The black-haired Barbie is Masquerade Gala Illusion, from 1997 or 1998, not sure which. She was part of a series, and they are all gorgeous, but you're right, she's something special.
"It's not about you Ken" Literally me when I found a Swan Lake In box doll buried in a pile at a toy show and got so excited thinking it was Odette or fairy queen but it was actually prince Daniel 😂. I felt kind of bad though immediately afterwards. Almost bought him out of guilt. 🤣Loved the video as always~
You always find such incredible things in your thrift hunts! I have an original Midge that my mother passed down to me, and whenever she starts getting a little sticky, I scrub her down with some baking soda and it takes care of it easy.
as someone who has only ever lived in alabama it is so interesting to see you shopping at places i am familiar with lol we have different interests tbh but are still toy collectors and its fun to see you find things i would've just completely overlooked
37:01 Masquerade Gala Collection Illusion Barbie from 1977, She is gorgeous! You find it in a great condition, wow! Now I want this one too, and just yesterday bought online a Carol Burnett Barbie "Went with the wind" I was longing, LOL! Great thrifting and haul, greetings from Mexico.
53:22 To remove stickiness from vintage dolls, baby powder works very well and is safe for plastic and rubber, some people use cornstarch, but I think it can create mold over time, so I prefer baby powder.
I looooove your trifft videos ❤❤❤❤❤ never stop making them. Here in Germany these stores are so rare and maybe just 2 tiny rooms and like 5 Babries if you're Lucky. I uave to go to carboot sales to look. I wiiish we had these massive stores ❤❤❤
YESSSS the butterfly princess barbie was my FAVORITE growing up 😢❤ the rose wand is magnetic so the butterflies on her dress flap their wings when you touch them w the wand 😭😭😭💕 such a good haul though omg
My grandma went super hard on the beanie baby collecting in the 90s. I was really young so i don't remember much about prices, but she would give us tag protectors for all our beanie babies and get mad if we took the tags off 😂
My sisters and I had the periwinkle fairy Barbie dress!! I don't know who it belonged to originally (we probably got it used) but it's so cool to see it again!
Omg girl you are my thrift sister! I am literally the same when looking around for Barbies, you are so lucky to be around so many places to look, and wearetoys I shop there all the time! I recently went out and found the 1990 xmas barbie and I literally screamed in the damn store, I was looking everywhere for her for a good price!!!!
The Barbie outfit that appears in the box exists, but in red. It's calles Red Flare and it's fairly easy to get. I'm not entirely sure yours is the redhead Midge, she might be the blonde one which is more of a strawberry blonde. It's hard to tell with the light. And yes, the lips were most likely repainted
I literally went to the 2nd location as well as nostalgia earlier today xD Such great finds! I picked up the case with the Maxie dolls and the Cut n Style Barbie, which for $13 I thought was fair lol. She did have actual (child safe) scissors, but the intended purpose was to just cut the hair that attaches to the velcro bit and buy refill packs to keep the fun going
I had one of those balance birds (a cardinal!) I got on a vacation as a child and I was OBSESSED with it. I looove those birds! Grats on your Midge find! If you find more vintage dolls that need love, Twin Pines sells a lot of vintage doll restoration products. I use them myself on my early 60's Barbies. If you google "twin pines dolls" they should be the top hit.
ive been looking for a doll collector youtuber for such a long time and i absolutely love your channel !!!! i love the minimal editing and your personality and commentary makes these long videos fun to watch :)
funny story, i actually technically also have an original midge doll, but the brown-haired version. when my mom was a kid around the 70s her family bought a used car and my mom found her-unfortunately without clothes-in the trunk!
the pink pump thing is a brand called Monday shampoo, which is also manufactured by Zuru which also manufactures MiniBrands. Monday shampoo is for human hair lol, its really good I personally use it myself. Also Zuru is a NZ company, and I know this as I live, also in NZ. thank you for coming to my ted talk.
What a fun haul. I love to see your hunt . Thank you for sharing. I learned new pokemon info too. The black haired barbie is pretty. I have plenty of vintage midge dolls. They seem to be in better shape than vintage barbie most of the time. You found one in great condition. She is very old. A toothbrush and soap will clean her up easy. Her lips should match her nails so she may have been touched up. I love midge. The songbird if out of box never has her bird. We had a jakks barbie type princess doll rapunzel. She had a beautiful dress well made. The outfit on the case looks like a vintage outfit but a different color. It was red. Silken flame I think it was. A red coat over a red and white dress. It's not too expensive and there was a reproduction too with a doll. Yup you had a vintage ken stand in the other video.
