My first exotic weapons were Thunderlord, Hardlight, and than oddly I got G-horn from the random exotic Heavy weapon engrams than turning those in at the end of the week so I ironically got the G-horn in the end anyways. But since I had gotten both Hardlight and Thunderlord 1st I ended up maxing both out 1st. Also I beat Aetheon's raid on Hard with the Thunderlord, and got the Vex not having a clue as to what the hell it was I had just gotten at the time. I maxed the Vex out and went on absurd killimanjaro-esk killing sprees both in PvE & PvP for the rest of that week until Bungo nerfed the gun.. Unfortunately for Bungo My Titan had an auto-rifle & Fusion Rifle build so I had crazy amounts of buff with the gun regardless of the nerf. My Hunter litterally melts everything whenever I equipped the Vex on my person. Hilariously I ended up getting an Arc autorifle from the prison of elders with god rolls that I had kept...sadly both guns were Legacies which pissed me off to this day because Bungo keeps doing that sh-t without remorse.. Dispite the fact players invest in time and effort into their weapons in D1 and D2 so a degree.

I agree. I liked the feeling that I was signing into a game where I knew what was coming and that I was going to be something that I would be proud of doing. Now I feel that has been taken from us and obtaining that God role on a weapon or perfect armor for a build is unfulfilling through weapon crafting and the endless searching for that perfect armor drop.

@@warcheck9219and Outbreak Prime! TOM and Outbreak Prime are probably still my favorite quests in all of Destiny history, they both bring back so many good memories
Good times... That idle orbit music hits differently. For me, it is reminiscent of friends come and gone, those who passed away, or just left your life indifferently without notice. It stings because that music reminds me of having so many laughs with those guys. I even moved to Europe to meet some of them and start a new chapter. I still appreciate what happened when it did.
Another thing people seem to forget is that we didn’t always have rally banners for super and ammo. Sometimes we had to do “ammo” runs or wait the full 5 minutes to start encounters with full super. Intellect stat and Orpheus rig nightstakers were way more important then to make sure everyone had supers when we needed them. It’s a lot easier to get supers now.
@@dizzy7526synth had timers. And if you had a fast wipe, you'd have no ammo and have to wait. I also remember strategically leaving ammo boxes on the ground
I will never forget my first crucible match with a vex on the enemy team I was playing crucible with a friend in year one and I was pretty new to the game. My friend who play a few months at that time decided we should go into the crucible match and we stuck together most of the time. We watched a team mate turn turn the corner and the dude got melted. The gun shots were something I never heard. My friend screams “run run” I’m like “huh” so we start running away and he goes “when you hear that sound you run. That dude was using the vex mythoclast” I ran into him later and I blinked and I died. That started my obsession with the vex
I still remember a RUclips video of this guy being one of the first to get the mythoclast, went in a rumble game and went 30-0 in record time! What a time that was.
My father and I both played since the beta for d1, I remember going to Taco Bell and getting a promotional cup for d1 and from that moment I was hooked. From farming mats, strikes, public events, grimoire farming, raids, friends, trials, iron banana and much much more. We played d2 all the way up to witch queen and my fathers health got progressively worse landing him in the hospital on a ventilator, his condition got progressively worse and we lost him this past year. You never know when you’re gonna loose the people closest to you be it a friend, an acquaintance, party member, or father. Just enjoy the time you have left with the people you love and express it while we have the ability to. ❤️
Hey dude, this hit me in the feels. Though, l'm the dad. My kids got into the game and hooked me by the House of Wolves. I gamed with them for a long time. they've moved on somewhat but we still get together occasionally and play. Still some very happy memories. I do hope they have memories when I'm gone [not in a hurry there!!! ]. So, from an old fart to a younger person, your story warms my heart. Enjoy the memories of your father, I'd say he enjoyed the time with you.
