice refresher. Keep it Spooky!
So what is the point of exotic focus with Raoul? I disagree on FOTL finding it's identity with Focused Exotics.
Only complaint i got is the memento should stack thats all im gonna say
3:43 Except King's Fall weapons, but to be fair, NOTHING looks good on them. Those fleshy bits are a blight on Destiny fashion.
Clown cartridge/explosive light seems decent for acosmic- I agree RF frames aren’t great but you should be able to get ~8 in a clip even using spike grenade in the mag slot. Pages suck- at least they gave vanguard bonus rep last week. Spooky stuff my man

Save up engrams for the moment and ascendant alloys for crafting then use on all guns that are meta rn
I'm feeling that page grind. I've been doing the hero Nightfalls just because it's double rewards and rep so it's 15 minutes for 5 pages. I mean, I guess I'm almost done but I'm at about 1.5 resets from it
Nightfalls give double pages which rounds up to 5 pages? Does that mean pvp and gambit give 2 pages, or 3?
I'd have loved it more if it was a shader not a memento.
An effect like smoke would’ve been better although it’s still a welcome addition just as an all black shader more or less.
The memento and ascendant alloys are the main reasons to play imo even if you are a veteran player like Joe.
I know the masks are a event thing but why can’t I have a 1810 level mask after the event ends, there is not any advantage to having a larger head lol.
They did make quite a spooky event this year. Hoping that dawning will have as much power if not more.

Nothing in destiny is special when you realise it’s made like that so you have to still run the boring live service hamster wheel.
Ive gotten 10+ mementos and 0 alloys. I wouldnt recommend this for farming alloys... Also idc about not being able to carry more mementos. Theres 3 weeks to get all your weapons black and you can hold one for the future. Not a big complaining point for me.

Verbiage like this is literally what keeps players locked into set loadouts instead of experimenting..... and wondering why its not working for them the same way as RUclipsrs.. the answer is simple... they're an individual with their own play styles, skills, handicaps that are different from YOU!
I need these content creators just to create fun video... not everything is pvp or end game
Having to keep putting on a mask and changing the mods on said mask when you change to a different loadout is a minor annoyance

I actually disagree with the page grind. I have to do other shit anyway, so I end up with like 70 pages, and can go into a haunted sector and convert like 20 of them at a time. Makes it pretty easy to get pages for me at least.

Never a huge fan of any of the "event pass" events, but out of all of them, this is probably the most worthwhile I've seen so far. Worthwhile, still not great though lol.

It’s for breast cancer awareness. I dont know how making sure you and others are healthy is an agenda but I guess destiny players just want to complain about everything.
The blue berries in legend sectors is so true it turned me off the event, there was one guy was using kovostove for dps, another one was using dawnblade with daybreak not well i might grind it again but if that happens im out

Played about 30 normal haunted sectors and got 3 erie engrams. Sure u can get a guarateed in the hard mode and die constantly. Trash ain't worth it

To me they should have one shop up for free players and payed players like I know I'm going to point of not playing this event but you literally get event tickets from the competition bar for free and all im saying is if your getting event tickets just make a special shop for free players but oh wait that's over Delivery

In 3 years of this version of the event we have gotten a difficulty option, memento, and masks behinds paywalls. This event is not good and the activity is worse than the Seraph Towers. Y’all need to stop being okay with the bare minimum. Minimum value product, maximum value monetization.

gotta hard disagree on the "Legend" haunted sectors, these are balanced as masters and the random blueberries cant handle it. if it wasn't for guaranteed eerie engrams, I'd never do "legend" haunted sectors.
Bc of the guaranteed Engram, I'm happy to do it even with blueberries. Who cares if I only convert like 4 pages

We’ve gotten so desperate for meaningful events that the ‘carrot on the stick’ memento is the only saving grace for an event that we’ve already done. It feels so lazy and reeks of the constant needs for player engagement bungie wants from the community.
Saying that Haunted forests weren’t that good is so baffling. It was the closest we got to a rogue like activity in Destiny which is perfect in this game since it keeps the excitement going as you play. Sure it was limited but I’d rather have a vex simulation that tries to change up its environment instead of lost sectors covered in halloween kitsch.
I’d rather have bungie scrap events and use the man power and resources to make seasons better. Instead we got the hardcore community singing their praises for what’s essentially a gold star for your guns.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool we some SOMETHING new and desirable but this community is acting like bungie made the best thing ever.