Hiya! I've recently been replacing my stolen old Barbies. Still had my sisters' Black Bubble cut, Ken hard head blonde, & a few newer. (Just had everything in storage much too long). The red-headed Barbie in the case? She's a Bubble Cut Red headed Barbie! Hair's chopped. The blond doll, is 1967 Barbie #1160, and the other lady is correct: Mod Casey. But a new, special type, at the time: TNT -Twist and Turn, the very first Barbie to move at the waist! And Platinum blonde is the rarest, (I have TNT Brunette). Your red-headed Midge? Just wash her in Dawn dish soap, scrub gently with a soft, clean toothbrush. Then w/warm water, fill the sink like for dishes, and gently rinse her out. I do use Loreal conditioner on hair, and rinse it out. If you wish to pull her head off, I'd suggest to gently tie her hair together with a rubber band, or plastic coated twistie tie. I used a 2 cup soup bowl half full, put it into the microwave for about 2 minutes, until it's just below boiling. Boiling is fine, I just get nervous. Then turn her upside down, head to shoulders for 5 minutes. You need the neck post and the neck area to BOTH be soft, so you can gently wiggle the head off, without damaging it. Remember, you're dealing with a 60 year old fishing lure skin colored head, put onto a spin-casted hollow body. If she has straight legs, they are also a type of resin. If bendable, they are the stiffer fishing lure material, Yes - stiffer versions of Thingmakers, which are also fishing lure material - which I also collect. As for the cover? The yellow outfit is red, and I have both the dress, "Silken Flame," and the velvet overcoat called, "Red Flame." Both came with a hat and a clutch purse. I do hope this helps! You're welcome to contact me, I'm just getting back into this. BTW, I was gifted a few years back a human sized version of the, "Red Flame," coat, except in black! Thread gave in the shoulder, but the internal satin has to be opened up to re-stitch it. So happy to have it! BTW, I love to reroot hair on Barbies. I'm in the process of procuring the correct hair, for the correct dolls. Bubble cuts are stiffer than the original Poodle bang, Pony tail #1-4 ones. She's like 2nd gen Bubble cut, which I adore! Enjoy your lovely acquisition! Your entire collection trumps mine - just glad that you have them, to be honest
When beanie babies came out I would purchase 6 of each one (1 for me and 1 for each kid)! We had So Many by the time I quit buying them! I gave a couple of big bins away to a medical center to hand out to kids and I still have a bunch 😍
I grew up all through the 90s , I remember waiting in lines that were half a mile long to get beanie babies, especially the bears so I could resell them and buy concert tickets as a teen. I sold 2 princess bears and the Canadian bear for almost 800 bucks one time. The I got the worm one time and resold him for 700 then 98-99 hit and the poor things tanked in price and worth. However Ty said they are gonna rerelease them. I still have a couple dozen with tags .
I still have my childhood Crystal Barbie. I do not have any of her accessories so I made new ones out of rhinestone stickers and made her a new wrap from an iridescent wire ribbon. I’ve been working on restoring my old dolls. During the pandemic, I called it Treasure Hunting from Home.
Ugh you found a Marie Osmond doll! I had the Donnie and Marie dolls when I was little. I got them for my 4th Christmas with Quick Curl Barbie and Malibu Ken. Sadly I got rid of all 4 of them at a garage sale when I was a little older.
If nobody has told you yet …the blonde short haired doll that was in the Midge case is Casey. I had her when I was a kid. Wish I still had all my Barbie and friends with all my accessories but my mom gave them to some of my younger cousins. I have however purchased some when I started collecting about 40+ years ago.
It's my dream to go on a thrift trip across the country and world! Right now I am just trying to get across my state. Love your channel and collection! Keep doing what you do.
At the first antique mall you visited, the Barbie whose face that you thought was gorgeous wearing the yellow top is 2014 Birthday Wishes Barbie. Regarding the Midge case and the yellow outfit: the outfit is from a fashion pack called Red Flare. To my knowledge, they never made the outfit in yellow like on the case and it's always been red. There is a 1998 reproduction of the outfit with doll if you really wanted the outfit but, again, it's in red.
The blonde girl in that case that you liked with the chewed up feet is a Mod Casey...she's the same sculpt as Twiggy but Twiggy has very dark eyeliner, and seems to be much rarer (although I have 2, LOL)... Casey came with a metal earring that interacted with the vinyl and caused green ear, so check for that, as it's much harder to remove than from the vintage Barbies - the recipe for the vinyl is different, I guess. I soaked a doll with green ear in something that was recommended to me on a Barbie FB group, but it ended up turning the green stain brown, so she's still stained, and I don't know how to get rid of it. I got so excited to see Casey! 🥰 Made me think how would I react if you filmed something I'm really after (and I love american dolls which are hard to find here in the UK) - even wondered if it would be worth the price of an airline ticket!!😂😂
a lot of very serious Barbie people may be 2nd or 3rd generation collectors. These are people that grew up in households where Doll of World and Holiday Barbies were priced collector's items that couldn't be unboxed. so for some people there are a lot of feelings attached to the Barbie brand. And if they don't have them, they are being bought up super quick. I know i covet some of the early 70s dolls, and have been rebuying them anytime i see them out.
I think that is blond midge from 63. It looks like the hair might have oxidized. It was very common just look at cissy or revlon. Their hair turns the same color but is still concidered blond by collectors.