I'm a dad, too, and my son and I bonded, playing D1. So much has happened since then. My life is so much different now, and I get sad thinking of how much I miss those times. I'm sorry you lost your dad. He sounds like he was an amazing father. We lose so much in this life and having memories of better times is ours forever.
The most egregious change was losing sparrow horns in D2. If we can't annoy our friends with a cartoony clown horn, what are we even doing as a society?
I remember doing the Bad Juju quest back in the day, spent maybe 5 or 6 hours *straight* PvPing for it, it's the reason why I ended up getting the "kill one of each class without dying" achievement way back when I played D1 on the 360. Good times man, good times.
Yup, I have a similar story with the Thorn quest and I'm a hunter. I had to use Atheon's Epilogue, a random legendary fusion rifle, and a heavy machine gun because that's all I had for void weaponry. And I was like 12 years old at the time and it was brutal because like Shadow said, there was no void subclass for hunters.
Im going through and playing through all the *available* stories. The Black Garden story to Rise of Iron, then the (annoying but unavoidable) jump to Shadowkeep through the rest into The Final Shape
I miss it SO much 😓 D2 is cool but…man, D1 offered me some of the best memories and moments of my life with friends. I still occasionally play D1 and it’s so refreshing
@@randomsoul3212Same man, D1 has that narrative experience too. D2's live service design really hurt its status as a complete package. If you buy the D1 collection for 20$ you get a series of campaigns and slowly unlock things in chronological order. In D2 they speed to along to the latest seasonal activity and even vault out old campaigns meaning that not only do you get an incomplete narrarive, but you also get no conext for whats happening cus the game just wants you caught up as soon as possible. Idk man, Destiny worked better when it appealed to Halo fans aswell as MMO fans. Nowadays D2 is just a raw MMO with a much more dilluted casual experience. D2 doesnt make me feel like a God killer mesiah Guardian who will save the universe from the darkness. Instead it makes me feel like a drone amongst the masses of other guardians. Raids arnt as impressive as they used to be, exotics dont feel good to get anymore, there are a good couple of things I think D1 did better.
@@rc08zzr600 my complaint isnt that D1 went away. My problem is that D2 didnt continue down that line of completedness. The story used to mesh better when it was expansions and updates instead of seasonal stuff. The live service model just complicated D2's story and made it ironically less accessible as a narrative experience. D1 has many problems, but one problem it didnt have was being a complete experience that you can play from start to finish. D2 by comparison has tons of content that you can no longer access and stories you can no longer experience and thats a big weakness imo.
Watching this vid and being able to remember all of those things just make me realize how unique destiny is as a game, even if there's some periods of time when I drop the game because of various circumstances I always comeback to this game. Also I like to say that the reason I'm writing this commentary it's thanks to destiny because my native language isn't English but back in d1 (I don't remember if it was during vanilla destiny or ttk) I decided to learn English all by myself only because some weapons names sounded cooler in English 🗿
7 minutes in and the amount of nostalgia that I'm already experiencing from watching this is beyond wild. I love the modern D2 but seeing all of these old things from D1 really does take me back.
My favorite quests were playing getting the 3rd subclass for all the guardians. The uniqueness of having totally different missions and the bliss you feel finally getting it. Compared to d2 where everyone just does the same mission/quest to get their subclasses.
As someone who played the open beta of D1, guys lemme tell you like an old man of how proud i felt when me as a solo player first completed a raid. Like bruh this was a moment of my life.
Yes, i never play D1 i strat with Red War and see place like IO, Titan, Tangle shore being vaulted for the Cosmodrome d2 just disgust me at the point where the Cosmodrome is the only destination i hate in that game, we don't need it into the game.
