I love the superstar Barbies too and like you, I am finding fewer of them in thrift stores. When they are just $1 I buy them as I love making then recreations of their original outfits. Love your videos!!
Always a good day when you upload! ❤
Aww, thank you 🥰
That blue is dress with flower is a gem a gem it's Oscar de la Renta barbie collab from the 80s I have it and a red dress also it comes with a jacket very lucky you found it!
I’m glad I did too! I didnt think much of it until people in the comments let me know where it was from!
Great video. I believe that Barbie is the Dreamtime Barbie. Also, you’re so lucky, I’ve been looking for the California Barbie.
I did not think to check dreamtime barbie! I think dreamtime barbie has different shape to her eyebrows and some different eye shadow.
I just Love thrifting babrie dolls. Thanks for sharing yours/
Love these so much! PJ is so beautiful. Love the Birthday Barbie, too. The Barbie Extra is way different, but so cute! Great haul.
Hi aunt meme! It's nice to hear from you! How have you been?
@@somelikeitvntg I’m good and I hope you are, too! I’m so happy to see your channel growing. (I had no doubt it would.) Have a great week!
Yes, Manny is here! What a feeling! I like the "guess the doll" approach, so funny! Very beautiful dolls... Thanks for your superstar thrifting insights, very interesting! I like your PJ so much... Petra Jerónima? So pretty 💙
Yes, I am barely here! Haha. I am alive! Is that PJs full name?? or was that a guess? lol
@@somelikeitvntg hehe, Petra Jerónima is just nonsense... Copypasting: "One P.J. doll, 1983 Dream Date P.J.™, was described as “Barbie™ Doll's Cousin” on her box, though this was never mentioned anywhere else. To date, Mattel has declared that the initials P.J.™ don't stand for anything, that it is simply the character's name."
oh nice! Yes I love PJ! And her later incarnation Princesa Laura!
@@somelikeitvntg 😁🤩👍
It's a dolly miracle she arrived in decent shape considering that packing... Praise the Dolly Lama!!!! XDDDD
The fixer uppers are great! For the broken necks you can use air-dry clay or epoxy to resculpt the neck but first make sure to add the ball anchor inside the neck before you start because once done it's impossible to place it back without breaking the neck again...
Seriosly! She was on the road for almost a whole week! Praise Dolly Lama!!
Thank you! I’m excited to fix my broken dolly
I love your videos! There so easy to watch and unwind with! Your voice is very calming and I also love to watch anything Barbie related. BTW, your glow up of the original Totally hair Barbie hair was amazing! Loved how you re crimped her hair! Turned out great!
thank you so much :)
I love the superstars from the early eighties. I just thrifted the happy birthday doll from 1981 (the one with the mullet). I curled her hair with straws and boil washed her so we’ll see how it goes. Peaches and Cream is one of my must gets. Congrats on finding her!
That’s a great find! I hope I can find a 81’ happy birthday barbie!
WOOW, P&C Barbie, Yo tengo las versiones México (Spectacular) y Taiwán, LINDAS!🤩🤩
11:52 If I'm not mistaken, that gown is Barbie's Oscar dela Renta Fashion from 1984 or 1985. And the Barbie tag is on the cape of that dress.
Thank you for identifying this for me! I’m so glad I kept the dress.
It is I have it! Beautiful dress
It has tag on jacket of the dress it not not on the dress sadly Mattel made it that way sadly
@@somelikeitvntgYou're welcome! I'm a Superstar Barbie collector that's why I know every fashions of that era. 😊😊😊
I did go to a local thrift store and found a superstar era barbie with all the "diamond" earrings and necklace and what appears to be a talking Barbie of some sort. $8.00!
Oh nice! That jewelry is so hard to find
Great finds, I've seen loosey goosey legs happen on model muse even new in box just opened ones a couple of times. No idea what's going on there, i would just sew together a lil tight mini underskirt using a nude Pantyhose to keep the legs together. The barbie extra you find I have to get another of her too 😄 she's got a pretty rare skintone that's a deeper more orange tan. Could be a match for the new Odile mermaid. 😄 she along with the pink braid extra doll will be sought after as body donors i bet, because there are almost no articulated Standard heeled feet bodies in those skintones.
That’s a good idea tor my model muse!
And I also hope my barbie extra is a match for the new odile!! I will definitely be getting the new odile
🤗🎈🔥😍🎈🔥💞💕
Wish I could find some good ones at the thrift stores. Around here all Barbie figures are $20+, even at the thrift stores…which take themselves waaay too seriously.
I’ve been trying to fix the hair on one of my Playmates Star Trek Worf figures. It’s wild. Tried a few different things I’ve found online and that hair always pops back up. Got it tied back with a little rubber band, now.
Have you tried pouring boiling water over it?
@@somelikeitvntg I’ve done boiling water, alcohol, and I’ve used hair spray. After a few days it always jumps back up. Ha. It’s not in the best of shape anyway - cigarette burns, missing finger. Whoever had it before me really trashed it.
Nice frames, Manny!
ty Blake!
@@somelikeitvntg You're always welcome. These are very nice finds.
i think you are so fortunate to live in L.A. now as a Barbie collector because it is a Barbie Mecca over there.
There are things that you'll find in that city, most of us on the east coast can only dream to find in the wild. i'm curious to see what else you'll share on this journey.
@BlakeGildaphish76 Yes I agree! I did not realize it would be like this here in Cali
This is 100% dream date barbie
I thought so! Thanks