Thank you!!
as someone who has only ever lived in alabama it is so interesting to see you shopping at places i am familiar with lol we have different interests tbh but are still toy collectors and its fun to see you find things i would've just completely overlooked
I still have a DVD player and so do my parents. I still watch dvds as well
Me too.
I haven't had much luck this summer thrifting, but recently I found a blond licca doll and a disney fairies Vidia doll. Love your thrifting videos!
53:22 To remove stickiness from vintage dolls, baby powder works very well and is safe for plastic and rubber, some people use cornstarch, but I think it can create mold over time, so I prefer baby powder.
I just love looking at dolls too! 30:01 was a big nostalgia moment. I had that Jody doll and my neighbor had Marie Osmond.

I’ve just discovered this channel and now I want to spend the rest of my life searching for dolls in second hand shops.
YESSSS the butterfly princess barbie was my FAVORITE growing up 😢❤ the rose wand is magnetic so the butterflies on her dress flap their wings when you touch them w the wand 😭😭😭💕 such a good haul though omg
42:32 What about the orb "apparently" coming out of the unicorn's horn? That was cool! So random!
That’s what dust looks like on camera with bright filming lights usually.
The sound you made when you found the three headed dragon 😂 omg it scared me. I was not expecting that
My grandma went super hard on the beanie baby collecting in the 90s. I was really young so i don't remember much about prices, but she would give us tag protectors for all our beanie babies and get mad if we took the tags off 😂
Lovely dolls glad you found Midge 😊 too . Thank you for showing your shopping video and your purchase’s .
My sisters and I had the periwinkle fairy Barbie dress!! I don't know who it belonged to originally (we probably got it used) but it's so cool to see it again!
your thrift hunts are my favourite comfort videos
the toothfairy barbie you got was my fav as a kid, I always wanted to get my hands on her one more time
Omg girl you are my thrift sister! I am literally the same when looking around for Barbies, you are so lucky to be around so many places to look, and wearetoys I shop there all the time! As a Barbie collector, I hate the snobby Barbie collectors who are so stingy about rules and such with Barbie. Like dude, it's a doll calm down.
ive been looking for a doll collector youtuber for such a long time and i absolutely love your channel !!!! i love the minimal editing and your personality and commentary makes these long videos fun to watch :)