Since people are sharing their stories: I got into Destiny completely by accident. I was looking around the Xbox store for something to spend birthday money on, I was around 15 at the time. There was a free weekend for Destiny so I decided to try it out. I got instantly hooked, bought the game the next day. This was around the time House of Wolves launched and I became a hardcore player. Did things every day, preordered The Taken King, waded through the cesspool that is (was? It's been a while since I've looked) LFG to do raids, everything. I fondly remember staying up wayyyy to late at night in my basement to play (American players, remember reset being in the middle of the night?), faking being sick so I could stay home from school on the launch days for TTK and Rise of Iron, endlessly annoying my friends with stories from the lore (usually Byf's explanations, especially after the Books of Sorrow series started coming out). When D2 launched I had just moved into my own apartment and started my first semester of college. I played solidly from launch up until Season of the Hunt, bought every expansion and season pass. Around Season of the Hunt, it just became too expensive and a lot of my friends had already left the game due to either the price or just not having the time to play anymore. I didn't pick the game back up until recently, towards the beginning of Season of the Wish. My brother messaged me out of the blue asking if I still played and we got back into the game together. If it weren't for that, I probably never would have picked the game back up. I'm having a blast and now that I make enough money I've gotten every expansion I missed out on and am looking forward to Final Shape, I'm enjoying being active in the community again and discussing lore with my few friends who either still play or have picked it back up. It's hard to believe Destiny has been such a big part of my life for almost 10 years now. Even with about a 3 year gap in playing I still occasionally watched a lot of my favorite creators in the community. What started as "ehh, it's free I'll try it out" has evolved into my active participation in the largest gaming community I've ever been a part of. I've made memories that will last, if not a lifetime, certainly a long time. I'll never forget my first VoG, Crota's, or King's Fall clears, done way too late at night with random groups from LFG who were kind enough to let in someone without Gjallarhorn (I never did get the damn thing to drop until the quest in Rise of Iron). I'll never forget my first exotic ever (Suros). I for sure will never forget grinding for Thorn or those Hadium Flakes. The OG title screen and orbit music still bring emotions rushing back to me. The first clan I joined in D2, even if we parted ways when I knew I was going to be walking away from the game (they liked to keep the roster to active players, which is a position I can respect). Destiny is the first game I truly felt the community around, I'm really glad to be back. Cheers to us Destiny vets and good luck to all the New Lights, here's hoping we can press on to a bright future after Final Shape.
I always love the videos that cover D1 nostalgia. I love and miss that game, but how easy is it to forget the quality of life changes Destiny has had over the years.
I’ll forever say D1 was the best game ever, so much nostalgia in this video and so much more that wasn’t even mentioned, I met some of my best friends on that game and we still all talk to this day
I was there day one, Im glad the vault glitch was mentioned and was hoping to see other glitches being mentioned like glitching into a room to fight a servitor boss, glitching to the bottom of the reef social space, going past the boundaries on oryx ship, and glitching in out of the hanger in the tower space. There was also coins hidden in the tower for the first month for a special reward if I remember correctly.
This video brought back so many great memories. I still remember getting my first exotic, Bad Juju. When I got the exotic bounty I was ecstatic. I recall it took hours upon hours of grinding, and it was insanely good at add clear. Good times
1:38 the new adventure available notification now refers to the daily legend lost sectors. Every day at reset it lets you know there's a new one, and if you go from really low power gear to full power gear it lets you know its available because you have hit the power requirement
there is, still to this day, an emblem for that. - It seems nobody has it and it probably never drops. But I know I grinded THE HELL out of those adventures and it never dropped. I know my grind was thorough because in D2 Y1, we had to wait a year for the first expansion to drop, so after 4 months, there wasn't ANYTHING else to do in game.
I remember the reveal of destiny 2 and during the presentation one of the players mantled and the crowd went nuts. 😂😂 something so simple that we take for granted.