We need more vintage 60s and 70s Barbie content from you! Cheers!
I wish!! It’s tough to find them 😭 I did find some the other day so you’ll likely see that haul before the end of the month ;)

I also collect precious moments figurines. My great-grandmother had a bunch of them and I have loved them ever since

vintage barbie is awesome !
I don't even collect American Girl but that beach chair was precious and would be coming with me!!
The Miss Tiny Teen dress in the Barbie case is from a doll I just posted about on Dollect, Uneeda Tiny Teens!
The thought of hazing new dolls by making them drink A1 steak sauce is hilarious
When beanie babies came out I would purchase 6 of each one (1 for me and 1 for each kid)! We had So Many by the time I quit buying them! I gave a couple of big bins away to a medical center to hand out to kids and I still have a bunch 😍
Oh yes! Cut n Style did infact come with real scissors!

The blonde barbie in the case you found is Casey (francies best friend) released in 1967. She is from the mod era. Hope this helps❤😊
OMG I'm dead XD The weird Pocahontas is from a mockbuster by the company Golden Films. I can't believe they actually made a doll from it XD
Being able to use a pogo stick is such a flex in my eyes, that's super impressive
Great finds, love the midge case and doll find :)
Great finds ❤
It's my dream to go on a thrift trip across the country and world! Right now I am just trying to get across my state. Love your channel and collection! Keep doing what you do.
Wish we had thriftstore like this in France!!!
That blond doll towards the end was Francie's friend Casey.

We always have country-time lemonade on hand lol.
At the first antique mall you visited, the Barbie whose face that you thought was gorgeous wearing the yellow top is 2014 Birthday Wishes Barbie.

There is a 1998 reproduction of the outfit with doll if you really wanted the outfit but, again, it's in red.
the balancing bird works by the putting the beak on your fingertip and its tail facing away from you
The outfit on the case midge is wearing that you asked about is called Red Flare
The celebration doll was Marie Osmond, next to the Charlie's Angels dolls.
The blonde girl in that case that you liked with the chewed up feet is a Mod Casey...she's the same sculpt as Twiggy but Twiggy has very dark eyeliner, and seems to be much rarer (although I have 2, LOL)... 24:31 is a fashion fever
I enjoyed your thrift video very much.
I have that Angel of Joy Barbie. She is really pretty. 😊
Brilliant video always
I think that is blond midge from 63. It looks like the hair might have oxidized. It was very common just look at cissy or revlon. Their hair turns the same color but is still concidered blond by collectors.
24:34 - That's Fashion Fever Summer J1413 from 2006.
I really do want the pregnant midge doll but she was still really expensive!
I think I heard that the older barbies used mohair, so maybe midge has that hairtype?
What was the store in atx though 👀 if it's still open to your knowledge?
It’s gone :(

What is the name of that monkey baby doll in the beginning? So cute
Moncchichi:)
So fun to hunt!!
I had that Amazing Nails Kayla doll.
Awesome finds! 🎉 POGO 😂😅
puppylove! super cute

Fun fact box date is when it was manufactured then the Barbie release is not the same as box date
Yes I know :) that’s why I was so shocked by people being so rude about me saying I wasn’t sure if the box date aligned with actual release! Because they were wrong to say it was the same every time haha
I got a vintage midge at the thrift store what type of hair does she have? It feels horrible like wire or hay.
A lot of 1960s Barbie advertisements say the dolls have Saran hair. I couldn't find one for Midge secifically but from what I've seen and heard all dolls from the early 60s have the same super nasty hair. So, it's most likely is a very weird grade of Saran.
@@eclaircollects8800 Thank you! I was wondering because I never felt doll hair like it.
I think our use of terms like Saran and nylon is very biased towards the “standard” versions of those fibers honestly. Like Saran is just a grade of plastic (saran wrap) so it very well could just be a lower grade of Saran haha
The Barbies are dead 🤣 girl you made my day!