D1 will forever have a special place in my heart for the memories and friends I made trying to find randoms that would let me join them for raids since I couldn’t afford a mic
from the timer and countdown in the corner to the transition into the advertisement, this is a HIGH TIER youtube video my guy. great work and thanks for the nostalgia trip 🔥
The D1 subclass progression system is still my favorite. It doesn’t offer the same level of build customization as you get with certain subclasses in D2 post light 3.0, but overall it was a more rewarding system. You actually had to spend time with your subclass instead of spending a ton of glimmer at a vendor. It felt like an actual progression system, like you were both growing in power and collecting better gear constantly, instead of buying your build outright That said, 3.0 subclasses offer a ton more versatility and it’s a massive upgrade, I just personally prefer the more RPG-progression style of D1’s subclass customization. (Also Bladedancer is badass)
As a gamer who still plays D1 10 years later and has hardly experienced D2 at all, I believe this video offers me a relatively unique experience. Not having to use materials to upgrade weapons and armor, not having to pick up primary ammo, not having custom scope options, and engrams not showing which slot they’re for are all insane concepts to me
@@prismaone3164 lmfaoooo ya word of Crota was booty cheeks 😂 I used atheons epilogue cuz it was the only void gun I had and man if it wasn’t for my void nades I woulda been cooked
This is something I both miss and dont miss. The jump out of your seat excitement of getting an exotic was amazing, but it's also lame not being able to get all the exotics within a reasonable amount of time. D2 definitely makes exotics feel a bit cheap but honestly it is the better system
The joy and excitement I've found in gaming surpass any other experiences, making them the pinnacle of fun in my life. But Destiny 1 was more than just a game; it was a defining chapter of my life, filled with unforgettable adventures and friendships.
Don't forget Sparrow Racing League! SRL is so goated and yet they took it from us!! Oh, and don't forget Combined Arms. Big maps and vehicles and turrets to use?? Yes please!!!
#8: I still have my 0 damage Traveler's Chosen (Damaged), along with some other goodies. #9: I remember my material routes for Mars and and Moon. I might have done others, but these stand out for me. #10.5: One of the better sponsor performances I've seen. Well done. #16: Prison of Elders, still one of my favorite activities. #28: I never knew about how to get up there until now, but I did use that same exact glitch to get to another area up high. I ran along the beams, and jumped onto the corner awning. #33: I still have the Hunter and Titan class-specific armor materials in my vault. Shame I never grabbed the Warlock material. #34: My brother and buddy played the beta. They convinced me to play, but I first tried to launch it the day it ended. So I'm technically just a day 1 player. #38: This economy was so much healthier for the game. Legendary Marks had real value, and I was always excited to have enough if a vendor had something I wanted to buy. #39: I actually still have Iron Banner bounties on my Hunter for D1. Can't complete them, and can't grab them again. Just funny to have them still. #42: I still have deprecated weapon mods in my vault. #65: Spamming the clown horn during SRL. Ah yes, those were the days. #69: I love the music in Destiny 2, but there's just something magical about D1's music, especially in orbit. Must be all that nostalgia hitting me. Awesome video. Thanks for reminding us of the memories.
I think exotics should be far more difficult and rare to obtain, because for at least for me it feels like getting a slightly rare legendary, but in d1 using a three of coins and playing strikes and crucible seeing an exotic engram drop was exhilarating.
Man what a ride it has been to see the destiny story finally come full circle with the final shape . D1 will always hold a special place in my heart . Grasp of malok with third eye was too good back then
The amount of things i was reminded of in this video that I didnt even know I still remembered absolutely blows my mind. What a trip down memory lane. I truly thank you for all the nostalgia this video gave me.
I really liked the longer quest that you had to do in D1, like touch of malice or raze lighter loved the grind for those longer style quest that most will consider tedious.
False. It stuck out because it was the only looter shooter with a legit PVP Scene. Without PVP it'd be just like The Division, Anthem, and all the other "Destiny Killers."
Grinding for Relic Iron in D1 was how I met one of my best friends. I was just running a loop with another friend when a random started running with us, we gave each other a squat hello, pulled him into our party. Turned out we lived in the same street. We are still friends to this day and even we’re roommates for a few years.
#69 and the orbit music just hit me like a brick. The HOURS spent in orbit waiting for Fireteams to do raids trying juuuuust slip in before the weekly reset. I've fallen asleep and woke up to that music many times
D1 Y1 is a time I truly wish I could lock in a time capsule. It was my senior year of high school and I was at my lowest. I had like 28 days in year 1 alone and I'd actually look up how to get the full grimoire score because I couldn't get enough of it. I loved learning how to run each possible role in a raid and I still clearly remember my old raid team after all this time. I still chat with one to this day! I'd run solo Nightfalls and if you hopped me in the old maps I can still probably effortlessly do mat runs. I couldn't afford to play Taken King because on the 360 at launch you had to buy the full $60 edition to play just the expansion. It was fixed like 3-4 months later but it's when I took a break from Destiny. D2 never clicked for me and playing the Destiny Collection on Xbox One was such a joy.
One of the things i remember the most about year 1 of destiny was finding that spot to glitch out of the map and get into a mission from house of wolves with enemies and everything. Was crazy at the time that they had code in the game already and decided to hold it off for a dlc
Destiny 1 will always have a place in my heart. I remember graduating high school, was given an Xbox One MCC (Master Chief Collection) and got to pick out a game. Went to GameStop, browsed around for a little and stumbled upon Destiny. I liked the thought of a sci-fi shooter and thought I would give it a try. Didn’t really think it would stick since it was on sale for like 20 bucks. Ever since then, I never looked back and that game took over my life. I remember getting an absolute god roll of an Eyasluna, the rush of landing headshots with the longbow and everything in between. Although the game never had proper balancing it genuinely was the first of its kind and will be hard to replicate.
As clunky and unhelpful a lot of things in D1 were, what made me fall in love with it was how much community support there was. I still remember my first LFG on Vault of Glass
Would love to see a full 10 minute+ video of you making full-length sentences with just gun names. That advertisement with all the gun name cameos was gold!
I still remember hearing about destiny and being so hyped for it, loved the beta and that got me hooked. Destiny 1 holds so many good memories for me, been mainly solo throughout my journey but I've managed get a couple of raids done 😊 P.s you forgot to mention how difficult nightfalls used to be and you used to be able to see who had done a nightfall because they had a glowing aura around their head
A day I will never forget was when I was playing some crucible with my friend back in vanilla destiny. I had only learned that exotics are the pinnacle of all loot, and to get an exotic was a major step forward when it comes to progression. Anyway we were going at it until we see that someone that went by the name of “Titan Joe” had joined near the end of the game. We were amused by the name and when the game ended we could see him at the bottom of the leaderboard. 0 kills, 0 deaths… no contribution to the game whatsoever. So the loot was starting to appear, top to bottom, revealing all of our loot until it had finally reached the fabled Titan Joe… he had won himself an icebreaker… There are no words to describe the range of emotions we had felt. On one hand it was hilarious to see someone join a game just for it to end as soon as they spawned to snag themselves an exotic. But on the other hand we had given it our all just to be slapped senseless by Bungie for our hubris.
I started playing Destiny 1 on PS4, and I remember that about two weeks after the game was launched in September 2014, a huge update was released which drastically improved graphics. The floor of the Tower North looked way better than before.
Oh the memories. Started with XBox 360. Oh yeah, loading times. That wait in orbit with the music, i miss that, so soothing. Then the patrol grind, back and forth. Some of the exotic gun missions were 'too hard' for my group and I never got a couple in D1. Sad. I did love the Fabian for my Titan and even used a shotgun then. finally, the Tower. so much fun and nonsense in there. the conga lines ending in everyone jumping off, climbing the trees and yes, trying to get on top of the vaults. I do miss that.
I'll never forget when I got gjallarhorn in destiny 1. I decided to play crucible for the first time ever in the 3v3 mode. My team got absolutely destroyed. I particularly did horribly. I was already thinking that was enough crucible for the rest of my Destiny existence. Then bam that sweet sweet exotic sound and gjallarhorn.
17:41 I remember that I got a luck in the chamber sniper with 3 bullets in the mag from those test weapons xD It was very fun one shotting someone on a body hit
the fact that i had less than 100hrs played in D1 due to personal reasons it is one of if not the most interesting game experiences ive ever had just returning to D2 from a 2 year break but being day 1 D2 player and have spent barely anytime actually playing D2 i’m now souly stuck on D2 so i don’t regret what I did in D1 D2 is amazing no matter the circumstances it’s the best at what it presents IMO
Thanks Shadow... you made me feel old and reminded me that some of my favorite exotics won't be returning to D2 (Dregs Promise, Super Good Advice, The Exotic Class Items, and Zen Meteor)

I remember tethering the dogs on the final leviathan encounter to get orbs 😂
I mean ammo wasn’t really an issue you just popped heavy ammo synth
I remember this vividly. And then God forbid you had to wipe again or someone did something stupid to kill us all
@@dizzy7526synth had timers. And if you had a fast wipe, you'd have no ammo and have to wait. I also remember strategically leaving ammo boxes on the ground
I will never forget my first crucible match with a vex on the enemy team
I was playing crucible with a friend in year one and I was pretty new to the game.
I FORGOT ABOUT THE PROMOTIONAL STUFF
@@Kaptain13Gonzo absolutely, thank you sir, for your kind words.
My condolences fellow guardian
We lived the same experience to a tee haha
21:21 That hits hard man
Best gaming days of my life
Agreed
The "new adventure" bug isnt a bug, it signaled the daily reset, now replaced with "new legend lost sector available"
Edit: spelling mistake
im assuming it got changed to lost sector when they added the daily legendary/master LS icon to the directory map
Yeah happens every day on reset, or if you clear the LS for the first time to unlock the node.
Who's here because they feel nostalgic after The Final Shape?
Meeee!!!
Yup!
Im going through and playing through all the *available* stories. The Black Garden story to Rise of Iron, then the (annoying but unavoidable) jump to Shadowkeep through the rest into The Final Shape

Sitting on the ledge with your fireteam got me
I miss it SO much 😓 D2 is cool but…man, D1 offered me some of the best memories and moments of my life with friends. I still occasionally play D1 and it’s so refreshing
Reading this comment hurts because honestly that’s how I feel, I tried with D2 hard, but I just could never love it like I did Destiny.
It’s not like it went away. You can still play it lol. When you are done we’ll be here to hear how much better d2 actually is.
Og ice breaker sniper rifle was the shit
Damn bro I can't lie. The original loading screen and music sent chills down my spine. Man those were good times and memories
The cosmodrome in D2 feels like i made it in blender after 2 weeks of practicing 3D modelling.
In D1 it looks fantastic.
Yes, i never play D1 i strat with Red War and see place like IO, Titan, Tangle shore being vaulted for the Cosmodrome d2 just disgust me at the point where the Cosmodrome is the only destination i hate in that game, we don't need it into the game.
Since people are sharing their stories:
I got into Destiny completely by accident.
I’ll forever say D1 was the best game ever, so much nostalgia in this video and so much more that wasn’t even mentioned, I met some of my best friends on that game and we still all talk to this day
There is nothing better in this world than Destiny 1 soundtrack, literally
They honestly need to bring back most if not all of the D1 soundtrack, even if it’s only for orbit.
@@Joemama-xw2wy old orbit sound
I was there day one, Im glad the vault glitch was mentioned and was hoping to see other glitches being mentioned like glitching into a room to fight a servitor boss, glitching to the bottom of the reef social space, going past the boundaries on oryx ship, and glitching in out of the hanger in the tower space. There was also coins hidden in the tower for the first month for a special reward if I remember correctly.
Yeah, i remember that the thorn quest as a hunter was the sole reason im as good with snipers as i am today. Pure Hell
I like how there coming back in final shape
I remember the reveal of destiny 2 and during the presentation one of the players mantled and the crowd went nuts. 😂😂 something so simple that we take for granted.
D1 will forever have a special place in my heart for the memories and friends I made trying to find randoms that would let me join them for raids since I couldn’t afford a mic
This is so relatable lol
The original theme makes me wanna cry
from the timer and countdown in the corner to the transition into the advertisement, this is a HIGH TIER youtube video my guy. great work and thanks for the nostalgia trip 🔥
Cayde stash is my favorite mission of all time. Nobody can tell me zero hour is better than that experience
True, but Regicide can go toe to toe with any mission
@@Soulsebb I prefer The Ruling House myself.
@@thecrimsoncommando3875 All of these are goated. D1 had the best missions, even the vanilla D1 campaign was pretty goated despite its flaws.
Nah that loading screen and music almost made me cry. I NEED destiny 1 back
The D1 subclass progression system is still my favorite. It doesn’t offer the same level of build customization as you get with certain subclasses in D2 post light 3.0, but overall it was a more rewarding system. You actually had to spend time with your subclass instead of spending a ton of glimmer at a vendor. It felt like an actual progression system, like you were both growing in power and collecting better gear constantly, instead of buying your build outright
That said, 3.0 subclasses offer a ton more versatility and it’s a massive upgrade, I just personally prefer the more RPG-progression style of D1’s subclass customization. (Also Bladedancer is badass)
As a gamer who still plays D1 10 years later and has hardly experienced D2 at all, I believe this video offers me a relatively unique experience. Not having to use materials to upgrade weapons and armor, not having to pick up primary ammo, not having custom scope options, and engrams not showing which slot they’re for are all insane concepts to me
OG Thorn quest was absolutely insane thank god I was a voidlock! Although, when I finally completed it I got a feeling of bliss that I never got in D2
I did that quest on hunter, it was my only character at that time) And used The Comedian and The Swarm for void kills in Crucible
I glitched the quest with sparrow racing 😂
@@txmako sparrow racing? That gamemode came out after the quest got removed.
i just used the word of crota and boy that gun was really bad in pvp
@@prismaone3164 lmfaoooo ya word of Crota was booty cheeks 😂 I used atheons epilogue cuz it was the only void gun I had and man if it wasn’t for my void nades I woulda been cooked

I miss scope options so much not just for the stats but the looks
9:30 LONG LIVE THE HALFWAY TO 30 CLUB. The pain was so real for weeks on end, the stairsteps in power back then were insane
Back when an exotic was rare and actually exotic…
This is something I both miss and dont miss. The jump out of your seat excitement of getting an exotic was amazing, but it's also lame not being able to get all the exotics within a reasonable amount of time. D2 definitely makes exotics feel a bit cheap but honestly it is the better system
@@taestottyea
the nostalgia made me so happy and it’s crazy how Destiny has changed so much in 10 years. Loved the journey with my fellow Guardians
the fact that the tower has been under reconstruction for 6 years is crazy
Not really lol I mean look at everything that has been going on
21:23 makes me wanna cry. I miss these days so much ❤
Kudos for making me watch an entire sponsored segment! You are a genius! Well done 🎉
The joy and excitement I've found in gaming surpass any other experiences, making them the pinnacle of fun in my life. But Destiny 1 was more than just a game; it was a defining chapter of my life, filled with unforgettable adventures and friendships.
God its stuff like this that makes me appreciate all the more how far we have come and even take some of for granted
I usually skip ads, but when I noticed that you put your own Destiny twist on your ad announcement I had to watch the whole ad. Very creative dude!
I miss adventures in D2. They were nice quick little missions.
11:28 i LOVED doing stuff like this to get to random areas to sit at on the tower
Remember what they took from us! HORNS ON OUR SPARROWS NEED TO RETURN
I want the qwack back dammit
Gjallerhorn was amazing, I remember getting it on my first raid run with a new group and everyone was so pissed 😂
I think exotics should be far more difficult and rare to obtain, because for at least for me it feels like getting a slightly rare legendary, but in d1 using a three of coins and playing strikes and crucible seeing an exotic engram drop was exhilarating.

It would be atrociously difficult to get exotics with the stats you want

destiny 2 is child’s play compared to destiny 1
Damn right

I miss destiny 1 so much. I think about all my times with it
It’s way more nostalgic but better, no.
The only sponsor I have actually payed attention to. The weapon names being part of the sponsor was hilarious 😂
I actually watched your ad because of the puns. Clever "delivery"
Notice how like 90% of the nerfs are because of PVP? Yeah, Destiny would have been much better without any PVP.
False. It stuck out because it was the only looter shooter with a legit PVP Scene. Without PVP it'd be just like The Division, Anthem, and all the other "Destiny Killers."
@@MrBlackJaQ false. You are wrong.
Nah I think if they just properly tested PvP it wouldn’t be so annoying
Man, what a time. Can’t believe Destiny 1 will be 10 years old this year. I remember coming home from school in 8th grade and sitting at the loot cave
Just boot up Destiny all this shit is still there 😭
The sponsor edits and writing was very clever! Loved the vid Shadow Dest
Grinding for Relic Iron in D1 was how I met one of my best friends. I was just running a loop with another friend when a random started running with us, we gave each other a squat hello, pulled him into our party. Turned out we lived in the same street. We are still friends to this day and even we’re roommates for a few years.
I think this takes the cake for the most nostalgic video on youtube
The modern subclass _System_ is absolutely amazing. Fits things perfectly...
What's awful is the aspects _Interface._
The most favorite part of this video is the gun puns! I laughed hard inside every time another gun just appeared! Good usage of humor! 👌
the best ad sponsor plug I have ever seen. Also this was a massive trip down memory lane. D1 was such an awesome game
Ty
As clunky and unhelpful a lot of things in D1 were, what made me fall in love with it was how much community support there was. I still remember my first LFG on Vault of Glass
20:39 omfg I missed these so much as soon as they were removed.. I unironically loved these :(
Would love to see a full 10 minute+ video of you making full-length sentences with just gun names. That advertisement with all the gun name cameos was gold!
I still remember hearing about destiny and being so hyped for it, loved the beta and that got me hooked. Destiny 1 holds so many good memories for me, been mainly solo throughout my journey but I've managed get a couple of raids done 😊
P.s you forgot to mention how difficult nightfalls used to be and you used to be able to see who had done a nightfall because they had a glowing aura around their head
i cant believe i remember all of these. also did i just see you get rangefinder on a matador? wth?
5:58 I'll never forget Datto's "rare, blue-quality sparrows".
So the loot was starting to appear, top to bottom, revealing all of our loot until it had finally reached the fabled Titan Joe… he had won himself an icebreaker…
There are no words to describe the range of emotions we had felt.
It is absolutely crazy how I still remember everything even if this all was 10 years ago…
17:41 I remember that I got a luck in the chamber sniper with 3 bullets in the mag from those test weapons xD It was very fun one shotting someone on a body hit
This Video was amazing I’m actually so happy, I had played all this and could remember all the wonderful moments again!
the fact that i had less than 100hrs played in D1 due to personal reasons
it is one of if not the most interesting game experiences ive ever had
just returning to D2 from a 2 year break but being day 1 D2 player and have spent barely anytime actually playing D2 i’m now souly stuck on D2 so i don’t regret what I did in D1
D2 is amazing no matter the circumstances
it’s the best at what it presents IMO
Ah yes the original Destiny loading screen music. The music that you did not stop talking over, that music. So memorable.
Thanks Shadow... you made me feel old and reminded me that some of my favorite exotics won't be returning to D2 (Dregs Promise, Super Good Advice, The Exotic Class Items, and Zen Meteor)
Destiny 1 orbit music hits different. Wow that sent me back.
I haven’t played destiny since 2022 but it’s good to take a trip down memory lane….man I miss the old days 🥲
